Date of Scene: 10 September 2018
Location: Coffee Shop
Synopsis: Ororo Munroe and Chris Redfield go have coffee. It turns into a date. Fun times are had by all and even Jill Valentine makes an appearance!
Cast of Characters: Chris Redfield, Storm, Jill Valentine

Chris Redfield has posed:
Monday. About 11:00pm. Amazing Bean Coffee House.

It was just one of those days.

Chris had just gotten back from a mission in Tibet to locatea nd secure a supposed bioterrorist, which he succeeded without any mishaps (for once). But once he came back to the States and New York City? He decided to give Storm, AKA Ororo Munroe, a call. During the fungus battle, the two seemed to have taken a liking to one another (whether it was romantic or simple friendship remained to be seen).

But, nonetheless, he calls her and invites her out to meet with him at the Amazing Bean Coffee House, where...well, coffee, and pastries are sold. Honestly though, Chris was already there, waiting in front of the shop for Ororo to arrive.

Storm has posed:
There is a lot to do at the school on a Monday. Whether it was paperwork, grading papers, finalizing lesson plans - not to mention organizing training sessions and going over mission reports with the X-Men. It is a busy day, and Ororo Munroe finally made it to the end of it.

She is sitting in her Ford Mustang, having just parked a couple of blocks from the Amazing Bean Coffee House, and she is fiddling with her phone. To say that the call from Chris was unexpected was an understatement, but the invitation was welcomed. In fact, Ororo needed to get out of the mansion for a few hours. So here she is, exiting the vehicle and starting down the sidewalk.

Another glance goes to her phone before Ororo places it into the back pocket of her blue jeans. A form-fitting graphic t-shirt accompanies her casual look, accentuating the flexibility of the white Mohawk on her head. Looking straight ahead, she can see Chris standing outside the shop.

"I hope I didn't have you waiting too long," Ororo offers, opening her arms for a friendly embrace. She does pride herself on timeliness.

Chris Redfield has posed:
Upon seeing Ororo, Chris seems to smile and approach Storm. Upon the widening of her arms for a hug? Chris happily enters her embrace, wrapping his arms around her waist to hold her close for that brief moment, before slowly pulling away once the hug comes to an end. They saved each other on a multitude of occasions and the Fungus episode wasn't exactly the best place to meet someone great.

Either way, he chuckled. "Oh, no not at all. I was only here for maybe five minutes. I like getting here early." he offers Storm his arm and opens the door for her. "Shall we?"

Upon entrance to the lovely little Coffee shop, the baristas all smile at them, and some of the chefs back there making pastries gives a little wave or so before going straight back to work.

Storm has posed:
Goosebumps begin to flare down Ororo's arms when his arm wraps around her waist during their embrace. When it is over, a hand rubs at her right arm in a subtle fashion. It has been a while since someone had pulled her close. She ignored the feeling, though, accepting his offered arm as they walk into the coffee shop. "We shall," Ororo replies, a smile on display.

"I don't think I've ever been here," she says, nodding to the hospitality of the employees. "Is this one of the places you go to when you are not on duty?" Her African accent hides delicately in her words.

Chris Redfield has posed:
Oh no, Chris felt them goosebumps. He felt goosebumps too as she held him during their embrace. Well, however one chooses to take it, Chris still walks in with Storm on his arm into the coffee shop, his eyes on the baristas as he gives a wave and to some of the chefs. He might be a regular perhaps?

Eyes shift to Storm again as she asks her question. "Yeah...I like to come here. It's quiet. Peaceful. Don't have to worry about anything, you know?" But then he looks her in the eyes, and he seems to just...get lost in them. Before he smiles. "Come on, let's get a pastry and some coffee...and maybe you can tell me about your day?" he asked hopefully!

Storm has posed:
Looking around at the décor, the employees, and the pastries, Ororo could tell this space would be good for relaxing after a long day. She is able to easily appreciate places that promoted a calm and inviting environment; it is good for herself and those around her, considering her mutant gifts.

