Synopsis: Lex Luthor and Drake discuss contracts and obligations for E-sports consideration.
Cast of Characters: Lex Luthor, Slipstream

Lex Luthor has posed:
Sometimes, a potential contract needs to be handled personally. LexCorp has competent human resources heads... but every so often a potential deal comes across Luthors desk that he decides to hike the meeting up directly to himself. The high turnover, high energy arena of E-sports is volatile at the best of times... which means that getting an idea of the people you're interested in getting involved with the arena is a good idea.

Which brings us to the New York Static; or, if this sponsorship deal goes through, the Metropolis Static.

Drake has been invited to LexCorp tower via personal request of Lex Luthor via telephone, to discuss 'possibilities'. The security checkpoint on the first floor would check Drake for weapons. When thats dealt with, the elevator up to his office opens up to a set of double doors... with a dozen Team Luthor security guards decked out in the latest and greatest LexCorp armor and weapons standing to each side of the hallway in. Once at the door, they automatically open for the Team Captain... into what can only be described as practically luxurious indulgence that either rivals or exceeds Tony Stark himself.

Lex Luthor himself is in his impeccable business suit, behind his massive desk. To each side of the desk are the (in?)famous bodyguards Mercy and Hope. Luthor has the air of confidence and charisma one would expect from him as he observes Drake.

Slipstream has posed:
As Drake heads in, he keeps his eyes on a swivel as he glances about, taking in every detail and sight that the trek up to the office has to offer. He is wearing a bomber jacket with the Avenger's logo on it, as well as his team jersey beneath it in bright blue and silver colors. His name: Dynamite, is on his chest with his jersey number 25. As he heads towards the desk, his eyes move towards the two body guards for a moment curiously. "Hello there Mister Luthor. You wanted to see me?" He asks curiously as he slips his hands into his pockets. On his backpack that hangs off of one shoulder is a sleeping circular robot named Snowball, which is the spitting image of the small robot from Overwatch that Mei carries with her as a companion. On his left wrist is a large metal bracelet with an LED face displaying a number of vitals.

Lex Luthor has posed:
"I did at that, young man." Lex offers warmly as he extends a hand to gesture to the seat specifically sized for Drake. Standing up, his hands go behind his back as he walks over to Drake... before offering his hand in a handshake, "One of my HR heads was giving me a report on potential deals at a meeting a few days ago, and E-sports came up as a possibility. I thought I'd check in with each team we're interested in and get a read for which one should get our attention more."

He smiles warmly, "Would you care for some refreshments? I can't imagine the travel here had very good food." Lex glances to one side, to a guest table near the massive glass pane window looking out into Metropolis proper; it would be easy to infer from the view of a King overlooking his domain. Lex Luthor does own most of Metropolis outright, after all, "I've had a decent selection brought up for your browsing pleasure."

Slipstream has posed:
"Oh. Uh... just a water I guess. The flight wasn't bad." Drake says as he reaches out to give a firm shake with his right hand, then lets it go. "If you buy our team, it would make the second in Metropolis. The Justice is there as well, been our rivals for a very long time. They've finished second in the last two tournaments."

Lex Luthor has posed:
"In the competitive arena, there's no such thing as second. There are only winners, and those who get left behind... and LexCorp -when it comes to competition- doesn't get left behind." Lex states simply. The man is one of the richest businessmen in the world though, so such an attitude shouldn't be surprising. Mercy gets a nod, whom grabs Drake a glass of water.

As Lex finishes speaking, he himself moves back behind his desk; his throne, for all intents and purposes, and looks to Drake, those discerning eyes watching, "Interesting robot. Stark technology?" Lex asks, conversationally. Then, "Please, take a seat." Lex offers with a gesture to the Drake sized seat in front of the desk, "I have no interest in micromanaging highly competitive teams on a personal or liaison level. I do have a number of conditions for a potential contract and sponsorship, but I think they're more then fair."

He smiles, "interesting in discussing details?"

Slipstream has posed:
Giving a glance over his shoulder, Drake slips his bag off and places it in front of him. "Yes, this is Snowball. She monitors my health since my body is currently trapped between two timelines, and this bracelet keeps me synchronized into one." He says as he holds up his left wrist. "Mister Stark built her to protect me if my bracelet was to fail. My body sorta rips itself apart on a molecular level. So, she is my backup to the bracelet."

