Cast of Characters: Mon-El, Superman, Supergirl

Mon-El has posed:
One of the things Mon-El had finally recalled after SHIELD helped him regain his memories is his relationship with Kal El, otherwise known to this planet as Superman. Really, it's no wonder all those statues and other various images of him looked so familiar. In fact, that's where he got that weird name 'Mon-El'. And it's how he ended up trapped in the Phantom Zone for a thousand years. But it was better than being dead....well, maybe.

Anyway, speaking of the Phantom Zone, Lar had made it a point to try to get in contact with Kal, because there were some -people- who really ought to be thrown in there indefinitely. Too dangerous to keep anywhere else--but letting them die seemed -too- final.

Superman has posed:
Superman is not one to pass up when someone reaches out to him. Still, he doesn't have quite the relationship with Mon-El that his cousin has, at least not the current version of the man. And so Kara is drug along, even though they've all spent some time in the recent weeks and months and such. Nothing wrong with getting people together. So it's a short little jaunt through space, a chance to fly, and to get up to the ship before he knocks on the door. Why? Cause he can. Sure, most people hitting a metal door wouldn't make any noise but for Kal-El? It's a little fun to tap his knuckles on the structure and have it echo through the ship until someone opens up the bay doors that let him fly in and enjoy the ship's gravity and atmosphere. "Good evening, everyone."

Supergirl has posed:
Following along in Kal's wake is the Maiden of Might. Supergirl was brought along, although she really wasn't up to the visit. Too many questions, too many worries. Everything buzzing in her brain. But Kal's advice was always to deal with a situation, not to just let it sit and get more complicated or uncomfortable.
She stays quiet though as she lands, boots quietly touching down on the metal of the deck plating in the docking bay as the doors close behind them. Once sealed, they atmosphere into the area. Her cape settles against her back, showing the gravity is now back in effect.

Mon-El has posed:
"Kal," Lar moves to greet Kal with a smile, but when he opens the airlock to allow them inside, he looks kind of shocked that Kara is there. "...and Kara. Um, hi. I wasn't expecting--uhm..." he shakes his head. "Never mind." He motions toward the crew lounge where there is plenty of comfortable seating. "Come on, this way."

As they are headed in that direction, he walks near to Kara and leans in momentarily. "Kara I--need to speak with you after this. Alone." Then a brief sigh as he steps on ahead and sits down.

Superman has posed:
"What? Did you forget we're a matched set? We even have the outfits to prove it," he says, of course referring to the lovely House of El sysmbol (Or, more simply, the S on their chest if you're a heathen Earthling with no respect for Kryptonian language) and he moves forward, as they're invited in. Settilng down he leans back, brushing his cape over one shoulder, letting his legs stretch out and he smiles. "This is nice. I imagine it goes a little faster than we do?" He glances about the ship, looking to the entertainment, the seats, the many options it has. "So what's on your mind? You seemed excited to get together."

Supergirl has posed:
He took the words right out of her mouth. Kara gives a slight nod. "Yes, we do." Could he be feeling the same way as her? That would simplify things. But things are never that simple. It doesn't work out that way. She can hope though.

She follows along with her cousin, smiling at the matched set bit as she settles into her own seat. She automatically smooths her skirt as she relaxes, glancing over at Lar as she is wondering what did prompt him to call Kal for a meeting.

Mon-El has posed:
"I know, I know." Lar chuckles, shaking his head as he settles in across from Kal. "I...would have reached out to you earlier, but as you might have heard, a had a bit of a case of amnesia." he says, looking a bit sheepish for a moment.

Then he glances around the crew quarters as Kal mentions the ship. "Yeah, that's probably an apt way to describe it. Plus, easier for taking other people around." he grins. Obviously.

"Anyway, I was hoping I could ask you something..." Lar trails off for a few seconds, his gaze falling on Kara again. He just keeps glancing at her and then back at Kal, as if distracted by something he's been dreading for a while. "...um, yeah. I was hoping I could use the Phantom Zone projector. Several weeks back some...extremists from my planet showed up on Earth looking for trouble. We managed to take them down, but I don't think keeping them here in the brig or anywhere on Earth would be safe for the long term."

Superman has posed:
"You're only going to be able to use that excuse for so long," he says with a bit of a chuckle, though the smile on his face fades as the mention of the Phantom Zone projector is brought up. He sits back, and looks to Kara for a moment, that sort of brow raise of 'did you know about this' before he looks back to Lar. "No..." he says, simply. "Absolutley not."

