Cast of Characters: Gorilla Grodd, Kid

Gorilla Grodd has posed:
Gorilla Grodd has arranged to meet with Kid wanting to keep track of him as time goes on. He waited in one of his safe houses in America and carefully watching the monitors, rising to greet him on arrival. "Welcome."

Kid has posed:
Kid came as promised, more or less. While he had been welcomed with open arms, Kids wild nature and rather volatile temper at times was a rather big problem. He acted rashly and with extream aggression having dropped several other Gorillas. But there was a pattern - each dropped one had been either a sciencetist or a kind of authority figure - Grodd being a notable exception to this rule.
He looks around at the room, not likeing the place already. Felt to closed. But still, he smiled a bit when he saw Grodd and signs "Hey...you wanted to see me?" he asks.

Gorilla Grodd has posed:
Gorilla Grodd is smiling widely, "I am impressed. You know Kid, there is something I hadn't been meaning to tell you about for some time, but I'm impressed. Tell me...your rages, were this to show dominance or something else?" He has a light in his eyes that Kid hasn't seen before. "Because as i said, I'm impressed.

Kid has posed:
Kid was admittedly nervous about Grodd wanting to see him. He still knew little about the leader of Gorilla city. Kid scratches his stomech with a hand as He thinks back to the encounters before signing "I do not like sciencetist...I do not like 'guards'. They will not cage me...no one will" it was his past, he wanted to make sure he wouldn't be hurt. But considering the silver and gold hair developing on his back, this rage was likely dominance mixed with trauma. "You...are not mad?"

Gorilla Grodd has posed:
Gorilla Grodd says, "Ha, very predatory of you Kid. Tell me, do you know the STORY of Gorilla City? Any of our past? But yes, that is a good attitude to have but you should be more careful. I have been able to make your crimes ...obscured, but you can't hide from Gorilla City. They're not like incompotent human authorities. I doubt you have the infrastructure. But...I could help with that."

Kid has posed:
Kid lets out a growl as he signs "They can try, you can try" his aggression comming right to the surface when it came to talks of crimes "I can hide well enough that neither Gorilla City, nor humans knew of my existance" which might be a point in Kid corner. However, there was curiosity "But...no. I do not know anything about Gorilla city...or what you mean by infrastructure for that matter"

Gorilla Grodd has posed:
Gorilla Grodd says, "I was like you once, young, full of rage...I thought so too....then Solovar took me each time I escaped. He kept finding me. Tell me, in the things you have heard of, does this seem familiar," he takes out a small pin that looks like a pair of raging fangs. "Think as hard asyou can, did those you were captured with ever mention anything about this symbol?"

Kid has posed:
Kid reaches forward and takes the symbol. The story sounded familiar enough. He thinks back long and hard. As he did so, his anger was growing...but his grief far more so "...I...I think my mom did." he forwards his brow "A...warning?" he says with confusion, uncertainty.

Gorilla Grodd has posed:
Gorilla Grodd says, "Well, they wouldn't say good things about it. Long ago, Gorillas, regular gorillas were uplifted by an alien who was lonely and needed help repairing his ship. He wasn't a bad guy, but, let us merely say, that he also didn't really think to ASK the Gorillas before he updated them. Some of the Gorillas though, did not 'take' to the uplifting so sometimes needed extra treatment. Long, painful treatment. There was one person who organized them all, a terrible Gorilla who killed others. Eventually, so the story goes, the Gorillas were all properly uplifted, the alien went to the skies, and Gorilla City settled down into an orderly republic. It travled through time, spending some time waiting for the humans to not be pathetic psychotic killers."

Kid has posed:
The story sounded familiar, he visibly winces at 'long, painful treatment'. He signs "So is that all we are? Experiments? To be toyed with and played with as if we do not matter?" he growls "...and who was this...terrible Gorilla?" he wonders.

Gorilla Grodd has posed:
Gorilla Grodd says, "No. They story has a point. The point is that most Gorillas are herbavores, they act like it and eat fruit all day, but Gorillas are Omnivores Kid. If we are omnivores, and you take away Herbivores from our regular diet....what does that leave?" He grins and his teeth look just like the badge, "That man, the one who died was my father. And his father had a rival, the one called Solovar. And for a long time, our benevolent president did nothing but move our city forward through time. And we never grew and we never learned anything about the humans. I saw my father ultimately exiled and die of old age as our city moved forward through time and his organization was banished and forgotten. He didn't even know about Ape City. None of us did. No, you are not an EXPERIMENT, Kid. You have been raging, paying back people, feeding your needs." Grodd has hyper intelligence and while he might not KNOW Kids affliction.....he can guess." There is a pause, "What are you?"

