The Bared Teeth
Date of Scene: 07 July 2018
Location: Xavier's School - Main Foyer
Synopsis: Mason rushes Andrea to Xavier's after putting a rock through her head. Josh is able to heal the physical damage, but she's not quite there anymore when she wakes back up.
Cast of Characters: Mason Steele, Rage, Elixir, Hellion, Storm

Mason Steele has posed:
Mason's Ferrari squeals around the corner as he makes the turn down Graymalkin Drive. "Just hang on, we're almost there," he says, the purr of the engine rumbling down the road. He doesn't make the corner perfectly as he turns into the drive, scraping the side of the car on the brickwork. No time to worry about that now.
The car moves around the fountain, and slides to the stop on the pavement, letting out a short squeak of rubber.
"We just gotta find Josh, and everything is gonna be okay, all right?" he tells her. He pulls his phone out...and realizes that he doesn't have Josh's number. He throws the phone, and starts searching for Andrea's.

Rage has posed:
The phone would have been in Andrea's backpack. Did Mason pick it up?

Rage has posed:
The body of Andrea is slumped to the side, blood pouring out of a nasty wound along the right side of her forehead to the back of her skull where the rock bullet tore through her. Her eyes are closed and her new clothes stained.

Elixir has posed:
Josh is sitting in the Wellness Centre on a chair he pulled up to the side of the nurses' desk. He looks haggard, idly flipping through pages of a biology textbook without reading them, his eyes far away. Sam had long since come to check on Josh and gone, leaving him to his thoughts.

Julie, the night shift nurse, glances at Josh, looking concerned. But she stays quiet and keeps working on her chart reviews.

Hellion has posed:
Julian had been out for a flight. The days may be hot but the nights are cooler, plus the cover of night makes it easy to keep hidden in the sky.

The Ferrari squealing into the front was concerning enough to warrant further investigation. He lowers himself to get close, and sees Mason. "Hey Ma-what the hell?!" He's seen bullet wounds before, seen that level of grizzliness. "Keep it together." He means both Mason's psyche and Andrea's physical form.

Mason Steele has posed:
Mason frantically searches Andrea's pockets while applying pressure with his shirt against Andrea's head. "Dammit, the backpack." He lets out a cry. "Help!" he roars, undoing the seatbelt and opening the door, it's only then that he sees Julian. He picks Andrea up in his arms, her head on his shoulder as he start to run up the steps.
"Do you know where Josh is?" he asks. "She's bleeding out fast."

Hellion has posed:
The young mutant runs in, sneakers squealing on the polished wood floors. He swings open the door swiftly. "Help, Andrea...was shot, I think, they're up front!" He calls out, seeing Josh and Julie, only to run back out towards the car.

Elixir has posed:
Josh and Julie look up from the desk at Julian, then look at each other.

They both jump up from the desk and run across the Wellness Centre and into the foyer as Mason comes in carrying Andrea. Julie reaches back and catches the door to the Wellness Centre.

"In here!" she barks at Mason.

Josh's eyes go wide at the sight of Mason carrying Andrea, covered in her blood. "What the hell happened?!"

Mason Steele has posed:
"It was an accident!" Mason declares as Josh comes out to the hallway. He istrying to hold himself together as Julian cautioned, but is only being mildly successful.
"I didn't know, Josh," he says, "I didn't know. Please, please can you help her?" What he didn't know, and what exactly happened are still a bit undefined, but the hole in her head says that she is in an incrediblly critical situation. He drops to his knees in front of Josh, looking up helplessly, tears in his eyes.

Hellion has posed:
Once Andrea is handed off to Josh and Julie, Hellion holds Mason by the shoulder gently.

"Come on, let them work." He says, looking at Mason and only Mason, trying to distract him. "What happened?" He asks, keeping his eyes on Mason's.

Rage has posed:
The ragdoll that is Andrea is slumping in Mason's arms. The bloody gash on her head is a nasty sight. Her hair is sticky with blood, and her clothing is soaked. Her body looks a bit more pale, but she is breathing, barely.

Storm has posed:
Despite the mansion being as expansive as it was, news of a student bleeding out and being carried to the inside travels fast. Ororo Munroe wastes no time at all, following the behind the student, her voice high and full of concern, "Hey- HEY! What is going on, child? What happened?"

