Cast of Characters: Quake, Nick Fury
Tinyplot: Changeling
Tinyplot2: Black Sky

Quake has posed:
It was the same old song and dance. Skye arrives (unannounced) at Director Fury's side, and settles in beside him. One would almost thing she's got a standing appointment all things considered, and in some ways, she probably does. In many ways, while May was her acting SO, Fury had held that role more firmly from the start - a thing Skye had only really started to understand.

Casually, she utters what have to be the rote words of their relationship, "We have to talk."

Nick Fury has posed:
Nick Fury is currently standing in the command centre of the flagship of SHIELD, the ODYSSEY. His eye scans the console in front of him, taking in the latest status for missions that would be accessible on the bridge, and not his office. Overseeing SHIELD Operations was always a challenge, that was for sure. Tapping the console, Fury adds a few names to another mission, and updates the launch window for them. Then, he taps the "Approved" button, and nods silently.

Without even looking, Fury knows it's Agent Johnson. Her movements were unique, and her "sounds" were unmistakeable. "We do Agent Johnson? I don't believe my assistant has you on my docket for today. Perhaps you could schedule it with her?" Fury taps another button, bringing up the next mission.

Quake has posed:
Skye gives a tiny little shrug. "I suppose. I mean, if you want to put off an opportunity to give me stink eye, that's not my problem. However, there are a lot of things that have gone down since I asked for the safe house. Thanks for that, by the way. Really sucky joint. Tech is so-so. We have to upgrade our surveillance in those places."

"Pretty sure our medical files have hit your desk?" Our covering Clint, May, and Skye - though Clint's isn't related to anything May or Skye have done in the recent while. May's should have come with shades of Bahrain, and a flag. Skye's? Well, hers is just run of the mill I've seen a nightmare and it's my dad, so how do I process that?

Those might be the most innocuous things Skye has come to talk about today.

Nick Fury has posed:
Looking sideways at Skye, which was a challenge considering where she was standing, Fury says, "I never give anyone stink eye." Fury says that with a straight face. "I also give you what you need, not what you want. It's a talent." Fury says, finishing the commands on the console. Discipline was maintained on the bridge though, as no one was looking at them. EVeryone appeared to be doing their jobs, and the sounds did hide their conversation well enough.

"Yes, I got the medical files. I perused them. "I have also updated May's file, position wise. Unless you haven't heard, she is acting as the Deputy Director until Agent Hill gets back from her..."vacation" with Agent Coulson." A little bit of news, probably already heard through the grape vine, and sent out by memo earlier this week. "What's next on your agenda?"

Quake has posed:
Skye blinks at the news, but nods. It was a sensible move. May would do a good job in the position. "She'll like that. Get to boss me around again." Another of those knowing nods.

"I take it you got some sort of rundown on the mission we did?" He at least knew Lumley was safe. He should probably know (if he'd been following at all - despite it being a non-SHIELD mission) that the thing had been a clusterfuck from the word go. If it could go wrong, it had. There had been a casualty. At least one, though Skye could only confirm they were responsible for one.

Then she casually adds, "I've been to see Lumley."

Of course she had. His place was under surveillance. Fury would also know she'd jammed transmission for parts of the conversation she'd had with him. And he likely hadn't missed her reinstating him as an agent in training. Her reasoning was sound, by her accounting, but she expected Fury would have things to say about it all, regardless. And, possibly want to hear what she'd learned.

Nick Fury has posed:
"I expect she will." Fury nods, absently, as though distracted by something in his all seeing, all knowing vision. Or at least that is what everyone around him thinks. "I did get a rundown, yes. It was...interesting." Interesting. Indeed. "Maybe not what I would have done, but when the Universe tosses shi* at you, that tends to happen."

Fury taps the console once more, and a slight humming sound, like an itch at the back of your neck you couldn't scratch, was emitting from it. "And how is Lumley doing, in your expert opinion Agent Johnson? Learn anything interesting?" Fury says with no emotion to his voice, giving her any indication of what he thought.

Quake has posed:
Skye crinkles her nose, though she doesn't look Fury's way. "It wasn't supposed to go down like that. Not sure how they got their hands on ICER's but they did. Though by the end nobody was being polite or trying to cover up who they were. But them having the things meant we could use them."

She's still not sure how she feels about the fatality. It rankles. Makes her feel she's failed somehow, even if they all knew that sometimes it couldn't be avoided.

"Lumley sayd the food sucks." A pause. "He's in for the long haul. My dad showed up. He was one of the folks trying to get Lumley. We didn't know until it happened. Something of a rage monster. Lumley says he was like that back at the village when they found me. I'm guessing the fact that he was traced, Lumley thinks at this point, given me, it's time to end this."

"Said my mother was a healer. That Hydra was deeply involved. Something about some odd chemical purchases. And I don't know if you know it, but when Clint and I visited the village, I got given some items that belonged to my mother. I'm not sure what to make of them."

Now she does look over. "I'm an O84. Did you know that?"

Nick Fury has posed:
Remaining neutral and impassive, Fury simply nods, and listens as Skye regales him in her unique way. "I'd like to know how they got their hands on ICERs as well. I have already initiated an investigation." That sounded...strained. "People die. It happens. It's how we deal with it that matters." Fury read her thoughts.

Fury then listens to the rest of the report on Lumley, her Dad, which makes Fury's frown deepen, and then the rest. "I think Lumley may be right. It is time to end this." The rest cause Fury to look at her with his one good eye.

"An 084. Now Agent Johnson. You know I know everything." A slight smile, perhaps a ghost of one, appears on Fury's face. "The rest is all good information, but stay the course Agent. Don't let family and emotion cloud your judgement."

Quake has posed:
Skye nods. "Bet you didn't know this. The leader of the Hand sent us a present." Well, she sent Darcy a present. "I can't get at the info on the data stick, though, because it's keyed to Genus, and he's gone awol. We might really want to send out a team to quietly look for him."

She frowns. "He's not answered over the usual channels. I'm worried Karl might have gotten to him. Karl has been.. contacting me and taunting me for some time now. Regardless, I'm pretty sure the info is something we want."

She more than pretty sure. She's absolutely sure, given she knows exactly who sent it, though she'd need a little chat with one Matthew Murdock to confirm her suspicions. But given the data stick came in a Victorian mourning locket with the woman's own hair used in it? Yeah, Skye was sure there was trouble brewing in Hand territory and SHIELD wanted to know about it.

Nick Fury has posed:
"Perhaps not." Maybe he did know, maybe he didn't. Fury'd never reveal that there was something he didn't know. "Talk to A/Director May, and have her approve a seacrh team for Genus then. It will give her something to do." Fury shakes his head. "Karl. Another lose end we'll have to tie up." Fury adds, "Pick who you need for your next Op, and get it done Agent Johnson. Thanks for the update!" With that, Fury goes back to work.

Quake has posed:
Skye gives a jaunty mock salute. "You got it boss. I'll keep you updated." Because of course he knows the missions are going to start being personal for her.

And without further ado, Skye heads off to get things underway.
