Stalking the Stalker
Date of Scene: 15 May 2018
Location: Unknown
Synopsis: Lana and Marc come up with a side quest.
Cast of Characters: Blackout, Svetlana Kuznetsov

Blackout has posed:
Queens, New York. Atop the Regency Bank Building - a high rise that extends 12 floors above the street. Midnight thirty. Blackout, wearing all black is found crouching along the edge of the rooftop. He seems to be silently watching the city below. Looking northwesterward toward Riker's island. The moonlight can be seen reflecting off the surrounding water of the island. Blackout ponders.

Svetlana Kuznetsov has posed:
Lana isn't out -doing- anything special today. Meaning she's not on an actual 'mission-mission'. Technically speaking. Her assignment has been to get acclimated to this decade, so she's doing her best to immerse herself in it. That means walking the streets at all hours, apparently. The girl has spruced up her wardrobe a bit, at least. No longer dressing like a teenager, the silk blouse, snug-fitting pants, and leather jacket are also much more suitable for night maneuvers.

Blackout has posed:
Spotting the familiar face, Blackout will take a second to recognize Lana from a previous encounter. Watching her walk, he'll form a dense darkforce ball (like rubber) and let it drop. It will hit the sidewalk a few feet in front of Lana and bounce straight up.

Svetlana Kuznetsov has posed:
Lana reacts immediately to the bouncing darkforce, stepping aside and flattening herself back against the wall. Duck-and-cover first. And then she follows the bouncing ball back upward, squinting as if trying to see into the blackness of the night.

Blackout has posed:
He catches the ball. Though hard to see him, there's still some outline of his frame within the background illumination. He raises his right hand, waves, and then a portal will open in front of her. The portal looks into the dark void.

Svetlana Kuznetsov has posed:
Okay, so Lana remembers the portal. She went into one last time and came out okay, so she relaxes. No longer trying to see the dark figure in the darkness, she decides to play along. And she steps slowly into the portal. She didn't have much time to think about it before, so this time the girl does approach it a bit more cautiously.

Blackout has posed:
The portal opens into the darkforce dimension, however two feet away is another portal that peers from the darkforce onto the rooftop where Blackout stepped off the roof ledge onto the gravel floor of the roof. His mask fades and he smiles toward the portal with a welcoming gesture of his right hand as his voice intones, "Come on through."

Svetlana Kuznetsov has posed:
Lana steps through, into the darkforce dimension and then out onto the roof. For a girl from 1950, she's rapidly becoming accustomed to strange things happening around her. Once onto the gravel roof, she pauses to look around before inclining her head towards him. "Good evening." the girl offers.

Blackout has posed:
"Evening. We didn't have time to really formally introduce ourselves... I'm Marcus... Blackout." and he'll offer his right hand in greeting as he steps with his right foot to draw the distance between them closer. Also, the portal behind her closes allowing for a pffft noise of pressure change and the stopping of the flow of air into the darkness.

Svetlana Kuznetsov has posed:
"I am Svetlana Kuznetsov." the girl replies. "Most everyone calls me Lana, unless they speak Russian. It is easier." She extends her hand to accept his own, the grip firm and the palm calloused. "Blackout. It suits you, yes." she declares.

Blackout has posed:
He smiles, "I kinda do black things out." But then again she already knows about the darkness. "Oh, and to clarify. I'm totally not stalking you. I just saw you from up here." he interjects with a footnote tone to suggest that he's no stalker.

Svetlana Kuznetsov has posed:
Lana smiles at that, shrugging again. "I do not know what is... stalker. Oh! Is that like someone who follows you, waiting for the right moment to attack?" She slips her hands into her coat pockets, then. "Because I am collecting guns that I take from those people."

Blackout has posed:
With a chuckle, Marcus nods and then turns slightly to form a set of chairs atop the roof. Comfortable ones with cushions. All made from darkforce. They are positioned opposite one another by a few feet and he'll say, "Join me?" and he'll take a seat.

He carries on and says, "So tell me about this gun collection of yours. You take guns from bad guys, right?"

Svetlana Kuznetsov has posed:
Lana moves to settle onto one of the darkforce chairs, testing one briefly with a pat of her hand. "Da-... yes. Only the ones who are stupid enough to try and rob me, though. And I do not kill them." Although her voice trails off a bit at the last, perhaps like this isn't so much a hard-and-fast rule with her.

