Cast of Characters: Yin, Carrie Kelley, Batman, Green Arrow

Yin has posed:
Yin has been absent from Gotham for awhile.. and Carrie hasn't been seen on her rooftop runs. Nor has she been teaching Damian for a few days. And usually, Yin is a specialist - she does wellness checks on ancient Chinese martial arts masters and their students who run small studios.

Today? They are doing a roof run. There are no martial arts studios in their path - this is a patrol of sorts. She has Carrie wearing soft soled thin gongfu slippers for stealth - can't sneak in thick soles after all.

The past couple days, she went from intensive forms and bag work to sparring. There's only so much she can accomplish by having you beat on HER though. So we are searching.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
THIS. This is what Carrie had missed while training under Yin. It wasn't to say that she wasn't learning -- She was learning in leaps and bounds things she hadn't even realized were possible outside of kung-fu movies. But feeling the wind in her hair as she races over rooftops, tucking her knees up to her chest with long jumps to flit through the air toward another roof only to land in a smooth run... This was one of the things she had been teaching herself. One of the things Selina had caught her at, and taught her how to do properly. One of the things that now, with her heightened strenght and endurance from Yin's training, felt so much better to do.

It was fun.

Carrie lands in a roll only to spring to her feet again resuming her run, a small addition to the endeavor tonight to just enjoy herself when she could. A bit of enjoyment before the real deal at least. Her hair is kept loose since it isn't overly long, and her face is covered with green tinted wrap-around glasses to both hide her face a bit, and help her see in the darker lighting. Otherwise she doesn't have a 'suit' so much as something pieced together. A catsuit, a few items attached to her thigh by a belt-pouch, and those shoes to help her remain quiet. Nothing else remarkable here.

Batman has posed:
Batman watches things in many ways. In this case, several of the bats he sends around the city with small harmless cameras he has tagged on them triggers a complex machine learning algorhym in the bat computer which triggers an automated notice. He moves in shadows alone the way, entirely unseen, paralell to the two new vigilantes as he swung from hook to hook, leaping along the rooftops himself. He was a shadow, a shadow watching shadows. He knew both of them, and tonight was a crucible. Tonight, they would pass or they would fail.

Yin has posed:
Yin holds up a finger and stops, then tilts her head and moves toward the edge of the roof. Below, a gang of four guys in jackets jump out of a car parked across a small street to swarm the car that just stopped because of the blockade. Carjacking. She quickly glances over the scene and looks at Carrie. "Plan?" She relaxes, sizing up the scene quickly. Blockade one, blockade two.. She knows how SHE would deal with it, but she's been trying to teach Carrie.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley pauses at the signal to look over the grouping below with a forming frown. Her hand was already moving to the pouch on her thigh fingering the opening to pull out a slingshot. Not one of those cheap wood ones, but an actual metal slingshot used for target shooting. "Smoke bombs to distract and disorient them, but only aimed toward one side to herd them in a direction. They'll likely think it's Batman or someone similar and panic. Easy to pick off. First priority is making sure the driver they're after is safe, though."

Batman has posed:
Batman continues watching for now. He is not impressed by their analysis though he knows their hearts are in the right place. He keeps an eye on the civilians. He wants to intervene but if he does so, he will ruin their test. He is ready to do so at a moments notice though.

Yin has posed:
Yin tilts her head, dubious. That doesn't sound like a great plan to her. "Nobody is watching the lookouts."

She turns and runs to the corner of the building, then drops down, rolls, pops up and pounces on the front barricade driver, hammering him with a quick attack, covering his mouth, and backing it up with some pressure points before casually slipping away from the door and glancing to see where Carrie has gone.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Ah. Well darn. Carrie was still not so great at plans, sadly. But given the right direction... Now that she could do.

While Yin goes after the lookouts on one side, Carrie does similarily to the other barricade side. By the time Yin looks her way the guy is also out and she's tucked herself back into the shadows. Crouching down she's pulled out a slingshot to take aim toward one of the others further in. Once she takes aim, she grins, and lets it go sending a shot toward the ass of one of the guys running. Hopefully it would feel like one of his fellows had smacked his ass. Nothing like dissent in the ranks.

