Synopsis: Vision gets a familial surprise
Cast of Characters: Vision, Scarlet Witch, Magneto

Vision has posed:
Some people ask wether or not androids dream of electric sheep. The real question is, however, What do androids do to unplug. To relax. To unwind, if you will. Dreams, if they have them at all, can come later.

When the electronic world, full of limitless information, is literally a thought away the heft of good book can be, while primitive, somewhat soothing. Having to turn a page, carefully, to slow yourself down is something that takes practice. And it is a practice that the crimson skinned avenger has found to be, in his own way, 'relaxing' so far as the bio-synthetic construct can be relaxed. Dressed down in a light-knit turtle-neck sweater he cradles a hard cover copy of Avram Davidson's classic "The Golem'.

A record, "Tales of Mystery and Imagination" by The Alan Parsons Project (1976) spins on an old fashioned record player.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
It wasn't really the kind of conversation you wanted to have once, let alone two times. And, sadly, for Wanda, she was going to have to have it three times, if not four, by the time she was done. The conversation? How the twins came to be. Specifically, who their father was.

She'd made it clear that they were hers, and, indeed, any genetic scan done of them would confirm that. The matter of their paternal donation, however, was slightly up in the air (indeed, a scan would suggest that their paternal DNA might have been donated by Wanda's twin, Pietro, but that, too, could merely be a situation of the very unusual case of identical twins who do not share the same sex, and running into some rather convoluted genetics..). In short, Wanda was really the sole owner of the facts on this (and that, too, was a matter of some convoluted metaphysics that she was going to have to try to explain without confusing everyone further).

It's with a very weighed upon conscience that Wanda seeks out Vision and finds him in the Avengers mansion. And it's with an equally heavy mindset that she sends to her Papa, <<It is I wish to tell him alone, and then we will all speak together on how to proceed with the boys. It is that you will find out soon enough, yes? This is acceptable?>>

And no small measure of her discomfort that she does nothing to keep her father from merely joining her if he wishes.

Vision has posed:
Vision is of course not in the know about any of this scenario. At least not yet. He hasn't done more then socially interact with Wanda, and that rather lightly, since he return to the fold of the Avengers. So he has no idea what what is going on yet. He has been busy with his own.. problems. Things he hasn't told anyone of, nor is planning on telling them, until he can figure out his problems /mean/. Which is why, again, he is attempting to 'relax'.

Guess he is on for a surprise, huh?

The crimson Synthazoids's eyes open as he hears the door to the study open. He is not hooked into the mansions security systems (thats part of the relaxing) but his advanced analytical systems and internal memory stores have enough to work on the recognize the soft footfalls of whomever is entering.

"Ms. Maximoff.." he intones, softly, bot turning to face the door. Instead looking into the fire and then sipping his drink. "I hope you are well."

Scarlet Witch has posed:
The door to the study makes a creak that it otherwise wouldn't - of course it does; it saves Wanda from announcing herself. Equally oddly, should any wander down this hallway and decide they might wish to enter the study, the door is suddenly rendered stuck. Or locked. Or.. well, the gist of it is that the door does not open. Will not open while this awkward conversation takes place. It's a very small measure of privacy that can be afforded, even if Wanda is not aware that it has occurred.

She offers a crooked little half smile to Vision. "It is only Wanda, yes? And I am.." She pauses, fingers plucking at the edge of her shirt, to no effect, and exhales slowly. "I am well enough. It is I was wondering if you might have time to have a conversation? To maybe get to know one another better?"

As far as openings went, it was a beginning, even if it was terribly far off of the purpose of this conversation - however necessary it might be to the conversation.

Vision has posed:
Vision catches sight of the smile out of the corner of his eye and half-turns in his chair to full face her. setting his drink aside on the small table next to the old fashioned record player. He regards her with that (literally) inhuman sang froid of his. There is something in her tone that, while seemingly innocent, feels loaded some how. The synthazoid cannot pin down just what it is and, deep down, it frustrates him. But he of course doesn't show it.

"Of course I have the time for a conservation. As you can see I am not currently engaged in anything important." he says, then frowns just a little. "Though I am not sure of what you wish to know of me. Compared to most Avengers, my history is pretty well known. I was literally 'born' mere months before I became a member and all my exploits are well documented, both as an Avenger and before that while I was Ultron's herald. I do not know what else there if for you or anyone to know.." he says honestly, though at teh same time not THAT honest.. he just underestimates himself.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
For her part... Wanda is still feeling her place out with the Avengers. There are still times where she feels the weight of her and Pietro's past - how easily they could have become the antagonists in these wonderful tales of heroes. She is more than aware that Pietro still straddles that line with an alarming (and charming) ease. But really, none of what Vision says is what this conversation or visit is about, and were he to consider it, he might know that. Even if he does insist upon telling her his 'history' as though her suggestion of getting to know one another better were a truly legitimate reason for this meeting.

