Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Aquaman, Kid, Breath

Aquaman has posed:
It is a quiet evening. Almost eerily so for this time of the year. An unseasonable fog rolls in off the water, the lights of the city straining on through regardless. So far removed from the glittering skyscrapers, one would be forgiven for not expecting any sort of metahuman weirdness out here. Indeed, the weirdness seems entirely mundane in comparison.

A shipping freighter, the 'Bremerhaven' cuts a jagged and strange wake through the dark waters of the Narrows. It's moving fast. Faster than it should be with so little room to maneuver. A harbor unit cruiser, dwarfed alongside the freighter, blares a siren as it speeds alongside the wild freighter.

If one were to take a moment to absorb the situation, it becomes chillingly obvious. The freighter is plowing through the waters at full speed ... right for New Utrecht.

Kid has posed:
Kid didn't mind the fog one bit. It was less work on his end, and for his part, Kid was leaning agaist some rails on a nearby dock looking out over the water. A quiet evening with few people around was a nice one. He lazedly watched the freighter as it sped through the water. A smile on his face...that slow dissappeared as he realized...it was heading right towards a neighborhood. He looks to the stars as if to ask "Seriously? A boat? Of course..." so how does one stop a boat? He had no clue, but it started with getting on the water, and no better way to do that than...steal a boat! Without a moment to waste Kid finds a small motor boat and hijacks it speed towards the oncomming ships.

Breath has posed:
Breath is on what passes for patrol for her, more a set of rounds of check in with various people and places. Then she looks at the ship sailing too quickly.

She frowns. "That's not supposed to be moving like that." and runs, exhaling a gust of hurricane force air at the ground to be caught in her wings, lifting her into the air and jetting her on a pass by the ship, looking it over to see what's up with a loud roar.

Aquaman has posed:
"Clear the area!" cries the Harbor Unit cop through the megaphone built onto his boat, still speeding alongside the out-of-control freighter. On the deck, a man in a high-vis jacket waves his arms frantically towards Kid and his speed boat. His voice somewhat muffled by the fog, "It's gonna crash! Get out of here, crazy, you-" He jerks his head upward at the roaring sound overheard, momentarily distracted.

The decks of the ship seem entirely deserted save for piled up metal crates. Not a soul to be seen. If Breath passes close by the bridge, she might spot a dark silhouette slumped against the controls and deathly still.

Kid has posed:
So how does one get onto a speeding boat? Kid had no clue, but no point in getting Killed! Kid skids the boat to the side, narrowingly missing the speeding ship, before turning the boat around and speeding up to catch up with it. He looks up as he hears a roaring of winds - seems a real hero has arrived. But still he keeps up with the boat - opposite side of the harbor units.

Breath has posed:
Breath slows, then blows a pillar of breath forward to land as close as she can to the bridge before furling her wings and rushing in to try to get up to the controls.

She clicks on her comm, "Breath here, I'm on a boat incident in Brooklyn. Patch me into emergency response, will ya?" She frowns, not exactly sure how many people she should be seeing here. "I'm on board now, looking for a bridge here."

Aquaman has posed:
"Was that a ... ?" one of the cops asks the other, before Kid and his speedboat disappear around the other side. They keep pace, but they begin to peel away as the freighter gets nearer and nearer to the shore. On Kid's side, a hefty chane trails off one side of the ship - enough for a particularly daring soul to grasp onto and climb if the urge struck

Up on the boat, a narrow flight of metal stairs leads up to the bridge. A motionless figure is slumped over the threshold of the doorway, a phone of some description clenched in his hands.

"-merhaven. Out of controls in the Narrows!" Breath is patched through to the Harbor Unit boat, catching them mid-broadcast. They pause a moment as they listen, before they radio back: "We've got units on the shore trying to evacuate it but there's not gonna be enough time and ... wait a minute ... crap! I'm picking something up on the sonar. Coming in real, real fast. Torpedo? Get clear! Get clear!"

Coming in at an angle towards the speeding freighter, a line of foam sprays upward as something moves at incredible speed through the water.

Kid has posed:
Thank the lord for prehensil feet. Kid manvuers the boat while standing - steering with his boat to get closer and closer to the chain. This is among the craziest things he has done. Deep Breath...and LEAP! Kid jumps up and grabs the chain, slamming into the boat a few times, rough up. The speed boat he store...was in way worse condtion as it splinttered and than cap-sized.
A moment of rest and Kid hefts his weight up the chain and up onto the boat. Just in time to see the speeding foam...torpedo? <"Crap crap crap crap"> the speeding figure was more intimidating than the tornado! Without a second thought and a quick look around, Kid himself makes his way to the bridge - only to meet up with Breath.

Breath has posed:
Breath looks for the most obvious throttle control and pulls it all the way back. "Breath here. I'm on the bridge. The pilot is down, I haven't triaged yet. Give me some instructions how to stop this thing, will ya?"

She stops and listens, pausing to check the pilot for breathing and pulse, looking over the controls and taking in various labels and such to figure out the basics. Torpedoes sound ominous, but she's going to focus on her piece of the puzzle.

Aquaman has posed:
"I hear ya," the cop says over the radio, "It's a big old freighter. German. So that's what the instructions'll be in. Just look for a big handle and pull it all the way - that's it, it's slowin'. Okay, now you want to look for three little buttons marked with numbers. Hit them in reverse order, 3 then 2 and 1. You're gonna need an extra set of hands to steer the thing to port - that's your left. Anybody conscious up there who can help you?" His tone is calm and methodical, but there are obvious nerves in his voice. He glances at the spray of foam jetting into the air behind the torpedo-thing.

Up ahead, the shoreline of New Utrecht looms ever larger in the distance.

