Same Time as Last Week
Date of Scene: 03 July 2018
Location: Hellfire Club, New York City
Synopsis: Emma and Erik meet up for drinks and a chat. It's becoming a regular occurrence.
Cast of Characters: Emma Frost, Magneto

Emma Frost has posed:
It was becoming something of a habit, finding herself at the Hellfire Club nursing the better portion of a bottle of top shelf scotch on her own. However, after her last visit here, Emma Frost needed to put her life back into perspective and remem ber just who and what she was. And to return to living up to that last name of hers.

It had actually been longer than a week, but she'd left word for Erik that she might be found at the regular place, at the regular time, should he care. If he didn't, well, she still had that bottle of scotch and the ambiance of a place that while it may no longer love and adore her, where at least she could find herself amongst others of 'her kind'. And by her kind, she didn't mean mutants.

Magneto has posed:
The Hellfire Club, save for the Inner Circle, was mainly a club for the Earth's high elite. Presidents, politicians, heads of global conglomerates, even celebrity moguls may be invited. This was a place to flaunt your elite status over everyone else. A true fan of American Psycho would love the amount of hubris that would exist in the club itself.

For Magneto, he was not only the White King of the Hellfire Club, he was also a true King of Genosha. The Sovereign, adored by his people, and by other mutants that had agreed with him. Very few in attendance tonight would be able to out-title Erik himself.

"Emma Frost, my dear." He says, offering the lady a greeting handshake and customary air kisses.

Emma Frost has posed:
Not one to stand on ceremony when she's called the meeting, Emma is already well into her second measure of scotch when Erik joins her. Air kisses and handshake dealt with, she gestures to her table, giving him a serene, if cool smile. Her customary. Though many might see it more of a 'I know something you don't know/am better than you and we both know it' look.

Erik however, shouldn't have any issues with stacking his ego against hers, leaving only the cool and serene behind. And she, having nothing to prove to him, is content to relax - as much as Emma Frost ever relaxes.

"It feels like a forever ago, my dear Erik. I was pondering our last conversation and wondered if we might wish to pick up where that left off. At the very least, I've seen your grandson."

Magneto has posed:
Erik lifts the feshly delivered glass of way too expensive scotch before he delivers the nectar to his lips, enjoying the decadent liquor. "Seem a little like Pietro, does he?" He asks, smiling at the products of his progeny. "Very well, pick up where we left off."

Emma Frost has posed:
"Very," Emma answers succinctly. "And desperate for approval. Though you knew that, didn't you? The boy can be manipulated. The question is, what are we going to do with him?"

Emma still wasn't sure of Erik's plans. But she did know she had some of her own. And where the two met, she wasn't above making things happen. In fact it suited her to do so. Very much so.

Magneto has posed:
"Let him earn the approval. It hardly does him any good to have it thrust upon him. If they are to learn to lead, then have them lead! Xavier thinks that young ones need mollycoddling, none of them do." Erik lightly taps his fist to the table, before taking another sip off his dram. "Some of them need to know that it is perfectly alright to be who we are. Others, need to understand that peace will never exist if they just pray and hope it will happen. No, nothing comes to you on a silver platter in this life." A stance that Erik wholeheartedly believed, and he knew Emma had as well.

"I'm guessing Charles already has them grouped up in some kind of team, yes?"

Emma Frost has posed:
There's a soft bit of something of a laugh from Emma. "Oh, you might say that. Though I am reconsidering my part in the matter. For the moment, though, you'll be amused to know Charles and Jean have left their little gaggle of mutantkind's best and brightest in my ever loving care."

She doesn't expand upon that matter. Not yet. She wasn't yet sure just how many details she was willing to give Erik, or at what cost to the man.

Magneto has posed:
Erik gave a chuckle, certainly no who he had expected to be leading a team at Xavier's. "Well, you do have a way with them it seems. They should see what it really is like out there. I'm sure most of them do understand, but they should know what threats we all face every day. Trask, the Sentinels, Reavers, Friends of Humanity. They need to know that it's not a game out there. I would hope one of them rises to the occasion to bear that weight on their shoulders."

He admittedly didn't know Tommy well enough if he would be that kind of person, but one would certainly hope so.

Emma Frost has posed:
"One of them?" Emma delicately arches a brow at Magneto's words. "Well, their self-styled leader is a rather forceful whirlwind of a thing who is used to publicity and getting her own way. However, there is what is perceived, and what will be. I'm sure you're famliar with designs within designs."

She regards him calmly, and sips at her scotch.

"Tommy isn't your leader, Erik. He'll make a damned fine follower. He will go balls to the wall deep given the right incentive, but he won't be your leader. Use him for what he is."

Magneto has posed:
Erik brings up the glass again, inhaling the delicate fumes. "Yes, yes. I had figured as much." He says, taking in another sip.

When he places back the glass, Magneto raises his brow. "So, you have your own plan there? Splendid." He says, grinning a bit. "Sounds like the leader-would-be is burdened with a deplorable excess of personality."

Emma Frost has posed:
Again that soft titter of laughter from Emma that sounds both bored and amused at the same time. "Oh, you think she's my choice?"

There's a smile from Emma. "Yes, I know. I just gave you that one for free. You're a smart man, Erik. You'd have figured that out soon enough. However, as matters stand I prefer to divert attention from what's really going on. I thought you'd appreciate that."

Magneto has posed:
"Knowing you? Absolutely not." Erik retorts, with a smile. "So, playing coy again? Whatever is the fun there?" He says, though brushes it off quite easily. "So, you mentioned you may not be their advisor? What happened?"

Emma Frost has posed:
"It isn't certain yet. Just a thought I was playing with. Don't trouble yourself over matters. As it happens I've found myself perhaps a little too maudlin of late." She smiles. "There's a reason I asked to meet with you. You remind me of how things used to be. I was need of that focus."

"But enough about me. What of you since we last talked?" Notably, she doesn't answer him about being coy..

Magneto has posed:
"I'm having to find a way to drive out the remaining flatscans from Genosha without resorting to...things that would make me look like Pol Pot." He admits, resting a palm to his forehead. "And I've heard rumblings if someone looking into suppression collars." He says, balling up a fist.

Emma Frost has posed:
That piques Emma's interest. "Oh? I haven't heard such rumblings."

Though to be perfectly fair, she hadn't put her ear to the ground listening in some time either. Not that the affairs of Genosha were her concerns.

"You do insist upon calling them that, don't you? I never truly understood it, Erik. I understand they're lacking in so many ways, but they are part of us as well."
