Location: Unknown
Synopsis: Diana and Zatanna talk about recent events, as well as letting Zatanna stay in a room at the Embassy for a spell (pun intended).
Cast of Characters: Zatanna Zatara, Wonder Woman

Zatanna Zatara has posed:
Zatanna Zatara is a part-time member of the Justice League, as much as anyone can be a part-time member of the Justice League. She doesn't go out on as many missions as the other members, and doesn't spend as much time at the team's base as the other members. She gets away with having the least amount of monitor duty time out of anyone on the team. Nonetheless, a member of the Justice League is a member of the Justice League.

Right now, Zatanna isn't dressed like a Justice League member. Her outfit is like something a normie would wear: a black dress, black heels, a black hairband keeping her hair back, black sunglasses resting on her forehead. She's also wearing jewelry enchanted with magickal powers from a variety of different sources, from the symbol on a string around her neck to the charms on her wrists and ankles, even down to her earrings. She probably has even more magick in her purse. Right now, she's at the front desk of the Embassy.

"--no, I DON'T have my Justice League ID on me right now, as a matter of fact." Zatanna is currently growing very impatient with the desk clerk. "Just tell Diana that Zatanna is here! She knows who I am! I swear, I'm not a psycho or anything!"

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana is stepping out of the meeting hall within the embassy--which is just down the central hallway a few doorways down--and with her comes a man and a woman, both dressed like upscale business-types. Diana is wearing a sleeveless red dress that goes down just past her knees and a pair of simple black shoes on her feet, her hair is tied back into a braided ponytail and she's having a conversation with the pair as they walk down the hallway toward the lobby.

Halfway down the hall though, Diana's eyes are looking toward the voice she can hear quite easily (advanced hearing is nice like that) and she does indeed recognize the source of it... the great magician herself. A smile appears on Diana's lips.

She looks back to her guests as she brings them out to the foyer and walks past Zatanna, offering a wave to the woman in black before taking a moment to say goodbye to the two guests she was with. Once they're out the front doors and into the busy city of Manhattan, Diana turns to walk toward Zatanna, reaching a hand out toward her. "Hello there." She says to the part-time Leaguer. "It has been awhile." She says in her accented voice. "How are you doing?"

Zatanna Zatara has posed:
Zatanna is spared from the guilt that she would feel later if she had used magic to make the front desk dial Diana. She looks over at the entrance of the Amazon amabassador, and seems greatly relieved to see her. "Princess Diana," she breathes out, letting go of the frustration that had been building up within her.

Zatanna takes the hand, and leans forward to do bougie air-kisses to Diana's cheeks. "How am I doing?" she repeats, and then her shoulders sink. "Not bad! Not bad. Actually, no, I'm lying. Pretty bad right now. Look, can I ask you a... actually, can we talk for a second? I mean, maybe it doesn't have to be somewhere PRIVATE, but just less of a lobby."

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana returns the polite air-kisses gesture, as its a common thing and something she does all too often. Then she settles back and her fingers interlace together while she holds her hands just in front of her abdomen. She keeps her blue eyes locked on Zatanna while she listens to the woman's words unfold and change in context as she speaks more and more.

"Yes of course." Diana says in her thickly Greek accented English. "Come with me." And with that, Diana turns to her right and starts back down the hardwood floored hallway of the central corridor to the Embassy. She looks over to Zatanna as they walk.

"If you are in need of help, you know that I am here for you." She tells her associate and a woamn she considers to be a friend. As they reach a set of double doors, Diana leads her into her office. It has two large windows behind her desk and a separate sofa/chair set area for lounging and more casual conversations.

Zatanna Zatara has posed:
Zatanna's heels click on the wooden floors while she follows Diana. Her own blue eyes stray this way, and that way, taking in the artwork and decor of the embassy. "Thanks, Princess. It's REALLY appreciated."

When the two are in the office, Zatanna again lets out a sigh that makes her shoulders dip. "I feel like such a... tool, asking this." She looks away for a moment, and her fingers knead the strap on her purse, which is either leather or faux leather. "Okay, let me just throw it out there. I need a place to crash." Zatanna looks back at Diana, and meets the Amazon's eyes. Zatanna's expression is like a teenager explaining to Mom that she MIGHT have been smoking pot, a LITTLE, when she drove the family SUV off the road on a school night.

