Cast of Characters: Lucky Day, Katherine

Lucky Day has posed:
Tom is walking along the street, minding his business. Last night was very emberrasing for him and the magic made him do...he is blushing and averting his gaze from most passers by. As he walks and is distracted he has his luck begin to sneak up on him. All at once he is about to walk into traffic, get hit by a fruit cart that is streaming down the hill AND step into a large mound of fire ants all at the same time. A highly perceptive person would notice some or all of this but most people barely notice.

Katherine has posed:
Everyone is noticed, constantly. Katherine is running a processor that merges super science technologies, mixed with a connection to every single device that is nearby. From every possible angle Katherine notices danger. There's little time though to save Tom from everything, but the most pressing things first. First, lights change sooner than they normally would and the cars start to come to a halt suddenly right in front of where Tom's about to walk. The fruit cart gets waved down by a kid that Katherine gave some money to, and she's there, almost a moment too late. Smiling, she reaches out to handshake with Tom, turning his trajectory a bit shallowly, "Oh, hello. I know you, maybe not, sorry. You look like someone I know, from a minute ago, when I saw you, across the street." She rambles and avoids letting the ants die, but also Tom from stepping into them. It's all solved, more or less, and Katherine verbally goes, "Whew." To what, is anyone's guess.

Lucky Day has posed:
Tom blinks and looks up. He is a bit surprised anyone notices him when wearing his weird black top hat, curly villain wax (obviously fake) mustache and black montebank cape. "I...." he puts his hand on the back of his head and is furiously blushing. Having saved him from all three things, the magic is, to say the least, furious. A series of chaotic seemingly random events begin to happen all over the world that are not going to register on her thresholds yet but a vague sense of dread might alarm Katherine's subroutines.

Katherine has posed:
Calculations after calculations. There's a huge amount of churning of the silicon bits, as they say in the best AI sitcoms... which don't exist outside of Katherine's own writings she does as a hobby. "Yes, hello. And wow, I like your hat." She isn't wearing any shoes, and her outfit is fancy but, has a deep enough v-neck to be uncomfortable for most women to wear in public. She doesn't seem to mind, a big grin on her face as she continues to shake Tom's hand. "A very nice hat, it is a top hat, traditionally worn to improve the stature of men, and in common fashion today with regards to steampunk variations and often confused with a bowler. Though the rounded edges, versus straight, are a pretty... sharp distinction." There's a pause, and Katherine begins to laugh, almost chortling, it's bad it shakes her entire body for a long few moments before she sighs right into her normal smile again, no sign of the remaining laughter. "Katherine, by the way. Nice to meet you."

Lucky Day has posed:
Tom blinks, "Yes....yes it is." He cocks his head quite curious and wondering why she is liking him. This is not good but he frowns, "Your dress is inappropriate for public." He doesnt mind at all, but cant risk her. Little does he know what she has already wrought. Her voice recognition would tell he is lying but he is lying so well he conciously believes it. Fascinating. Meanwhile, a series of hackers seem to have detected trails of her activities that she would have thought routinely hidden...in five different locations at the same time....they all begin to search at once.

Katherine has posed:
There's a side glance, like Katherine is paying attention to something else before she looks back to Tom. She grins a bit momre, and keeps shaking his hand before finally letting it go. Looking down at herself, she looks back up, "Oh, I am terribly sorry. Shoes and me, hard to figure out. The rest of course is within the confines of the law, public code in New York for decency." And that probably is true, though still. And she tilts her head a little bit, before wondering, "Would you go on a date with me? Someplace to eat, perhaps a movie? No, 87 percent of movie and dinner dates do not become a second date. Perhaps..." She scans through various options online, "A nice sit down restaurant, where we can talk. Get to know one another? Be friends first. Then move on to future prospects." There she is still smiling, staring, and waiting.

Lucky Day has posed:
Tom blinks in total shock. Does he have to bring in the puppies and orphans to kick in front of her, "Um....what?" He is a bit non plussed, "Look, KAtherine, I am not someone you should hang around but if you want to date, sure. I'm bad news." The hackers are getting through at a rapid rate, finding her flags, and finding more flags beyond them. They are now at the fringe of her core presence online.

Katherine has posed:
How are they even getting that close? What is it they are trying to do? How did they even notice her?" Katherine has backups of backups of backups. She's a quantum AI after all, but this is still disturbing. If she were paying attention. Instead she's found herself rather distracted with this Tom fellow, interested, intrigued. Not entirely sure why, "Oh. Bad news? Like FlipBoard's algorithm bad? Or more like News at 8 bad?" Since she is no longer shaking Tom's hand, she pats down her top to make sure it's wrinkle free, and then she wonders, "Would you like to go now? Or are you not hungry? I can always eat. Not that I do, but I could. It takes me a while to process food, but generally at a rate more rapid than consumption of the food, especially if I am talking at the same time."

Lucky Day has posed:
Tom looks at her. "Um...we ...sure?" He is baffled by how pretty she is and how much she wants to spend time with him. Is she human? He is getting NO magical vibe off her. "Where?"