Blackout has posed:
"Oh? So you're talking about your own stalkers? Do you get stalkers often? I mean... what's that all about? Do you attract them or something?" Asks Marcus with a quizical rise in his voice and left eyebrow as he gets comfortable in his own chair.

Svetlana Kuznetsov has posed:
The girl sits and settles back comfortably, hands out of the jacket now. "I walk alone in bad places at night. I find that it attracts bad people that way. It gives me practice, and gets guns from bad people. Win-win. Yes?"

Blackout has posed:
"Da." he says with a hint to her previous yes and Russian flair and the continued smile.

"Maybe it'll keep them from doing it ever again - barring they're still alive and with all their parts. Heck, I don't want to say this, but I'm all for the concept of punishment fitting the crime. Things get chopped off for trying to use them inappropriately." notes Marcus with a grim tone of legal matters.

Svetlana Kuznetsov has posed:
Lana shrugs again, a smile touching her lips now. "Of course. As I said, though. I leave them alive, but rarely unhurt. But I do not... chop things off. That is the Cossack way." She considers him, then. "But what of you? Why do you... what is word?... *LURK*... on rooftops at night? You also look for bad people, yes?"

Blackout has posed:
He glances in the direction of Riker's Island and says, "Been thinking about that place and the last time we were here." He looks back to her and elaborates, "I've never really been the super hero. Heck, when I got my powers I was like a kid in the candy store. I took what I wanted, did what I wanted, went where I wanted. Even now, I tend to disregard things that would be considered forbidden otherwise.". He gives pause for a moment.

"But..." then glancing back to Rikers. "I've been reflective lately and figuring I'm teetering on ending up in that place. And to be honest, I really don't like the idea of being called Molly and being violated by someone like Crusher Creel."

Svetlana Kuznetsov has posed:
She looks like she's following along, right up until the 'Molly' reference. Dark brows knit. "Who is Molly? And I think I understand who is Crusher Creel. He is WWF Wrestler, da?" Okay, so she really doesn't get it at all.

"But I do understand. You do not wish to be one of the 'bad guys' anymore. This is a good thing, I think."

Blackout has posed:
He sees the culture and language barrier and smiles. Marcus notes, "Basically, yes. I don't want to be a bad guy and end up in there. I've been hiring myself out as a bodyguard, transport and shipping - which works great with my teleport. I've been thinking of seeking something more legal and maybe espionage. But not sure where to go with it."

Svetlana Kuznetsov has posed:
At that, Lana chuckles softly. "A bodyguard? Da. I have done a little 'bodyguarding' as well. We both have the skill for it, I think." She looks thoughtful, then. "To get into espionage will not be an easy thing, I think. Spies do not trust easily, not even each other." And she speaks as if from experience.

Blackout has posed:
"I may be a little past the age cutoff to get into those types of jobs. Generally one would start off right out of college then get the base training and then of course years and years of experience. I have powers, I don't really have the skills. I just figure my power set, stealth based, would fit right into something like that." Notes Marcus after a second of thought and a nod.

Svetlana Kuznetsov has posed:
Lana shakes her head at that. "I have not been to college." she declares. "Although I have had... some training." Okay, big understatement there. "Perhaps I could teach you? I am not a spy, but a soldier. There are some things that I know. Or some people I know, that might be interested."

Blackout has posed:
"That'd be great." Marcus responds in anticipation of learning something. "I'm just a physicist... an out of work one. But, I could totally pay you. If anything, my powers have really come in handy with paying the rent."

Svetlana Kuznetsov has posed:
She doesn't -exactly- cluck her tongue reproachfully at that, but there is amusement in Lana's eyes all the same. The girl knows what it means to be on hard times, after all. "I do not require money." the girl declares. "At least not much."

Blackout has posed:
He'll seem pleased and then hear a beep from his super suit pocket. He pulls out a cell phone and reads, "Cripes.... I've got an appointment. Let's trade numbers, we can set something up and get this show on the road. And... I may be able to help you in other ways in return. Maybe armor... but we can talk about it later."

Svetlana Kuznetsov has posed:
"Of course." she replies. Lana has a smartphone, and she is now the master of electronic transfer between phones. But either way, calls can be exchanged. The girl's expression becomes wry as she offers. "You vill call me maybe, da?"

Blackout has posed:
"Absolutely." Marcus states as he stands after the exchange. He'll open a portal behind himself and say, "Oh..." and then open another portal behind her. "There's the way back to the street. I'll be in touch."
