Lady Shiva has posed:
An assassin's life should not be predictable. To do so was to invite capture by the authorities. Or elimination by those who were not pleased in some way, be they friends and relatives of the deceased, or an employer who decided they wished to have their money back. By not being predicatble, Shiva has lived her life in that dark world for most of her adulthood. It is comfortable.
There is one place where she has spent much time in the last year though. The old abandoned dojo was in a bad part of town. Many buildings were boarded up against the elements, long since abandoned to their fate by owners who wouldn't afford to keep them open anymore. The dojo is one of those. The front door is blacked out, letting nothing show from within. Yet Shiva has made this her base of operations when she is in Gotham. It is where she lays her head at night, in one of the back rooms. She has cleaned up the main room with the workout equipment and mats so that it is pristine and can be utilized for her training. A small kitchen area has replaced one of the offices. Perhaps it was hubris that had her so comfortable here. Or perhaps she just knew she could handle anyone that came looking to do harm.
This morning, she is seated in the middle of the mats in a lotus position. Her eyes are closed, breathing slow and controlled. She is wearing a black bodysuit that covers all but her hands, feet and face. Simple. Uncomplicated. The opposite of the woman who wears it.

Dragon has posed:
The day was sunny, if a little chilly. The birds were chirping, the sounds of the city was coming alive, and one man was on a journey. As he approaches the doorway to the doho, Dragon takes a moment to pause and listen. Closing his eyes, he reaches out with his senses. She is present. Opening his eyes, Dragon moves forward, and opens the door.

Stepping inside, Richard allows his eyes to adjust to the different light, and then moves into the main room, where he knows she is present. Seeing her in the lotus position, Richard waits for her respectfully, knowing that she knows he is there. It would be...impolite to interrupt.

Lady Shiva has posed:
When the door opens, Shiva doesn't reazt. The fact it isn't locked may seem strange to some. Richard is one who would know why her lack of concern or caution. At times, it borders on suicidal the way she tempts fate. She keeps her breathing and heart rate at the same pace as she continues her meditations.
He doesn't have to wait very long, in the grand scheme of things. No more than five minutes. As she finishes, those almond shaped eyes open and she focuses on her--friend? "It is good to see you, Richard. You are faring well?" she asks politely as she unfolds and rises gracefully to her feet.

Dragon has posed:
Bowing slightly at the waist, Richard allows himself to smile at the warm welcome. "Thank you, I am doing well." A pause. "It is always good to see you." A nod. "How are you doing? I apologize if I interrupted your meditation this fine morning. However, I wanted to bring you up to date on my attempts to train young Nightwing."

Dragon relaxes into an easy stance, as around Shiva he felt he could do that. His eyes scans the area, just a double check to ensure they were alone. After all, this information was for her ears only.

Lady Shiva has posed:
"I am well," is her automatic response. Whe he specifies attempts to train, Shiva's brows lift a fraction. "Come, I will make us some tea." She returns the bow to him then moves off the mats, feet whispering across the surface with each step as the material crunches slightly. Then the shift to the hardwood floor and there is no more sound as she moves to the back. Another office there has been changed into a small kitchen, although there are windows that allow the main floor to be seen easily from within. She moves to the stove and turns on the flame. The kettle if filled with water from a jub--no tap water for her tea--then placed atop the flame.
She turns to face him, leaning against the counter while they wait. "How is the Little Bat?"

Dragon has posed:
Richard Dragon follows Shiva for tea, with a nod and a slight smile. "Always knew how to make me feel welcome." Dragon watches as Shiva turns on the stove, and then places his hands behind his back, getting into teacher mode for this next bit of the conversation. Hmmm. We had our first training session the other day. It was quite illuminating. It allowed me to judge where he is in his training and experience."

Richard Dragon shakes his head, and says, "He's a capable fighter. I'd say even a fledgling master, someday he will be able to match you." Dragon looks at Shiva directly. "Just not today."

Dragon gets a strange contemplative look on his face. "I expect you could defeat him readily at this time, and after a year of training from me, he might be able to give you a good run for your money." Another pause. "He's just...young. Overconfidant. Brave. Which will get him in over his head. Headstrong. Kind of like his adoptive father actually. In a lot of ways..."

Lady Shiva has posed:
Shiva listens quietly, filing away all the information. At the addition of 'just not today', she cannot help but smile. This she already knew. She had only meant to evaluate him for a challenge in the far future that fateful night. Yet, this is where events had brought them to.
"It is disappointing that Batman will not allow me to do for young Nightwing as I had done for him. They are like the same coin but on opposite sides. I broke Batman and rebuilt him. It is why he is the man we see today." Perhaps that was overdoing it but Shiva believed that without her part in his training, he would be...less.
"Perhaps we should approach Batman and ask. If Nightwing were willing to place himself in my hands, allow me to tear hime down to the foundations then rebuild. It would make him stronger than he ever imagined possible."

Dragon has posed:
"Yes, I agree with that. They are so much alike...their styles, their abilities. It is their temperament that is so different. Like two sides of the same coin indeed!" Dragon does not comment on her "breaking" comments, instead reversing it a bit. "Yes, he does owe you a great deal. As does many others. Owe you that is." A twinkle of mischief to his eyes reveals he was in a good mood today.

"I don't see why Batman would refuse you. The more teachers that he has, the more finely honed young Nightwing will become. If you do that though, he will get a glimpse of your style. You will have few surprises for if you ever have to fight him." Not when, but if. "I am unsure if he would trust you that much, but you can try." Dragon nods his head, meaning no offense.

Lady Shiva has posed:
Perhaps Shiva is a touch surprised when Richard agrees with her. The two of them are much like the men they speak about. Richard and Shiva both share their knowledge, helping to train others. Their methodologies and motivations for doing so differ. Generally, Richard is the perfect sensei. He rarely loses his temper and shares his knowledge in a way that is usually welcomed by his students.
While Shiva can, and has, used that method often, there are times it isn't enough. Shiva has resorted to more psychological and emotional methods, perhaps even torturous. It was the only way to break someone with the willpower Bruce Wayne exhibited. With Nightwing being so much like him, she suspects it would take those same extremes.
Something to ask Batman indeed. It would avoid the battle that was looming on the horizon of all their lives perhaps, if they agreed to terms.
"A glimpse of the style I choose to share. I would not give away all my secrets," she murmurs with amusement.
The kettle whistles and she turns to quickly make two cups of tea, pouring the hot water directly over the leaves in the bottom of each cup.

Dragon has posed:
"Of course you would not. I would never expect you would." Dragon muses, as he also knows they rarely agree on anything. In this they are of similar minds, however. Dragon watches as Shiva pours the tea. When she was finished he accepted a cup with a "Thank you". and a slight bow of his head, respecting the offer of drink within a hosts home.

"You will, of course, try your method, and I will continue coaching him in my way." It was almost as though Dragon was reading her thoughts. Differing styles of instruction was obvious, like night and day, betwixt the two of them.

Dragon takes a sip of the tea, and mmms. "Between the two of us, we might make a warrior of him yet." Dragon takes another sip and enjoys the moment.