"I- it's Andrea!" the student says, her voice shaking. "She's been shot!"

Blue eyes widening, Ororo turns from the student and starts for the nearest hidden panel she could find. Activating the elevator, Ororo steps inside and heads to the first level. Impatient, Ororo keeps pressing the button as if it would make the elevator go faster, and when the door finally opens, not even halfway, she squeezes through and is in the main hallway.

A group is seen in the distance and Ororo starts running. A trail of blood is seen on the wooden floor, causing Ororo's heart to race faster and faster. Entering the scene in a rush, her eyes dart to everyone: Julie, Julian, Josh, Mason, Andrea... Ororo assesses and finds the best tactic, maneuvering to the fallen Mason, arriving just as Julian asks a question.

"Move him back, Julian," Ororo says firmly, "On the other side of the room."

The instructor trusts the telekinetic enough to get all the necessary information. Ororo's focus is on the injured student. "Julie, what do you need?" she asks, standing at a close enough distance to allow the professional to do her job. Her eyes fall on the wound in Andrea's head.

Elixir has posed:
Julie comes running over, seeing Mason is not going to make it to the Wellness Centre. She crouches down and puts her cheek above Andrea's mouth and one hand on Andrea's chest.

Then she scoops Andrea out of Mason's arms and lays her flat on the foyer floor.

"She's breathing," she says and looks at Josh. "Can you do it?" she asks, echoing Mason's plea. "She won't make it to hospital."

"I... I got it," Josh says with a wide eyed look, then kneels down beside Andrea. "Jesus, I can see her /brains/."

He reaches down and holds Andrea's face in his hands. Immediately there is a bright golden glow. There is a slurping, suctioning sound. First the blood stops flowing, then brain matter begins growing back together. Pooled blood and fluid is pushed out of the wound and dribbles across Andrea's face. Josh wobbles and the glow dims and the brightens again. Membrane grows back over the brain, bone grows over membrane and finally skin over that.

The glow fades and Josh wobbles again, then slumps to the side, and topples over to the floor, unconscious.

Mason Steele has posed:
It's clear that Mason has little interest in heeding anyone else in the room aside from Josh or Andrea. He lets Josh take Andrea, but he holds her hand in his blood covered mitt, dropping his red-soaked shirt to the ground that he was using to protect. He's coated in her bright red blood, it's on his arms, his chest, his back, his shorts. He is completely unconcerned with any of it at the moment.

Hellion has posed:
Julian tried to distract Mason still. "Hey dude, let them do their thing. She will be okay. We need to know what happened, accident or not." He says, willing to push Mason back if it becomes necessary.

Rage has posed:
As the surge of healing power rolls through Andrea, she jolts upwards with a deep breath of air as her eyes bug out. It takes a few moments of staring into space before she looks down at herself, then at the other faces of those around her. The golden skinned man who blacks out causes her to shriek as she pushes herself away, then looks at all the blood. She starts to scream, panic in her voice. "Where am I!? Wh.. who are you people?" She starts to try and scramble to her feet, slipping along the blood upon the floor.

Storm has posed:
Ororo is there to catch Josh right before his head hits the floor, letting him down gently. See, she saves lives too! "What a treasure, you are," Ororo says, checking for the student's heart rate just in case. Unconsciousness.

Attention shifts to the newly healed Andrea, hearing the panic in her tone of voice. At the slip, Ororo raises her hands just in case she has to catch her because of her own blood.

"Andrea, you are in the mansion," Ororo begins cautiously. Wait, did she ask who we were? "How are you feeling? Are you in any pain?"

Mason Steele has posed:
Mason looks back to the Julian as she is healed, his face wet with tears, still sitting on his knees and holding Andrea's hand. "It was an accident," he pleads. "We were at the lake, she came to talk to me," he starts, only to be cut off by Andrea's voice.
Mason stops his recount, and spins back to squeeze Andrea's hand. "Andy, it's me, it's Mason, I'm here!" He reaches out to hold on to her to keep her from getting to her feet. "Don't stand, you were hurt, breathe, breathe, it's okay, you're gonna be okay."

Rage has posed:
Yanking her hand out of Mason's, Andrea stumbles back a few more paces and hits the wall with her shoulder. She stares down at her hands, wiggling her fingers for a moment as if it's the first time she's ever seen them. She takes in every face that stares back at her, then gives a feral shake of her head. "Who... I ..."

