Cast of Characters: Volt, Rift

Volt has posed:
Night has already fallen. The velvety black sky is dotted with pinpoint stars, the air is warm, and crickets are chirping in the distance. Drake's been adapting to the Institute. It's definitely a change of pace, and he isn't sure he really 'fits in' with the others quite yet, but he's making an effort. Still, if there's one thing that the west-coast teen can always count on to be his zen, it's water. Perhaps it's ironic, given his mutation, but it's been true for as long as he can remember.

This evening, Drake's even dressed for it. Thanks to a school stipend, he's gotten a fresh wardrobe and is finally, /finally/ looking his best. He's been in the water recently, skin still mildly aglisten under the surrounding sconces as he sits on the edge, his shins hanging in the water.

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua walks towards the pool, smiling softly. "Hello Drake," she states, as she sits on the bench by the pool. She's wearing an over-long red T-Shirt over what's most likely a swimsuit. "I'm so glad that you found somewhere to belong..." She trails off. "I thought you said you had electricla powers - those and water don't mix, right?"

Volt has posed:
Drake Riley notes the girl on approach and straightens his posture a little. She's not sitting beside him, so he has to twist at the shoulder to look to her. "We're.. figuring that out," he mentions. "The belonging thing. Not the powers. You're right about that. But unless I actually /use/ them, it's completely safe." His chin tips upwards slightly. "And I have very, very good control over that. Top priority when I first discovered'em. I think I might've even mentioned that to ya."

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua nods. "Yes..." she states as she pulls the T-shirt off as she slips into the water, sighing happily. The red bikini you saw at the beach is being worn once more. "Come on in, the water's fine," she states. "The pool heater's doing great - I don't even need to glow for this water." She smiles.

Volt has posed:
Drake Riley steals a glance over her as she pulls off the shirt. It's an unconscious reaction! Can't be helped! And as soon as she makes the invitation, he slips into the water after her, sinking a ways before his feet touch the pool floor. "Mmn, yep. Been taking advantage of that tonight..."

He drifts a little further in, but keeps his emerald gaze on her. "So, how do you like it here? You got a lott'a friends?"

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua nods. "Been here for six years now. It's a great school. Make friends... do some training..." She sighs happily. "I... I still miss my parents. I don't even know were they are - they disowned me when my powers kindled... can't quite blame them - they tore the family house apart..."

Volt has posed:
Drake Riley scrunches up his expression a little. "I feel like you told me this earlier...," he mentions. He paddles a little harder to close the distance with her in the water. "That had to be rough, though. And you're not alone - my dad did the same to me. But for less of a reason." He reaches through the water to gently fistbump towards her midsection. "I'm glad you're here, though. I got to meet ya before coming, and that makes things easier.."

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua nods. "Yes - it does," hse states, returning the fistbump. "And not even a bruise left from Boris' panicked bearhug," she states; with enough lights that you can see. "Which is also good. So - you came just as school was ending... how's your... educatoin status?"

Volt has posed:
Drake Riley tenses his abdomen when her fist bumps him, and his gaze lowers to hers, noting the lack of marring. "Oh, I definitely noticed. You look hot- great." Blink. "Great. Is what I said." His eyes flit back up to her face. "Education status..?," he asks before catching her meaning. "Oh! Uh, no idea. Maybe some classes over the summer to fast-track graduation? Maybe a whole other year of friggin' highschool. I have no idea. S'my own fault for bailing and doing hoodrat things, so.. whatever."

Rather than dwell on the impending misery of future schoolwork, he puts on a challenging smile and perks an eyebrow at her. "So what'd Boris do to get to bearhug ya? What's the method?"

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua shrugs. "Boris is apparently afraid of levitation. I levitated him up and he panicked." She shrugs. "He's far stronger than he looks. I still have a twinge every now and then but they have a very good doctor at this school."

Volt has posed:
Drake Riley blinks at her very literal response, a bit deflated. "Oh. Okay." At first, he's wondering if his attempted flirtation soared overhead. But after a few more moments, he's settled with the idea that it was a 'gentle' rebuff. So he backs it off. Fists drop from hips, and he's simply standing in the water with her. "Well, give it a little more time. Apparently you recover like a beast. Or the meds here are top-notch. Either way."

