Tinyplot: Mutant Kidnappings

Iron Man has posed:
Penny, the kidnapped mutant Rogue rescued and later visited, sends Rogue a series of weird messages from her new phone that Rogue gave her. It is total random button presses, all over the place. There's four of the messages in rapid fire, and a picture that's just black with a white upper left corner. It's about 3pm in the afternoon.
A search run by JARVIS on the phone's location reveals it is still at the hospital, though it did move. Maybe she was moved to another room. JARVIS does agree to look into the building footage to see if he can tell more about where the phone may be.
But then Rogue dialed it. The phone picks up, the line open, into silence at first.
Then there's some rapid, scared breathing.

Rogue has posed:
Once things had seemed to be escalating into a weird place, Rogue separates herself from her friends at school and finds a quiet place near a corner of windows that look out onto Manhattan's skyline. She's on the third floor of the Kimmel Center at NYU, her hair tied back in a ponytail and a white scarf around her neck with some casual clothing finishing off her attire. Rogue's right arm crosses over her stomach as she waits for the line to pick up.

When it does, she holds the phone closer to her left ear beneath her white bangs and she speaks out into it.

"Penny?" She asks, hearing the breathing. "Penny, whats up?" She asks raising her voice. "This ain't like, a uncomfortable butt dialing is it?" The breathing was certainly off-putting a bit.

Iron Man has posed:
"They're /here/. Wait, I have to move. Don't hang up," Penny whispers into the phone, her voice full of terror. It's not a butt-dial.
There's some shuffling noises and some time passes where there's no sound except for maybe a door squeaking open, and some more noise as if the phone were being rubbed on something or held close, maybe.

Rogue has posed:
When the 'They're here' message is relayed, Rogue uncrosses her arms and starts to turn around from where she's standing in that corner windows area with the sun shining through down onto her. She starts walking forward and moves past a group of people coming in from an outside balcony. "Who's there?" Rogue asks, even though in her gut she can guess and the 'bad feeling about this' vibe is already growing.

Rogue steps out onto the balcony and looks around... there's quite a few people out right now on this part of the outside area. So she turns to the north and starts to walk past the tables and chairs.

"Penny. I'm gonna come out and find ya, okay?" Rogue is saying as she's walking to find a more secluded place on the balcony.

Iron Man has posed:
More scuffling. A cry. Probably Penny.

An entirely new voice comes onto the phone, sounds like it has changed hands. The voice proves it. "Hello?" a confident, but somewhat reedy masculine voice says into the phone.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue steps around the corner of the building and finds it to be empty of any people so she walks right up to a table and chair set beside the railing and scales the chair... about to jump... when the voice chimes in over the phone.

"Hello?" Rogue says back at the voice. "Who the hell is this?" She asks, annoyance thick in her southern accented tone. Rogue stands there with one foot on the back of the chair and the other on its seat, the wind blowing the scarf on her neck out beside her like a flag, as well as her white bangs.

Iron Man has posed:
"Miss Ross's doctor, she was out of bed and has fallen; who is calling, 'please'?" the voice says, with a relaxed quality about the whole situation. The 'please' sounded pretty snide. There's no real background noise, but it does sound like the man is walking around somewhere.

A text pops up for Rogue. JARVIS determined that Penny is in a psychiatric area of the hospital.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue reaches her free gloved hand up to stroke her white hair out of her face from the warm summer winds and listens closely to the voice. "Rogue." She replies. "A member of the Avengers, and the person who's lookin' out for Miss Ross. Whats your name, if you're her doctor?" Rogue had failed to get Penny's doctor's name while she was at the hospital the other day, which is vexxing in this moment now to say the least... She hears the chime-in from JARVIS, but only files that information away inside her head right now.

Iron Man has posed:
"Dr. Johnson. Good to speak to you, Rogue. Give my /very/ best to the Avengers. Should I expect your visit? Feel free to call back later if you prefer; we are quite busy here, but I'd love to pick up with you later," he continues, nonchalant. "Have a pleasant afternoon; bye now." All of it was very even and perhaps amused. There's a creepiness to the forced cheer and politeness. The phone call then ends.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue hears the phone conversation cut off and she lowers it from her face. She quickly texts Tony the details and asks him to listen to the conversation for himself (She knows he has that power, of course he does, he's Tony). <Something's up. Going to the hospital. May need help.)

And with that text sent, Rogue gives a glance around to her right and left and then leaps up into the air and takes to the skies, she's shot up into the sky like a bullet and starts curving her way around to the west to go cross over the Hudson River and head toward the dank horizon of Gotham City.
