Synopsis: Scott and Betsy catchup then brainstorm some training ideas.
Cast of Characters: Psylocke, Cyclops

Psylocke has posed:
School can't let out soon enough.

Betsy is as bad as her students in that regard. Teaching English has gotten the best of her. She wants to shift to some other topic but hasn't really had much of a chance to talk with Charles or Jean about the possibility. Between her work and her relationship, making plans for the next step there, she was swamped all the time. But she had to make the time. Cause if she didn't, she'd be teaching the same topic next semester and if she had to explain the difference between an adjective and an adverb one more time, she might stick a psiblade in someone.

That would be bad for school PR.

For now, she's sitting in the kitchen at the Mansion having a bottle of water while staring at the pile of papers in front of her as if they are more dangerous than an entire gang of ninjas.

Cyclops has posed:
Cyclops comes in from outside, a leather jacket on over a t-shirt, his jeans kept nicely cleaned. Some boots indicate he was either walking or riding. He heads to the fridge to pull out a small bottle of juice...apple today...and he comes back to sit down. Tilting his head as he looks at the papers, there's a slight grin as he thinks for a moment. "You know...you could mark those up in what ever color you wanted, it'd still look like you were using the old famous teacher's red pen to me," he offers, his brow lifting slightly over the rim of his glasses before he leans back and looks to you more closely. "I thought I was supposed to be the dour, no fun one. You're not trying to take my job, are you? Cause I guarantee I can put up a pretty good fight in the land of who can be more grumpy."

Psylocke has posed:
Glancing up at his entry, Betsy gives a slight smile then shrugs, a tiny ripple of movement through her shoulders. "I hate English." Considering she is speaking with a British accent, that has to be somewhat amusing to hear. Such a strang dichotomy in the woman dubbed Psylocke. She looks Japanese, thanks to the body swap. Yet, she was born and raised in England thus she still speaks with that accent despite the change in form. She brushes a lock of deep purple hair behind an ear as she sets her pen down for a moment. It is indeed red. With his visual situation, she does smile at his joke a bit. "I would like to teach something else. Perhaps Phys Ed. I think I'd be good at that." Since she is one of the more physically inclined of their group with her martial arts. Not that all of them aren't trained but being put into the body of a Hand assassin did have some perks.

Cyclops has posed:
Cyclops looks over at the stack and says, "It's not the papers that would bother me about teaching. It's all the kids," he says, and it's so damned dead pan you have no idea if he's being serious or not as he takes another sip out of his bottle of juice and looks back to you. "I'm not sure you'd want PE. At least in English you can control the topic, and they're all settled down and required to be fairly obedient. In PE you're talking exercise, competition...hormones," he says, looking to you pointedly from behind the glasses cause well...Psylocke in physical training clothes is not likely to go unnoticed by the students. "Maybe something else? Botany?"

Psylocke has posed:
"You think hormones don't run rampant when I'm teaching English? Every time I turn my back to the class, the thoughts are not innocent." Being a telepath can be a double edged sword, obviously. While it is good at times, other times she learns what she doesn't want to know. It makes life so much more complicated. Picking up her bottle of water, Betsy gives another of those tiny shrugs. "I don't know the first thing about plants. Or the sciences. I'm more the physical type. Not sure what else there is that I could help teach. Maybe I should take a step back from teaching. Just focus on the team and leave the teaching to those better suited. I can still help with telepathic students, in powers training of coure."

Cyclops has posed:
Cyclopschuckles quietly and says, "Well it's a good thing you don't read my mind," he says jokingly as he looks at you, playfully, that sardonic sort of grin of his and still you don't know how much he's teasing or not. It's like Scott's permanently in this staf of 'what the hell is he actually thinking' and it's anyone's guess. "History of swordmaking?" He cants his head, curiously, and then thinks. "Oooh, fencing. You could teach that..." and he points to the papers. "You're surely doing fine. If you weren't, someone would have spoken to you already. Or thought it, just to you...so you really have nothing to worry about. But like you said, if you're wanting the switch bring it up. I'm sure we can find other people to help out with teachign English to the kids. Maybe Colossus...or Kurt."

