Cast of Characters: Harley Quinn, Darkness

Harley Quinn has posed:
A girl like Harley Quinn is only safe unsupervised for short periods of time. Like a few minutes, tops, and that's if she's playing a video game. It's twenty seven days since Jackie boarded a ship bound for South America. Harley knows. She's made lipstick hashmarks on the bedroom wall for every single one of them.

Harley isn't what you'd consider a patient girl.

Anyone stopping in at her safe house would find fifteen empty cereal boxes on the island in the kitchen, cartoons still blaring on the giant tv in her bedroom, two rolls of duct tape, half full, on the bed, and labels from the packages of numerous rolls of bubble wrap all over the floor. But no Harley.

Darkness has posed:
Jackie stands in the chaos that is the Safe House, and there's an obvious look of concern on his handsome features. The trip South had been a mess, nearly deadly on several occasions, and then a bit of tussle with other primordial beings that caused him to be longer in returning than they thought. Still, he came back as soon as he could, and now he's pissed as he growls out to the shadows around him, "I told you bastards to keep an eye on her...." He doesn't look around, his connection to the Darkness and Darklings far stronger than a month ago, "What the fuck is hard about that?!?" His voice growls, getting deeper, deadlier, and he can feel the fear coming from the Darklings.

~Now, find her or I'll be forced to get new help...~ his eyes glowing that eerie green as the power starts to flood him, and the need to commit violence grows. The shadows around the room lengthen, causing the room to become unnaturally dark for this time of day, ~I'm waiting.~

Harley Quinn has posed:
"But Boss. Humperdink's with 'er." That gravelly voice is all he'll hear, cause the darkling is a little too afraid to come out right now. "She has him hooked on Celtic music, tho, so you have to get past the music in his head. You ought to see him break out in a jig though, it's a glorious sight to beho--"

"What he means, boss, is that we have eyes on 'er. Just...she sorta gave the rest of us the slip.

Sure enough, if Jackie focuses on the darkling, over the sound of electric bagpipes and fiddles, he'll recognize the Gotham sewers, and all the glorious sights and smells therein, as Humperdink stealth alongside Harley along a drainage run on the gravel floor.

Darkness has posed:
The room darknes more as the Darklings convey what they know of Humperdink, and the lack of response he's gotten from the Darkling. There's a visible shiver over Jackie's body as the Darkness armor starts to take form in response to his anger. ~Fine. I'll deal with Humperdink....~ that could voice calls out, and then he reminds the rest of them, ~When I ask you something.. I mean /all/ of you ... to answer. If that doesn't happen, then /all of you/ will pay the price.~

Then, Humperdink will feel Jackie take a hold of his mind, and shake the shite out of him.

~You. Wake the hell up. Answer me or I'll send you back to the Pit you're from, and you'll never see the Light of Day again. I'm coming to you. Don't lose her.~

Harley Quinn has posed:
The hell is wrong with you?" Harley asks, as her partner in crime is shaken violently. "You chickenin' out? You BETTER not chicken out, cause I will rain holy hell down on your-"

"Y-y-y-yes Boss!" Humperdink falls over as Jackie releases him.

"Boss? BOSS?" Harley's features are alight with hope, behind still seemingly dull and vacant eyes. She's wearing a thick suit entirely made of layers of bubble wrap and duct tape, and a pair of clear safety goggles, carrying a ghost hunting device made out of a cardboard box, a length of garden hose, and more duct tape. "Izze home? IZZE BACK?"

Darkness has posed:
Then, the area darkens where Humperdink is, and when it goes back to 'just barely visible' light there's an armored Darkness standing with a Humperdink in his grasp. The green eyes glow brightly with enough light to make the sewers seem almost visible around him, and when his eyes fall on Harley he'll forget he's holding Humperdink.

As he crosses the distance between them it almost seems as if he teleports, the movement so fast to not register, and then he has his arms wrapped around Harley in a tight embrace. A few moments later he steps back, looks her over for any signs of injury, "Beautiful, you ok? You look fine, but I want to make sure..." Then it dawns on him what she's dressed like, and he tilts his head to the side "Uhm, hunting ghosts?"

Harley Quinn has posed:
Harley flies into Jackie's embrace, squeezing him tightly. As he squeezes her back, there are various pops and snaps as the bubble wrap takes collateral damage. "I'm fine!" She replies. "Humperdink," she nods toward the darkling dressed identically to her, and wearing headphones, "He's teaching me how!" She thrusts a hand into the air with a rocker sign, and headbangs, singing Ghostbusters.

Darkness has posed:
Once he's sure she's ok, Jackie lets out a sigh of relief, and there's a deep chuckle behind the metal mask of his armor. ~Well, Humperdink better learn to ANSWER MY CALL when I reach out to the Darklings, or he'll not be back any time soon.~ That oddly metallic and deep voice rolling down the sewers as he speaks. The mask slips, the eyes glow less brightly, and she'll see the face she's missed the last month. "Of course, as long as your happy and safe, that's all that matters, Beautiful."

Harley Quinn has posed:
"Sorreh Boss, I couldnt hear ya," Humperdink replies.

Harley giggles madly and touches Jackie's face. "I'm always okay, Sugarbutt. Who'd be crazy enough to fuck with me, hmm?" She tilts her head and offers Jackie a lopsided grin. "Nobody, you know that." She winks. Wanna go home? You can tell me about that CRAZY cool outfit, and we can make s'mores. The ghosts aren't bitin' today, anyway."

Darkness has posed:
Oh there's a glare sent Humperdink's way, and he knows.. KNOWS.. that if it weren't for Harley loving him so much that he'd be gone already. Instead, in a calm and cold voice he says, "Do better."

To Harley, that coldness disappears, and he smiles at her as he shakes his head, "No, I don't think they would. Lets get back home, and you can tell me what you were looking for, and I can tell you what I found." He takes both of her hands in his own, adding, "S'mores sound great. Maybe we'll have some milkshakes too, if you want."