As her blue eyes continue to survey the shop around them, they stop on Chris' brown eyes and linger for a brief moment. As he smiles, she does too, a bit brighter this time before walking up to a display of several different carb-filled treats. "That's very kind of you to want to hear about how boring my day has been. I warn that you may perish from boredom."

"Since you are familiar with everything here, what's good to eat?"

Chris Redfield has posed:
Chris never did quite seem to notice the decor...but he did seem to get flustered when he and Storm had a moment where they just...looked at each other. Admired the beauty of the eyes perhaps? Regardless, he chuckles as he walks up with Storm to the register. "Please, tell me?" His hand almost seems to slide to her own, as if to play with her fingers with his own in a flirtatious manner.

"You know I don't get bored easy. and we have plenty of time." as per her question, he looks and he hums. "The bagels here are amazing. Though their croissants are delicious as well. I usually get those." He looks to the barista. "Can I just have a cappuccino and a croissaint? and whatever this lovely lady would like."

Storm has posed:
His persistence to hear about Ororo's day is interesting to her. She finds it curious that a dominant man such as Chris - a soldier even - would be interesting in such small matters. Even more so, she finds it interesting when his hand gets close to her own. Not knowing how to feel in the moment, Ororo softly pulls away to the display, looking at his suggestions.

"I admit the bagels and the croissants look delicious, but that cinnamon roll is calling my name for some reason," Ororo replies, pointing at the pastry and looking up at the barista. "I will have that and a dark roast, black coffee, please." A look goes to a few other pastries before her gaze returns to Chris next to her.

"So, my day started with lesson plans in the morning. Then, a few classes and tutoring sessions before lunch. And I was lucky to get a workout in before looking through some important paperwork... See, all boring stuff."

Chris Redfield has posed:
Chris takes notice of Ororo's seeming indecisiveness about what to feel in the moment as Chris subtly flirted with her, but watched as she moved over to the display with the cinnamon rolls. "Oof, good choice. They make some mean rolls, let me tell you." He smiles to her then, before after they finish ordering?

Chris walks her to a nearby table where they could just talk. Though his fingers still seem to attempt to play with her own...or try to cover her own. As her storytelling of the day continues? Chris just smiles, and nods. "I hear you." a chuckle then. "But..tell me more. What was the highlight of your day?" He asks her, clearly just interested in//her//.

Though he chuckles. "What class do you teach?"

Storm has posed:
At the second attempt at flirtation, Ororo maintains the power of her will and detaches from Chris' arm when they arrive at the table. She sits across from him, smiling as his inquiries continue.

"The highlight of my day is probably now. That, and still being up and in the city this late on a school night," Ororo offers. More boring tidbits. "I needed to get away from work though, so thank you for the invitation."

The barista comes around the counter and delivers both coffees and pastries. Ororo nods to the man and begins sipping from her cup. Allowing the heat from the coffee to soothe her nerves, she places her coffee on the table before tearing off a piece of the cinnamon roll.

"I teach high school History. This week, we are focusing on mythology - Norse mythology, in fact. Speaking of which, how is Thor and the Asgardians taking everything? Do you know if they are settling in well enough here?"

Chris Redfield has posed:
Chris sees Ororo pull away from him at the table before they both sit down and start to really talk to one another. Her favorite moment is now? That makes Chris blush a little bit. "Heh..well, thank you. Means a lot. If it means anything, being here with you is the highlight of my day too." he chuckles a bit. used to the late nights. Military life does that to you.

Though he smiles as pastries and coffee arrive, eating a bite of his croissant and washing it down with the coffee.

"Oh? that's seriously cool! I enjoy reading mythology, so I guess I'll have to talk with you about it sometime, yeah?" then he's asked about the Asgardians. "THey're doing well. Still building their settlement. Though our reports say a mysterious, but peaceful visitor came from out of the ocean. Haven't ID'ed who it was yet." he shrugs. "But, everything is good." he chuckles lightly.

Storm has posed:
Some form of calm comes over Ororo's concerned mind when Chris reports that the Asgardians were getting things in order. Like Redfield, the God of Thunder also fought valiantly against the plight of the fungus that plagued the world months ago. A leader of his people just like Ororo, she understands very well how much pressure the man is under, and is glad that everything is working out for him and the other Asgardians.