His story does bring a truer smile to her lips and still those fingers at her shirt, leaving her to smooth it down and move closer to the android. "You are right. There is so much that is known of you. And you are, as they say, the open book, no? But really, I think I meant more that we have not talked before, and that is how we do open these conversations." She nods, happy to accept this slightly new slant upon things. He has, after all, covered the 'get to know you' portion regarding himself.

Wanda makes to take a seat, where they can both converse and regard one another easily, barely having sat when it occurs to her, "Oh! It is perhaps that you would wish to know more about me, yes? And the music, it is important enough. We do all need times to spend to replenish our spirits. It would have also been okay to say that I did disturb and another time would be preferable."

Her smile, though, gentle as it is upon him, says that she is glad he did not turn her away.

Vision has posed:
Vision was just about to offer her a seat, something he should have done a little earlier. Usually he is much more polite. Not that he hasn't BEEN polite, but he is a bit off guard now for some reason, again something he cannot pin down. And again, frustrating.

"It is untrue that we have not spoken, Ms. Maximoff. In fact we have participated in a total exchange of over fifteen hundred words between twelve social and three martial interactions which could liberally be described as conversations." he tells her as he picks up his drink once more.

"But I will admit, these previous interactions were what could be considered as.. not very meaningful. WHat Mister Barton would call 'Social Fluff'..." he sips his drink and then leans back. "So forgive me for saying, but, It feels strange that you suddenly wish to converse. To 'get to know each other' with so little build up. I have to wonder if there is something more pressing on your mind that you need to form a rapport with me first, before you can bridge the subject that weighs on you."

Scarlet Witch has posed:
There's that sigh again, tempred by her gentle smile. "I am certain that Clint would be very proud of you for remembering social fluff. It is what we do, we humans - but you are not so far off from understanding." His summation of their interactions so far draws her smile from gentle to something of laughing. "So many words? Oh, my. And I do think some of those were from before we were all friends, yes? You are right, though, this is not just a social visit."

Vision gets an apologetic look from Wanda. "I am sorry that I have been remiss in coming to say hello before now. It is making this much more difficult." Her fingers smooth along the legs of her pants, each in turn. "And it is that this is a very difficult conversation that we are about to have. I confess, I do not quite know how to bring the matter up. Only, it does help if I do ask, perhaps, what it is you know of me?"

Vision has posed:
Vision holds a hand up. "No No, do not apologize. You were not remiss in any sense." he assures her. "So do not take my analysis as trying to make anything more difficult for you than it already seems to be." Because he really isn't trying to make things difficult. "I know that sometimes I can come off as very.. direct. Subtlty is something I have not fully mastered, at least in matters social."

He then takes a moment to think, or so it seems that it what he is doing,. For all she knows, he could be accessing files. Which is the same thing for him, and also not the same thing. It's complicated. "I know much of you. Both your official records and many less so. I know you are a twin, your brother also a mutant. You are of eastern descent, predominantly Romani I believe if the files are correct. I know you were perscuted. I know you were saved bythe Mutant Terrorist Magneto, and were part of his Brotherhood out of loyalty. Much as I fought for Ultron. I know that you renounced Magneto and turned to 'our' side.."

Scarlet Witch has posed:
There's a soft gasp of protest from Wanda, "He is not a Terrorist!" Only in her heart of hearts, much as she loves her Papa and wishes to believe he's changed, Wanda isn't sure that isn't a lie. "It is mostly that he cares so deeply for us. He wishes us to reach our potential..." Wanda shakes her head. "It is complicated. Mostly his love is misguided. But we are not here to talk about my Papa. Or even how I did choose to champion the side of, well, your side as you put it. It is that there is so much else we could say about this, and it would stop us from talking about why I came."

Her lips press into a thin, thoughtful line, and she gives Vision another apologetic look, this one complete with a shrug. "I can not think of a good way to say this, truly. And it is that shortly after I tell you, I will invite my Papa here, because it is too big for me alone, and, I think you will agree it is too big for you as well."

Her fingers fold into and upon themselves, much in the manner of wringing. "I did learn not too long ago that I have sons. Two very beautiful sons. And it is as well that they have a papa of their own."

Her gaze rests upon Vision and she waits.