"Let me explain," Zatanna says, sounding a little defensive from the start. "I went out and did this little club tour, to try out new tricks, new stuff for my act in front of fresh audiences... and when I got back to Shadowcrest... I don't know how, but the seal on one of the Mirrors of Barnevaca had gotten smeared, just enough for some of the imps... it's a mirror that looks out into another dimension, it's a dimension with imps in it, I don't know if that MATTERS, but that's what it is. Anyway, the imps aren't very smart, but they know how to make messes, so the entire time I was on this tour, they were running around Shadowcrest, knocking things over, tampering with things, and it's a mess, it's so bad, and I had to invoke this... it's kind of like... magical fumugation, to clear it all up, to get rid of all the bad stuff. It's not DANGEROUS stuff, just BAD stuff, and I have to leave the place alone while the invocation plays out, and that's what's going on, and now I need somewhere to sleep."

Wonder Woman has posed:
While Zatanna is telling-all about this magical mishap in her personal manor, Diana is approaching the counter in her office that has a small fridge and drink glasses. She prepares them both a glass of ice tea and is walking back over then toward the sofa area to offer a glass toward Zatanna so that she could join her and find a place to sit so they could chat about this.

"My word." Diana says after hearing it all. "An imp invasion..." She tries not to releas a laugh, but its difficult, the smile is sadly (for her) visible. She shakes her head right to left then as she places her eyes back onto Zee's own. "I am sorry, it is no laughing matter. I just..." Diana tilts her head to the right then. "Why do you have such a mirror in your home if it is so easily 'smudged' and then an army of unruly imps are released upon you to cause so much havoc?" She has to ask it, because it is too curious not to!

Zatanna Zatara has posed:
Zatanna sits like she's carrying a hundred pound of bricks, and accepts the drink with a quiet thank-you. "I didn't think it was that easy to smudge! I don't know if the stuff the sigils were daubed on there in just degraded over time, or... but... better that someone like me is there to deal with it than if it was in the private art collection of some venture capitalist. If I hadn't been away the entire two weeks..." Zatanna sighs, and drinks.

"I'm not mad at you for laughing, either," the magician says while looking over. "It's pretty funny, I guess. I think I'm just too raw about it right now. Especially when I was so looking forward to my own bed again..."

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana sits then after Zatanna does, keeping her posture straight and proper as one would likely expect her to do. "It... is not funny if you are sustaining serious property damage, and potential harm. Especially if the imps were to escape and due harm onto others." She clears her throat softly. "Let me help you, if I can. I know a... Doctor Strange, he can likely assist you as he goes by the title of Sorcerer Supreme, and well... lets just say I have been to his home and I have witnessed similar odd 'outbreaks' of magical hijinx."

A faint grin is shown then to Zatanna and then Diana again shakes her head right to left once. "You are more than welcome here, to stay in a room we have up stairs. We have many guest rooms. I shall have one made up for you and you can bring whatever you need here to keep safe." A short pause then before a sip from her tea. "Assuming it will not break out of its container and turn this Embassy into a monster mess all its own." And she shows a sweeping grin to Zatanna then.

Zatanna Zatara has posed:
Zatanna turns her lips inward and sucks on the inside of her mouth for a second. "No, I know all about the Sorcerer Supreme. I can... Maybe I'll talk to him about it. I've got it all handled, though, I think. All the hijinx. It just needs time to settle in."

Zatanna has a sad smile when Diana offers her a room. She's probably feeling pretty dumb about having to ask. "You're sure it's not an imposition? I can go see if Batman will let me hang from one of the stalactites in the cave..."

Wonder Woman has posed:
The first part gets a pair of nods from Diana. "I had a feeling you may have known who he was." She quietly comments with the hints of a grin that fades away pretty quickly when Zatanna continues onward to reference Batman. THIS gets a outright laugh, even if it is a quick and short one, from the Princess who rarely ever expresses herself with a open laugh. "Oh no." She says. "Do not do that... Do not do that at all..." She grins a little toward the other. "It is no imposition what so ever. I have this whole big place, and it needs people in it in order for me not to feel guilty about having this much space. _I_ certainly do not need all of it myself." She motions out to the doorways. "I have three sisters from Themyscira here with me now, though they spend most of their time at the Arts Center next door, or at the Hall in Metropolis helping League members with their combative prowess... But beyond that it leaves an awful lot of wasted space in this wonderful old Manhattan home. So I insist! If you are in need, then look no further." And she smiles big, and warmly then.

