Black Panther has posed:
Partly overcast skies hover over New York, casting moving rays of sunshine across the cityscape. The city hums as it always does with millions going about their lives. It is warm, but not too humid for once. A decent day.

Right on time, a long black limousine pulls out of the flow of traffic and to the curb. A tall black man dressed in a dark suit with subtle patterning emerges from the vehicle to wait and hold the door open.

"Ms. Van Dyne," he greets you in heavily accented English. "The King is eager to meet you," he says and holds the door open for her. Inside, the limousine is like so many others. This one has light brown upholstery with gold and black patterns throughout. Provided she settles in, the limousine is soon off into traffic, gliding smoothly along. It stops in Manhattan at the Wakandan embassy where an elegant woman offers to lead the way to the king.

The invitation had come a few days earlier with no specific indication of intent. Just a very polite invitation to meet the King of Wakanda at the embassy.

Finally, after being led through the glass and black steel building, Janet is led into a large room with glass windows dominating one wall. There is a desk, with a man seated there dressed in a black and purple tunic who rises when Janet is shown in. Nearby stands a tall, bald black woman in red armour.

"Ms. Van Dyne, it is an honour to meet you. Thank you for coming," T'Challa says, coming over to offer a hand.

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
Janet shows up in a fairly classis female business suit, mostly black with the occasional yellow accent. She didn't want to annoy the other people of Wakanda, especially his guards. But once she gets close to T'challa, she shakes his hand with a smile. "Please, call me Jan....if I can call you T'challa. How're you doing? Especially in New York. this city, king or not, can really do a number on you."

Black Panther has posed:
The woman in armour stiffens but T'Challa gives a small gesture and she relaxes.

"In private, of course," T'Challa says with a smile. He gestures to invite Jan to sit at a collection of chairs and couches around a coffee table near the windows and their view of the city. He offers refreshment, and takes a seat as Jan does.

"It is always impressive," he says, referring to the city. "Every time I am here, I learn something, see something new, and meet interesting people. Part of me envies you for living here."

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
Jan looks to the woman in armor and tilts her head before looking to T'challa. "Personal guard?" She then shrugs and actually flops into her seat near him. "As long as you don't mind controlled chaos, but the only reason I'm so successful is the fashion empire. Don't worry, you're still King of Wakanda. Just....friendship tends to be on a first name basis I think." She then turns towards T'challa. "What brings you here?"

Black Panther has posed:
Seeing her look toward the woman in armour, T'Challa introduces her. "This is Okoye, one of the Dora Milaje who protect the King. She goes everywhere I go, and keeps me out of too much trouble," he says with a grin.

Okoye hmphs, but nods to Jan. "It is an honour to meet you," she says.

"I hope we can be friends," T'Challa says, picking up on Jan's comment. "That is why I am here. To meet you, and personally make an offer of friendship."

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
"Of course. I'm surprised you didn't go to the avengers first, but....I'll take it." Jan teases T'challa. She then looks to Okoye. "I'm never going to get your title right consistently, so....forgive me if I call you 'Royal guard'. I might be able to speak spanish, but Wakandan? No way." She then looks at T'challa. "Plus, keeping HIM out of trouble must be a tall order." She then looks to T'challa. "So you're going to set up a Wakandan Embassy here?"

Black Panther has posed:
T'Challa's smile is genuine, even if Okoye's is forced.

"The embassy is almost ready for its grand opening, part of our opening to the world. But the part I wanted to speak with you about was an offer to the Avengers. Wakanda would like to do its part to keep the world safe; I would like offer my friendship and my help to the Avengers."

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
"Well...that'll be a tall order, T'challa. Captain America can be pretty hard to please. then there's Stark. For Thor....Just watch his back during a fight and he'll offer you an ale. Don't refuse." Jan then looks up to Okoye...then back to T'challa. "Other than Cap and Stark, just help out when you can....and I'm sure membership will be offered."

Black Panther has posed:
"Drinking with the God of Thunder must be an experience," T'Challa says. He nods to Okoye, who frowns, then crosses her arms and makes her way out of the room.

"I am glad you mention Captain America and Mr. Stark. I have been told before they are not easy men to deal with. How would you suggest the Black Panther should approach them?"

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
"they are both men of ego. Cap is a war veteran from world war 2. yes, that makes him pretty old but he fights a lot better than most people. Stark.......is really really complex. Mostly, he's self-centered and snarky, but there is a real mechanical genius underneath of all of it. More than likely, you can offer your help to them....which you've done already....and you'll be an ally. Eventually ou'll work your way in." She then ponders. "Couple of warnings. Rogue.....do not touch her skin-to-skin....."

Black Panther has posed:
T'Challa nods as Jan talks, listening intently. He raises an eyebrow at the comment about Rogue though. "I do not think that will be a problem. But I am curious about why such a warning is needed."