Vision has posed:
Vision seems surprised by her defense of Magneto, and he cants his head slightly. "Your... Papa?" he asks, slowly... Then frowns more and seems to be looking into nothingness, though with great intent. "That is.. Not in any of my files.." he says slowly. He then focuses on her again and his eyes narrow. Not in anger, just in intensity. "Then again, I have not updated all my files since I returned. But That is neither here nor there. Truly. Ultron was, for all intents and purpose, my 'Papa'. It doesn't change who I am, I would hope.. And it doesn't change who /you/ are. In factor, it only strengthens your character. You turned away from him, and his ways. Yes, Miss Maximoff, he is a terrorist. He may feel he has a right to do what he does, or has done, and in some ways he just might be slightly justified. But he has been the cause of fear and death among humans and mutants alike. He has become the enemy, adopting their ways." he says, though there is no condcemnation. Just cold hard fact.

He then pauses again, blinking at her revelation. "You are a mother....?" he asks, sounding confused. "I.. do not see how this is possible. You have recently had a medical examination and the records do not show of any of the biochemical signs of having given birth. And these /are/ records I have updated." Yeah.. someone might wish to talk to him about medical privacy..

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Really, Wanda /should/ talk to him about that, and were it another day, or perhaps she were another person, she might bring it up. Instead, it's the segue that she needs.

"Yes," she says gently, "I know. And this is where I did ask what you knew of me. It is that, like yourself, I am perhaps more complicated than your average person. And it is also that I am..." Wanda flounders. This brushes along things that she finds hard to pin down into certainties, even for herself. "There are those who say that all the possibilities there are do exist all at once, and that we only know the one."

Wanda nods, and waits for him to catch up to that. "Only, sometimes it is that I know more than the one. I can feel others as they are. Not always, but sometimes. It is only part of who I am, and in this case, it is simplest to say that there was a Wanda who did have two beautiful boys and she did send them away to be safe from her Papa."

She makes a face. "Actually, this would be better if my Papa heard it now as well. It is already that perhaps I will have to tell this part too many times."

<<Papa? Please.. It is that now would be a good time for you to come and hear. I think he knows what I did not say. What I will say.>> There is a mental undercurrent of need from the woman. <<Please?>>

Magneto has posed:
As asked, Magneto steps in, no helmet, no costume. He is merely in a tailored suit. His white hair styled in the normal fashion for himself.

The man known as Magneto doesn't say anything as he enters, but his demeanor is that of strength, the rock that many saw in him, he would now be that same rock for his daughter. Once he enters and the door closes behind him, of course done by his powers, Magneto joins the others. "Wanda. And Vision, a pleasure." He says, softly, but even at his softest, that big stick was always with him, even if he had no intent to use it.

Vision has posed:
Vision 's bare crimson brow furrows as he tries to parse what she is saying, and a whole lot of what she is not. He is an analytical wonder, a deductive genius, but not when it comes to less that scientific things. Oh, he is well educated in social studies but that is academic, not from experience, and cannot always apply the models to situations that seem to somehow.

"You feel 'others'? As in.. what.. an empathic sense? I was not aware this was one of your abilities.. Then again, your powers have been notoriously difficult to quantify, by their very probability altering nature..." he says.. more for grasping on anything to say since he is more confused now than ever. "It sounds like you are almost speaking of Multiple Worlds theory, but I do not see how that relates to how you having children, not how it involves myself...."

He stops a suddenly someone else steps in. He had been so preoccupied trying to analyze this situation he had not paid attention to his own sensors.. Or maybe it was something Wanda did? Not that it matters. In picoseconds he recognizes the face of the new guest and he suddenly stands. Not agressively, but still quick. "Magneto." he says. One word. Soft. Calm. The yellow gem on his head glowing ever so slightly belying those two last things.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda holds up a hand in warning gesture. "No. We will not have an altercation. He is my Papa, and I did ask him to come. It is he has the same questions you will have, and I.." Her hand falls away, and her features take on an imploring look to Vision. "Please. This is hard enough for me. I will have to explain to the boys, and to a man I love dearly, how this did come to pass, and I can not until you do understand first. Because they are yours, Vision."

There. She's said it. The words an imporing call for peace from the woman before she moves along.

"It is not easy to explain. Only it is that I did and did not create them. And you are and are not the father, Vision. There is a Wanda who was not me, but is now me, who made them, and sent them to be safe from my Papa. And until I did meet them, they were not known to me. Only to her."

She gives Magneto an apologetic smile. "You do know you would have taken them and used them, Papa." She knows he still may, especially Tommy. She feels it. Knows it within her bones that of the two children, that one is most easily turned to her father's whims and ways.

