Date of Scene: 19 July 2018
Location: New Asgard
Synopsis: Betsy meets Tony and plans are made.
Cast of Characters: Iron Man, Thor, Psylocke

Iron Man has posed:
The sleek STARK plane makes a clean sweep over the islands before coming back in, lower. It adjusts, and the high tech nature of the thing becomes apparent: a vertical landing is in progress, once it has found a suitable open spot. With a flare of noise, the plane adjusts and settles directly downwards, repulsing thrusters coming on line in a vibrant glow of gold and bronze down the wings of the aircraft. It lands, finally.

The pilot relaxes in the seat, while two assistants emerge from the passenger area with Tony Stark himself. He's not in his clean business casual: this is more just to check in, not make a big show of his support with fanfare for cameras, and is dressed in tech-sleek athletic wear as he heads down off of the plane, sunglasses taking down some of the harsh light as he takes in the sight of the island.

Thor has posed:
It's a beautiful place, one that has drawn people from across the world and makes one either affirm their belief or question that they have none for such a work seems as if it has to have been the touch of the divine. Only fitting, then, that a race of those some have called Gods have decided to settle there.
When the Stark jet had approached Tony was able to see what had been done in the short time. The makeshift dock with its aluminum structure and the recently deployed columns that support it. The tent and pre-fab shelters that provide most of the people their homesteads for now, a well-ordered mass leading up from the beach. And then there's even what looks like a quarry and stone from that quarry creating the outline of a large building up along the summit of that cliffside overlook. The very place that Odin stood and declared...
/ This could be Asgard. /
For Thor perhaps took him a touch too literally. Yet no trepidation shows on the tall blonde man as he emerges from the settlement, walking through the archway that offers a point of ingress past a barrier wall that currently is barely two feet high but likely may be moreso late. There are people working on the building, people standing watch, and even some men and women on a field practicing with blunted weaponry.
It is all alive, thanks in no small effort to the man who approaches.
"Stark! You scoundrel. It takes you this long to see you in person. Am I left on your wait list to be placed on hold with that light blinking so?"

Psylocke has posed:
There are still those who have needed Betsy's special abilities. She has worked with a few of them after recovering for a day after the mass exodus of an entire race from the fallen Frigga's Mercy. Today she had worked with one of the female warriors, removing that dark taint left by the Elves.
There weren't as many left now for her to care for so her time amongst these people was coming to an end. Many would be friends though, people she might call on to see how they fare as their lives continue. Yet, she has spent much time away from her position back at Xavier's. Not that it is a huge deal. Someone else was teaching her classes and her extracurricular activities with the X-Men had been slow of late so there had been no missions she's missed.
She walked through the makeshift camp then hesitated as she spied the plane landing. As Stark exited and Thor greeted him, she smiled to herself and continued forward. She would steal a moment if she could, once the greetings were over, to check in with Thor before heading home.

Iron Man has posed:
"I don't suffer jetlag for just anybody," Tony grins in response when he gets a little bit closer. Two of assistants stay at the plane and one actually comes with Tony; the pilot emerges and relaxes outside of it, taking the time to smoke and chat with the assistants.

Tony extends a hand to snare Thor's in the 'warrior' greeting Thor usually seems to use as a default, Tony's expression relaxed suddenly, as if with a relief for Thor's clear progress. "You look decent, considering," Tony teases briefly, then lets that slide for a more serious, "You good?" in a quick, quiet manner. It is a check-in of a respectful sort, slid in within the 'show' of them greeting in a positive manner. If something IS up, an opportunity for Thor to convey it without showing weakness to others around them that could be observing.