Storm has posed:
Ororo does not get the answers that she is looking for to ensure Andrea is okay. Instead, there is confusion placid against the student's face, and emotions spiraling out of control, not making for a good situation.

The Kenyan descendent rises to her full height, watching Andrea carefully, and then looks to Mason. "Enough," Ororo says with a stern tone to him. "I need you to move back now, or so help me, /I/ will move you myself."

"Andrea," Ororo says more calmly, "You are in the mansion. You had an accident. MY name is Ororo Munroe, and I am one of your instructors here. This is the school you attend." She pauses, not bothering to move towards the scared young woman. "Are you having trouble remembering what happened, child?"

Mason Steele has posed:
"Andrea," Mason says, holding his hands out in a non-threatening gesture. "You need to sit down, you were hurt," he tells her. Of course, given his own current appearance. "Let us get you some water, okay?" He glances sideways at Josh. "Is she gonna be okay?" he asks, only then realizing that he is unconscious. He moves back, still facing Andrea.
"Hey, Josh, you okay?" he asks, shaking his shoulder. "Wake up bruh," he glances down at him, then back to Andrea, then back to Josh. "You okay?"

Elixir has posed:
Josh stirs when Mason shakes him and pushes up from the floor. "Geez, what, I'm up, I'm.... Oh," he says. When he looks up it all comes back.

"She's awake?" he asks Mason and finally notices how much blood he is covered in. "Are /you/ okay? You look like... bad. What happened?"

Rage has posed:
"I don't know you. I don't know any of you ... why are you calling me Andrea?" The voice of the popstar is strained, gravely as if the words that come out of her mouth is foreign. She keeps staring at her hands as she backs herself away. She looks around quickly, as if trying to find an open door, an exit, an escape. When the golden skinned guy wakes up, she stares at him openly, before swiveling her gaze back to Mason. Her eyes start to refocus, and a growl erupts from her throat. "YOU." She slams a hand against her head a few times, as if trying to jog something free. "You did this to her! When all she did was love you! You insolent whelp of a pup! I should tear your throat out with my teeth." She says, baring them at him.

Storm has posed:
What the eff...

Ororo is more confused now, more than ever. However, one thing is certain in the way Andrea is looking at Mason, she is not pleased. Holding her hands up, Ororo can sense the feral side of Andrea awakening. They are small insights, but ones that a mutant instructor for the last seven years can notice.

"YOU are Andrea," Ororo says, thinking of a possibility, "Or, are you someone else?" The wolf, perhaps? "Tell me, child, what do you remember?"

Ororo attempts to take the attention away from Mason, manuevering in front of the boy so she is in direct sight of... Andrea. Her hands are still up showing that she is not here to harm anyone, especially not her -- or the wolf.

"I want to help you to get better," Ororo begins, "I just need to know what happened."

Mason Steele has posed:
"No, I'm fine," he says, "I-"
Mason jumps at Andrea's sudden aggression, slipping in the wet blood. He falls backward, scrambling back on his hands and feet. He slips int he . "Andrea, no, it was an accident," he says. "I didn't know, it was just a little pebble. I couldn't know..." the boy shakes his head. "Andrea, I'm sorry!" He is happy to let the teacher take the place between him and her, and he glances to Josh. "I thought you could heal her, what happened? Why doesn't she remember?" he asks.

Elixir has posed:
"Oh shit, the wolf," he says, scrambling to his feet.

Josh looks alarmed and spreads his hands, moving to stand to Storm's left, cutting off more of the path directly to Mason.

"I don't /know/ man," he says to Mason without looking away from Andrea, "There was a /hole/ in her brain, okay? I fixed it but like... I don't know," he says. "Fuck, I'm just glad she's walking and remembers anything."

Mason Steele has posed:
Mason shakes his head. "This is crazy, I can't..." he looks pitifully in Josh's direction, then in Andrea's. "Andrea, it's me, just calm down..." He starts to move forward, and Julie the nurse catches him, giving him a sedative. Perhaps not the most kosher natural remedy to get him out of the way, but as he spins to look at the nurse, he collapses, and she catches him. Now the others will have to deal with her for the moment.