It's kind of amusing. Most parents would of course explains reasons after a bit. Other people may articulate as well why they give the answer they give. In this particular instance, however, there's that sort of definite look on his features that makes it seem he's not going to brook much discussion on the matter. It won't hurt for Mon to try however...plus questions tend to move the plot along! And so Clark folds his arms over his chest and his lips are pursed. It's certainly not the type of conversation he was expecting when he flew up.

Mon-El has posed:
Lar sighs. That look on Kal's face is...it almost reminds him of his own parents. He glances at Kara again, at the thought of said parents. It's a very odd feeling, because he -used- to be older than Clark, but now he is much younger. Because of--surprise, the Phantom Zone. So yeah, that stern 'parenty' stare works now.

"Okay," he actually seems to accept 'no' for an answer. Well... "Then will -you- use it for me? I mean do you -have- a better idea? You know we're as strong as you are. I can't just keep them here forever, dragging them around the galaxy everywhere. And I can't imagine -you'd- be the first to suggest we execute them, am I right?"

Superman has posed:
"Earth is full of people with incredible skills. There are magicians, travelers, there are those with ships who do exactly what you speak of which is fly around from place to place," he says quietly. "Relocating...repurposing? Sure. Sending those who were there previously that are supposed to be there again? If we have to as a last resort. But the Phantom Zone isn't meant to be the easy way out of a tough situation. It's meant to be the last resort for a no win situation. Only when there are two bad options and it is the least bad of the two would I consider using it. It's inhumane..." and if Clark is anything, he's human as much as Kryptonian. Perhaps back in the day it would have been the punishment of choice, but to Clark little good has come from it and he knows he'd never want to go there, so it is extremely difficult for him to choose the opposite.

Supergirl has posed:
"Is there nothing else we can do?" Supergirl asks, speaking up a bit for the first time since their arrival. "Some way to contain them without sending them to that awful place?" She isn't sure if the humans re equipped to contain someone of Kryptonian or Daxamite levels on Earth but there certainly are people they could ask. "SHIELD? Avengers? Justice League? There has to be some sort of way without condemning them." A small shudder goes through her at the idea of the place they are discussing. She looks from Kal to Lar, wondering if either of them might have other options.

Mon-El has posed:
"I--you're right." Lar admits, knowing the horrors of the Phantom Zone himself. "I just--don't want anyone else at risk for the stupid stuff I've done or failed to do. Enough's happened already." His gaze falls to the floor, thinking about the fact that Krypton sent its criminals there for years. Isn't Kal being a bit of a hypocrite, then? No--no he's not. He didn't grow up there.

He looks up at Kara, nodding slightly. "I asked SHIELD about it. They seemed willing, but unsure. I also don't know everything about them either. They do seem...willing to take pretty drastic measures if they see the need."

Superman has posed:
"More drastic than sending people to an inescapable prison filled with the worst monsters that have been found across who knows how many galaxies?" Superman rises to his feet. "I think you should reach out to the humans. And if not that group then there are plenty of other more...capable than the base version I suppose. See what they can come up with. But no...it is going to take something fairly extraordinary and unforgiveable to bring that device back into play." He smiles, "But I think you two said you had something to talk about so I'll see myself out," he says, playfully showing off and starting to gently float backwards, so that he can fly towards the door before he catches his feet again and says, "You two stay out of trouble."

Mon-El has posed:
"Honestly, I don't know." Lar shrugs. "I mean -I- trust them, but I don't know everything about them." Though he does know that procedure they used on him to get his memories back had been pretty risky. And painful in more ways than one. And they didn't seem adverse to the idea of being given the responsibility or burden of being the ones to take -him- down if it ever became necessary. What they would do to him after the fact if it ever came to that is anyone's guess, really. There were a lot of people who seemed--distrustful of them, back when the news of the Rising Tide leak had been fresh.

Then Kal sees himself out, and Lar is left staring at Kara for what seems to be an eternity. "I...Kara--we'll talk another time, okay?" he sighs. Can you tell he's dreading whatever this is? "I promise." He takes her hands into his briefly at this, as if for reassurance that he really means this. "Tomorrow, over pizza?"

Supergirl has posed:
She's not looking forward to this talk. He isn't going to like what she has to say. The way he's acting, Kara isn't going to like what he has to say either. "Okay. Pizza. The usual time." She gives his hand a squeeza, her smile a little sad. Then she turns and heads to follow her cousin out of the ship, leaving Lar to his own thoughts. And she to hers.
