Cast of Characters: Zeitgeist (Julius), Mystique, Kaydin LeGraize, Ekaterina Vespucci, Shadowlite
Tinyplot: Bad Medicine

Zeitgeist (Julius) has posed:
It's twilight in Mutant Town, when the crime levels go through the roof, though here it also has many of the mutants leave their homes because they wouldn't normally venture out when there is noone around to see them.

The sounds, smells, and the warmth of the late summer is relaxing even here. A hot dog vendor sells hotdogs to anyone who could afford it. A pizza place stays open just a little longer then normal. A guy does 'magic' tricks on a corner. All is well for the moment.

Mystique has posed:
No one pays much attention to the homeless woman squatting at the opening of the alleyway. That, of course, is how she'd prefer it. She has a rusted shopping cart that likely seems to contain all of her worldly possessions. She wears a kerchief over her head and looks smudged and dirty, her age indeterminate but likely on the mature side, from the wrinkles at the corners of her eyes. She smokes a hand-rolled cigarette, but doesn't seem to be panhandling, just watching the world.

No one knows who she is. Which is precisely how she likes it.

Kaydin LeGraize has posed:
Kaydin was at the hot dog vendor ordering a couple dozen hotdogs. The vendor makes money on speedsters and kaydin is indeed one of his repeat customers. He scarfs down a hotdog almost so quickly one is not sure he chewed. He passes by the homeless woman and offers her a hotdog as he looks around, armful of hotdogs.

Ekaterina Vespucci has posed:
Ekaterina is meeting someone for some business in Mutant town. Despite being an External and a mutant herself she had rarely been in this part of town. She has as usual no visable security detail - but she has hired somebody to shadow her tonight. The small girl wanders into the area her larghe cornflower blue eyes sweeping back and forwards. A fish out of water perhaps and not in a very safe place. She walks by the alleyway with the 'homeless woman' considers dropping some notes till she notices the woman isn't panhandling - shoots the latter the sweetest smile before moving on further into the town.

Zeitgeist (Julius) has posed:
Out of one of the many alleyways in the area, a person stumbles a bit and seems to almost zombie walk towards the Hot Dog vendor, "Hot Dogs..." he drones as he makes his way to scent of his chosen food source. For the keen observer, his eyes pinholes and he's high as a kite.

Shadowlite has posed:
On the other hand, Shadowlite has plenty of underworld contacts, especially in mutant town. He's had plenty of time to get used to the area, and knows the rooftops well. He's even defended the place for allies once upon a time, becoming a soldier defending a battlefield.

Tonight, that knowledge is being used to keep Ekaterina protected, and himself out of sight. Using a FN-SCAR rifle with a scope and a grapnel gun, Shadowlite has been keeping low key while he kept overwatch for his current employer. The black outfit he wears does a good job blending into the night as he goes, "what I wouldn't give for a personal cloaking device..." Shadowlite mutters to himself as he jumps rooftops again.

Zeitgeist (Julius) has posed:
The street magician barely gets anyone to stop and watch, someone showing off 'magic' in mutant town is like a constume at comic con, it's not very original. He switches tactics a bit as he pulls out a harmonica and starts to play a jazzy number on it. Anything for money you know.

Zeitgeist (Julius) has posed:
A group of kids are eating outside by the pizza place, most of their skin tones are not the usual variety. One of them chuckles a bit as they see the zoner make his way in the hot dog line, "Well, one guy is having too much fun."

Mystique has posed:
The bag lady takes the hot dog from Kaydin and gives a friendly nod to Ekaterina. She takes a bite and then smiles a gummy, toothless grin at the young man, "Gracias, senor," she says, patting him on the hand in a maternal fashion.

If she detects Shadowlite moving on the rooftop, she doesn't give any sign of it. But then, how would a homeless old lady ever notice such a thing?

Kaydin LeGraize has posed:
Kaydin looks to the man playing jazz on the harmonica. He moves over and gives him a five dollar bill and he looks to Ekatarina and moves to her, appearing as a blur before holding still long enough to be seen. "Hey how are you doing?" He asks as he eats another hotdog, watching the woman.

Ekaterina Vespucci has posed:
"The aspiring artist," Kat notes smiling warmly. As usual Kat when she looks at people really seems to see them. Focusing for the moment on Kaydin. "I am well enough - boy this is a sketchy part of town. Giving out free hotdogs I see? I have my favorite stand back in Queens near where I live."