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua grins. "Well..." She then gives you a big bearhug. "I do like hugging people!" She then smiles faintly. "But you asked - beside, Boris isn't my type..." She giggles softly as she swims a bit close. "Actually, I recovered BECUASE of Beast," she mutters, smirking widely.

Volt has posed:
Drake Riley suddenly finds himself latched onto by an attractive girl in a bikini. Eyes widen, and his arms loop her waist in return after a moment's delay from surprise. Clearly he's having a hard time pegging this chick. "So, then...," he starts with a nervous swallow, "...what /is/ your type?"

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua shrugs. "Nice boys who don't mind that I'm a mutant - and don't mind that I'm pretty powerful..." She floats there, a few feet from you, drifting away for you seemed a bit uncomfortable. "I'm not that picky really - I haven't really had a serious boyfriend. But I'm in no real hurry."

Volt has posed:
Drake Riley sees her drifting back, and he considers her a moment. A couple bobbing steps are taken closer to her. "I'm /probably/ nice," he offers with a boyish smile. Drake pauses then, canting his head to her. "I wouldn't wanna pressure ya or anything. But for the record, I think anyone'd be pretty lucky to be with a girl like you. You're nice," he glances over her through the water again, "/definitely/ attractive...," his eyes lift to her face again with a guilty smile as he continues, "and at least one guy digs your powers. Flying is freakin' boss."

He reaches forward through the water again to gently fistbump at her stomach again. "So, if you'd like sometime, we could.. y'know.. get food or something..?"

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua smiles softly. "Of course..." she muses. "But you don't know what you're getting into. I recommend you let me pay for dinner. Else you'll be broke." She giggles softly. "I basically eat triple what a normal person does - the price I pay for bending the laws of physics..." She smiles faintly... and suddenly starts to glow, her aura engulfing herself and her swimsuit in a dull red glow with the bright liens visible inside her chest, head, arms, and legs. "And my alternate appearance doesn't bother you either?" she asks softly, studying you with glowing eyes.

Volt has posed:
It was so subtle, Drake almost missed it. But his eyes widen and his smile spreads. "If you say so," is all he responds with to her commentary on eating. He's pretty sure she'd explained that before as well - it sounds familiar. Didn't she mention it in the kitchen of this very mansion?

When the aura flashes into existence, he recoils, startled. "O-oh. Wow." He squints at her face, then looks down over her figure, noting the lines along her body. It takes him several long seconds to manage an answer as he just takes in her appearance, the details of her glowing, inhuman physique. But when he does, it's with a small smile. "Mm'no, doesn't bother me. You look cool."

His eyes travel back up to her face. "You said yes," he notes. "Right?"

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua smiles. "I said yes," she states softly. "But I had to know if you could accept this part of me - when I use my powers, this is what I look like." She smiles faintly. "But I'm still me. Just... glowy." She notes that the entire pool has a red sheen to it. "I always thought it weird that it looks like the bones in my arms are glowing softly..."

Volt has posed:
Drake Riley had noted the glowy pool, but has taken to trusting her. She wouldn't be using it if somehow mixing her glowy self with the water would be dangerous, right? But her drawing attention to her arms gets another look, followed by an abrupt, light laugh. "You don't look like a cartoon electrocution, no. You look fine! You've got your distinct thing going on."

Drake bobs closer to her. "I admit that I like the natural look better, but that's because it's less shiny. Easier to look at. Plus, c'mon." His head cants with a coy smile. "You're /really/ pretty."

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua smiles faintly as the glow fades. "Well, thank you," she states softly. "Very kind of you." She giggles softly. "And you'er a very handsome boy now that you're not in bum clothes."

Volt has posed:
Drake Riley laughs and winks an eye at her. "Welcome." The compliment she gives him gets another grin, playful and teasing. "You mean, now that I'm wearing only a pair of trunks?" He drifts closer and tilts, aiming to shoulderbump with the shorter girl.