"A mysterious visitor from the ocean?" Ororo asks, as her interest peaks a little at the subject. With the rediscovery of Atlantis, it is no longer unusual for such a statement to be said, but curiosity still kills Ororo as she takes another sip of her coffee. "It's good to hear that things are going well for Thor and his people. He's a good man." Picking up a fork and knife that lays on a napkin on the table, Ororo tears a piece from the cinnamon roll. "How long have you been in the military?"

Chris Redfield has posed:
Chris smiles softly to Storm as she looks calm and almost relieved at the news of the Asgardians. A smile crossing his face. "Yeah. Wasn't Aquaman or Namor though. This was something new." He shrugs. "But, everything appears fine." a smile on his face, before his eyes once again locks onto Ororo's....as if once again getting lost in them. "Oh, I've been in the military most of my life. once I was 18, I packed my bags and enlisted." he smiles. "I guarantee you my story isn't as good as yours."

Storm has posed:
"Oh?" Ororo replies before taking a bite from the piece of the sweet treat. Chewing with a grin and nodding her head just slightly, as if agreeing with him, she swallows and places the eating utensils back on the table. "And what about my story makes it better than your own?" she asks. She wants to see what Chris knows about her, considering the resources at his disposal could give him either a truly accurate depiction of the leader of the X-Men, or an entirely fabricated story that makes her seem more interesting than she is.

Chris Redfield has posed:
Chris couldn't help but just smile at her, setting taking a bite out of his snack before he sets his utensils down, washes down his food with that water, thus leaving him able to speak politely (since food wasn't in his mouth). "Well...not to say I know everything, but.." he smiles. "Something about being worshipped as a Thunder Goddess and made leader in a certain african tribe? That's pretty cool compared to me, who just went and killed bioweapons for a good part of my career." he grins. He took care of hte threats that nobody knew about.

Storm has posed:
Ororo's grin widens and she releases a breath of humored air. "That was a false reality," she says, waving a manicured hand in the air as if she is tossing the imagery away. "If it wasn't for my mentor intervening, I would probably still be trapped in that grand illusion. I would do it all over again if I could, for the people." Her Kenyan tribe is filled with remarkable individuals, and she met several important figures during that time in her life that she will never forget.

"Mistress of the Elements," Ororo corrects jokingly. "I remember those days very fondly. Until I realized I was not a Goddess after all."

Chris Redfield has posed:
"Oh, sorry, Mistress of the Elements." Chris smiles warmly to her, clasping his hands in front of him as she spoke. "Your mentor? Xavier?" He asks her curiously as he angles his body towards her, completely intrigued by the conversation at hand. "I'm not sure there's such a thing as a God or Goddess. Only extremely powerful individuals that could have been worshipped once upon a time." Chris shrugs.

But then again, he's only human. He reaches over though, to perhaps rest his hand on hers comfortingly. "But, you don't need to be a goddess to be amazing."

Storm has posed:
When Charles' last name is brought up, Ororo unnoticeably tensed until she realized who she is having a conversation with. Again, resources. She nods her head in response and starts cutting another piece from the cinnamon roll. "I believe there are higher powers out there quite deserving of the titles given to them, watching our lives and intervening when necessary."

Another bite is taken from the pastry and Ororo settles her hands on the table, just in time for Chris to reach over and set his on top of her own. A fit of goosebumps run up the sides of her arms, but she does not expressively respond other than her grin turning into a smile. "I didn't know soldiers were such flattering gentlemen."

Chris Redfield has posed:
Hey, SHIELD Agent. Chris has likely read through their files at least twice during the Fungal invasion just to know who he was working with. But, with that smile on hi sface, he smiles to her. "Yeah...I suppose so." He chuckles when she seems to not move her hand, but watch as goosebumps went up her arm.

"Us soldiers are natural flatterers. Especially me...who loves himself some nice weather." He flirts with her whilst making a joke. "I tease, I tease." though his hand remains on hers, perhaps starting to more hold it now than anything.