Zatanna Zatara has posed:
Zatanna breathes out in a long, quiet sigh. She does in fact look relieved that Diana has no hesitation about inviting her in. "Thanks. It won't be long, I promise. The Invocation of Mithrielye, Lady of Order is a pretty simple in-and-out thing, and Shadowcrest is such a conduit for stuff like that, it should really only take..." Zatanna looks down, at her drink. "...a month..."

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana nods her head to the other's words and she levels her gaze, leaning forwad and making eye contact with the great magician. "It is fine. I assure you. It will be fun to have a new fresh face around here. I am sure it will make the dinner conversation that much more enjoyable... If you do not mind my Sisters asking you questions. They find Sorcerer's to be fascinating... Well at least Adrastea does. She talks Stephen Strange's ears off when he is here."

Diana shows a faint grin then and she raises up from her chair and starts to walk toward her desk. "I will email my staff and let them know that a room will be prepared. I believe the room next to Cassie's is available since last month when she had an out of town friend stay with us for a week."

Zatanna Zatara has posed:
"Oh, I don't mind at all," Zatanna says, regarding the other Amazons. "I'm no Sorcerer Supreme, though. I think my rank on the Path, last time I checked was... um... three hundred something? You can't ask about that thing too often. It's like checking your credit rating. People will think you're up to stuff. I mean, it's the Path, it's a whole thing. Don't worry about it."

When Diana gets up, Zatanna has a sip of her drink and then looks over. She's such an outward, showy person, the definition of an extrovert, and yet she seems like she feels like a gawky teenager next to the actual, real Wonder Woman. "Princess? Thanks. Really. It means a lot, so I just... look. If there's anything I can do to repay you, anything at all, just ask. Doesn't have to be right now, but whatever you want, if I can do it, it's done."

Wonder Woman has posed:
Once at her desk, Diana has her laptop up and she's prepping the email to be sent to her staff out in the lobby who are always quick to get on whatever assignment and tasks she has for them. The talk of the Path is intriguing to her though and after the email is sent, Diana looks up and over to where Zatanna is. "You know, I met another man who calls himself a Wizard fairly recently. Its been a year now, but he... is from Gotham. A man by the name of Dresden."

Diana returns to where Zatanna is and sits across from her again. "He seemed to be a very nice man, but much more down on his luck than you or Strange." She's of course thinking of Harry's ragged clothing and his rather beatup volks wagon beetle vehicle. "Handsome though. And very kind hearted. You could see it in the eyes..." Though he didn't like to make eye contact for long, but Diana wrote that off as intimidation, which she gets a lot from people.

"And it is no hassle to have you here, I assure you. And should anything come up that I feel you can help me with? You will be the first to know." She smiles warmly then to Zee. "Hopefully no Imps though."

Zatanna Zatara has posed:
Zatanna stops and thinks for a moment. "Dresden. The name's familiar. It feels like it's on the tip of my tongue... I don't know. I'll probably remember it right as I'm about to fall asleep, or something like that." She does look up and smile. "No imps. Promise."

Wonder Woman has posed:
"Wonderful." Diana responds to the part about a noticeable absence of imps. "So...?" She asks then. "How did the shows go in front of the, difference audiences? I very much want to see you perform again sometime soon. I just have to find the time where I am able to do so. You know I am quite the fan of magic myself and have been since I was a little one, scampering around, pretending she was capable of casting spells herself... I may be able to do a lot, but throw fireballs or open gateways to other worlds, is sadly not within my abilities. As much as tiny-me wishes it had been." The princess is showing a playful grin at her own words.

Zatanna Zatara has posed:
"The shows? Oh, they were fine. I was just talking to someone about it yesterday... it's a weird thing, when you can turn the stage into rose quartz and back with just a couple words, but you have to make the audience think that it's a TRICK somehow, that they're not seeing REAL sorcery, because otherwise it'd open me up for so much liability and so many headaches..." Zatanna finishes her iced tea and holds onto the empty cup with both hands.