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua smiles. "Now that you are well-groomed, and with proper hygeine - and not dirty..." She trails off. "Sorry, oh my god that sounded rude." She sighs softly as she giggles, then gives you a good splash.

Volt has posed:
Drake Riley ducks and turns his head against the splash! "Gah!" He then lunges towards her, attempting to seize her by the shoulders to quickly dunk her! Naturally, he'll turn her loose afterwards. "Terribly rude. You owe me more hugs," he asserts pointedly, and insincerely. It's an obvious ploy just to get hugs out of her.

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua yelps as she's dunked, then grabs your legs underwater and pulls them out from under you to return the favor then surfaces again. "Heh... fine - if you want a hug, come and get it," she coooos, smirking at you.

Volt has posed:
Drake Riley makes a garbled noise of distress when his legs are yanked, briefly slipping under the surface. When he pops up again, he takes a moment to whisk his hair back from his face. Those persistent bangs fall right back into place over his right eye, however.

Her smirk is returned, and Drake moves in close. His arms reach through the water to loop around her waist and draw her in against himself, supporting her face-to-face, his emerald green gaze set to her reds.

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua giggles as she leans against you - then does a quick kiss on the lips. "You caught me - there's your prize," she cooooos, putting her arms around you as well.

Volt has posed:
Drake Riley blinks at the sudden kiss, taken by surprise again. He gives a breathy snicker and tilts his head to gently bump his brow to hers. "Yeah. You made it a real challenge," he teases quietly. His head then tilts a bit further, aiming to press a soft kiss back to her lips. Unlike hers, he intends to let it linger a second or two, testing the metaphorical waters as it were.

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua smiles faintly as she accepts the kiss and presses against you, sighing happily as she enjoys this. She then gazes at you, smiling. "So - did you ever think that when some glowing girl jumped out of a hole in midair that she'd be your girlfriend?" she finally asks.

Volt has posed:
Drake Riley brushes his right hand up and down along her back, the other arm pulling her waist a little more tightly against himself. Once the kiss is broken, his head tilts back to return her gaze. "Gotta say, I didn't. But when I saw how that girl looked in a bikini afterwards, I hoped she would be." He winks at her, then tilts his head to lightly, playfully brush his nose against hers. "Did you think the homeless dude slumming it on the beach would be your boyfriend?"

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua smiles as she murmurs, "You look great in trunks too," she states. "I never considered that possibility - but let's see how a first date goes before we start announcing it to everyone else," she muses as she rests her head on your shoulder.

Volt has posed:
Drake Riley slips his right hand up behind her shoulder, keeping her body snug against his in the water. "I guess we know what to wear around each other, hrm?," he muses. His head tilts low to place a light kiss against the side of her neck. "We can keep it low-key 'til we have our date. But'cha already called yourself my girlfriend~," he teases.

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua smiles faintly. "Yes I did," she muses, sighing happily. "But it's a provisional till the first date... which I presume will be close..." She smiles faintly. "This is so comfy..."

Volt has posed:
Drake Riley nods, which happens to cause him to nuzzle the previously-kissed neck. "Probably. I mean, I don't have a car or anything. And I can't fly. And flying ain't subtle.." He shifts a little, brushing against her as he settles in. "Little disappointed you're not /actually/ a wrestler, though," he teases with a grin. "Had lots'a fun mental images of ya there."

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua grins widely. "Well - I'm not a wrestler. But I do a lot of acrobatics... it's kind of my thing." She ponders. "Let's get out of the pool and just... get to know each other better," she states, gazing at you as she lets go and goes to climb out of the pool.

Volt has posed:
Drake Riley clicks his tongue. "Not quite the same thing," he teases. "Gotta admit, I'm a wrestling fan."

Her proposal gets an inquisitive eyebrow-perk, studying her eyes as he lets her slip back. He follows after her, not breaking that eye-contact until she starts to lift out of the water. His gaze falls appreciatively over her figure again as he lifts himself out of the pool to join her. "Sounds good to me. Lead the way," he invites, detouring briefly to grab his previously-discarded towel.
