At the beheast of Andrea, Jean has agreed to meet with her friend Mason, she is waiting in her office at the appointed time. Dressed casually, rather than to impress, she is fully open to admitting Mason to the school, but she needs to see it is something he wants to begin with.

Jean doesn't make a comment over Mason's mom critiqueing Xavier's choice of Mansion decor, though she does find it a bit amusing. It's not fitting nor professional for her to even offer a response. Instead she just introduces herself, "my name is Jean Grey, I am the acting Headmistress of Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. Pleased to meet you, Andrea mentioned quite a bit about Mason...but I'd much rather hear Mason himself."
"Do come in," she encourages Mason and his mom, motioning at the seats infront of her desk, "any questions I can answer for you? More importantly, are you sure you truly wish to become a student when you have the world as your oyster in the music industry, Mason?"
