Synopsis: Diana and Kal meet at the Themysciran Embassy and talk about the Asgardians.
Cast of Characters: Wonder Woman, Superman

Wonder Woman has posed:
It's a sunny Sunday evening in Manhattan. The Embassy has played host to an afternoon gathering that is breaking up now and the guests are mostly all gone at this point, with a few making their way either through the embassy towrd the front of it, or out the back court yard through a gate that leads out to another Manhattan street.

Diana Prince played hostess to the party/gathering, as she often did on Sundays. This particular event was for a little 12 year old girl's birthday party. She was a special girl who was fighting/struggling with a disease that was leaving her wheelchair bound, doctors were unsure of what else to do for the child and her prognosis was not great.

To help the young one have a happy day, Diana had scheduled her birthday party here at the Embassy and gave the girl the opportunity to be Wonder Woman for a day. Something she'd done many other times for children when she was able to. The little girl got to wear her own golden tiara shaped and styled like Diana's own, as well as a bunch of other great WW swag from Diana and the Embassy... To be given actual Amazon gifts, seemed to make a lot of kids happier.

As of right now? Diana is helping her staff clean up outside. She's wearing a blue and white dress, sleeveless for summer, her hair tied back into a ponytail. The back courtyard of the Embassy is well shaded by tree cover from old treets growing up out of the soft grass, but with the sun setting in the west, Manhattan was mostly shadey at the present.
"

Superman has posed:
There is a faint boom as Superman drops below the speed of sound at a safe height and then descends more slowly to land gently in the back courtyard. He stoops to gather up some discarded paper plates and plastic cups near him, and walks towards Diana.

"Ms. Prince," he says with a smile, and nods as well to the other present who stop what they are doing as he lands. "It looks like you had quite the party."

He drops the paper plates and plastic cups into a garbage bag, and moves to help stack chairs. "I hope I haven't dropped in at a bad time?"

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana's senses allowed her to pick up on the sound of Superman arriving, so she wasn't entirely surprised by it and in fact when he was in his final descent she was already turning to look over and up to him whilst he touches down onto the grass. He's greeted with an upturn to the corners of her red hued lips and when he instantly starts to help pick up she lets it slip into an expression of a grin.

"Well hello there." Diana says to Superman, walking with him toward the waste bin where she deposits some of her own haul. "It is good to see you are still with us." Diana says light-heartedly, her Greek accented English flavored with a little hint of humor there.

"I had started to worry, point of fact." She then adds whilst standing still and watching him sort some of the chairs out, simple white wooden chairs that fold up and can be stacked on a cart. She glances around then. "It was a very good party. Lots of children playing. You would have enjoyed it." She says then, letting her eyes return to him then.

Superman has posed:
"I probably would've," he agrees about the party. "Seeing the looks on their faces never gets old. I'm sorry I missed it, and other things," he looks a little pained. "And that I didn't call. I should've let you know what was going on," he admits.

Superman folds chairs near Diana, stacking them neatly on the cart. Then he stops and rests a hand on the table the chairs had been at. "I had to stay away," he says. "When the Asgardians came. They needed to make their own choices, without me. Anything I did, or didn't do, was going to send a message. It seemed like the right thing."

Wonder Woman has posed:
The few Embassy staff who are still out here are certainly eyeballing Superman closely, because, well... its Superman, but they're trying to keep working... though one of them is snapping a picture with their phone and is all smiles. Diana doesn't seem to notice or pay any heed to these antics though.

She stands there near to Superman and interlaces her fingers together in front of her waist while she nods softly once to Kal's words. "So you have heard about that then?" She replies to him. "I have... taken a more hands on approach, one might say." A light exhale then and she shakes her head. "I felt a great swell of sorrow for Thor's people when I heard about what had happned to their home. It felt... like my duty to try to help he and his find a place here on our world. And, sadly there is only a small number of them left... So it is not as though they would take up a great deal of space, really anywhere."