"So it takes time to figure out a new act. They want a new streaming special for next year, so that means, like... probably an hour, an hour and a half of all new stuff, new jokes..." Zatanna laughs to herself. "I shouldn't complain about how hard I have it next to an actual Amazon warrior, huh? But, hey, if I can make a fan out of someone who's probably on a first-name basis with the Nemean Lion, then I must be doing SOMETHING right..."

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana seems entertained by these words from her friend and nods softly to them here and there, then grins at the Amazon bit. "Oh yes... we have it very hard, sharing a name with a world wide shipping company that delivers internet ordered producdts to your doorstep within two to three business days." Even the great Amazon Princess can take jabs at herself and the name her people now share with not just a region in South America, but also... something much more mundane.

"And yes, I know that it is truly sorcery and 'real magic' but that does nothing to change my viewpoint of it being an impressive sight and very entertaining to behold. So either a live show or I shall catch this streaming special." Diana watches Netflix too! ... sometimes anyway.

Zatanna Zatara has posed:
"Well, some of it's real magic. I actually don't do too much of the hard stuff. A lot of it's just... tricks." Zatanna allows herself a little smile at that. "All I have to do is not tell you which is which... and suddenly, they're ALL sorcery. But yeah, yeah, I can get you a box or something. Assuming you're not fighting a giant robot that night or picking up another couple hundred humanitarian awards."

Wonder Woman has posed:
A big grin flashes across the dark haired woman across from Zatanna. "You are teasing me." She says then about the robot and the awards bit. Her dark eyebrows lift up and she nods her head. "Assuming... and it is a big assumption mind you... that I am not doing one of those two things, or both of them at the very same time... then yes, I would be honored to accept an invitation to your Sorcery and Misdirection extravaganza." A knowing smile spreads across her red hued lips then and there, as she was being rather playful here and trying to showcase that she isn't always a serious sap like the television and internet often portrays the Justice League's members.

Zatanna Zatara has posed:
Zatanna confesses to the teasing with a smile. "A little bit. I figure you're tough enough to take it." Zatanna sits back on the sofa, still holding her empty cup, but not calling attention to it. It seems like she just wants to have something in her hands to fiddle with. "A Night of Sorcery and Misdirection. Not a bad title, really."

Wonder Woman has posed:
And then Diana is reaching for said cup and moving to stand up again. "I am all for being the source of your next show's title. Rarely do I try to boast about my exploits, but that? That would be one that I would point at and gladly--proudly--declare 'Thats mine, I came up with that!'." She grins to the other then.

"Are you staying for dinner tonight? Or do you have to rush home to deal with Imps that are tearing apart all of your... everything?" She asks whilst moving to stand to go get another drink for her guest. "Again, if you need help... Rarely has an Imp ever presented a challenge to me. I believe I could round them all up in short order." But she may under-estimate the situation inside Shadowcrest!

Zatanna Zatara has posed:
"Dinner sounds great to me, if you're offering," Zatanna says. She lets Diana take the cup. It's not like she's strong enough to defeat her in a cup-tug-of-war. "The problem at home isn't really just the IMPS, it's that they spent a week or two raising holy hell in there. So there are lots of... I'll put it this way, it's kinda dangerous at the moment. It's sealed off from anyone trying to get in, and anything in there trying to get out, so..." Zatanna rubs the back of her neck. "Thanks for the offer, though, seriously. And about the name thing... tell that to whoever you want, except for my lawyers." Zatanna's worried expression returns to a smile.

Wonder Woman has posed:
The cup is returned with another round of tea for the woman who just looks rather exhausted. "You are of course invited to dinner. It is part of the entire package of claiming a room here for one's personal use. Free meals, on the house. You just have to bare with the company of four Amazonian women that often start to argue with one another on the proper ways to fell a monster, or defeat one another in the sparring ring. If that is acceptable terms, then I am sure you will have a good time."

An intern taps softly on the doorframe from the open office doors and garners Diana's attention. The intern relays that the room has been prepared. Diana thanks the young woman and then motions to the hallway. "See? Such good people here. Swift and accomodating. And... we keep the lawyers far away from us." She's teasing though and the grin proves it.

Zatanna Zatara has posed:
Zatanna laughs at the description of dinner with the Amazons, after thanking Diana for the refill. "I think that sounds a little mild compared to some of the tours I've been on," she grins. "So yeah, that's fine by me."