Storm has posed:
Another breath of humored air releases from Ororo at Chris' tease. As the goosebumps subside and the clasping of hands on the table continues, there is an undeniable thought that forms inside the mind of the Windrider. Where is this heading? She is not able to answer the question. "If you'll excuse me," Ororo says, pulling her hands free of the small embrace. "Ladies room."

Standing to her full height, Ororo places a hand firmly on Chris' shoulder and starts walking to the front of the coffee shop. She asks where the restrooms are located and the gentleman walks her to it. Ororo thanks him and proceeds inside. When the worker turns around, he heads over to Chris.

"Everything okay, bud?" the barista asks, looking on the table to see if anything needs to be removed and brought to the dish pit in the back. "Your girlfriend is quite the beauty. Lucky man."

Chris Redfield has posed:
Chris looks over to Oror before she seems to stand up, pulling her hand free and putting a hand firmly on his shoulder. The soldier watches the beautiful mistress of the sky walk away. She really was the most beautiful woman he'd ever seen. Mohawk and all. Though he did wonder if she always rocked a mohawk.

Theeen a barista walks over to him and offers to take things. "Oh, everything is alright, thank you." he does offer his own cleaned plate. But he doesn't let her take anything of Storm's out of being polite. He blushes though as the Barista believes Ororo is Chris's girlfriend. "O-Oh! She really is beautiful, thank you. But we're not dating...even if that's the hope. We'll see what happens." Chris smiles softly to the barista. awaiting Storm's return.

Storm has posed:
"Not dating?" the barista repeats, a little shocked and accepting the man's clean plate. "Well, you know what they say, you snooze you lose. You better hop on it. Because if that were my lady..." He starts to walk away, making a sound like he just ate something that was delicious as he does.

In the restroom, Ororo looks at herself in the mirror. Adjusting the sides of her Mohawk and then applying chap stick to her plump lips, she pulls out a cellphone from her jean's back pocket. Scrolling through missed messages, Ororo double-taps the home button of her Apple device and finds the security cameras to the school. She wants to make sure everything is okay.

Jill Valentine has posed:
If it had been any other time- not just by days, but by seconds or minutes at best- Jill would have had more tact. The cafe is local to SHIELD, probably just a touch out of the way, but not out of thought. All the same, Chris and Jill have similar tastes. She hadn't intended to meet him here, but if the opportunity arises...

She approaches the table as the Barista leaves, quietly stating "Tactful." in response to the last comment he'd made. However, proving her own level of tact, Jill sets a folder down in front of Chris. The contents are basic bits of paperwork and normal reports. They're technically Jill's copies, but she'll offload them to Chris in order to... "Making sure you get these and look over them."

She herself has more on her. Jill, as usual, takes work everywhere she goes. Had Ororo been present, she might've waited, but Chris almost looks alone at his table. Now is certainly a -great- time to remind him that he's never far from work.

She's dressed 'casually', which means that she's -only- wearing combat boots, and there are 'only' three places for her to hide a pistol on her person. The prime target is the back of the waist, where the sweater she's tied drapes the bulk of itself over her hindquarters. The leather skirt probably hides a knife, as it's a looser fit than normal. The boots reach her knee, which means there's probably another knife and one or two spare magazines. The t-shirt is probably -only- lightly armored.

You try escaping a city in a tubetop and see if that doesn't change your concealed carry policies.

Chris Redfield has posed:
Chris just rolls his eyes as the barista walks off, though he does look to the women's bathroom, as if waiting for Ororo to come out. Before she even does (she hasn't yet), Chris is starting to straighten out his hair a little bit and make sure his breath smells nice. This was a woman who made him nervous after all!

Then, a folder is set in front of him. Chris is silent, already knowing who it was that did it before it was even on the table. "Hey Jill." He looks up to her with a smirk. "How goes?" of course, he already had his burner phone in the event that she needed to talk to him.

"So then, how bad is it?" He looks over the folder just a little bit...but still prepared in case Ororo returns.

Jill Valentine has posed:
Jill shrugs at the question. "Normal." she states, this reserved calm unwavering in her speech. It isn't quite natural, and presents her as, in a way, untouchable. The kind of iron-nerves you get from, well, everything she'd been through in Raccoon.