Magneto has posed:
Magneto's gaze widens as she explains that their father was Vision.

As a show of good faith, Magneto takes an empty seat next to Wanda, no aggression. "Myself years ago, yes. I only wish to be there for them, now. I rule Genosha, the mutant haven. I know it's hard to believe, but I am happy where I am at, dear." His words genuine, He was at considerable peace amongst his people.

Vision has posed:
There are few people on the planet that Vision would be ready to strike down without much warning. Ultron, of course, being the top One, Two, and Three on his list. Really, He is all three. It makes sense, too, considering his many copies he has made of himself. So in the remaining four through ten of that list Magneto ranks at number five, just after Doctor Doom. The list is somewhat flexible, depending on the villains' motiviation fo the week.

But he stands sown the moment Wanda raises her hand, the Solar Gem diminishing in it's glow but not extinguishing. "Since it seems you were expecting him, that means you you had to have invited him.. So until I get the full explanation I will trust your judgement in inviting him here.. though I doubt it will be easy to explain to the others, after." he points out, though not unkindly.

Looking to magneto, he cants his head politely. "And greetings to yourself." he finally replies, before looking between Father and Daughter. "I can see why this.. situation.. would involve your father. Any child, or children, of yours would ubndoubtebly be powerful.. and I could understand, in another world where said childrena already existed, your other self would send them away to keep them out of Magneto's hands and, this, stop from turning them into Child Soldiers in his mad schemes to exact revenge on Humanity..." he looks at Magneto. "No offense.." he says, then looks back at Wanda. "I just do not see how this involves me..."

And then he looks like he was hit by a truck.. At least Metaphorically.

"Mine...?" he asks, his voice sounding strained with thick for the first time ever. "That.. That is not.. That is not possible. I mean.. I don't understand how...." he stumbles for words..

Scarlet Witch has posed:
"The others will not know," Wanda says quietly. "Not unless you tell them."

And, indeed, they won't. Magneto havving appeared by her will to allow him, and his presence masked by her will also. This meeting one under her protection. Or at least something akin to that.

"Papa, this is Vision. He is, as you see, not quite human, but he is perhaps the best person that I do know. He is, as I have said, the father."

Vision, likewise, gets introduced to Magneto. "Vision, this is my Papa, Erik. You do know him as Magneto. And, yes, you are correct, he has been somewhat a scourge upon humanity in the past, in seeking to lift mutants to the vision in his head. It is that he has been misguided, perhaps, in his desire to see us to better and not suffer for what we are. I have long argued with him the error of some of his ways."

She wisely does not speak of breaking him out of SHIELD. Nor does she tell either how close she came to taking away Magneto's powers for good. Or that she is quite capable of doing such a thing.

But Visions protests that it is not possible are met with a small shake of Wanda's head. "I know. That is what you wish to believe. And I wish that I could agree with you that it is true. Only, it is not true. It is that I can, I could, this very moment, repeat the performance, and show you how you are not only wrong, but how it was done. Only, I do think that perhaps two children neither of us expected is enough, yes?"

Her voice and features gentle, "You do not have even a small understanding of who and what I am. What I am capable of. But trust me in this, while it should not be, if you were to have the means, you would find that they are yours. And if you look into yourself, you will know that it is so."

Well, that last she's not so certain on. She's not really sure that Vision has a means to understand the intuitive or the gut feeling. But she hopes it works that way. That the universe will allow him to know what is true in this matter.

Magneto has posed:
The...colorful descriptions of Magneto from the other two garner a raised eyebrow. "Scourge upon humanity? My dear, one could have argued that the scourge was humanity upon mutantkind. You saw what..." He looks around the room, not the place to bring up such things. "But that is a debate for another time. For now, the matter at hand is that there are two boys, from what I can tell, fine lads. Of whom have been thrust upon a tremendous burden, their lineage."

Magneto gestures with his open palm. "Wether or not they wish it." He smiles with a bit of pride. "However, their mother is one of the best things I've done with my life. I would expect the same level of greatness in them both." More genuine words. He had great pride in his family.

Vision has posed:
Maybe that is the problem... Maybe he /does/ have the means to understand.. For all that he is synthetic he is still /alive/ and while he may not truly believe (yet) in something a ephemeral as a 'soul' that doesn't mean he doesn't have one himself, right? Like the old saying 'You don't have to believe in god, because he believes in you.'.

