When the muggers get mugged!

Location:	Gotham City
Synopsis:	A mugging is interrupted by Kid. Who is interrupted by Batgirl.

Kid has posed:
Gotham China basin. Run down, plenty of crimes, confusing layout, trahs and smells best left in the 'do not think about it' catagory of things! This city corner of crime and degenerates is the perfect hunting grounds. Least untill the parks clear up! Least that is Kid's thought!
    The large man in his human 'mobster' disguise was going across the rooftops. The buildings just close enough for him to make the leap to get across. He stumbles and holds his belly growling. He needed to feed - and the 'distractions' latter haven't been helping. And that when he hears it - A cry for help - a cry that ment potentially an easy target.
    Moving across the rooftops, sticking to the shadows best he can he peers over into an alley. Down in it, was a small band of thugs and muggers surrounding what looked like an old man, shaking in his boots. Only one seemed to have a weapon, though the other could be conseling there. After all, it was one old man, no need to pull out the big guns. Just a dagger will do.

"I am getting tired of this old man. Just give us everything.." goes the armed thug

"Please, I gave you my money, my wallet! My grandson needs this medicine" the old man replies holding the box close

The thug get closer threateningly "Wrong answer old man. Seems your kids going to lose more than some medicine." and with that he bring up his dagger posing to strike.

Batgirl (Cain) has posed:
    The rooftops are always occupied by others in Gotham City. They never follow the same route, they never do the same thing, yet they are always out there. Somedays it is the full crew. Other times, just one or two of them. There are no nights where they are not present unless there is a crisis that has pulled them away.
    Batgirl was working her way through a patrol that had been routine. A few muggings, a convenience store break-in. Nothing Earth shattering and they were all easily taken down by the young woman in black.
    As she rushes across the next rooftop, she hears the cry and skids on the gravel roof without a sound. The boots cancel the noise that might've been heard. Her head snaps in the direction of the call and she darts that way, firing a grapple to allow a swinging arc to the rooftop across from the alleyway.
    Out of the darkness which hides her form comes a batarang, aimed for the hand holding the dagger. Time to even the odds a little. She doesn't swing into the fray yet though.

Kid has posed:
The dagger is knocked from the thugs hand as he lets out a startled "What the hell!" grabbing his wrist pained from being hit! As the batarang lands and the thugs notice the weapon, they slowly begin pulling out guns and knives looking uneased. A bat was around.

Of course this came in annoyance to Kid. He let out a beastial growl. He was about to jump and land. A simple grab, run and done. But this made things more complicated...he can't afford to lose this oppertuunity.

He jumps down landing next to old man who let out another startled yelp. Weapons turn on Kid and the old man, before they looked confused. One ventures to ask "...wh...who are you?"

Kid raises his hands and signs the word "Hungry" his watch doing the talking. They all seemed confused, before Kids massive hand grabs the old man by the head lifting. The old man struggles a moment before going still. Kid drops the old man who now layed there, the box spilled over.

They thugs back up as Kid Signs "Whose next?" the watch sounding the words out. As they raise the weapon, Kid dodges to the side the bullet sparking off the back concrete wall.

Batgirl (Cain) has posed:
    When the man appears from the building above, dropping and landing with ease, Batgirl realizes she made a mistake. She was intent on the thugs. She didn't think to scan the other rooftops to see if there was someone present.
    As she fires her grapple line into the building across the way, everything feels like it's in quicksand. The big man signing a word. Then grabbing the old man. Everything is blowing up as she swings into the air.
    As she arcs across the roadway, her cloak spreads out behind her like the wings of a bat, blotting out the light from the moon and casting the thugs into shadow.
    Her descent brings her in with each foot aimed at a thug's face, intent on taking out two of them with simply arriving. She fires a batarang in the direction of the newcomer, aimed for his head, pretty sure he isn't a good guy either in this mess.

Kid has posed:
Even Kid had to look up as he saw the shadow above - who could not? This was a firsy for him. Officers, sure, bystanders fighting back? Common enough. But this was the first hero he has faced.
    The thugs Batgirl strikes with feet are tossed back into some trashcans, rats scattering as the two moan in pain, their weapons falling from their hands. As for the batarang, it Kid tries to dodges it - but is unsuccessful getting slashed across the eye, his head turning with the strike.

Other thugs are now trailed on Batgirl, being a much more known and very clearly dangerou threat! Two goons go after her in melee range, breaking out their knives and a bat to try and take her down. One slashing at her head and the other trying to swing a pipe at her ribs
    Two more behind them draw guns to shoot at her. But that didn't keep an eye on Kid! Kid being momentarily forgotten grabs the gun-wielding things to lift up. Much like the old man they struggle at first....and than nothing. They are dropped far more carelessly than the old man.
    There was a third with a gun, but he was on the opposite side of the guns. He too draws a gun, but he wasn't aiming at Batgirl, but at Kid. He fires with shaking hands. And was apparently successful as Kid lets out a beastial roar grabbing his shoulder.

