On the path of the Foot
Date of Scene: 03 July 2018
Location: Gotham Museum
Synopsis: Batman follows some clues from the botched Museum job, and gets some ideas on who might be responsible.
Cast of Characters: Shredder, Batman

Shredder has posed:
The Gotham Museum was hit a few weeks ago during an attempted heist. Babs foiled the plot, and the police managed to capture two suspects, who later disappeared mysteriously from custody. Their target? An ancient scroll from Japan. It's a rarity to be certain. No second attempt has been made, but the exhibit is leaving soon. Naturally security is on a higher level of alert, making a direct attempt more challenging. The two who were caught were both Japanese. The third... who knows? But they had some distinct knowledge of the layout, the kind that you need more than blueprints to get.

Batman has posed:
He moves as a dark shadow across the night sky, blending in perfectly. He does not believe the raid was a coincidence and so now perches like a human gargoyle atop the building, waiting, watching for some sign. He also looks at the areas they would have examined the building from; searching for lingering remnants.

Shredder has posed:
A skylight was used in their exit, and while there is little left to distinctly show how they left, the logistics would suggest that it was some form of grappling device. The third, however, didn't leave through the same means. The third went out an alley exit, presumably pursued by Batgirl. It doesn't look like it should have been a good place to escape from one of the Bat family.

Batman has posed:
He switches to several different vision modes in his eye pieces but looks closer in magnficiation. He tries to trace the logical angle of the grappling device...hoping they staked the place out for a while.

Shredder has posed:
The grappling marks on the base of the skylight make it appear that it was directly below that the hook was used, indicating that they may have had some advanced tools akin to the Bat's own grappling hooks. The procedures used were quite professional, and had Barbara not planted her own cameras, they certainly would have evaded detection until the next morning. It was the tip from Babs that actually caused the two to be caught even after the tip. Without her info they probably would have still escaped successfully, and with the goods in hand. Unfortunately for them, they had the item with them, so the scroll was returned when they were caught.
No record was found of either of them, One was eventually determined to be a American with no record after their escape, though it's uncertain, since there was little info on him to be certain if they had the person they believed they had. The other was suspected to be a Japanese National. Neither made a sound during their entire capture, taking full use of their Miranda rights.

Batman has posed:
Batman grunts. Well equipped. But there are only so many that can make tools this well. Still, it gives him some leads unless they manufacture them from scratch. Most don't. He leaps from area to area trying to follow up but then taps into the Bat computer. What is the link here?" He looks to see if any might have left traces of DNA. That can be more telling than cloth.

Shredder has posed:
Up on the rooftop, there seems to be a clean sweep. A blood drop belonging to someone who was an AC repair guy, probably from a minor cut he took on the job. A hair that doesn't match anyone in the database, but no skin samples. Up here, it seems that they left pretty clean. They weren't able to make the jump to a nearby building from this distance. However, while little is found in DNA, another thing is found. Its a jamming device, not much bigger than a man's thumb. It's been crushed to be indistinguishable, and clearly inoperable.

Batman has posed:
Batman grunts. "Too good for this kind of job." He takes the pieces to perform a material analysis later. Inoprable doesn't mean that a chemical analysis won't reveal details later. He slowly swings back to the museum and voices, "Batcomputer...run an analysis of FCC monitoring in this area at the following dates," he gives them, "look for anomolies." He then swings over to the museum itself. Call it a hunch.

Shredder has posed:
Something occurred the night of the heist. It was fairly broad scale as well. The alarms were tripped remotely by someone who hacked them. The signal that this device put out, however, seems to have flown under the radar, but it quite possibly was small enough that it wouldn't past 20 meters, either.

Batman has posed:
"Sophisticated at stealth, computers, and acrobatics. Might be the Hand or the League." He looks around for cameras that might have caught a few of their fighting moves. Even a small one would do.

Shredder has posed:
The night of the heist, there is not a single interior camera that caught very much. There was one camera that caught what was probably a slight disturbance in a shadow, but it is too indistinct to be certain. Not surprising that a security guard would miss it. A feedback loop was used on a few of the feeds, preventing the camera from recording what it ought. They were in and out without detection whatsoever...
Except one external camera. The alleyway behind the museum had an external camera which shows the third ninja in her shozoku exit the door, to run into Batgirl. There's no audio, but it looks like something was said by Batgirl at least. The response was flight, and they both disappear from the camera's range for several seconds before the ninja drops from what had to be a few stories. She lands the way a person should land if they want to weather such a fall. She collapses, sprawling ungracefully across the ground, before taking another flight toward the park. It looks like she didn't get off scot free either, but she never was turned into the police.

Batman has posed:
Batman examines the alley, curious. He also makes a mental note to examine the caligraphy of their fighting moves. The martial arts are not as mysterious to those who study them, and it can tell a lot about who someone works for. He glides into the alley, wings trailing out behind him as he lands with a furl and immediate collapse of his cape.

Shredder has posed:
The fighting moves in this case were a direct attempt at fleeing, the drop, upon examination, was likly from a third floor fire escape. Not a short drop. In the alley, though, there is one thing that might be of particular interest. A cut bola, one of batgirl's, has a scrap left along the building, and there is a trace of blood on it. It looks as if the ninja cut it to flee, and nicked herself in her haste. This ninja was likely much faster than average, which would be consistent with the Foot, though they have not been making plays in Gotham for some time. The Foot ninjas are notable for their ability to pursue and flee with great speed, and are difficult to escape and to tail for very long, making them a particularly elusive brand.

Batman has posed:
Batman nods, "The Foot." He has dealt with them and encountered some details from Elektra. Now he suspects he has one of their officers. DNA. He carefully collects the sample and secures it in his utility belt. The dust from the jammer and the DNA are going to be sutdied in the batcave. Still...they are after something and if it is the Foot it is likely an artifact of sacred significance or arcane power. Might require a specialist.