Shadowlite has posed:
When Ekaterina stops and starts to talk to Kaydin, Shadowlite stops near the edge of the rooftop he's on and pulls a directional mic. Aiming it down towards the conversation, the mercenary listens in, making sure audio cues for potential threats are monitored as he places his rifle on the roof next to him.

Zeitgeist (Julius) has posed:
As the druggy gets his spot in line, he searches his pockets and pulls out a few dollar bills.. "Whatever this gets me man.." He goes about layer each hotdog he's given with everything on the cart, they look more like mountains of onions, ketchup, and relish then hotdogs when he's done. He smears one on his mouth and goes about running back into that alleyway he came out of before.

The pizza club kids are watching and laughing at the sight. "damn, he's hungry."

The magician turned jazz player smiles and nods to Kaydin, "Thanks." as he continues playing.

The sun continues to set and is nearly gone.

Kaydin LeGraize has posed:
"My Grandfather inspired me to do good, to help others even those down on their luck. You never know when they may someday pay you back. He died a year ago, and to this day I still hear him. He is what inspired me to become an artist, he taught me how to draw, to make new worlds with my canvas." Kaydin says He then looks around. "I often come to this part of town, most of my friends are mutants. not bad folk when given a chance." He says calmly.

Mystique has posed:
The old woman wolfs down the hot dog. If she's going to seek shelter with the fall of night, she doesn't seem in a rush to do it. She alternates between bites on the frankfurter and puffs on her cigarette, watching Kat and Kaydin's conversation witn an innocuous grin on her wrinkled face. Just another part of the scenery.

Ekaterina Vespucci has posed:
"Charity was a big part of my upbringing too," Kat replies to Kaydin scanning the rooftops with her enhanced senses looking for her protector. Best to make sure her safeguards were in place - no telling what could happen. She'd heard her mercenary was reliable. She hoped she'd heard right. She glimpses down at the homeless woman again. Very little was as it semed out here - even the most downtrodden could have abilities that would take you by surprise. There were too many variables for Lady Artifice's constantly calculating mind. Where was her contact?

Shadowlite has posed:
Shadowlite isn't that hard to find. There's a directional mic and a very discreet head just barely visible on the rooftop on the opposite side of the street, black lensed AR goggles just visible over his eyes, and the black suit material over where his hair would be. If you're not looking for him specifically, it'd be hard to see him, actually.

Zeitgeist (Julius) has posed:
It's a brief moment after the druggy vanishes into the alleyway when the air fills with the sort that essentially makes the rest of the world go quiet. A wall explodes into the main artery here, sending the Hot Dog vendor's cart flying, the musician to go sprawling and the table of kids overturn.

Within the now missing wall, as the dust settles are two unconcious (one being the hot dog kid from earlier) and two conscious. One of them is glowing, his mouth open in nearly inhumanely large manner. The other concious one is running in circles at hyper speed only a blur to those without the senses to see them.

Just a normal night in Mutant Town gone.

Mystique has posed:
The explosion takes even Raven off-guard, as she ducks and covers behind her shopping cart quickly and reflexively. She's not going to blow her cover just yet, not until she gets a sense of what's going down but she does slip a hand down into the cart to very casually withdraw the MAC-10 she has stashed away under some old cans of beans. She keeps the weapon hidden in the folds of her bulky clothes, however, waiting to see how things play out.

Kaydin LeGraize has posed:
Kaydin moves to shield ekaterina from the blast and he looks to the people present. Seeing the unconscious person, he blurs out and tries to pull them away from the blast. "You alright?" He asks as he checks the guy over, to make sure he was alright. He then goes to the one moving superspeeds, trying to match their speed.

Ekaterina Vespucci has posed:
Kat reflexively cowers behind Kaydin and then moves further back behind the shopping cart next to the old homeless lady as Katdin shoots across the street. It's tempting to teleport out of there but she suppresses the urge. Best to maintain her carefully crafted cover even amongst her own kind. Her large blue eyes widen to almost anime size as she scans the environment for danger.

