Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Phoenix, Elixir

Phoenix has posed:
Jean Grey has finally managed to clear some time of her busy schedule to get a chance to meet with Josh in private, she is waiting by the painting of the angel descending from the heavens to save the wounded. A rather telling choice perhaps. She's dressed in a green dress, quite casual in style, approachable looking.

Elixir has posed:
Josh makes his way back to the Wellness Centre at a quick pace, coming in from the lake. He's dressed in camo shorts, a yellow t-shirt and flip flops. He waves to Julie the nurse on the way in.

"Hey Ms. Grey," he says.

Phoenix has posed:
"Josh, we didn't get to speak since you've joined..." Jean makes note of the obvious, "how are you holding up? Managed to come to terms with yourself yet...?" She asks, her eyes fleetingly look at Josh, before shifting to focus entirely on the angel in the painting.

Elixir has posed:
"That's a big question," he replies, stuffing his hands in his pockets. "I mean, in the last few weeks I've saved Andrea, healed myself from almost dying twice, healed bullet wounds, gone out with the X-Men, been attacked by cyborgs, started helping out here, and gone for breakfast with Bruce Wayne," he says in one breath. He inhales and then smiles lopsidedly. "But I feel more alive than I ever have."

Phoenix has posed:
"We only deal in big questions at Xavier's, how else do we evolve and better ourselves?" Jean poses, still not removing her eyes from the painting. "I would say that is positive...where would you place yourself, if you imagined yourself one of the depictions in that painting?" She asks Josh of the picture of the angel descending on the wounded.

Elixir has posed:
Josh considers the painting for a moment.

"I can't answer that without sounding like, really arrogant. I'm no angel. But I know what I'm here for," he says. "I'm here to help. Much as I can... More than I can living like one of the high school kids," he adds.

Phoenix has posed:
"Low self esteem...?" Jean seems more to muse than suggest an observation, "is that the only possibility you see? The angel?" She presses on, perhaps having had a point in mind. "I'm told you were found amongst the Friends of Humanity when you were brought here. Fighting on their behalf, until you've found yourself their target. A most inopportune twist of fate..."

Elixir has posed:
Josh sighs.

"Yeah," he says. "No excuses there. Finding out I was a mutant and meeting a few has been... eye-opening."

He eyes the painting again. "Turning gold was just like, downright ironic. Karma, maybe."

Phoenix has posed:
"There are many ways to consider it...are you then the man who wounded those need saving by the angel?" Jean tries to help Josh along in her little exercise, perhaps seeking to make a point thereby.

Elixir has posed:
He is quiet for a while.

"I guess I used to be," he admits and shifts on his feet. "Like I said, no excuses. It's not exactly something I've forgotten."

Phoenix has posed:
"You are mistaken...why did I choose to speak to you before this very painting?" Jean prods Josh to not take the explanation she suggested, "I felt your conflict before we even met. There is something you need to come to terms with." She gestures once more at the painting, "see anything else that better fits?"

Elixir has posed:
Josh exhales, feeling frustrated and lost. "Not really. That's who I want to be," he says and points to the angel. "I can't erase the fact I was helping bigots, and just, going with it because that's what my parents thought and what my church thought and I never even questioned it. And ever since that day at the coffee shop I've been getting my ass handed to me, but I keep getting up and trying to do something right for once," he says, exasperated. "It's like being one of those guys," he points at the wounded. "Losing everything, and then coming back, and then getting wrecked all over again."

Phoenix has posed:
With Josh having said that, Jean finally turns to lay her green eyes on his person, a warm smile on her lips, "precisely. I choose it because the painting is you. The men who went to war, seeking to injure others, wounded when confronted by truth. There are no winners in war. And then, eventually, healed by the angelic touch of divine intervention...much as personified by what you've become." Jean lets that hang for a moment, before concluding, "I would advise meditation on this cycle, you are all and one, the aggressor, the wounded, and the healer. Accept that, and you will have the strength to grow stronger every day. Welcome to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, I'm glad to have you with us," apparently that was all the assessment that Jean needed of Josh, asking no other questions, as she turns to leave the room.