Batman has posed:
Batman lands in the shadows of a nearby alley, knocking two thugs out they didn't even see. He moves through a duck and roll under the car itself, ready to act directly in case things do not go according their plan. He remains, coiled and tensed.

Yin has posed:
The gang has the driver out of the car and is ready to make their escape! Just as soon as their barricades move... as soon as their barricades move.. oh right, those cars aren't moving now, are they?
One of the guys yelps, "Something hit me? What the hell?" and they start looking around. This crew knows each other enough to know that wasn't a slap.

Yin sighs. Alarm raised, this is harder now. Closing on people on alert is her weakness. She hops up to the awning and hopes it holds as she makes her way closer to the car, hoping nobody looks up that way.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Maybe Yin wasn't so good at that, but Carrie doesn't seem to have the same issue. Forgoing her long distance weapon she runs out of her shadows onto one of the parked barricade cars. Flipping off, she lands close to one of the fellows in a crouch. Her fist is thrown out quickly sending a punch straight to the guys' junk. As he starts to double over she rises up with the other fist cracking him in the chin. Who knew he had a glass jaw? At least one is out of the equation.

From there she practically dances on to the next, working with fast, efficient movements thanks to Yin's training.

Batman has posed:
Batman is not pleased. He is getting annoyed now and very close to intervention at this point. He doesn't care how good their fighting skills are if they endanger civilians. He moves quietly up in the car as one of them moves to the side and threatens the driver as he nerve pinches the guy and drags him under the car, still remaining unseen. The look on his face is not happy.

Yin has posed:
The next one spins around with a short club in two hands, swinging it at Carrie's head and guarding himself. The other two spread out and start flanking Carrie, one with a bicycle chain and the other with a carpentry hammer. Thankfully they don't seem to be paying much mind to the driver, who is running away.

Yin drops down to offer support, then pauses and glances under the car curiously. Getting some idea of shape and appearance, she waggles her fingers in greeting then crouches down to watch how Carrie handles herself, ready to jump in. She murmurs at the car, "..Solid D work, but this isn't my area of expertise."

Batman has posed:
Batman slips out from under the vehicle. He looms largely. He does this well and then steps onto the back of the pick up. "The plan was a poor one, you adjusted after you realized it was bad, you lost the element of surprise. You did not account for three of the men who were the threat to a civilian." He lets a moment of silence loom as he does before he simply says in an understated tone of voice, "Unacceptable. No one makes you put a mask on. I don't attack people in my city who do this without my authorization. But when you go and do this you do not endanger civilians. I gave you both a chance. You failed.

Green Arrow has posed:
Global patrols take Green Arrow just about everywhere... and it seems Gotham is his patrol for today. The fungus war taking up so much time for containment and destruction, Green Arrow has been in the city for the better part of the day, and knows Yin and Carrie are doing their own thing tonight. Taking a detour, his Skybike is in motorcycle mode as he drives his way over.

By the time he's nearby, Green Arrow is listening to Batmans rant. The emerald archer steps off his Skybike to one side, before he transitions his bow into a staff, holstering it on the backpack quiver. Green Arrows frown under the white lensed domino mask and green hood betrays a hint of disapproval. To what? Hard to say. Nonetheless, Green Arrow is already walking over as Batman is laying into the two.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley takes a rather deep breath when Batman comes out to loom. He was, after all, intimidating. Either way she was currently surrounded. "Not the way I would have chosen to handle things, but guess what, there's not really a school on this shit is there?" She kicks her leg back, sending one of the guys around her flying back. The one with the bike chain is taken next, by throwing the guy with the club at him. It tangles up the chain, as well as their legs sending them down as well. Once suitably taken care of she pulls out a handful of zip ties intending to cuff those she could. It's only once that's done that she turns her attention back to the Bat.

And Green Arrow? Well this was probably going to be a long lecture. She braces herself with jaw set stubbornly waiting for the worst to come.

