Meet Me in the Morning
Date of Scene: 01 July 2018
Location: Xavier's School
Synopsis: Erika wakes up to a confusing new world at Xavier's.
Cast of Characters: Elixir, Souvenir

Elixir has posed:
The Wellness Office is quiet at this hour. The nurses are just changing shifts. Updates are easier since they only have the one guest and she has been sleeping since Ms. Braddock worked with her during the night. The only sounds are a faint periodic beeping from the sensors monitoring Erika's vitals, the first few stirrings of students in the hall making their way to breakfast and Josh's rythmic breathing as he sleeps in a chair nearby Erika, still dressed in his blue jeans and hoodie from the night before.

Souvenir has posed:
Erika Kristasdottir is laying in bed awkwardly. Out like a light. At least, until some sort of thought or dream jolts her just the tiniest bit awake. She cracks her eyes open slightly and.. Wait, where am I?

She climbs out of bed tiredly, vaguely notices that she doesn't get brainasploded from touching the floor, and goes stumbling out in search of a bathroom, zombie-like. Braaains. She doesn't even notice that she isn't alone yet.

Elixir has posed:
The nurse comes over, a young woman in her 30's with light brown hair in pastel blue scrubs.

"Bathroom's over there, hon," she says, pointing Erika in the right direction with a kind smile. Once Erika is on her way, the nurse gently shakes Josh awake. "She's up," the nurse says and then goes back to her station to make some notes.

Josh stands up and stretches, feeling sore from sleeping in the chair and looking jet lagged.

Souvenir has posed:
Erika Kristasdottir toddles over to the bathroom tiredly. Locks herself in and deals with stuff briefly, then washes her face and rinses out her mouth and comes stumbling back out, still pretty confused. Where was it she was sleeping again? She furrows her brow a bit and goes wandering back towards where her stuff is, confused.

Elixir has posed:
Josh looks over as Erika comes shuffling back. He smiles warmly.

"Hey Erika... Don't know if you remember me, from last night, I'm Josh. How're you feeling?" he says. "You've been out like a light."

Souvenir has posed:
Erika Kristasdottir BLINKS wide eyes in surprise and freezes for a couple of seconds. She looks you over for head to toe and takes a moment to try to sort through the scrambled mess of her memories of the past twenty four hours.

"Uh. Maybe...?" She bites her lip, because she honestly had assumed that she dreamed that part. Well, it must have been the musician part that she was dreaming then. Why her subconscious would stick a pop star whose music she doesn't even like in her dream is a bit of a puzzle, but it's been a really weird day.

She offers a slow and hesitant, "Uh... Where am I?" and turns around looking at the place, bleary-eyed.

Elixir has posed:
"I came to your house last night with Andrea Jackson, to see how you were doing," he supplies. "We brought you here, to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. It's in Westchester. One of our teachers, Ms. Braddock, helped you get some sleep," he explains, a touch slowly, not wanting to overwhelm her. "You've been sleeping in our Wellness Centre; it's sort of our clinic. You hungry? I can make you something to eat," he offers.

Souvenir has posed:
Erika Kristasdottir ohs quietly and tries to absorb all of that. Okay. This is starting to make a little bit more sense. ".. Yeah, I should eat something." She rubs her face tiredly.

"There's nothing in my head now.." She yawns slowly. "It's nice. I think. I don't know yet."

Elixir has posed:
Josh jerks his head toward the Wellness Centre's kitchen and walks in that direction with Erika.

"Hey, I'm glad whatever Ms. Braddock did worked. Cause it looked like hell," he says. Once in the kitchen, he finds the fridge well stocked, like everything else in the mansion. He pulls out a carton of eggs, some milk and butter. "Scrambled eggs and toast okay? I'm not much of a cook, but I /can/ do that much" he says with a grin. He also pulls out a carton of orange juice and offers to pour her some before pouring some for himself. Then he gets to work on the eggs.

"So what was going on before? It looked like something happened to you every time you touched something."

Souvenir has posed:
Erika Kristasdottir nods, takes the juice as it appears in front of her, and gulps some down thirstily. She blinks and swallows. "Um. I don't know how to say it. When I would touch things, my brain would just.. Explode for a moment? And then the thing would just be THERE. In my head. But I don't know to do about that yet. I mean, the first thing thing was a combination lock, and I opened it. But I don't know how I did it."

Elixir has posed:
Josh nods as he washes his hands, then cracks eggs into a pan. "It's weird, eh? Being able to do something but not know /how/ you do it? I dunno about everyone else, but it's like that for me," he says. "Not the head 'splodey part, just how it happens without trying. I'm a healer," he explains.

"But good news? There's people who are really, really good with mutant powers and can like, teach you to control them. You know, so you can like, sleep?" he says with a smile.

