A Meeting of Two Shadows
Date of Scene: 09 August 2018
Location: Unknown
Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Ra's al-Ghul, Shredder

Ra's al-Ghul has posed:
Ra's al-Ghul remains hidden in the shadow of the nearby church. He doesn't elaborately hide himself tonight as he is expecting Shredder. While he does not trust anyone he knows that the man he is dealing with cannot be hidden from easily. The risk is inherent. He presses his back to the wall and watches the passersby, silently pitying their existence.

Shredder has posed:
Shredder knows that a similar situation exists. He does not mask his approach in the least. His trademark armor covers his shoulders and legs, the helm crowning him as the red cape lightly drapes behind him. Two of his elite are with him, and while they are no match for their master, either of them are a match for thirty of their average bretheren. He arrived in a car, and why not, it's the twenty-first century. He doesn't see Ra's immediately, but knowing what he sees in the surroundings, he knows which shadow he would pick, and heads in that direction, raising a hand for the elite to stay behind. It wouldn't be polite for them to join, after all.

Ra's al-Ghul has posed:
Ra's al-Ghul isn't alone, not entirely. He can have reinforcements swarm this location quickly enough but he does not have anyone flanking him as he remains hidden, watching Shredder in silence. He is aware of the other assassin's skills but he has a habit of testing them anyway. He won't make it difficult however, remaining exactly where he is.

Shredder has posed:
The fellow immortal looks directly in Ra's direction. "Master 'al-Ghul," he says simply. "It has been a very long time since we last spoke. I see that the news of my supposed death did not deceive you." He is focused, his senses stretching out to sense their surroundings, as is his custom.

Ra's al-Ghul has posed:
Ra's al-Ghul steps out from the shadows as his hopeful ally addresses him. He now stands beneath a nearby streetlight, "There are few who could outsmart you and there are few who I would speak to as an equal. We are both old and our ambitions contradict the morality of the human masses around us. We have transcended them but I believe for the greater good. I would offer you the chance to aid me as I would accept an offer to aid you. A new world where mankind no longer clings to morals that inhibit them. A pragmatic, superior humanity unbound by weakness. Your clan has already achieved this state of existence. I would offer you a greater role in the world once our vision has been accomplished. That is why I arranged this meeting. We have all but taken the world already, let us join our forces. I would not presume to command you nor would you me but we can be equals. You can have your power and I can have my evolution." He waits for Shredder's response.

Shredder has posed:
Shredder remains silent for the pleasantries and the direct offer. "You speak frankly," he says. "It is true that neither of us has the power to command the other. You know much of what has passed in this world, and know of the ancient paths. What would you have gained by such a thing? Does your League intend to bring themselves from the shadows for more open-handed conflict?"

Ra's al-Ghul has posed:
Ra's al-Ghul smiles a bit, "The League operates in the shadow for now but there will come a day when mankind thinks as we do. There will no longer be a need for the League because all of humanity will belong to it. There will however always be a need for law enforcement and a ruling class to deal with dissidents. There will always be those whose hubris outweighs their compassion and empathy. Your clan could step in to serve in such a capacity while they continue to live in luxury. I myself would serve as a public figure head if need be although I have never craved such a position. My search for a successor has.. been unfruitful. I must consider the possibility that I will need to evolve to fill the role myself."

Shredder has posed:
"Hmm," Shredder responds. "Figurehead. Mankind is prone to find ways to rebel against leadership. Quite realistically, neither of us could by force hold the position of leadership. Particularly not with "kryptonians" he gestures the sky vaguely, "Lanterns." He paces to the side patiently. "With the recent developments that my intelligence has received, I believe that the Hand is soon to be in turmoil as well. Elektra is young, and while quite skilled for her age, she lacks the ruthlessness that comes with a more seasoned leader." His scarred brow arches. "There may be cause for other allies needed in this pursuit. There is a new group, one known as the 'Light' ironically. Are you familiar?"

Ra's al-Ghul has posed:
Ra's al-Ghul nods, "Yes I have heard of the Light. They have noble ideals to be sure but as they are outsiders you can understand my caution. You and I clearly have cultural norms in common. The Light is comprised of a.. new generation of revolutionaries. I would be willing to discuss terms with them, perhaps even join forces with them. But my negotiations will not be as.. forward as they have been with you. I am a cordial man to be sure but I do not always lay all of my cards on the table. I knew there was no point in hiding anything from you."

Shredder has posed:
Shredder considers the statement. "Fair. They are idealists to be certain. Your daughter seems to have taken a liking to the affiliation. I have allied myself with them for the time being, but I will be most certainly not trust them past what I must. The Black Queen is the only other in the group with significant experience among them." He ponders. "I may be willing to allot an arrangement with your League for now. I have significant plans for Gotham, your protege' the Bat may prove obnoxious, but the rest of his 'family' I feel little threat from. The world is smaller than it once was." He looks back down the roads. "I will list to you the things that might be valuable for us to combine forces on, and you can do likewise. We can mutually agree upon what ventures we might gain from together, but I am not interested in merging the Foot with the League."

Ra's al-Ghul has posed:
Ra's al-Ghul nods, "Yes Batman has.. ideals which are contradictory to my own.. and yours. But I know that he will not kill me until he has accepted my teachings. If I kill him then I know that he has failed my expectations. I will not shield him from your clan nor would I wish to. He shall reap what he sows as they say. Every day is a test. I am certain that we will work well together."

Shredder has posed:
"Very well," Shredder responds with a nod. "Then I shall look forward to seeing what we may both benefit. Is there more for us to discuss?"

Ra's al-Ghul has posed:
Ra's al-Ghul replies, "No I do not believe so. At least not at the moment. Once I've met with the Light I am certain that there will be more to discuss. I don't like to make plans with any unknown variables involved."

Shredder has posed:
"Very well, I will relay the information for you. They will not intrude upon your plans," Shredder notes, "But the resources can likewise be valuable," he says. "I will send you the information they gave me, and you can choose whether you would like to pursue it further." He starts to turn. "As for us, I look forward to seeing what resources we might be able to acquire together. Fare well, Master 'Al-Ghul."

Ra's al-Ghul has posed:
Ra's al-Ghul bows respectfully torwards Shredder as if they had finished sparring, "We will meet again."