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
Janet van Dyne says, "She's a mutant. her power is....when she makes skin-to-skin contact.....she can take someone's powers......and their memories, and potentially put them into a coma." She then takes a deep breath. "It's why she wears a full body suit....complete with gloves." She then shrugs sadly. "Rogue is a wonderful friend....and I hug her every chance I get." She then holds up a second finger. "And.....do not upset David Banner. Disagree with him if you might, and argue if you're sure of yourself....but do not piss him off.""

Black Panther has posed:
T'Challa nods and looks empathetic as she explains about Rogue. "That would make for a lonely life,"he says.

"I will be careful with Dr. Banner. Even I would not like to fight against the Hulk!" he says with a smile. "I appreciate the warnings. It had been a difficult decision to know whether to approach you or Ms. Romanova, but I am glad I came to you first. My sources said you were very reasonable, and they were right! What kind of help do you think the Avengers need most right now?"

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
"I don't know. It's certainly not financial. People are most welcome, but not everyone can be an avenger. Some people just want glory and none of the work. I should warn though....there may be times ou can't have Okoye with you. I'm sure the world doesn't know you are the Black Panther, and Okoye would give that away in a heartbeat. I think, what the Avengers need now, are people they can trust...."

Black Panther has posed:
"I think Okoye will need that warning more than I will," he says with a smile. "But I understand, and that it will not be easy. And to prove that I am committed, I have arranged to be spending a great deal of time in New York so that I am availble. And in time, I hope to earn your trust; having people you can trust is precious," he says, the last as much to himself as Jan.

"I think I can also offer something practical. I have heard that Mr. Stark has been investigating the organisms that have appeared all over the world. Some of our best scientists have been working on the problem as well. Perhaps Mr. Stark would appreciate sharing information?"

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
"Of course. And I'll have my own uses as well." Jan says softly. "Don't remember what they used recently, but...well." She says picking up a phone. "You trust Okoye...right?"

Black Panther has posed:
"With my life," he answers with clear conviction, and cocks his head curiously as she pulls out her phone. "More than anyone."

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
"She might have to do things in your stead for a while if you're the Panther for a long time." Jan says softly. "People know I'm the Wasp, so....yeah." She then starts to dial a number......

Black Panther has posed:
T'Challa sits back in his chair and sips his drink while he waits for Jan. He is a practiced diplomat so there is no hint of irritation about him when she does so without explanation.

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
Jan puts the phone to her ear and smiles to T'challa. "this shouldn't take too long." She says as the phone starts to ring...then...suddenly. "Hey Pepper. Yeah, Janet Van Dyne. Can you connect me with Tony, please?" She then rolls her eyes. "No, I don't care if Shell-head's in the lab or not. he'll want to hear about this."

Iron Man has posed:
Incidentally, Tony is in the Mansion lab. Pepper does connect her through to there. Which means she gets JARVIS next. "Good afternoon, Ms. Van Dyne. I have altered Mr. Stark to your call," the AI responds, polite as always. Tony and his wall of assistants and various filters is pretty normal.

Then there's some sound and a cheerful but distracted Tony, "In the middle of something, go ahead, though, Janet." Sounds like she has part of his attention. Again, pretty normal.

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
"Hey Tony. You're not going to believe this, but I'm actually sitting right next to someone who wants to assist the Avengers....if he possibly can." Jan then smiles to T'challa a bit. "I'm sure you've heard of the Black Panther, right?"

Iron Man has posed:
"My belief range has broadened /considerably/, there's angry space mold trying to eat some of my apparatus as we speak," Tony replies, tone amused. "It's failing." A pause, some noise. There's some noisy machines near him.

"Black Panther wants to contribute? Of course. We can use all hands on deck with this. Our alliance with the Justice League is stronger than ever. A great time for teamwork, saving the world. He won't feel like he's been picked last for kickball, though, will he? We've been a bit busy around here."

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
"I figured you'd want help. More than what I can give, but I'll do what I can if you need it. If you're in Stark Tower, or the Mansion, we can head there now to help. I'll just need to suit up, myself." She then shoots T'challa a look, as if to say 'suit up yourself'. "need anything, tony?"

Black Panther has posed:
T'Challa sets down his glass on the table. There is a ripple of black that spreads from the necklace he wears across his body and in a second he is the Black Panther.

Iron Man has posed:
"Oh, I'm great, I'm just doing some tests with a sample we picked up yesterday. Unless he has science teams that want to start some test suites on this array of samples, the best help right now is to keep the general population safe, and get rid of the monsters where they exist in the parks in the city," Tony explains.

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
"All right, Tony. We'll see what we can do. If he can help scientifically, I'll say something, but I'm sure he'll be able to keep the population safe. We'll see you at the mansion later." And Jan hangs up the phone. "All right, T'challa. If you have science teams, or a way to help tony analyze those things in the lab. Otherwise, it's keeping the population safe." She says getting up. "Shall we?"
