Date of Scene: 02 June 2018
Location: Metropolis
Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Gorilla Grodd, Echo

Gorilla Grodd has posed:
"So I hear this guy is supposed to be some super villain?"

The second Metropolis Corrections officer loaded the cage into the back of the unmarked white van, "Don't look like no super villain to me."

"Guard's said he didn't talk the whole time..."

"Sure he talked, used sign language."

"I read on the internet this morning this guy supposedly turned people into Gorillas?"

The other guard shrugged. "They checked to see if he had human DNA. No trace. That means he's an animal. That means he is animal control's problem."

"No power cuffs?"

"He's a GORILLA. Strong but that's what the shock prods are for."

Both gaurds grinned to each other and slid the cage in the back of the van and slide into the front seat.

Echo has posed:
About three Chinese men and Maya Lopez are walking down the shadowy street as the clouds thicken overhead. Maya is wearing a dark jacket and she checks her pistol as she crosses the street, heading down a hill. The Chinese men all look about the same and seem to be carrying firearms under their shirts or in their belts.

The small group reaches the bottom of the hill where the street turns under a viaduct and camps out, waiting for the van, waiting to ambush it. One of the men says something in Chinese and Maya comments on what he says but seems focused on watching for that white van she was told to look for at a certatin time of day on route to Animal Control.

Thunder rumbles overhead and it begins to rain.

Gorilla Grodd has posed:
Gorilla Grodd is unaware of his underlings, "Helping" him since he has been avoiding any power use or significant intelligence whatsoever. He is deliberately acting as dumb as a human; so even stupider than a Gorilla (uplifted or not) and the guards by now regard him as harmless. He hears the rain and enjoys it. He remembers, quite literally, the rains down in africa...but knows he will be there soon enough. Caught? Fair enough.

He will make them all pay for their arrogance. And he has the patience to do it.

The van drives blithely along. Who would ambush an animal control job?

Echo has posed:
Maya points up the hill as the van drives along its route, just as expected, just as she was told. There's a small Chinese man just under the viaduct at the bottom of the hill, standing there in the shadows out of the rain. As the Van comes closer, he pulls out his pistol and fires on the driver, shooting into the windshield directly at the man. PEW PEW! His silenced pistol goes off.

The other two men have positioned themselves with Maya's direction on the other side of the viaduct and fire after the first man starts, aiming for his passenger. PEW PEW! PEW ! The two of them unload into the window. PEW! PEW!

Gorilla Grodd has posed:
The two men are taken out rather easily. Both men are riddled with bullets. The car starts to spin out of control and then for some reason, contrary to all the laws of physics, just STOPS. There is a moment where all those present can feel a palpable RAGE, the kind that would make hairs stand on the end of their necks or send lesser men cowering in fear. The source is not immediately identifiable.

Then it suddenly stops and the van sits there in the rain. If opened, a Gorilla inside looks frightened and almost cute, wide eyes looking around confusedly. He is saying something in American Sign Language.

Gorilla Grodd has posed:
Gorilla Grodd says, "What is going on? Who are all of you? Why did you kill these poor innocent men?" signs rapidly with a slight African accent."

Echo has posed:
The two Chinese men frown at the behavior of the van, half expecting it to bump into the viaduct pillar but glance at each other as it doesn't. Maya steps up next to the men and points at the van, opening the back doors herself to see the gorilla inside. She looks at the animal in the dirty cage and looks sad. She does some sign language like a champ and says, "Your release has been paid for. Do not fear," she tells the frightened animal.

The small man opens the driver's side door and checks the engine, pushing the dead man over. He says something in Chinese.

Gorilla Grodd has posed:
Gorilla Grodd sighs. And those who can hear, hear him sigh. He isn't QUITE ready to break cover. This could be a sting by the Justice League to wake up the locals. He signs, "Who hired you? It's important for me to know." He adds after a moment specially after he looks her up and down and smiles, "I am Grodd. Thank you."

Echo has posed:
Maya nods to what the small man says, apparently acknowledging what he has reported about the van. She signs his name, "Yohei," she tells Grodd, "He coordinates all the enforcers for the family. And makes sure I get the right men," she adds. The two men next to Maya climb into the van. The small man turns over the engine while the two men shoved into the passenger seat bleed over themselves. Maya climbs into the back and shuts the doors, saying something in Chinese, apparently telling the man to take off.

Gorilla Grodd has posed:
Gorilla Grodd nods and relaxes, "Ah yes. Yohai." He says this in sign and out loud. "Tell him I appreciate it...but that you are to leave me here. I have a plan. Thank you Yohei. Tell them "Grodd 4571" and they will give you the payment. You should not linger too long but I do approve of your operations. I am running a bit of a deception on the fine city of Metropolis.

Echo has posed:
Maya says something in Chinese and the small man stops the van at the top of the hill, "Leave you here? In the middle of the city?" she wonders, "Are you sure?" she asks the gorilla.

The two Chinese men glance at each other again, maybe thinking that this is a strange job.

Gorilla Grodd has posed:
Gorilla Grodd nods, "The humans need to be taught a lesson. That they took me to 'animal control' despite my ability to sign," he says in English and sign, "is unconcionable." It is interesting that he uses the pajoritive in such a way but seems to exclude the humans present in the subtext. "And teach them a lesson I will.

Echo has posed:
Maya Lopez opens the back door and the cage holding the captive Grodd, not sure what to say about Grodd's diabolical plot. "Tell Yoshei if you need anything from the family," she tells him, "Are you sure you don't want out of the city? It might be safer," she asks.

Gorilla Grodd has posed:
Gorilla Grodd says, "It would be safer, but if I wanted to be safe I would never have left Gorilla city. If you are amenable to the contract, I would appreciate you keeping an eye on the shelter from time to time. I might signal a need for something or want extraction without using my abilities anyway. As you have no doubt been made aware, we can certainly afford it. Your assistance is noted and appreciated."

Echo has posed:
Maya Lopez keeps the door open for Grodd as she says, "Alright, I understand," she comments, not giving much away about how she feels about it but maybe she feels nothing about it. The ice cold Maya adds, "If it is an important job, the family will probably want me to handle it."

Gorilla Grodd has posed:
Gorilla Grodd is fairly empathic even without telepathy. He softens, "You had nothing but good intentions in what you did here. You are an exemplary person. If this contract does not appeal to you, you absolutely are not required to do it. You can tell them I said to find someone else if you like. Not that I would not mind something pleasant to look at outside of the walls of my cell.

Echo has posed:
Maya Lopez doesn't seem to react to Grodd's complements but says, "The only thing I have is the family. They raised me. I support them. Most heroes are hypocrits anyway," she says in a negative way, "I am not trying to be a good person. Just let me know what you want done and when," she adds.

Gorilla Grodd has posed:
Gorilla Grodd nods, "Then I want you and your crew in three positions around the shelter. Watch for either a visual signal by mirror or an audible roar of a specific pattern that the parameters will be provided to your people. Keep this to the current crew only. Need to know. No one outside this group. You have a contract my dear.