"It's regular paperwork. Nothing as bad as we're used to." True to her word, it's mostly routine- things to follow up on, SHIELD regulations, that sort of thing. Coasting papers, since nothing horrible is currently about to break the world in half.

Chris Redfield has posed:
Chris nods very softly, remaining calm as he looks it over. "hmm." He opens up the file to see what he was dealing with. UUUGGGHH. SHIELD regulations. Bane of all humanity. Maybe he can convince Darcy to do it...But no, he shakes his head and he closes the file. For those who survived Raccoon City, it was hard on all of them...and it produced fearless individuals to be certain.

"Well, least it'll give me something to do when I get back to base." he closes the file. "So Jill, how's life treatin' you?"

Jill Valentine has posed:
Jill, admittedly, had the worst of it. Trapped in the center of Raccoon when the virus reached its peak, with the Nemesis on her tail, and then the effect of the virus on her body afterward. The experience hardened her, noticeably so. As such, the question takes a while for her to answer.

"I'm doing fine." Hard to believe, considering she spends most of her time doing SHIELD work. There's a following silence, then, as Jill does her best to get back to it- she hasn't really been sociable for a long time. "I'll let you get to it. The paperwork has to be filled out and sent to command ASAP. I wouldn't let it sit."

Then, she'll make her way off, to her own table. She -did- come here for coffee, after all.

Storm has posed:
After checking various camera views of the mansion remotely, Ororo closes the program on her phone and places the device back into her back pocket. Her gaze returns to the restroom's mirror as she mentally boosts herself up, "You can do this. You've saved the world once or twice. A little coffee date won't bother you, Ororo. Get it together, girl."

Nodding her head and confirming her words, Ororo washes and dries her hands before leaving the restroom and returning back to the table where Chris sat. "I hope I didn't take too long," Ororo offers, sitting in her chair and bringing her cup of coffee to her mouth. She takes a healthy sip from the liquid, allowing her blue eyes to wander a bit until they spot the folder on the table. "Getting some work done?" she asks, a brow rising in curiosity.

Chris Redfield has posed:
Sitting by himself with a file in front of him, Chris looks to Ororo as she comes back, the biggest smile on his face. "Hey." he looked like his world just brightened because she cane back into it, his hand reaching for hers to hold if she lets him.

A glance is given to the folder before he smiles. "While you were in there, Jill Valentine, a coworker and SHIELD agent dropped this off. Stupid paperwork." he chuckles a bit, looking Ororo in her eyes as he slightly leaned forward, then stopped. getting lost in her eyes. "Ororo...do you have any idea how beautiful you are?"

Storm has posed:
"There are truly no days off, it seems," Ororo says, lowering her coffee cup back to the table. It is a quarter full at this time. She crosses her legs underneath the table as her gaze connects with Chris Redfield's own, locking her blue eyes to his brown for a brief moment before Ororo smiles and looks down into her lap. "I do not but I appreciate your kind words, Chris. You certainly know how to make someone feel special," she replies, raising her head back up. He is certainly a handsome man.

"Considering you know about me and I know very little about you, tell me about yourself. Who is Chris Redfield? The man beyond the soldier?"

Chris Redfield has posed:
"Least not for soldiers." Chris grins a bit, locking his gaze on Ororo as she smiles and stops looking at him for a moment. "Maybe..but I speak only the truth." He inches perhaps a little closer to her.

"Who is Chris Redfield? Heh...a soldier is almost synonymous. but...I guess Chris is a guy from Nebraska who loves to hunt, fish, read a good book and stargaze." he smiles to her. "Someone who wants to help." His eyes lock onto hers again as he speaks.

Storm has posed:
The way Chris continues to look at Ororo, stargazing makes the most sense as a hobby for the soldier - not that she doesn't enjoy being watched with some form of admiration. There is intensity in his gaze that Ororo recognizes immediately which differs from other men she has met in the past.