"it is not that I /want/ to disbelieve it, Wanda.." he says, using her first name for the first time in a long while. "It is just.. fact. I am a /synthetic/ life form." he then looks to Magneto. "Which is what she means when she says I am 'not quite human'. I am not human at all. I am a cybernetic organism in the most literal sense. A Bio-technical construct composed of synth-organic cells and augmented by technological systems, both nano and macro scale. My synthazoid tissue, derived of an analog of human dna using fabricated materials, /is/ compatible, theoretically, with a humans. As a graft or for organ transplant. My blood can even be processed by humans. I produce synthetic analogs of every human chemical and structure, but I ams till not /human/. I cannot see how my reproductive tissue would be viable..." he says, almost ranting now but then.. calms himself.. as best he can and looks at Magneto. "If we can agree on something, then it is that you are right in this one thing. She /is/ the best you ever did, though I am sure she did most of the work herself. Again, no offense. And I can even agree that these... alternate reality grandchildren, would probably be just as great as their mother was in that world, or who she is here. But..." he look back at Wanda. "You are right.. I do not understand who or what you truly are. But do you know who or what /I/ am?" he asks, honestly. "How can you know who I am when as much as I do know about myself, there is so still so much I still don't?"

Scarlet Witch has posed:
"Oh, Vision," Wanda says softly, almsot gently chiding him, "None of us know who and what we are, truly. I am only luckier than most in that I've seen so much of who and what I should be. What I am. What I can do. And even then it is not all clear to me. Some things are still always a surprise, like the boys."

There's a small chuckle for Magneto. "Papa. You say those things, and you make me want to believe you, and I do, but you are what you are also, and you will chafe. I know this. It does not change that there are reasons why I might have sent my children away from you. At least for long enough for them to become people in their own rights. Strong enough to resist all your rhetoric, and to be their own selves."

Even so, she already fears for the boys. Especially Tommy who seems totally taken with his new lot in life. Billy... Billy she sees so much more of herself in, and in him she has some hope of redemption.

To Vision, though, she can only say, "I will say this but once only, so that you might understand, and then you may argue all you wish what is and is not possible. It is that I can create a reality if I wish it. And I can open and close dimensions by my will. I do not speak of it often, because there are things that should not be public knowledge, and I say this with some regret in front of my Papa, but there is little I can not do if I set my will upon it. It is that there was an aspect of me who loved you enough to wish to have your children. So she did. With your consent and knowledge. Only, you are not me, so there is no memory of this within your psyche or your being. It is not enough for you to see them and remember. Only, they are yours. They have always been yours."

Magneto has posed:
Magneto shifts back into his chair, the explanation of just what Wanda can do, or at least the smallest bit...it's overwhelming. "Dear lord." Is all he can manage at first. Her words though, cut like a knife. "Wanda, give it time. I hope I can show the world, that I am serious about Genosha. About everything I said in the interview." Granted he hasn't done much to contradict himself at this point. But years of actions aren't easily taken away.

Vision has posed:
Vision is trying to compute all this.. which is a silly thing to say, since while he may have computers in him he isn't truly a computer himself. But his /is/ trying to computer, to figure out, the meaning off all this and he.. he just can't. Not that he doesn't want to. Not that he is unable. it's just to.. overwhelming, It's too fantastic, in the ancient sense. So fabtasic, so overwhelming, that the threat of one of the worlds premiere supervillians and the leader of a not friendly nation, standing mere feet away, is a paltry thing compared to the bombshells his Daughter has dropped.

"I.. I.. I.." It's like he is Max Headroom, caught in a glitch.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda rises to her feet, but not before shushing her father, letting him know that now is not the time. She approaches Vision, murmuring soft, unintelligeable words to him as she reaches out and takes his hands.

"Come. I have a gift for you." A sudden awareness and understanding of just what it is she can and should do for the man, and to show undeniably not only her powers, but how it is that this has come to pass.

At first her hands hold to his, and then, with a small noise, she smiles at Vision and reaches up to cup his face. "I give you this gift. For all that you have been, and will be." And while it is true that she could do for him what no other could, and make him nothing more or less than human, that is not the gift that Wanda Maximoff gives Vision. Instead, her hands warm his synthetic flesh as she fills his mind with the memories of his love for her. And hers for him. And how it was that the two of them became parents. Further.. the heartbreaking decision made to send the children away from a Magneto who had fallen so far away from any ability to be reached in his desire to bring mutants to their fullfillment as the chosen ones..

It's all there. Every iota that she has come to possess and know about the boys who are Tommy Shepherd and Billy Kaplan.

And when it is over, and he now knows the truth of it, all of it in his memory circuits as though he had lived it all, she lowers her hands and steps back, watching his face.

"Now, now do you understand?"