Kid has posed:
Kid not bothering to hide the fact he was Gorilla is already next to Breath upon hearing another set of hands would be needed. But first a quick...pick me up. Kid place his hairy paw on the unconciouse man and his eyes glow lightly but for few moments, before fading back to normal.
Kid gets on the left, his hands on the steering and looks to Breath giving her a nod, but never speaking. He takes a deep breath and begins to try and steer the ship towards port with her.

Breath has posed:
Breath looks up at the controls for the buttons, and hits them in order. Then she spins to look at the door. "Somebody just walked in." She points at the other set of controls, leaving the line open more for the sake of shore control than anything. "Going to need an extra pair of hands here. We have to make a left turn. What's the procedure here?" She goes looking for whichever part was less obvious, since it's probably going to be harder than just turning two steering wheels in the same place.

Aquaman has posed:
"Mitigate the damage as much as we can. You go left, that's warehouses and industrial buildings ... steering you away from residential. It's still gonna run ashore but - what in the HELL?!"

As Breath hits the last button, and Kid turns the wheel the freighter comes to a sudden stop. Not the stop one would associate with a ship, but a sudden, grinding rollercoaster stop. All through the ship the old metal begins to groan loudly, and the shock of the sudden inertia is enough to send anything not nailed down bouncing around the bridge. On the bridge console, one can see a feed from a camera built into the prow of the ship in blue-grey, soundless, grainy footage.

Half-immersed in the water is the figure of a man. Not particularly large, and clad in some sort of outfit that catches the light. Like fish scales. His face is a mess of strain, and his long hair and beard are dripping wet with seawater. He plants both hands against the front of the ship, the metal warping around them as though he is exerting some impossible level of force. The ship almost begins to shake apart with the strain, the consoles sparking and the windows suddenly erupting in a spider's web of cracks.

"The torpedo thing ... it was a guy!" the cop states the obvious over the radio.

Kid has posed:
Kid rolls his eyes. He was quiet not deaf. But regardless he turns the wheel fast and hard as he tries to get the ship to go left and towards the warehouse. That is untill the sudden jerk-like stop.
Kid tumbles backward, sideways and all around, before finally getting a grip on some bolted down object. He shakedly stands up, barely as the ship was groaning in protest - but he does manage to catch the feed. He let out a low whistle - that was one way to stop a ship

Breath has posed:
Breath is really used to keeping her balance, usually because she's blowing herself off her own feet, so she drops into a crouch and catches herself, leaning on a safe patch of controls.

She pauses a moment. "Awesomesauce. So like, are we stopped now? I want to check on the pilot if we are. We have some fresh damage up here, can someone get me a visual check on the hull?" She gives Kid a thumbs up, since she's talking with the harbor.

Aquaman has posed:
"We're stopped," comes a voice from the doorway, calm and stern. The man from the external monitor stands there, still dripping onto the deck plating as he looks at the freighters impromptu crew, "Good job. Don't think I could've held it if it was going full speed and I don't want to find out what it is like to be squashed between a literal rock and a hard place."
He blinks at the unconscious crewmen for a moment before he nods his head to Breath, "Go ahead and check on them." He then gestures to Kid, "Come help me weigh anchor. The hull looks to be in tact but I don't think we want to get underway just yet." The man, now more clearly visible clad in orange and green scales, moves over to the control panel and hunts around for a button before he hits it. The camera feed he appeared on a moment before goes blank.
"Let's keep this between us, hmm?" His method of speaking suggests he's used to people doing what he says, but there's nothing demanding or imperious about it.

Kid has posed:
Kid grunts at the thumbs up before looking to the stranger and signs - a watch speaking for him now that they were not moving "No promises Fishy" he tells the oddly dress stranger, the tone aggressive at best. Regardless he had no intent of being seen by more people than nessary - and as he walks by the odd man, he seems to change from a gorilla to more of a human to those who can be affected by telepathic effect, one dressed for the sea proper. He'll help with the anchor sure...but than he is out. He going to need some serious mangos after this.

Breath has posed:
Breath nods. "Your Highness." Breath gives a brief bow for sake of necessary formalities, then kneels by the pilot, checking for pulse, breathing, and so on in a practiced way. "Of course. I saw nothing but the official release." They hmm and go looking for the first aid kit. "Breath, Titans. Easy to find so I will know what the report is."

Aquaman has posed:
Once Kid has gone out to get the anchor, Aquaman pauses in the doorway with a quirked eyebrow, "I could count on one hand the amount of people on the surface who know I'm a King. Anyway, it's nice to meet you, Breath. I'm Arthur." That's a bit weird. Any reference to him as King is always as King Orin. He strokes his beard thoughtfully for a second, "There's some police on a boat out there who want to meet you and shake your hand, I'm sure. I think once our gorilla friend and I weigh anchor, I'll make a graceful exit ... I assume you don't have any problem handling the formalities?"

Breath has posed:
Breath shakes her head. "I never saw you, I assume, and I don't know where the other guy went. No problem talking to the police on this one. You have a good evening, sir. You can look me up later if you care to." She gives another short salute, in an actual proper Atlantean form albeit definitely learned from a book. Someone was studying.

Aquaman has posed:
Aquaman fires off a lazy salute and a smile, seeming less regal and more carefree for a moment, "I'm impressed. Are you sure you're not from Atlantis? I don't think I've even got the bow down THAT well yet, much to Vulko's chagrin ... " The last part is almost muttered, as though he is merely thinking outloud. "Anyway, I appreciate the discretion. It's been a pleasure working with you." That said, Aquaman turns and steps out of the door.

Not long after, the anchor is weighed and the harbor cops have come aboard. As Breath tends to the unconscious crew, one of them - the First Mate - wakes up. He looks from the cops to Breath before he speaks in panicked German: "Der mann aus dem Meer! Er hat uns angegriffen!"