As he gets comfortable in the chair, he leans forward a bit. "Usually management talks contracts .. I just sign them and show up at the keyboard. But.. um.. sure, I'll listen to you. I mean, in the end I don't really get a say I suppose.. " He trails off a bit as he rubs the back of his neck.

Lex Luthor has posed:
A nod is given to the statement, "you always have choices, young man. Don't let anyone tell you different." Lex states with a hint of passion as he leans forward onto his desk, hands folding in front, "management is only a powerful as you let it be. You don't review contracts yourself?" Lex asks of Drake.

Slipstream has posed:
Rubbing the back of his neck, Drake says, "I do.. but mostly my agent handles the details. I don't know.. I show up to practice and the sponsored events, games... " His shoulders lift upwards. "We live in the team house that is owned by management. So I don't pay rent or utility. We're all on a schedule. I just look at the salary part and sign off."

Lex Luthor has posed:
Here's a smile as Drake speaks, "there's a time and a place for delegation. I'll fully admit that... but when it comes to your livelihood, I never leave that to chance. Your agent may not have your best interests at heart." Lex notes, before he makes a gesture... and a holographic representation of Metropolis appears in mini form in on the table between Drake and Lex, "would you say you're happy with the arrangement right now?"

Slipstream has posed:
"I am, yes." Drake says in regards to being happy. "I like what I do. I love the team. The management is really cool. They're like a family to me. I've been with my team now for four years and we're all in synch with each other. The coaching staff is awesome and really supportive. We have the best in analytics." He looks over at the map, then rubs the back of his neck. "But, to be honest, I've been thinking of stepping down into a reserve role. It's pretty common knowledge by now that I have recently joined the Avengers.. ah.. the junior roster at least."

Lex Luthor has posed:
"I'll have to talk to them sometime, then. Do you like it in New York? I haven't been there much myself, but I can't imagine all that metahuman activity being fun to deal with." Lex shrugs, then, "things tend to be stable here in Metropolis."

Slipstream has posed:
Drake shrugs his shoulders upwards. "I'm a meta-human. But honestly I don't really think too much about it. It keeps life a bit exciting. Most of my days are twelve hours on a keyboard and mouse staring at a screen and playing the same video game over and over, then I do my livestreams. But now with the Avengers thing, I'm sorta weening off computer time a bit."

Lex Luthor has posed:
"When I refer to metahuman activity, I'm referring to the destruction. The attacks. The ones who use their abilities to selfish ends." Lex points out, "But since you seem less interested in that, I suppose it matters little." He smiles, "I was considering offering your team a team house in Metropolis, so you could switch here if you were sponsored by LexCorp. I imagine you'd need time to think over that possibility and discuss it with your agent?"

Slipstream has posed:
"I mean ... I don't think it's really up to me if you buy our contracts and the team. If you drop that kinda cash, it's your decision on where I go and what happens to me." Drake says as he lets out a breath. "But I do like living here in New York. I know what kinda money goes into these teams though. The Static is valued at almost a hundred million. Are you going in by yourself or bringing in other investors?"

Lex Luthor has posed:
"I haven't made that call yet." Lex confirms in reply, "you're the cog in the machine that matters to your team, and the one that makes the on the ground calls. I wanted to meet and see you myself before we made any commitments." Lex raises his brows in question, "now that I have, I'll be speaking with my HR people and your agent about how to proceed. Any questions?"

Slipstream has posed:
Drake shakes his head. "I don't have any questions, no. Just kinda curious to see where it goes from here I guess." He trails off. "But the Avengers are located in New York City though. It's why I have been thinking of stepping down. My replacement is really good though and I've been mentoring him for the last year. He can be slid into my slot pretty easily and manage the shot calling just fine. So.. I don't know .. I've been seriously considering focusing more on helping out my community."

Lex Luthor has posed:
"Another reason I wanted to talk with you before making commitments." Lex observes, before he stands, moves around his desk, and offers his hand to Drake, "I'll be in touch, then. Good luck with your next tournament."

Slipstream has posed:
Drake reaches out and takes his hand for a firm shake. "Thanks. We're going to win it." He says with a grin, then turns and heads for the door, reaching out to tap Snowball on the head. "Wake up, sleepy head." With that, he blurs out of sight with a blink, leaving behind only a small blue trail.