Psylocke has posed:
"Kurt would take me out if I tried to teach fencing and he didn't get to. You know he has those pirate or Errol Flynn fantasies or whatever they are. So probably for the best to not go that way either." Betsy sips from her water bottle again then sets it aside and picks up her pen. She looks at the top page and lets out a soft sigh then cuts her violet eyes his direction. "And you never know, Scott. I might be in your mind right now, learning all those dirty little secrets you try to hide from the rest of us." At least she's only teasing. It would be rude to snoop. Besides, he does have his own defenses even if she might be able to work past them in time. He'd know she was doing so.

Cyclops has posed:
Cyclops was chuckling but as you make that comment the smile fades, a bit. Okay not a bit...completely, as he takes another drink of his juice. "Hmm..." he says, and that's all he says for a little bit as he looks to you. "So you make the comment about Kurt not getting to teach fencing, but nothing at all about him teaching English? I'm starting to worry about where your priorities are," he offers, with that little bit of a chuckle that shows he's forgiven you...at least for now. He finishes his juice though and goes to toss the plastic bottle towards the open recycling bin though he does the whole lining up the shot like he's shooting a free throw thing first.

Psylocke has posed:
What is with people doing that? It's the strangest thing. Why not just walk over and throw it in the bin? Betsy watches him curiously, glancing over at the bin to see if he makes it while she is speaking. "I honestly think he would be able to teach English just fine. After all, he had to learn it as a second language so he knows more details than most Americans can. After all, they barely speak the language themselves." Yes, she is talking about Scott too.

Cyclops has posed:
Cyclops looks over and he nods, "Well sure...if we want all of them to speak and learn it as if they were straight out of a vampire movie," he says with a grin and seems to be in a good mood again, his joke entertaining him and he says, "We've seemed to have gotten a few new recruits in again. I may have you help me put together a real training, not just something for the students. Something a bit more...hands on and with some consequence if they don't perform well. But I want to get a readiness assessment of sorts done. It's been a while since we've been tested on anything other than that adventure at the White House and a few things with mutant town and in any of those cases, they would have had to have held back because of the public visibility. I want to take some of the handcuffs off and see how they do."

Psylocke has posed:
"There's always the Danger Room but they know they are in a controlled environment. It taints their reactions," Betsy observes as she taps the tip of her pen on the paper as she warms to a better subject. "We could do something in a controlled location without them knowing it is controlled. Set up some things with Hank and projectors. Use some of us as their opponents but disguised." She makes a hmmm sound then digs under the pile of papers for a notepad, pulling it out and jotting a few notes.

Cyclops has posed:
Cyclops nods, "Or we could get Jean involved and make them see things that aren't there. Maybe get them to sleep, put them in the Danger Room, but then they wake up in the simulation so they are in the Danger Room but don't know it," he offers. "I like that idea. Otherwise...there's always what the CIA used to do. Give them am ission, send them somewhere like a bar or place to accomplish it...then send in another group who's job it is to foil them from it one way or another like a counter agent. That doesn't test their specific skill set but sometimes we're not always about what we do and things..." he says with a bit of a tap to the chin..."I mean not all about the things we can do with our special skills. Sometimes just getting out there and talking to people can be a lot harder for a person who knows they're not the same as everyone else."

Psylocke has posed:
Psylocke says, "The Professor could do that easily enough. Still keep them in a controlled location so they don't get hurt when they go up against one another. We'll have to figure out the logistics." She is still jotting down notes then glances at him when he says the last. "Most definitely. Many of the students need more help with the social aspects. They do alright in this protected environment but out in the world, it's a lot harder since they don't know how people are going to react. Too much hate, too many crazies.""

Cyclops has posed:
Cyclops grabs a napkin and one of the pens by the fridge for people to write down anything they want potentially added to the grocery list and makes a few notes before shoving that in his back pocket...because somehow that was easier than just taking out his phone and texting himself the idea. Still, he nods, "Alright, I'll dig into it in our next grown up X-team meeting and see what folks think. With us controlling the environment I rather like the idea. I can program a few things...well...ok, I can come up with a few things for someone else to program," he says, and wryly grins before he gets up and goes to the fridge and pulls out a beer. "That...was because I was thirsty. This...is because it's Sunday night, I'm not on duty, and I'm going to go watch some sports in my room before I fall asleep. Enjoy your grading..." he says and pats your shoulder once, giving an affectionate squeeze and moving on to his room.
