Star Sapphire has posed:
Ferris Industries isn't the military's first or best contractor, but they do get some work done here and there in aeronautics, enough to have a few connections to pull for the CEO to ask for a meeting with the mighty Captain Marvel for a business proposition and lunch. You've spoken with her on the phone a few times (another Carol, which fact you can take as much amusement in as you like), and she's promised you a serious offer she thinks will be up your alley, as well as, this promise delivered with smooth amusement, either a passcard waiting for you at the front desk or an open balcony to her office depending on your preference. However you choose to enter, Carol Ferris will be waiting for you with a wide smile on her face, nattily dressed in business sharp, a white silk blouse peeking out of a navy blue jacket and pants that flare ever so slightly at the ankles. "Captain!" she cries heartily at your appearance. "Please, come in! I'm delighted to see you."

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
It's not everyday that someone manages to get through to Carol when it comes to requesting a meeting, what with the Avengers, U.S.A.F., C.I.A., there's usually more than enough roadblocks. To get to Carol one would have to actually know her, or be someone sailing the sphere of high importance. So when Carol got this invitation to discuss a serious matter, she took to it in all seriousness. She shows up dressed in her USAF uniform, looking quite imppressive and no-nonsense. Some of her friends often joked with her that she looked more menacing in her uniform, rather than her various costumes through the years. She comes the traditional way, through the front desk, and is shown the way to Carol's office. She grins at the greeting, "these actually say Colonel, but I am certainly far more famous as Captain, see how humble I am?" A bit of military humor never hurt anyone, though not everyone are equally amused by it. "Nice to meet another Carol who takes to the skies...what's the proposition at stake?" She seems quite direct at getting to the issue.

Star Sapphire has posed:
Ferris's office is wide, and a table has been brought in; a long, asymmetrical oval with a bit of a curve taken out of one side, the semi-golden wood polished smooth. Chairs have been placed at either end, and a nice lunch is arranged on platters: mushroom-barley soup; garden salad with sweet vinegar dressing and candied rose petals; trout stuffed with silvered carrots, ginger, and lemon; brisket of beef in peppery sauce with a side of golden mashed potatoes with chives and white cheese; and some kind of layered dessert pancake with crushed nuts and jellied berries between each layer. Wine and water alike are chilling in glasses that sweat as if with anticipation. But those things are behind Ferris: you're before her, and her smile is wide and genuine as she walks around the table to find your hand and shake it firmly. "Humility is one thing, Colonel, but accomplishment deserves recognition, and I could sit here forever stoking your ego if every news station on the world wasn't already loving you." Her gaze up (even with her heels) into your eyes is fearless and openly admiring, and her handshake uses a trick you might be familiar with: her forefinger is stealthily extended so it brushes against the veins in your wrist, a gesture that is almost hardwired to excite a human with its intimacy and create receptiveness.
When the handshake breaks, Ferris gestures to the table. "I hope it isn't too extravagant. I heard once that you can swallow stars, so it seemed wise to pick a couple of courses in case you brought that appetite with you!"
Huh. Ferris's nose crinkles when she smiles.

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
While the meal waiting is certainly exquisite and no doubt carry an aroma that draws attention, Danvers is well disciplined, and her full attention is beset on Ferris, and when they shake hands she proves to have a firm handshake even without using her powers. That's natural, years of having to assert herself at an old boys club that is high ranking officers in the USAF. "I try to do the best I can," Danvers is certainly still not used to handling the showering of compliments she's been getting in recent years. In a way it was easier when she was less famous. "It's not for the accolades, so much as the duty." Noting the admiration reflecting in Ferris' eyes, Danvers offers a softened warm smile, "shall we have a sit then?" Danvers of course isn't quite entirely human, so the affect may not be as pronounced on her, that or she shows tremendous control of herself as she moves calmly to the table.
She laughs at the tidbit about her capacity to swallow stars, and in a way, she hopes Ferris doesn't know how true the statement used to be when she was Binary. "I always match what I am presented with, be it little or as is the case her, tremendous generosity. I hope you won't leave everything to me...we are sharing right?" And that's where Carol shows she's also capable of humor, albeit hers tends to be subtle, many would take her question at face value.