Souvenir has posed:
Erika Kristasdottir ohs and droops a little. Not in disappointment, but in exhaustion. But she needs food just as much as she needed to run to the bathroom.

"I don't even know WHAT I do. So I don't know how to explain any of it. And it's gone now. I'm not sure what's going on yet. Maybe you need to ask them how to explain it?"

Elixir has posed:
"Hey, if anyone can explain it, it's Ms. Braddock," he assures Erika. "We'll make sure you get to talk with her soon. She's really cool," he says and plates up some eggs for Erika, as the toast pops. He sets out jam and peanut butter on the table for Erika. Then Josh hands her a plate and gets himself a plate. "At least you're safe now, and you can touch stuff. That's a start, right?" he says. "Seriously, we'll get you sorted out, for now just grab a bite and get some rest. You look wrecked," he says lightly.

Souvenir has posed:
Erika Kristasdottir nibbles at the egg politely, so not to be rude holycrapsohungry and now the eggs are gone. She stares at the plate a bit, chewing on a piece of toast.

She pauses a bit, then offers, "I FEEL wrecked." She frowns. "I was hoping you would know what she did."

Elixir has posed:
"There's more," Josh offers, and dishes her up some more if she wants it.

He shakes his head though. "No, I don't. I mean, I know she can like send messages to people's minds; she's a telepath. But I don't know anything about that stuff," he admits. "I haven't been here all that long. I haven't even been a mutant all that long. It kinda changes everything though, you know?"

Souvenir has posed:
Erika Kristasdottir nods and holds out her plate. "I don't even know what it tasted like, but it was the best thing ever. Oh. My. God. Thank you."

She rubs her eyes a little. "Okay. Nasty sounding stories by people around me now. Like, are the things people say true? Probably not because *I* wouldn't, right? You're not scary. Ugh. I don't know anything about any of this."

Elixir has posed:
Josh hands Erika her plate back, with more eggs and toast and sits back down.

He laughs at not being scary. "Glad I'm not scary," he says with a smile. "You know, this place has been one of the most chill I've ever been. I mean, my parents /hate/ mutants. My church hated mutants. I even did, I was scared of them. But here I am, and the weird thing is, they're just people, like anyone else. I mean, some look weird and some can like do crazy things, but they're just people. So I guess, don't believe everything you hear, just see for yourself, you know?"

Souvenir has posed:
Erika Kristasdottir nods a little. "Well, I don't know anyone. Didn't. Gleah." She takes some actual normal non-starved bites of egg that she actually has a chance to taste. "Wait wait. So Andrea Jackson was actually at my house? And like, my mom didn't freak out? I should make sure they're okay..." She frowns and looks herself over. No phone or anything.

Elixir has posed:
"Is your mom a fan? Cause she totally didn't freak out or anything; she was just really worried about you," Josh says. He pulls his cell phone out his pocket, unlocks it and slides it across the table to Erika. "I think she was willing to try just about anything, even handing her daughter over to a popstar."

He gets up and starts cleaning the dishes he used to make breakfast.

Souvenir has posed:
Erika Kristasdottir nods... "Yeah. I mean, she likes a bunch of music, lots of, you know. Happy bouncy stuff like Andrea Jackson and stuff. But she's a fan."

She puts the number in and dials. Waits. "Hi, mom?" She listens a little. "I'm okay, I just, they did something so I could sleep, and I'm still really tired, but I had to eat and stuff and I wanted to let you know I was okay.. I love you too. I.. I don't know anything yet, I'll tell you later, okay? I'll talk to you soon."

She hangs up and stares at the phone a bit. "Okay, so like, so torn up right now."

Elixir has posed:
Josh looks over and his expression softens. "Yeah. Give it time," he says and notes her empty plate. "You should probably get some more sleep. I'll get you hooked up in one of the visitor's rooms."

He goes over and talks to the nurse for a bit, who makes a call and then nods to him. Then he comes back with Erika's bag and blanket. "They're close," he says. "My room's in the visitor's wing, too, I'll show you where, so if you need anything you can just knock."

Josh waits for Erika before walking with her through the mansion's halls to her room, pointing out his room and where the Dining Hall is on the way. "It's super cool, they have everything," he says of the Dining Hall as they pass it.

"This one is yours," Josh says and pushes the door open. The room is beautifully appointed, like everything else in the mansion. It's like a small luxury hotel room. "Seriously, you need anything, you knock or use the phone in here and call. I'm two doors down on the left," he says and jerks his head in the direction of his room. "104."

Souvenir has posed:
Erika Kristasdottir ohs and nods, following along. holy heck this place is huge. She looks around the room a little bit. "Okay, so uh... Yeah okay. I'm going to close my eyes for awhile. Thank you so much..!"

Elixir has posed:
"Hey, no problem," Josh says, handing over Erika's blanket and bag. "Take it easy, okay?" With a final smile he turns and heads down the hall to his own room.