Drinking the last of her coffee, Ororo looks to her watch and notes the time. While she could sit and chat with Chris all night, unfortunately, there is work to be done in the morning. "It is nearing my bed time. Thank you for allowing me to experience your world and you in general," she says, rising back to her full height and opening her arms to offer the man an embrace.

Chris Redfield has posed:
Chris smiles to her, and once she declares that it's time for her to head back, Chris rises to his feet with her, wrapping his arms around her waist to pull her close, truly enjoying the embrace. "Let's do this again soon..yeah?" He basically asks her out again with a small smile on his face, pulling away far enough just so he could look into her eyes.

Goodnight kiss?

He seems to glance to her lips, as if seriously thinking about it.

Storm has posed:
When he wraps his arms around her waist, Ororo can feel the muscle and strength in his embrace. It is enough to cause any frail to melt. Maintaining her composure, both arms wrap around Chris' neck and she pulls him in closely for a hug. He pulls away to connect their eyes once again and Ororo smiles.

"I would like that," she responds, finding an interest in his offer of a second date. She observes him closely, watching his eyes as they veer to her lips and temptation seems surround them both. "Walk me to my car?"

Chris Redfield has posed:
Chris gives Storm a warm smile as she looks to be extremely interested in going on a second date with him. Her request to have him walk her to her car does make him smile a little wider. "I'd love to." and he turns, attempting to wrap an arm around her so he could walk her outside to her car.

He has a good idea which one's hers, but he still let's her lead the way either way.

Storm has posed:
The arm is a welcome appendage, making Ororo feel feminine and protected - not that she needs to protection of a man, but it is still a good feeling as a woman beyond her powers and titles. Before they head out, Ororo picks up her coffee cup and plate and brings it to the front of the shop where there is a trashcan, throwing away the items. A small wave goes to the friendly staff before leading Chris through the exit.

The black Ford Mustang is a couple blocks down the street and Ororo starts in that direction, a hand softly caressing the more masculine and broad arm of her date. "The sky is clear tonight," she offers, looking up to the stars that sparkle above them. It is a natural affair, possibly the reaction of her subconscious mind affecting the weather. "And it seems the stars are making their presence known tonight."

Chris Redfield has posed:
Chris takes notice of just how //beautiful// the sky looks tonight. The stars as they glittered in the moonlight. "Wow..." he smiles. "The stars are beautiful tonight." He partly wonders if Ororo had done that for him as a gift. Either way, he smiles to her warmly, looking her in the eyes as they got closer and closer to her car. "They certainly are. Bright, and beautiful." that smile stays on his face.

Before he looks to storm, keeping her close to him as she stroked his muscular arm and he blushed a little bit. "It's second to only one sight."

Storm has posed:
As they reach Ororo's vehicle, she turns just in time to hear Chris' last words. More flattery. She accepts his kind words with nothing less than a smile, retrieving her car keys from her pocket. "I had a great time getting the chance to sit and chat with you. The coffee was good too. I will text you when I get to the mansion, okay?"

Chris Redfield has posed:
Chris smiles to her. "I had a great time too. Thank you for coming out with me, Ororo. I really did have an amazing time." He stays close to her. "That would be great, thank you." His eyes look then to her lips....and in perhaps a moment of courage, he leans forward to give her a gentle kiss on her lips to say goodnight to her, if she allows it, his hand moving to caress her cheek if the kiss is accepted.

Storm has posed:
Seeing his intentions quickly, Ororo subconsciously counters, turning her head to the side as Chris' lips firmly grace her cheek. Not on the first date, mister! The tease comes with a smile in tow.

"Have a good night, Chris." And with that, Ororo unlocks her vehicle, walks to the driver's side, and hops inside. The car's engine comes to life as she puts on her seatbelt, and it isn't long before she drives off down the street.

Chris Redfield has posed:
Chris's lips find Ororo's cheek as she seems to evade him...but still, in a way, give to his affections. He instead smiles softly at having been allowed to kiss her cheek. Then she tells him goodnight. "Goodnight, Ororo." and Chris steps back, watching as Storm drives off into the night.

...leaving Chris doing a little fist pump. "Yes." he says, lifting his arms into the air. Atta boy Chris!
