Synopsis: Green Arrow, Black Canary, Yin, and Carrie, who still needs a costume and a name, meet up at Yin's kwoon to check in.
Cast of Characters: Yin, Carrie Kelley, Green Arrow, Black Canary

Yin has posed:
Yin is in her personal workout space, having sent out a message awhile back. To kill the time, she walks the pattern on the floor, back-weighted, shifting through Baguazhang palm changes with the various turns, meditating. She keeps an eye on Carrie's practice as she does, ready to step in if called for. There's a hidden entrance in the back that can be found.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley is practicing though she long ago forgot what. Her body is moving practically on automatic while her eyes are drifting shut, and blinking open again repeatedly as if she were trying very hard to keep from nodding off to sleep. Somehow she's still moving. Eventually a yawn sneaks through however, and she pauses to snag up a water bottle taking a long pull off of it as she shifts from the routine she was doing to take a momentary rest.

Green Arrow has posed:
Into this Mentor/student session comes one Green Arrow. With things in Starling settling down into a more controllable chaos over the pure battlefield that was the fungus war, Green Arrow has taken to being much more active in the city these days. A number of gang wars have could have turned into bloodbaths have been averted, and a couple arms deals have been broken up since Team Arrow has been on the case.

Tonight, though, Green Arrow is more interested in other forms of evaluations. His mechanical quiver has his staff/bow on it's sling, and the domino masked visage of the man can be seen as he steps through the back entry. His voice mask is on as the white lenses of the mask drift over to Carrie, "busy, I see." Green Arrow quips as he moves to the edge of the practice space.

Yin has posed:
Yin slips a white skipping rock into her hand in a palm change and throws it across the room at Carrie to parry, block, dodge, or get hit with in her stupor. "A bit. I had more than a few things to say about the last incident. Hopefully I have built up a bit of a theoretical base to work from in future. Boost your blood oxygen, we have company. You can REM out after our company leaves.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley lifts an eyebrow at the somewhat familiar voice, and the sight of Green Arrow appearing in the room. The water bottle is already raised to her lips to drink but that stone coming at her... The other arm sweeps up to snag it out of the air without even looking directly over at Yin as she'd seen the movement from the corner of her eye. Whatever training routine they had going, she was picking it up admirably fast. Or, perhaps being sleepy as she was, her body was just following the new programming she'd been forcing on it. It was difficult to tell. "Mm. I didn't really like how that last time went to begin with. I would have handled it differently but..." She shrugs some. "To be honest the fact that they were split into two groups threw me off a bit. Had to rethink things for the future."

Green Arrow has posed:
"Are you referring to my jab at the Bat-school of hard knocks, or something else?" Green Arrow inquires casually as he moves to sit down. The quiver and transitioned bow are placed against the chair, and he leans back into it. "I can agree with Batsy that this isn't something you get into lightly. Doing what we do requires a certain standard, or you're just a liability on the street that needs to be taken out of the field." Green Arrow gives a side nod to Yin, "A lot of people call us heroes... but don't think about the cost. The sacrifice."

Yin has posed:
Yin frowns and crosses her arms. "They were in three groups. Adds, Bats, Civilians, Doors, Exits, Firearms before you Go. And you did the Thing. Don't do that, it puts your team in danger. Can you explain that back?"

She shrugs a bit, moving through another palm change, then closes and slips over to the refrigerator, looking back at the Arrow. "Can I get you anything? Oh and by the way, does the name 'Shiva' mean anything to you?"

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley rolls her shoulders back earning a few little pops of her spine in the process. It's audible, but given the groan that follows it's not painful--Just a release of tension. "I started training before I even figured out why I wanted to train. At first I thought it was so I wouldn't face being helpless again. That was just what I told myself... Though likely the start of it," she explains to Green Arrow. When Yin speaks up she grimaces, and gives a nod.

"Don't fire into combat when your teammate may also be in the line of fire and thus unable to aid. Always make sure the civilian is safe first."

With that explained she continues on with what she had begun saying to Green Arrow, offering a small shrug at the switching of her trains of thought. "I grew up in Gotham. It was always a matter of knowing how to hide, or how to run, to stay out of trouble. I grew up being a potential target just like everyone else in my neighborhood. I can't state that I can change the way things are completely. Even Batman has issue with that, still. But," she adds looking at Arrow with a stern expression. "I have the ability to TRY where not everyone can."

Green Arrow has posed:
"I know the name. She's trained quite a few people over the years, both behind the mask and those without them. Why?" Green Arrow asks of Yin as he sits. Then, we Carrie finishes, Green Arrow gives a nod, "The will to make the world better is where it starts. We're not as bad off as Gotham is, but we're up there." Then, a dismissive wave is given to Yin, "I've eaten already."

Yin has posed:
Yin looks at Carrie. "You look really sleepy. You will notice that there's literally a lot of build up in your brain tissue right now. Part of sleep is that you flush the brain and clean it out physically, like lymph. Part is REM where you compile and sort memories and things you have learned. See if you can get a little bit of awareness of that process while you are asleep. Take notes first thing when you wake up. Sleep as late as you need, but I won't go easier on you if you sleep late."

She nods and drifts quietly into a chair. "She stopped by the other day to see if I rated a Michelin star. I gave her tea. She decided not to kill me. I thought you might want to know."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley nods slowly at Yin. And again at Yin. She's still nodding by the time she's given permission to go sleep, and she takes another gulp of her water. Leaning her weight to the side she tips slightly over toward Green Arrow to mock-whisper, "Take me with you. She's going to kill me one day." It's all in good fun though, and it is followed up with a yawn as she rocks her weight back properly. "Okay, okay, I'm going. Feel like I'm going to keel over as it is. Preferably on something soft." A smile is flashed to the pair as she adds, "Good night."