Thor has posed:
Thor lightly taps a fingertip against his eyepatch, "Still rough around the edges I am told. I think it makes me look... debonair." He offers, as if having learned that word recently. But then with a laugh he accepts the handshake and the two grasp forearms, though there's no overbearing from the Thunderer, just a few good solid shakes then a clap to the other man's shoulder.
"I am better now." He says with a nod towards the development even as he turns around then he'll espy Psylocke and her approach. "Ah, and now I have a chance to introduce you to Lady Elizabeth Braddock." The blonde man uncurls a hand to gesture towards the tall violet-haired woman, "Lady Braddock this rogue is Anthony Stark," He motions with one hand appropriately and then offers aside, "She is a telepath of some power, and a warrior of some renown."
That serves for the verbal message he gives to Stark, but the quirk of an eyebrow given adds a context to it that might indicate if Tony is going to... court this woman, then he had best be wary.

Psylocke has posed:
As she closes the distance, Betsy looks over to Tony with a smile. "We've met, albeit briefly." She offers a hand to Tony. "A pleasure to meet you again." She looks back to Thor and offers an explanation.
"Tony had toured our school previously with the Professor. We were introduced by name but I had to hurry off to my next class and didn't get to socialize. So more a hit and run meeting," she says with a shrug.
She keeps her attention on Thor. "I didn't mean to interrupt but I think I've cleared the last of your people from the taint. At least all those I had been told about. So I was going to head back to New York unless you needed me for anything else."

Iron Man has posed:
"'Rogue'?" Tony echoes. "That suggests you think I'm dishonest," Tony comments of Thor in a false 'hurt' tone, as if he were deeply affronted. "Good to see you again, Ms. Braddock," Tony greets her, accepting her hand in return clealy, with one of those smiles that suggests Thor was probably correct to remind him of what a warrior she is. Not that it WILL make much difference overall. Because he doesn't actually flirt much, beyond the appreciative look at her features.

Tony rests his hands against his pockets while he observes Betsy's interruption, taking in the information himself. "That's right, telepath was you," Tony says, with sudden different interest. He can't keep track of which women have which talents, obviously. "I actually have a question or two, but Thor's taint still has priority." Said with straight face and everything.

Thor has posed:
"That is good news indeed," Thor answers with a nod towards Betsy, "That you have been successful." He adds, brow furrowing a touch as his one good eye shifts between the two of them. "Not that you are to depart."
That having been said he starts to walk towards the gate that is not quite a gate yet, footsteps carrying him along the gravel walk that had been laid along the path up the hill towards the settlement. He walks along lifting his gaze upwards for a moment, but Tony's comment gains a smirking sidelong look. "She is freed from her commission with us, Stark. Ply what talents you have and see if you can gain her interest."

Psylocke has posed:
"For a moment there, I thought you were going to throw a party since I was leaving," Betsy quips to Thor after the hasty addition to his reaction. She's trailing along with them, glancing from one to the other. The 'taint' bit wasn't missed, simply ignored. Obviously they are good friends who are comfortable with such teasing. She's the outsider here.
"What sort of questions do you have?" Betsy asks as she glances over at Tony. "About telepathy, I'm assuming?"

Iron Man has posed:
"Yes, telepathy related. I'm dealing with the fungal invasion." Tony pauses, gestures slowly outwards, "And there's been a group of people twisting it for their own aims. Telepaths, supposedly. The best move is to sort out if they've told us the truth, or what: which means getting a telepath on our own payroll, if you're up for some planet-saving," Tony offers in his overly casual way.

Some seriousness comes to the flippant billionaire though as he follows across the gravel and gets a better look at the island. The smile drains out of his dark eyes. "All of this won't mean as much if they continue to gain ground."

Thor has posed:
"In all fairness there is to be a gathering," Thor looks between them as he pauses as a fairly large group of Asgardians walk past carrying building materials over their shoulders in a steady caravan of some thirty individuals. They carry immense boulders to tree trunks to sacks of what look like gravel, so it gives the trio time to stand and speak. Thor folds his arms over his broad chest, "A bonfire, and a small ceremony to thank the land for accepting us. Though..." His brow knits as he returns a nod to one of the Asgardians that walk by and salutes him.
"It is traditionally for us alone." Thor's discomfort is clear as he says this.
But then Tony mentions the mushroom creatures and he frowns. "Aye, if you would have us myself and some five score warriors would be of aid. Though we know not how best to apply ourselves."