Star Sapphire has posed:
Ferris smiles at you. "While it might be interesting to see you try to eat all that yourself, I left my smartphone at the desk, and what's the point of making you do something like that if I'm not going to try to upload it to YouTube?" she teases, but lightly. "Let's share, please." Your hostess takes a plate and some silverware, but passes them to you, so you get first choice of everything. She's ten years your junior, but she has some manners! As you serve yourself, she chatters pleasantly, "So tell me, Colonel, have you ever flown in that uniform? I've always been curious about people who can fly without mechanical assistance. Are the aerodynamics noticeably different? Does not wearing spandex create wind pockets in your clothing? Little things like that intrigue me."

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
"If you were to try and upload a YouTube video of me eating, one of two things would happen," Danvers notes while looking directly at Ferris with a borderline serious, borderline joking kind of expression that's hard to pin down. "One: I would destroy the camera. Two: I would refuse to eat." She shakes her head and feigns chastising Ferris, "never joke about filming a woman eat, that's just not to be done."
Being given first selection, Danvers goes about picking her meal, not going overboard at all. She's showing good manners herself, as she looks up at Ferris and smiles at the questions. Perhaps a bit more professional styled than the usual, but aligned with some she has been asked in fan events in the past for the Avengers. "I did not fly in my dress uniform, we have a flight suit for flight missions," at first it might seem she didn't get the question. But turns out it was just some more of her dry humor, as she actually answers the real question next, "what you wear certainly has aerodynamic consequence. I'm not sure if other heroes who do not have Air Force experience appreciate or even notice it the same. But you're right. I would say every flyer who wears baggy clothes, capes," she then pauses and sounds really disparaging for a moment, "skirts..." as if not even fathoming that choice, "well, they are hampering down their maneuverability and reaction time in the air. I'd say keeping to skin tight outfit gives me a direct edge in aerobatical maneuvers."

Star Sapphire has posed:
Ferris nods at you, nose crinkling in time with her smile, as she picks her way deftly through the leftovers (not that there won't be leftovers still, even if both Carols go back for seconds!). "I'd imagined something like that must happen," she agrees. "It's too easy to imagine flying in a collar like yours or mine, and the wind simply pooling in your shirt or even blasting the buttons apart if you were to go too fast." She laughs throatily. "The things a person has to think about in your line of work, hm?" she prompts gently as she moves to take a seat at one end of the table, five feet from you. She lifts her wine glass in silent toast to your health and watched you over the rim, eyes sparkling as she listens to you.

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
Danvers nods as Ferris gives some solid examples on why flying, at least the tactical sort done for superheroics, demands to be respected with proper attire for flight. "Some of the younger ones no doubt lost a trench coat or two while trying to look 'cool' in the air," she grins at Ferris, before taking a drink to wash some of the food down. Dancers returns the toast, to Ferris' health as it were, and while it's a pleasant conversation and a delectable meal, she proceeds with reminding, "you didn't invite me just to ask about difference of aerodynamic quality of different outfits, right?" A polite signaling to Ferris that Danvers would like the main course of the meeting, rather than the meal.

Star Sapphire has posed:
"True, I didn't," Ferris concedes, as she forks a bite of salad into her mouth. She rolls it around on her tongue, enjoying it, before swallowing. "In my desk, I have a dozen folders detailing my charity work, which you'll be welcome to take with you and read at your leisure. Think of them as a resume. I have a significant amount of money, Colonel. A shameful amount. Literally shameful; there's almost no need for it when so many people need help." More salad crunches politely in her teeth as she gives you time to think about that. "I'm aware of your propensity for charity, and I'd like to partner with you, Colonel. I'd like your thoughts on where in our society you and I can combine to do the most good, and how we can effectively use my money and your celebrity to accomplish that. Like you, I have a strong preference toward women and our issues, but I'm not blind to how much inequity there is in the world. In short, Colonel?" She smiles at you, dazzling in her sincerity. "I want to help you change the world."
