Superspeed Minds

Synopsis:	Professor Zoom breaks into a lab and steals data from STAGG Enterprises. Kid catches him in the act and a deal is made.

Professor Zoom has posed:
Manhatten. Midnight. Even in the city that never sleeps, there's only a skeleton night shift at most businesses. In the case of a STAGG Enterprises lab in upper New York, that security is just changing shifts.

When Kid passes by the area though... he can immediately feel something amiss in the small building. There are... about a dozen sleeping minds inside, and one mind moving ultra-fast; fast enough that the individuals thought processes slip through his grasp like water if he tries.

The power in the building is also visibly out beyond the parking lot.

Kid has posed:
Kid gives pause. He had promises his guard to be 'home' soon, but this was just too interesting not to check out. That and a dozen free meals? Sign him up! granted it was the fast one that caught his interest - it was 'blurry' like a deep thought, but loud as a surface one is the best he can describe it.

On the brightside, made it easier to track. Like a constant ping where you can get a basic direction, but not a set location. Kid sneaks around to the back. Highstacks building like this is not one to take the front entrench.

As he get closer...he reduces his eyesight to silhouette like form to compensate for the lack of light and easily manuvers around the side untill he finds a side-exit to enter the building from.

Professor Zoom has posed:
Getting inside is easy. The outside was made to look like everything is normal, but closer inspection shows the electronic locks are offline, and the usual lighting is off. Common sense would say that there would be a local generator backup for this sort of thing, but it obviously hasn't kicked in.

On the inside, there's two guards in STAGG security uniforms just down a hallway, along with obviously broken cameras at the two corners of said hallway. it looks like tremendous kinetic force just... shattered them. The blues and greys of the hallway are dull in the darkness, with the lack of emergency lighting.

Going forward, there are more knocked out guards around the left corner, three of them piled on top of each other. The seven remaining guards are on the other side of the main chamber just ahead.

In the center of the main chamber is that superspeeding mental presence, behind a walled area with a door... but despite the lack of power in the lab, there's light coming from the room windows.

Kid has posed:
Kid looks down at the guards and gives a low sounding whistle. Someone wasn't having a good day, or just didn't care. He glances about. A strange building he has never been in, looks different than one would expect. His stomech growls and he rubs it.

Welp time to solve two birds withone stone. Kid touches one of the guards and his eyes glow lightly as he drains psychic energy. The fella would be only knocked out for a few hours more than he would have - if he ever wakes back up from whatever did this.

Still though, Kid now knew the buildings layout and possibly what this place is for - at least for a little while. And his apetite sated. But still that speeding mind called to him

Carefully, silently, Kid walks further down the hall, and passed the bodies, seemingly obliviouse to them. Getting closer and closer to the source untill he is just outside the lab with the light. He HATED labs. But curiosity needed to be sated...but he didn't have to be dumb about it. Kid peeks into the windows, trying to find out who or what was inside.

Professor Zoom has posed:
The main chamber itself is an obvious lab of some kind. The function of it? Hard to tell without some digging around. Lots of equipment around him tells him this an active place though... though the power only going to one section of it is... highly suspect. At least, it is until Kid takes a look inside the window.

Inside, a large server farm with a small console interface is powered on... and a blurring figure stands in front of it. Eyes glowing with some sort of red energy focus on it, with an obvious yellow suit behind the distorting visage. Kid can obviously tell the man in the yellow suit is thinking at incredible speeds. Even from this distance, it's like trying to jump on a zig-zagging bullet train. Red lightning of some kind arcs and sparks around his form as he stands there, his hands flying over the console keys in a blur in motion on occasion, before going back to his sides.

The man might be a Speedster, but the server farm isn't. Looks like he's doing something with it, then waiting for it to catch up to his commands.

Kid has posed:
Kid watches for a small while, never having seen a server farm before...or even a speedster for that matter! Not that he recalls anyways. He watches the motion for a few seconds, trying to figure out that speeding mind. But he couldn't...so only one thing left to do - brave the unknown!

Kid opens the door carefully as to not cause noise and his feet hardly utter a thud as he tries to make his way in. Kid could be a rather steathy individual when he wants to, but weather it was stealthy enough matter not as he engages...

By signing. Kid doesn't really vocalize, but the watch he wears translates for him, turning gestures into words others can hear "...So McBlurrison, what are you doing?" yup just like that, near zero sense of being in actual danger.

Professor Zoom has posed:
It happens in an instant from Kids point of view.

When the door opens, there's the sound of something moving against the floor briefly. By the time he's signing, the man in the yellow suit is gone. Red lightning trails behind him as he visibly runs through the entire building in under a second, before he comes back in front of Kid. That arcing red lightning over his form is coming faster now, a few stray 'bolts' of it hitting the floor cause serious thermal damage as he stands there, idling watching Kid.

