Bennett Masterson has posed:
It's early evening, the sun outside has only been down half an hour or so. That still makes it dark in New York and the saying goes, the freaks come out at night, right? The subway station is busy with the hustle and bustle of people going about their daily lives, pushed here by the need to get from point A to point B.

Crowds generally aren't Bennett's thing, but sometimes they're a necessary evil. A mess of people actually equates to less eyes on him. Less eyes on him means no one really pays much attention to the fact that he's currently rummaging through a trash can. Just the top, he's not a 'digger', the stuff at the bottom generally isn't worth the effort.

SCORE! Look, someone threw away a perfectly good half a sandwich with some chips and it's all sealed nicely in one of those Styrofoam containers. Prize in hand, he meanders to a nearby bench to have dinner.

Stepford Cuckoos has posed:
Irma is out on her own tonight, having watched Phoebe go out on a date the night before, so Irma is on her own looking to enjoy a night on the town.

The young blonde woman is walking down the landing platform of the train she just climbed off of, and with her cellphone held in her hand, the young woman spots a man elated at finding his dinner for the night and not having really encountered a homeless man before, the girl can't help but stop herself mid stride and stare at the man. Her eyes lingering on him as she begins to delve into his mind and thoughts, curious.

Bennett Masterson has posed:
There's currently not a whole lot going on on the surface of Bennett's mind. In fact, he's just humming 'If You're Gonna Play in Texas' by Alabama in his head. But like the man's physical appearance, there's more than meets the 'eye' with him; even if that eye is a mental one. He's worried. He hasn't seen someone he knows in a little while, another street person.

He breaks off a piece of the crust of his sandwich and offers it to his... hair near his left shoulder? No, wait. There's something under Bennett's hair. A rat, small by New York City 'rat standards' pokes its head out and snatches the little morsel. A series of squeaks, some more audible than the others - made by the man not the rodent - and another of the little critters climbs from one of his deep jacket pockets to sit on his knee.

Even then, no one seems to notice Bennett other than Irma. In true 'Big City' fashion, the homeless are invisible.

Stepford Cuckoos has posed:
The woman wearing a long white coat and a mid thigh length red skirt, remains standing still, observing the man and the rats starting to climb over him, and yet this doesn't affect her in any way. Irma slips her phone back into her pocket and steps towards the homeless man. "I didn't expect people to feed animals like that." She says in a weirdly flat tone of voice as she lingers over the man.

Caim Kataras has posed:
"Intriguing." Caim says, greek accent to his voice as he leans on his cane. His mind flashes between acts of violence and desires. For example he envisions having to fight his way through the subway station. Between this imaginary battle and the memories of violence he has flashing in his mind. He looks to the man with the rats on him. "Personally I never seen the feral animals like rats show favor to anyone. Either you are gifted with the vermin or they are trained." He says softly as he approaches the two. The way he is dressed he could be mistakened for a businessman, if it werent for the massive longcoat he wore, looking like old military coat.

Bennett Masterson has posed:
One might think the rats would scatter at the approach of a stranger, but they don't. They stand their ground, little beady eyes fixated on Irma. Their demeanor is almost challenging.

Bennett doesn't look up from his food at the sound of strange voices. He doesn't tense. He just replies softly, "They have to eat too, Miss," to Irma. His accent is Southern, more than that it's 'cultured' Southern - Rhett Butler Southern. One might expect an 'Ah do declare' to fall from his lips at any moment. "Vermin? What, pray tell, gives you the right to refer to them as vermin?" he asks with just a slightly harder edge to his voice.

Another rat, larger than the two currently using Bennett as furniture appears under the bench the man's sitting on and then another.

Stepford Cuckoos has posed:
Irma looks over to Caim as he appears from nearly no where and she squints at his thoughts. "He is a dangerous man." The girl responds, warning the man and the rats, as she does agree, that animals need to eat as well. Better for him to feed them food than for them to take bites out of him.

Almost like a young child, Irma reiterates. "Vermin is quite a harsh word to use for someone's pets." The woman explains.

Caim Kataras has posed:
"I apologize." Caim say calmly as he watches the rats appear. "If it makes you feel any better, I like rats better then some people. The ultimate survivor, able to live anywhere on the planet." Caim says. He looks to Irma and watches her curiously. He then turns his attention to the man again. "How do you make them come to you...do you suppress the prey part of their mind, make them think you arent anything to be feared?" He asks curiously. He then reaches into his coat to pull out a small packet of crackers which he opens to offer to the man.

Bennett Masterson has posed:
Finally Bennett looks up. The action reveals his black eyes. He graces Irma with a genuine smile. Seems he likes the girl. "So am I," he murmurs without any malice or threat. He's just stating the facts as he sees them. He offers Irma a potato chip from his little trash diving treasure box.

Another rat under the bench. The total is up to five now. Not a single one of them seems afraid in the slightest.

Attention shifts to Caim. "I do not //make// them think anything. They do as they please. They believe I'm not a threat because, well, I'm not. Not to them anyway." Seems his feathers might still be a little ruffled over the 'vermin' comment, or perhaps there's something else that has him ruffled?

Bennett is sitting on a bench picking at the sandwich and chips in a white Styrofoam container. A rat is settled on his knee, another on his shoulder, both are smaller than average. Beneath his bench are three more that are much more the standard NYC rat size. There's only one of the Cuckoos present, Irma. She and Caim are standing near the homeless man with a fondness for rodents.

Stepford Cuckoos has posed:
"I am dangerous as well. It all has to do with how willing someone is to act on those dark thoughts." The woman says with a glance of her blue eyes towards Caim. A simple peak into the man's mind revealed he can and will harm.

Irma however steps closer to the man on the bench and her delicate hand reaches out to take the potato chip and then lift it to her lips to eat softly. "I appreciate the sentiment." The clone whispers.