Shadowlite has posed:
"It happened just as the asshole with the hot dog went back into the alleyway. I could go after him, if you want me to see what he's doing." Shadowlite asks over the transceiver on his hood. The voice is distorted electronically, making identification impossible... but Ekaterina can hear him on her end.

His free hand is on his rifle already as he pulls the directional mic back, taking up electronic binoculars instead as he takes a look over the area, especially that wall.

Zeitgeist (Julius) has posed:
The car alarms in the area go off in every direction after the ringing stops in people's ears. Kaydin rescues one of the unconcious people from inside the building that just exploded. The speedster inside speaks at super-speed which sounds liek a chipmunk to some but to Kaydin perhaps it's more preceptable, "I can't stop... can't stop.." The floors are beginning to melt under the friction from the circling speedster.

The 'screaming man' aims his face up towards the ceiling, he looks extremely paniced, and with the change in aim, the ceiling explodes outwards as well, as the sonic blast tears it apart.

The hotdog vendor whimpers as he's stuck in the twisted wreckage of his cart. The harmonica player gets up groggily. The group of friends by the pizza parlor are all currently checking to see if they are in one piece.

Mystique has posed:
The old woman sighs and mutters something in German, which would seem counter to the Spanish she spoke a few moments ago. She turns her attention to Kat and speaks in a low tone, without accent at all now, her expression flat and emotionless.

"If you have any ability to help them, you should. Because if they don't get control of themselves soon, I'm going to put them down. Hard," she says, showing her weapon in a neutral fashion.

"Help me not kill any of my fellow mutants today."

Kaydin LeGraize has posed:
Kaydin understands the speedster and tries his best to match his speeds. Unlike the man, the floor doesnt melt from his friction and once he matches the speed, he moves to pick the speedster off the ground. "Dont panic, Panicking makes it worse, try to focus on something calm and steady, like a river or traffic." He says as he tries to keep the speedster above the ground and slow him down.

Ekaterina Vespucci has posed:
Kat speaks to Shadowstride, "Yeah find the guy follow him - see if you can catch him. Don't kill him if you don't have to." Kat looks at the old woman switching between two languages she is familiar with having spent a millenia in Europe before moving to the US. "Not sure what I can do," she says bright blue eyes regarding the woman quizzically. "Ah well may as well give this a shot..." And then in an instant Kat is gone appearing right next to the screaming man - she's hoping Kaydin will calm the speedster. So she can teleport - that much is apparent. "Alright we've got to get you somewhere clear of people buddy," she says to the screaming man.

Shadowlite has posed:
Taking up his rifle, Shadowlite jumps up in place. A black disc materializes out of thin air just below him, and he leans forward, the disc 'flying' it's way past the building. Upon seeing Kaydin and the speedster, he reaches out his free hand, and a black mist emits from his hand as black lightning arcs in the middle of the room the two are in. A black portal forms within seconds, "toss him in there." Shadowlite offers in explanation.

With one hand on an assault rifle and the black mist from his hand as he stands on a black disc of Darkforce, Shadowlite no doubt is an... interesting image to suddenly show up.

Zeitgeist (Julius) has posed:
The speedster that Kaydin is trying to calm, tries his best to breathe.. he looks like he has the similar appearance as the kid at the hotdog vendor before... eyes pinholes and his breathing and heartbeat rapid. Kaydin's able to lift him, and his feet sort of cycle in mid-air. He does seem to be slowing down though even as he's kept 'in neutral' by Kaydin.

Mystique has posed:
Mystique goes to attend the other unconscious man. Her fingers move with swift and practiced ease, checking his vital signs, assessing his scalp to see if his skull has been damaged. If she's satisfied he's not in mortal danger, she'll pull him deeper into the alley and out of harm's way, showing surprising strength for a little old lady.

Kaydin LeGraize has posed:
"Thats right, like that." Kaydin says as he pulls the speedster up, to try and lift him. Kaydin was fast, not strong and soon this begins to tax his limits. He looks to the nearby portal and he begins to let go, letting the man go into the portal. He looks to Shadowlite as he is the cause of the portal and looks around for the screaming man. "He is using sound to destroy things, we need to get him outside. Somehow we got to silence him." Kaydin says to Shadowlite, sounding a little rushed.

Zeitgeist (Julius) has posed:
Similar to the speedster, the screaming man is slowly getting 'quieter' if you can describe a sonic wave like that. He's aimed at the sky for the moment, the roof long since vaporized.