Kid has posed:
"You...leave a carnivore" Kid signs. What WERE his needs? He acted on instinct and aggression. While he was able to coexist and even befriend some humans, most just ended up in a coma for a bit and he moved on. He notes the grin and how it resembled the badge...fear crept into Kid. But that question lingured. He says instead of signs in a deep beastial voice, made harsh by lack of use "...I..am...a fighter" it was the only thing he can think of.

Gorilla Grodd has posed:
Gorilla Grodd says, "Those who I rule..those you attack, they are like us. But they are NOT like us...better than humans, but ignorant. Herbivores, taking a part of their very nature and repressing it, making themselves good and kind and studious. Science is actually good. Knowledge is power. Would you have been able to evade the authorities or your captors if you were dumb ape? But....BUT..." his eyes glow a moment and a telekinetic ball of red power appears in his hand, "We are more. **I** am a predator. And you can be one too Kid. If you will let me teach you. A fighter is as good a word as any.""

Kid has posed:
Kid falls silent. His eyes darted about. He was wild, he did what he liked. He never tried to surpress who he was. Perhaps...perhaps he was a predator too. His eyes fall on the ball. The warning his mother instill rang loudly, likely being one of those who repressed their nature? But the hardship he faced? Why would he? He hesitates, and begins to speaks, his voice was uncertain, but what he experinced drove him forward. People ran from predators after all. If they where smart "Whe...when do we..." his voice catches, but a single thought goes out o O ("start?")

Gorilla Grodd has posed:
Gorilla Grodd looks at him and smiles. "We start with you telling me what is really going on. This is more than an adolecent plea for attention. You start with telling me something..." he smiles and tosses the badge to Kid,"And then I tell you something in return.

Kid has posed:
Kid catches the badge and looks it over. Well...guess if this is going to work, he needs to be honest. Having done enough physical speaking, he sticks with telepathy, but there was definintly something deeper going on o O ("It feels like my hunger is always growing, and it slips away") he shrugs and sits on his hunches ("But really...so much is changing so quickly...I am afraid. Afraid that the scientest gorillas are like human ones...or worse that they might end up like uncle Jaun").

Gorilla Grodd has posed:
Gorilla Grodd arches a brow,"Intruiging. If bumbling idiots were trying to augment our telepathy or poking around for the active sesipenae which give us our abilities to make psi tech..." he frowns as he has vague hints of who has been messing wit hKid. "They are not like the humans. The Gorillas are either predators or passive herbivors but they don't like and except for you we only attack our own kind to help our kind. But you are young...and learning. That badge is illegal, and terrifies most of our kind, but our kind needs protection, both from itself and others. That badge means...you have a higher order. But it is a thing you need to be able to hide. I think I might be able to help with that.

Kid has posed:
Perhaps that why the badge scares him. Surface memories come of his mother warning to to stay away with anyone he saw with the badge. That they were war-like and a danger to Gorilla City. He even vaguely recalls his mother argueing with another about Grodds rule. But they were foggy at best. As he held the badge his hand shakes more, and he finds himself gripping it tightly trying to fight the terror it instill, to the point where he cuts his own hand...but even than he doesn't release the badge. There was indeed a chance to cultivate the predator in Kid beyound what he has done.
"Why does it terrifie them...terrfie me? What does this badge really mean? What is our higher order? How can I hide something I know nothing about?"

Gorilla Grodd has posed:
Gorilla Grodd says, "It terrifies them because we do what we must. And because they have had, deep in their minds, conditioning placed their for their safety by the alien to help them become enlightened and peaceful and industrious. I have absolutely lied and done terribly things Kid. But I don't need to lie about this. Of course our benevelent benefactor put these fears there, of course he did because how else do you FORCE an animal to be 'enlightened'? It never occured to him to ASK. Have you spoken to a regular Ape Kid? I have. They are not as smart as us, but they, ironically, would have accepted. But they still might have killed or done other uncivilzed things. Most in Ape city are good and kind and altrustic, much better than humans. But Kid..." he paused, "Most apes, dumb apes, that is, are better than humans but they still cheat and lie and steal...so you tell me....do you trust a fellow ape....or the conditioning that was placed in you by a benevolent scientist?" He reached out a hand, "Come with me...."

Kid has posed:
Kid looked at Grodd in a new light...he felt fear towards him but also admiration. Everything in him screams to run away. Like a voice yelling inside his head. He closes his eyes trying to shut it out. Sure his trauma 'cracked' the initial conditioning, but it was strong and raging with that symbol.
But ultimately, spurred by anger at everything, Grodd in this moment seemed the most real person he has met. He takes Grodd hand, but couldn't bring himself to say the words. Not that any was needed.