Batgirl (Cain) has posed:
    Taking out numerous thugs at a time? Normal. Nightly. But this is going odd more and more. There is something strange about how the big stranger can pick people up then they stop fighting. He isn't crushing their skulls that she can tell. But her ability to read body language is missing whatever he is actually doing to them.
    The sets of warning bells. As he roars in apparent pain, she has her hands full. A quick dodge and spin brings her foot up and around in a roundhouse kick, aiming to take out one of the knives. She brings up her armor covered arms and takes the pipe blow there instead of her ribs. She does bring her arm down, grabbing the pipe. She knows the man is going to try to yank it back toward himself, out of her grip. So she does the unexpected. She helps him. She shoves the pipe as hard as she can toward him. When combined with his own yank, hopefully it'll strike him directly in the midriff and knock him out of the fight a moment.

Kid has posed:
The dagger is knocked away like it was no one buissness, sliding beneath an old dumpster. The round house kick sending him stumbling backwards. Deciding to cut his losses, that thug begins to run as fast as he can down the alley. The sound of sirens in the distance can be heard - between the gun shots and the roar they were likely called.

The second man with the pipe though isn't so lucky. His body read perfectly, the force of his yank with Batgirl's boost has him doubling over in pain. He grits his teeth his eyes closed tightly from it. just trying to catch his breath

Kid on the other hand was something else. While his body language may have been doing something she was missing - now it was undeniable. He was ENRAGED! It could be felt as much as seen by his body posture. He didn't look at batgirl...but past her to the other gun wielding thug. Kid runs forward jumping up to firescapes edge and than swings himself over Batgirl down towards the man. It was at this moment, with the mans eyes wide and his body frozen in fear and his face set in shock that it dawned on him "He done F*ed up!". If the Kid lands on his target this time...there is a very real potential the thug might just die from the force.

Batgirl (Cain) has posed:
    She hasn't called for help. She probably should have. Batgirl was too busy trying to fix the problem she caused by missing the stranger on the rooftop. Now there are bodies on the ground and she isn't sure if they are alive or dead, since she can't take the time to really look at them.
    The man trying to catch his breath is punched in the face. Hard. Fast. No mercy as she tries to take him out of the fight before he can wind up for round two.
    As the man performs acrobatics that would make the Bat Crew proud, she sees where he is going. THe rage. The intention.
    She can't let it happen, even to a thug.
    Two steps and she is diving, going for a tackle to shove the other man out of the way of the enraged behemonth.
    Which puts her right where he would've been...

Kid has posed:
The hard fast punch was good enough to take that thug out for good and like the other he topples. The running thug has long since left! But as for the man just saved by Batgirl, he rolls backwards and lands on his stomech. He slowly pushes himself up and looks back to what was happening

Kid sees Batgirl taking the mans place-his body tensne and relaxing as if deciding wheather to take a killing blow or not....he doesn't his limbs spread and he lands JUST above Batgirl, his massive form nearly about to crush her. Even one looks and his eyes seem far from human - they were animilistic. He was a wild animal in this moment...and yet he wasn't unintillegiant. He was caught between man and beast. Oddly up close - the wound he should have had wasn't there, nor did he seem to have a bullet wound. More was going on here.
    The moment is broken though as the saved thug begins to run. Out beyound the alley there were flashes of red and blue. A decisive decision is made and the man leaps away from Batgirl, survival instinct taking the place of rage. He ascends the side of firescape side quickly - far quicker than it would be going the normal way and hauls himself over onto the roof.

Batgirl (Cain) has posed:
    The lenses of her mask keep him from seeing the eyes behind it. Batgirl stares at the figure inches above her. He had managed to stop himself. Somehow, someway. It was close though. Too close. He could reach out a hand and grab her head, like he did the others. Yet, he had tried not to land on her so maybe he didn't want to hurt her.
    She had her arm prepared and was focusing, reading to drive it into the side of his ribs but then he was gone, leaping up and away.
    She flipped back to her hands then to her feet, firing a grapple line as she did. It tinked into the stone far above and she hit the button. The line retracted, drawing her up with a flare of her cape behind her. A moment later, she was over the edge of the opposite roof, the alleyway between her and where Kid went.
    Her brow was furrowed beneath her mask, lips twisted down in a frown. It was extreme enough that the expression even showed despite the full mask that hid every inch of her skin from sight.

Kid has posed:
Kid could be seen moving away, hopscotchin cross the roofs best he can. His movement was funny and was dripping some blood. He would need to get that looked at, but he wasn't sticking around.

As for below. If Batgirl stuck around long enough, she would here a bit of conversation "What happened here. They said someone was fireing a gun or having a dog fight or something"
    Another officer comments "No clue...looks like some folks got beaten. But.." he bends down to the people Kid had grabbed "some of these people...looks like they just fell asleep. No sign of injury on the head or any of the usual signs for concussive blow. For now let get them to a hospital, find out what happened if we can"

Batgirl (Cain) has posed:
    They aren't dead.
    That is what Batgirl is focused on. So the mysterious stranger actually helped in the fight. Maybe.
    She reaches up her finger to the side of her cowl, touching a button and sending in the video to Oracle.
    There was new player in Gotham City. She wanted to be sure the crew knew to be careful. Maybe they would have a better idea what he did. They could also follow up at the hospital later to find out what he had done precisely.
    She does cross over to the roof he vacated but only so she can pull out a small tube from her belt. She carefully gathers a sample of the blood, places the stopper in the vial, then tucks it back into her belt.
    Back to patrol for now. But she'd be more aware and on the lookout for the stranger.