Ekaterina Vespucci has posed:
"Alright lets get you somewhere above everything give me a hug you big dope. This may be a little disorienting," Kat wraps her arms arund the screaming guy and teleports both her and him over onto the highest nearby rooftop. She figures he will have les chance of knocking over any further structures there. And tries to keep him screaming at the sky with her hands as they emerge on the higher ground. "Here's to hoping this makes things safewr for everyone," Kat says her eyes about cartonishly large in exasperation.

Zeitgeist (Julius) has posed:
The screaming man eventually runs out of steam and collaspes to the ground.. the area becomes quiet again like it was prior to the big explosion. Somewhere in the Dark, the speedster also stops moving as he finally stops.

The hotdog vendor is still trapped under his hotdog cart, the teens at the pizza parlor head over to said cart to try and help the fellow. The musician just sort of stares in shock at the going ons.

In the distance, the sound of a siren is heard, perhaps coming here or perhaps not. The unconcious ones show the signs of being high but are fine in the injury sense of the word.

Mystique has posed:
The old woman relaxes slowly. Seeing that it looks as though things are under control, she withdraws deeper into the alley herself, tucking her gun away in her clothes. She probably presents a strange sight, if anyone were to see her suddenly scaling a fire escape, clambering up and into the window of a squatter's apartment five floors up.

A few minutes later, as the sirens go by, a respectable looking young man in a hockey jersey and a backwards cap comes out of the door, a skateboard under his feet. The baggy jersey does a good job of hiding the automatic weapon tucked into his waistband. He lights a hand-rolled cigarette and begins to head down the sidewalk as the cops come to clean up the mess.

Kaydin LeGraize has posed:
Kaydin watches as the girl teleports and he looks to Shadowlite. He begins to go through the process of making sure everyone was okay. He then goes through the process trying to figure out what happpened with the building. He moves to help the hotdog vendor and smiles. "Your safe now."

Ekaterina Vespucci has posed:
Kat pats the now not screaming man on the shoulder and asks him, "What just happened?" she asks the man - concern in her deep blue eyes. "Did you take anything before you went haywire? Did you see anything?"

Shadowlite has posed:
One moment, there's a hole in the wall. The next, the wall is repaired. Luckily, Shadowlite was already outside when it happened. "Huh." the black clad mutant stares at it a few seconds, before he flies his way over to the hot dog stand, the vendor getting a glance before he places his rifle on his back; the sling wrapping around his trenchcoat easily.

A moment later, and black mist emits from both hands as Shadowlite reaches towards the vendor... and two elastic black tentacles materialize from them and wrap around the stand. Once secure, Shadowlite 'flies' back and up, trying to right the cart with necessary force only. No need to send it flying, after all.

Zeitgeist (Julius) has posed:
The man's eyes are pinholes and he's zoned a bit, he talks with an extremely high pitched voice which is kinda humorous considering the sonics that he just did, "I.. just had my normal stuff, I think. Definitely never felt that before... it was a mad rush and then.. well, I couldn't control my powers any more... and it was bad." He looks across the way, "Did I do all that.. Ooh God.. I did didn't I?"

The hotdog vendor is injured a bit.. being crushed by his cart messed up his leg, "Damn that hurt. What the hell happened?" He looks around spending most of his time under the cart didn't allow him a good view of things. The shadowy misty fellow gets a blinking reaction, "Well, thanks.. sir?"

The pizza parlor kids are there by the hot dog guy as well, "That wall over there exploded... I think someone had a explosion ability." one of the others chimes in, "Sonics I think.." and the original, "Whateever.."

And somewhere a speedster is nearly unconscious in a very dark place.

Ekaterina Vespucci has posed:
"You sure did buddy. Your usual stuff? What is that might I ask?" Kat says look at the scene in disbelief. "I don't think it is your fault though it might be time to consider getting clean," Kat suggests. "I don't think there are any casualties if you are worried aout that but there is very little building left. Are you usually that potent? Could you have done that normally?" Kat has to ask.