Psylocke has posed:
"Thor, you've been a more than gracious host while I've been here and on the ship. Carry on your traditions. It will help your people to feel more at home here. It's likely best that it remain Asgardians and not the rest of us."
She glances over to Tony. "I'd seen the news about them, of course. Didn't know how I could help though. Mushrooms were a bit beyond the skills I possess," Betsy says with another shrug as she comes to a stop, taking a point in their small triangle of conversation. "You say they can be controlled by telepaths? I know a couple that could be called on who are even stronger than me. Are you wanting me to peek into the brains of the telepaths who had done this or see if I can control a mushroom?" She shakes her head. "I can't believe I said that outloud."

Iron Man has posed:
"This is your new home for your people, connecting to the land. I get that. We can entertain ourselves elsewhere. I'm good at entertaining myself," Tony suggests, and aims the next part clearly to Betsy: "And others. If you want, there's some battle meetings going on with the Justice League." Nope, not a date. But his tone teases a little bit, although she may sense that it's harmless. He isn't directly flirting with her, for whatever reason, despite his clear reputation for doing so.

"Thor, you're welcome after you're free, of course." Tony clears his throat. "I have a really clear target to aim you and your warriors towards, Thor. There's a rousing of all hands to come help clear their big mass in Europe. Should be Saturday. Might be enough to turn this tide for good; it's the biggest known concentration of them." Tony sighs, pushing his sunglasses up his nose a touch. "And Ms. Braddock? If what we know about telepaths and these things IS accurate, well. Honestly I want to try both, but--- first I'd rather check out what these so-called telepaths have told us: the mushroom control, exactly -- before snooping into other telepath brains."

Thor has posed:
"Very well," Thor gives a firm nod, "We shall reconvene on the morrow to bring our plans forth and take these mushrooms to their knees..." Then there's a pause as his brow furrows, expression distancing for a moment then looking back, "Or whatever knee-like equivalent these creatures have." He grimaces and wipes his hands on his breeches before turning back, "But the celebration is not for several hours yet. It is not too much to ask to share a final drink with you both before you depart."
That said the cavalcade of construction Asgardians ends and he continues up the slope towards the temporary housing. Over his shoulder he adds, "Harald discovered several hives in the forest yonder," He gestures with a nod. "Of course he immediately set to brewing." For what else is there to be done with honey?

Psylocke has posed:
"If you are suggesting a honey mead, that is too much temptation to pass up. If I was even considering passing it the drink, which I wasn't," Betsy says as she starts to follow him toward the makeshift housing where presumably alcohol awaits.
She nods to Tony as they walk. "I'd be glad to see if the mushrooms are able to be controlled. And snoop into brains. If they were controlling the mushrooms for their own selfish reasons, I feel no qualms at such an invasion."

Iron Man has posed:
"I, for one, would hardly refuse a drink or two, OR your hospitality, Thor," Tony says, lifting his palms up as if somehow Thor were twisting his arm about the drinking thing. He actually had some on the plane, so he's had a head start on it. "Do you want the aid of some of my building crews, or is this something you want to do yourselves also?" Tony asks, with a toss of head towards the various construction.

The agreement to help from Betsy is a clear relief to Tony. "If we believe what they've told us -- that all mushrooms are easy to control -- having that would be extremely helpful on saturday. If not, well. We're learning on the fly, like always." Tony flashes a confident smile at her. Things will work out, the Avenger's smile says.

Thor has posed:
The small makeshift building that has been delineated as the publick house seems to be partially created out of a stone framework with a shipping container and some fabric draped across it. But it's marked primarily by a single broken antler that hangs above it, perhaps lending to its name. For now Thor does not give voice to that name, instead he smiles. "Then come, you can be the first Midgardians to taste the new batch."
And with that he pushes open the flap of cloth that serves as a door and then slips inside with them in tow.