His head swivels up and down -taking in Kids ape form- before he looks back directly to his eyes.

A distorted voice can be heard as Professor Zoom speaks, "You're a brave one. Ape City?" The man in the yellow suit asks.

Kid has posed:
There was barely anytime to register what just happened before Zoom is in front of him. He jumps back a bit - not from Zoom but from a stray lightening bolt. Another low whistle...but he otherwise still didn't seem afraid, simply curiouse.

"No, monkeys come from there apparently.And I am evidently from Gorilla City" he didn't seem to take any offense though, the 'tone' of the synthetic voice from the watch being quite matter of fact, and din't even seem concerned that he wasn't completly sure.

"eh, bravery would assume I was scared. There ain't much scarey here. Now what you doing here with those...." he looks to the server "...computer towers? Damn that alot of towers in one place, looks like a data dump"

Professor Zoom has posed:
"I'm a very scary person who can kill you instantly." Professor Zoom offers in reply to Kids lack of fear. So far, he doesn't seem interested in making good on that threat... but it's there. "What I'm doing here isn't your business." There's a pause as Kid feels the mans thought processes speed up considerably. Something is going on in there, "do you have access to Gorilla City?" The man asks as he stands there, those red glowing eyes narrowing just as bit as he focuses on the Gorilla.

Kid has posed:
Kid shrugs and signs "So could a bullet in the right spot. Or a random smuck from mutant town. or half the heros and villians out there. what's your point?" clearly being able to do something doesn't warrent it being something to fear. Kid was not impressed.
    Kid though can be quite cheeky at time. In response he signs "Weather I do or do not is none of your business." he looks over Zoom a long moment with a dull expression. He snorts and looks to the computer where Zoom was typing in commands. It was gibberish to him.

Professor Zoom has posed:
When Kid tries to look at the console, the man is immediately blocking his vision in a red streak that lasts a few feet. "I need something, and I'm taking the entire database here to see if they have a lead on it." Zoom replies, "your turn."

Kid has posed:
Kid crosses his arms. Well, he had no reason to beleive Zoom was lieing, and it didn't really matter. This was good enough. He signs "Yes and No. And believe you me, I WISH it was clear cut, else I wouldn't be in my current mess" a pause before he continues signing "I happen to know and can meet up with Grodd, the Leader of Gorilla City. Weather or not he would give you access is another question. But it the closest thing to a direct line there is"

Professor Zoom has posed:
Turning around and walking over to the console, Professor Zoom brings his hands up and superspeeds over the keys again, inputting another set of commands up to the processing limit of the server farm. "The alarms were cut off after I killed the power, so we have time to chat without dealing with police." The blurry hands continue, "how do I contact you or Grodd after this?" Zoom asks.

Kid has posed:
"Let's see - well Gorilla City just became part of the UN - so you could probably ask the gorilla consulant for details. But beyound that no clue. Got no address, no phone number, don't technically exist" he signs. A shrug latter "If nothing else, give me a name, weather real or code, and I could pass it on." he signs "Best I can do"

Professor Zoom has posed:
"I don't deal with middlemen if I can help it." The man states, neutrally. "I know an abandoned warehouse a few miles from here." The hands blur over the keyboard again, "tell Grodd to place a letter or drive in the office there, and I'll check it daily for contact information." Finally, the thumb drive is pulled out of the console, and placed in a pouch in his suit, before he turns around to regard Kid again.

"You can call me Professor Zoom." He says, before his hand reaches out for the console... and reaches /through it/. Sparks fly and the sound of machinery destroying itself can be heard throughout the room. Then, he repeats the process with each server farm station. Red lightning fills the air as Professor Zoom systematically ruins the entire farm with that phasing ability.

Kid has posed:
Kid watches as Zoom begins destroying machinery. He let out a little whistle "More like professor boom" he signs as the sparks fly. "But right, next time I see Grodd, I will pass it on." he doesn't say much in regards to the middleman, some concepts he was still getting a handle on.
    "But since your destroying junk, the police are bound to come at SOME point, and i got 'curfew' I will see you latter Proffessor Boom. Or Not." he shrugs and begins to head out.

Professor Zoom has posed:
After a few seconds more, Zoom has ruined the entire facility, and appears in front of Kid in a trail of red lightning. "When the day shift comes, they'll trigger the alarm and all the protocols that come with that. This server farm has no outside connections. Remote hacking would have been far more subtle. This is meant to look like a break in, corporate sabotage." Within a few seconds, those arcs of red lightning sparking around his body begin to 'power up' again, "I'll be in touch."

Red lightning trails as Professor Zoom superspeeds out of the building, and out into Manhatten.