Green Arrow has posed:
"She seems like she has some potential. Since you've been keeping up with it, she isn't failing, at least." Green Arrow notes as he looks back to Yin, "Lady Shiva is in the city? Things are chaotic enough without her brand of 'fun' getting involved." He sighs, "do you know if she's staying?"

Yin has posed:
Yin shakes her head. "I don't think she is, but the school at Mandrake and Glenmore closed suddenly from a mysterious death in his training room after our little tea party. The master there was terminal and eventually he would have died badly, but I have my guesses. That leaves a bit of a power vacuum between his three schools; the one on Vickie street in particular has some ties to gang activity that were festering, so now I am going to be sniffing around there a bit. Three Kings territory. I don't know what their connections are yet." She reaches over and snatches a paper map off of the refrigerator to point the relevant spots out on.

Green Arrow has posed:
He doesn't get up as Yin does, but when the map is grabbed, Green Arrow stands and moves over to where she places it. The quiver and bow are kept at the chair. "Probably thinks she did him a favor, and is going with a 'the strong will prevail' mindset from the power vacuum." Green Arrow shrugs slightly, "she's always struck me as that sort." Green Arrow observes as he looks where she points.

Yin has posed:
Yin nods. "I knew this was coming, I just didn't know it would happen right now. I just wanted to let you know so you could keep an eye out. Besides that, there's some weird reports from Wire territory that I am going to need to check out. Probably some sort of boosters or they picked up a meta. Claws and animal bites."

She tilts her head and looks up, "Any news from your end? I know you've been very busy, and I haven't been able to get all the latest because of it."

Black Canary has posed:
Black Canary slips into the back door and down into the basement. Canary has a different costume now - she now wears a black facemask that matches her leather bustier. Also, Dinah got a haircut, but her costume now includes a wig - with longer hair and a lighter-blonde. She's doing her best to differentiate her two personas appearance-wise so nobody connects the two. She smiles faintly as she doesn't announce herself, just walks over. "Arrow. Yin." She smiles faintly - even her voice is subtly different.

Green Arrow has posed:
When Black Canary walks in, he's quite capable of hearing her entry though Green Arrow almost doesn't recognize her and it shows with the confused frown. Then, he gives a low whistle, "Didn't expect the wig, but I like the face mask." Green Arrow compliments her, before he looks back to Yin, "I'm tracking down someone from a previous deal. It's slow going with the way they're doing business, but I'm pretty sure I can find her soon. She's a sort of middlewoman between some of the gangs in the glades and the smugglers coming in."

Yin has posed:
Yin looks up at Canary's arrival and nods in approval. "That's a good look." She nods at Green Arrow's explanation and looks up at the Glades on the map, thoughtfully. "Is there any tells I should keep an eye out for, hopefully before 'Suddenly they are all armed to the teeth?' It's not in my usual route, but I might have my student start to do a bit of information gathering soon to see if her tactics are improving."

Black Canary has posed:
Black Canary smiles faintly. "It was suggested that I make some changes so 'Dinah Drake, billionaire girlfriend' and 'Black Canary, loud and kick-ass vigilante' look different." And she even SOUNDS different, her voice having a deeper tone to it. "So - wig, mask, and deeper voice. And staying a bit quieter while doing my day job." She smiles. "Oh, did Yin tell you that Lady Shiva paid her a visit?" She sighs softly. "Apparently she gave Yin a stamp of approval. We have to keep such threats in mind though." She paces back and forth a bit. "Sorry I was late - I had to do inventory."

Green Arrow has posed:
"There are a lot of people trying to take advantage of the PD getting wrecked. A lot of grudges and turf wars. We can't handle it all, but we can keep most of them turning into serious bloodbaths." Green Arrows points along Brittania Beach, "I'm sure they have a cave system with enough room for cargo haulers somewhere around here, and are using it to bring supplies into the glades. I've been able to keep them from making any serious deals, but it's only a matter of time." Green Arrow starts to head back to the chair to grab his quiver, "I was just checking in here. I've heard of a major leader coming through Lamb Valley, and I need to be sure he doesn't start anything." With that, he heads out the back exit.

Yin has posed:
Yin considers a bit. "Honestly, if anyone wants to take the girl aside and teach her some things, you are more than welcome to. I know my limits. There are sneakier people, and my background is medical, not forensic or infiltration."

She nods. "I already mentioned. She left a bit of a mess for me to clean up. I would be tempted to learn what she knows about healing, but I'm sure I couldn't pay the tuition." She nods at Arrow, "I have a suspicion there's an underwater entrance on the northern side of that, if there are caves there, but I don't know enough about marine life to be sure. Good luck."

Black Canary has posed:
Black Canary smiles. "My background is ass-kicking. I'd be happy to teach Carrie some of that. Or singing lessons." She ponders. "I don't think I've met your student. Send her my way sometime - you know that old warehouse I use for practice." She smiles, winking.

Yin has posed:
Yin nods. "Will do. I'm good at ass kicking, too, so I don't know how much more of that she needs yet. Voice lessons maybe. Mimicry if you can teach it. I'm sure I can't. She's pretty good at acting." She shrugs and gestures vaguely. "I'll send her over some time, anyways. You can get a better measure then."