Shadowlite has posed:
The tentacles disappear as the cart is set upright, and Shadowlite floats up to roof level to get a good look around. His transceiver is switched on briefly, "Ma'am, looks like the incident is dealt with for now. Are you in the area?" Shadowlite asks of Ekaterina as he reaches out a hand. Black mist emits from it as that same portal opens at street level. Black lightning arcs around as reality is torn open just above the sidewalk. The swirling portal is aimed down, and neatly deposits the speedster back into reality.

"Losing control is never fun." Shadowlite muses to himself as he floats away, back to the rooftops.

Zeitgeist (Julius) has posed:
The speedster is confused but concious, "Where was.. what happened?" He doesn't skip a beat and zips away in a blur, not much for conversation after that it seems.

The screaming man sighs, "Ooh, some Meth but definite this time.. I think he said it was called 'Boost', I thought it was just better Meth.. it was.. but never did that before." He buries his head in his hands, "Ooh God, I should get off the stuff but... it's hard.. real hard."

The Hotdog Vendor hobbles up to a bench, waiting for the ambulance perhaps.

The four kids that were eating pizza just watch the ongoings, one comments, "Yeah this is bad.. their gonna think Mutie and think he did it by accident and stuff." "well, he did" says another, "No idiot he was on drugs".

Kaydin LeGraize has posed:
Kaydin sighs as he looks to the others and he goes about researching how to rebuild the building. He takes a breath, begins reading. He then looks around for KAt. "You alright, KAt?" He calls out.

Ekaterina Vespucci has posed:
"I'm good!" Kat yells back to Kaydin from the rooftop with the junkie mutant. "So who is selling this meth?" Kat asks. "Don't worry I'm not 5-0 - I'm another mutant - a criminal in fact if truth be told.

Zeitgeist (Julius) has posed:
Well, my usual dealer.. he said he got this good stuff and wanted to have us give it a shot. Andrew seemed to enjoy it...and so I had it. It was fine until well.. just boom. I went off and couldn't stop.. and I couldn't do that.." he looks at the wall, "Really it would take me a while to do that."

Kaydin LeGraize has posed:
Kaydin researches what is needed to rebuild the wall and ceiling, and finding nearby materials at a construction yard, kaydin gets to work, working at superhuman speeds. With a fresh coat of paint and looking it over, he preens himself a little. "Not bad kaydin." He mutters to himself before running up to the building and to KAt and the guy. "So why did he blow the place up?" He asks curiously.

Ekaterina Vespucci has posed:
"Who.is.your.usual.dealer?" Kat asks now mildly annoyed. She's hardly intimidating but still her exasperation resaonates, "You still need me to get down from this roof unless you can also fly," she explains to the screamer - suddenly her eyes are drawn to Kaydin and what he is doing - they bulge in disbelief. "Alright that's the last time I come to mutanttown I swear," she mutters.

Zeitgeist (Julius) has posed:
The now not 'screaming man' states, "John... he's my normal dealer." a bit scared, as he's still quite high and not quite in control though he's not blowing things up, he pulls out a cellphone, "If... I give you his number.. don't tell him I gave it to you?" he stutters out.

Ekaterina Vespucci has posed:
"Give me your number as well and we have a deal. I want to make sure you are on your way to being clean in a week. What do I call you? And how do I recognise this John? Is he a Homo Superior too?" Kat continues the transaction a bit longer and for better terms.

Zeitgeist (Julius) has posed:
Jason replies, "Jason. I'll try... really I will." He shows his phone to her, the dealer and his number are easily findable though not much more numbers are on it.. it looks like a burner. "I don't know, he never went flashy on me. We.. only do business together."

Kaydin LeGraize has posed:
Kaydin looks to the two of them and he looks around and then down at the ground. "Alright I think I can get both of us down, but it will tire me out." He says as he moves to Kat and the man and wraps an arm around them both. The minute he does a static electricity feeling can be felt around them and the world slow down. If it would rain the drops would hang in the air, moving at a snail's pace. Thats the effect the speedforce has on a person. He then begins to move with them. He runs down the building and with the two people on either arm, they move in sync with him and get down relatively easily.

Ekaterina Vespucci has posed:
"I'm Kat," she says taking both numbers - still looking at what Kaydin is doing. "Alright I'll have to have some words with this 'John' or maybe I'll call someone else and have them do it. Best to get you off the roof now." He may be a hopeless case but some people surprise you. "I could have teleported us down you know," Kat protests. But down they all go.