Superman has posed:
"I did hear, I even met an Asgardian yesterday. They're interesting people," he says and lets out a breath. "I'm glad you've been doing what you have, for them," he says quietly. "It's the right thing to do, I wish more had your courage" he asks.

He avoids embarassing the staffer by pretending he did not notice them, attentive to Diana. "How bad are things up there? I heard there were a lot of wounded, and supplies are low."

Wonder Woman has posed:
A little nod is shown to his words about the Asgard people and then she releases a heavy sigh and glances away toward the wrought iron fence that leads down a tunnel and out into the streets of Manhattan. "Thor is doing his best to play the part of strong leaderfigure... What with his father gone now as well." Her eyes drift back to Superman. "His people admire him as much as any could as well. All things considered? With him, their spirits seem high. As high as can be expected."

Diana lowers her pointed chin then just a little as she levels her geze toward Superman then. "You should speak to him." She says. "I think he might take a measure of great respect in what you have to say on... all of this." Diana is well aware of Superman's homeworld being lost to a great tragedy of its own. There's a kinship there, a sadness laced one... but a kinship all the same.

Superman has posed:
It is Kal who looks away this time, and his lips press into a thin line. "I will," he says finally. "If you think it will help, I will. I've never met him before, even with everything he's done. It's probably about time."

He looks back to Diana. "I just wish things had gone better for him. They were treated like.... space-borne border jumpers in half the media. Their story just did not get out, and the real questions weren't answered before it all happened at the UN," he says and folds his arms. "You and the Wakandan king did your best, but the way the story was spun..." he shakes his head. "It was an uphill battle."

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana moves then to grab some napkins before the wind carries them off a table and she walks them over their holder since they were on a stack of unused ones. She slides them back into the wooden holder and looks back over toward Kal. "He is a good man, a man who has a very great sense of humor and if you catch him in the right moments he can be a lot of fun to be around." She says on the subject of Thor. "I think you will enjoy his company." She shows a slight smile then and nods once more.

"King T'Challa was a welcome help through all of this. But sadly, what with the events of last fall still fresh in so many minds... People from 'other worlds' are not getting off to a great foot any longer, when arriving to Earth's orbit." Superman had long since proven himself as a worthy citizen to this world. "Thor and his people will have a chance to show their quality though and in time, people will praise thei presence here."

Superman has posed:
Kal smiles. "If he's half as interesting as the Asgardian who dropped in on me, I think I will," he says of Thor's company.

He considers Diana's word thoughtfully. "Maybe we can help them show their quality, and open some eyes. Maybe it's time for Thor to tell his story. Would he talk to Clark?" Kal asks and goes back to folding chairs. "I wish it was easy as... Fighting something off, but this is a different kind of problem. Clark's kind," he says and looks to Diana for her thoughts.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana is lifting a cup of ice tea up to her lips to sip from it as the question of Clark arises and she pauses to speak before drinking. "He would not." She responds then shows a quick smile. "But I... think he will if I suggest he do so and give Clark a vote of confidence in quality." She then sips the amber hued iced tea and shakes her head. "I shall let him know that Clark Kent wishes a personal interview and... that he should do it, that people enjoy what Clark writes and will listen to his words and summation of what he sees in the situation." The cup is set back down onto the table then.

"And you are quite right. Some problems are for Superman, some are for Clark Kent..." She glances around then, but most of her staff is out of normal human ranges for earshot. But, they were summarily vague anyway.

Superman has posed:
"Thank you," he says with a smile. "I really think it will help, for everyone."

He cocks his head slightly, hearing a distant sound. He smiles apologetically. "I need to go, but let's talk soon. With Asgardians and mushrooms to deal with. I get the feeling we'll be needed out there together soon."

"And I'll try to make the next party," he says, starting to drift upwards and away from her. Kal gives Diana a last smile, then turns and flies off and out of sight.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana will watch Superman rise up then and she'll return the soft smile. "I am here to help, whenever you seek it or need it. Go, and be safe!" She responds to him before offering him a slight wave of her hand as he leaves. She turns then to resume helping her staff clean up and prepare for the rest of the evening.