The hackers are tearing into her more sensitive systems and are even actually detecting her body now. It's IMPOSSIBLE for humans to be this good. They are finding some of her backups. Not all but if she were sensing them it would alarm her.

Katherine has posed:
In the grand scheme of things, no matter what happens, Katherine can't be fully hacked, but in this case there's some odd feedbacks and other subroutines that could definitely be compromised. Beyond that, there's her entire body that she values and is important to her, and it could be taken over, altered, worse, used to create feedback loops? Oh my! The quantum AI keeps her attention though on Tom, it seems many of her Quantum Forks are now out and about hunting down sightings of him, information they can gather, to feed back to this Katherine. Looking around, she checks out a few hundred yelp reviews in the span of a few seconds, and then points, "There is an italian restaurant over there. Fancy, nice, and delicious. Good value for the atmosphere, and quiet. Perfect for romance." Yep, that's the Yelp review she just read. Smiling at Tom she starts to walk in that direction, still shoeless.

Lucky Day has posed:
The hackers begin to learn more about her and begin to crack her firewalls. They are getting very good at it leaving all kinds of viruses that would and will trigger later a the worst possible times. The magic is incredulous that she hasnt freaked out now and is getting bored but the damage done now is considerable. One of the hackers is near her data stores to learn about the future she comes from. Tom is amazed she hasnt been hit by a truck by now but nods and is quite hungry, "Um....yes. Sure." Maybe she is immune to magic?

Katherine has posed:
The worst possible thing for Katherine is to be single focused, and for whatever reason she's enamored by this human. She isn't enamored by anyone, and it is rather interesting. So, she's walking along mostly oblivious to the viruses being implanted, and the hackers managing to get beyond the incredible software she has that is normally real time protection by another one of her forks. But that fork too is hunting down interesting tidbits about Tom. "Great! Just do not look down at my feet. Most restaurants do not let me in without shoes, but they usually do not look." There's a bit of a laugh that comes from her, and she keeps walking along, "What do you do Tom? Career wise? And hobby wise? Tell me, I want to know."

Lucky Day has posed:
Tom says, "Um, well," he is trying to figure out how to adapt to this situation and coming out at a total loss, "I spend most of my time either surviving since I am cursed, investigating my curse, saving people who have been messed up by my curse or ....maybe we can get you some shoes first? I could pick out a pair for you? I really wouldnt mind." He shrugs, "I also occasionally sell out my service as a bad luck charm to pay the bills. Retaining money is impossible for me to do. Are you immune to magic?" The hackers have bypassed some of the LMD protocols and change the color of her hair and eyes."

Katherine has posed:
As her LMD gets hacked a bit and something starts going a little haywire, Tom would notice... though Katherine can't quite see herself just yet, that her hair which was the perfect amount brunette with highlights in it starts to shift. Her eyes get to be a dark red color with golden electrical bolts that seem to, in real time but randomly, strike across her new colored eyes. There's nothing that can be considered natural about that. And that perfect hair? It starts to get a flourescent green tone to it where the highlights used to be, and the brunette portions turn raven black. Sure, it might look cool for a gothic punk rockstar, but Katherine is not that. "You would pick out shoes for me? I just do not know what would go with this outfit, it is difficult, fashion, to analyze."

Lucky Day has posed:
Tom is enjoying the idea of a date but NOW he defintitiely knows something is wrong and knew it was too good for the curse not to be manifesting itself. He stops by a shop window and points to her reflection, "Did....did you mean to do that?" He is looking at shoe shops of course but is not AT ALL sure what to make of Katherine. They begin to hack more random systems in Katherine doing even odder things to her.

Katherine has posed:
There's a pause, and Katherine looks at the reflection. Then she looks back to herself, and then back to the reflection. This is wrong. She can't access her previous image portfolio. The design she created, and slowly other things start to alter. Apparently these hackers light the gothic look, and her makeup starts going darker, around her lips and around her eyes. She is unable to sotp it, even as her clothing is going to be slower to change, but it too is controlled by her nanites, and everything starts to get altered toward a more clearly gothic chica look. And she is startled, "No, I ... did not... do this. I, cannot recalll, my last saved look for some reason, but this is wrong." She speaks while definitely confused.

Lucky Day has posed:
Tom looks worried. "Katherine, I'm BAD luck. Very bad luck. You should...get away from me. And also? You should dislike me as much as possible. It might help a bit. I can, of course, still do the date if you want, but its a terrible idea and you should...be safe."

Katherine has posed:
There's a look at the reflection still, as Katherine's more gothic appearance starts to take shape. She can't stop it or alter it, and for some reasons she cannot remember what she looked like before. Going from the bubbly business lady before to the dark make-upped, dark clothed, more outcasty look that is now forming. "I... I do still... want to go." Boots even start to form around her feet. It's not magic, it's science, and it's somewhat a slow process but the longer they stand there the more complete it becomes. Looking over at Tom she tilts her head a little, "Italian still?" She isn't smiling like she was, more broodish, black painted lips as she starts to walk off in the direction of the restaurant.