Yin has posed:
Yin nods to the Arrow. She walks over to a building, jumps up and climbs to the first story roof, grabs a camera, and lightly tosses it to the Arrow, then sits on the ledge silently. (and goes very afk)

Batman has posed:
Batman is perfectly aware of Green Arrow's arrival. Indeed, if he didn't know better, his mind equates there being no coincidence. "Gotham is not your personal playpen. If you want to train, do it in Sterling. If you come here again and anyone gets hurt, then I will ensure you are found and tried for it just like I would with any other criminal. There, actually, are schools, for which neither of you appear qualified." He looks at Green Arrow and smiles, "It's not a rant." Is he telepathic? "It's a fact. Start messing with my city, and we'll see how you like what I start doing in Sterling."

Green Arrow has posed:
"I didn't say a word about anything you said, Batman, but if you want to start throwing around threats for shit I haven't even thought about considering, you can take it and shove it where the bats don't screech." Green Arrow speaks, his voice mask distorting his voice as he approaches. "I was in the city and decided to check up on what they were doing. So far, it sounds like they're not up to the batsy school of hard knocks." Green Arrow gives a look to Carrie, then, his head tilting just so as he glances her up and down, "you want to learn the basics before you get out here and do what we do, sweetheart."

Green Arrow walks up to Carrie, offering a hand, "I'm Green Arrow. I've heard you've been learning about how to handle yourself."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
"Starling? *Starling*?"

Carrie's response is at once incredulous, and then...

She laughs.

Head thrown back, laughing out loud, at Batman. It's short lived humor though, and she steps forward to JAB a finger in against his chest. It's really all she can reach given her height.

"75th and Ainsbury. Third house down on the left, fifth floor, apartment 4E. OR, if you want something more updated, Gotham U. at the East Side dorm. Which is to say..."

"I LIVE IN GOTHAM. I was born here, grew up here, and have dealt with the crime here since I was a kid. And I'm fed up just 'dealing with it.'"

Green Arrow's approach earns her gaze snapping toward him. The offered hand is considered though she still stares with a hint of anger. "Don't call me sweetheart. Nice to meet you." The hand is shaken but it's clear she was riled up.

Batman has posed:
Batman looks at Carrie and nods, "I know where you live. I know what you had for breakfast. I know your grade. Not impressed there either." He looks at Green Arrow and grunts, "Glass houses." It is a deliberately caliberated and yet vague insult based on what he knows of GA's background and psyche profile. Guilt riddles the man and said the right way....he turns to Carrie. "You laughed while you were doing this. This is your one and only warning. You want to make a difference? Go to Metropolis, go to his city. Go to New York. You put on a mask and do this here, you will find I have ways of dealing with people who displease me. But by all means," now he smiles widely, and it is an unnatural and creepy thing, "Please. Test me on this."

Green Arrow has posed:
The hand is taken, and released. "When I'm not handling the fungus war, I'd be willing to help train you for this life." Green Arrow notes as he takes the camera that was offered by Yin, catching it deftly. "Everyone makes mistakes, even if this one-" two fingered gesture to the Dark Knight "-has incredible standards about that sort of thing." Green Arrow gives a two finger salute up to Yin as Yin leaves, and Green Arrow turns to start heading back to his bike. "Be safe, as much as the fungus and this city lets you be. If you want to take up the offer of training, talk to Yin. Yin can get in contact with me." Green Arrow gives a wave from behind as he goes.

Batman has posed:
Batman says, "This one has incredible standards about this kind of thing in his city. Train her all you like. In your city." He raises a grapple, and shoots it toward a nearby rooftop. He nods to Green Arrow, "You break it you buy it." And just like that he vanishes."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley scowls, and crosses her arms over her chest. "I did not laugh. Except at you. And I'm a straight A student... Wait." Her eyes narrow. "Are you stalking me?" Her head shakes a single time, and she turns her back on him. "No. I'm not leaving my home just because you want your own personal playpen. I'll keep learning, and get better, but this is my HOME."

Green Arrow's offer is accepted with a nod of agreement. "I will, thanks."
