Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Captain America, Lara Croft

Captain America has posed:
Blue eyed, clean cut, wearing a smile that says he is everyones next door neighbor Steve Rogers raps lightly on the office entryway of the WAND quarters. A simple hooded zip up sweater thats undone, running pants and shoes. His physique as described, set to a peak human standard and far more youthful than he has any right to be.
"Knock knock." He announces loudly, despite the fact that he had just seconds ago knocked on the frame. Tucked under one forearm is a box wrapped up and a colorful yet small bouquet of flowers.

Lara Croft has posed:
Lara has only been in her office for about thirty minutes when she hears a knock on the door. She'd just sat down behind her desk and was researching a topic on her laptop, even quietly mouthing the words that she was reading on the laptop's monitor when she hears the knock and the voiced-knock on the other side of it. "Come in." She says loud enough for whomever was out there, she assumes one of her co workers within the WAND division, since they're often stopping by to ask for her input on something or to discuss social things that she generally always turns down for one reason or another, she's got herself quite a anti-social reputation... which she always has had in any social sphere she resided within.

The SHIELD acquisition agent is wearing a dark blue tanktop and a SHIELD light jacket since its always cold in the Triskelion, in the lower 60s it seems like. She doesn't look up to see who enters either as she's just engrossed in her research. Not really expecting Captain America of all people.

Captain America has posed:
The out of time soldier enters with the invitation, sweeping around a corner ddesk to follow the voice to it's owner, that smile not once faultering until he's immediately before her. Politely he stands waiting for her to lift her eyes up. A casual look around at the room, taking in a part of the Triskelion he doesn't recall having been in before, briefly perhaps to drop a thing off.

While shes preoccupied with her work he silently turns to look at what may adorn the walls in here, small talk ammunition and getting to know the young adventurer.

Lara Croft has posed:
There's two pictures on the wall, one of Lara standing between her mother and father when she was a child around 8, and another when she's around 12 or so in what looks to be a pirate ship treehouse, likely in her backyard wherever her childhood home is. She looks happy in both of the pictures.

"I'm sorry... one second." She types something down and then clicks with the mouse button to send the e-mail response to someone. "Okay, I'm s--" She cuts herself off as she looks over and up at the man before her desk and recognizes who it is. "So... sorry." She then quickly stands up. "Captain Rogers." Lara says, in that same accent that Peggy Carter has, indicating a similar region of origin for both women. "I, didn't know you were coming I wouldn't have been nearly so rude." She seems embarrassed, awkwardly so, She quikcly reaches forward to close her laptop down, then she raises her hands up the sides of her face to brush her brown hair back over her ears before she THEN extends her right hand.

"So nice to see you." She says to him, flashing a smile on her makeup-less lips. "I'm Lara, Croft. How--how might I help you?"

Captain America has posed:
The picture of Lara and her parents has Steve lingering, a quiet chuckle at her expression an the pirate ship treehouse is produced.
"Cute."
"No need to apologize. I am a patient man, Agent Croft." The side profile of him still one recognizable as he is facing away from her, there are so many pictures of him out there it is hard to mistake him for anyone else, in or out of costume.

"You can call me, Steve."
"You wouldn't have. I didn't call ahead, this wasn't exactly planned. I was told a story and came right here."
"Well," He shakes the box and grows another approachable smile, "Almost right here."

"This is for you." He extends the boxed up gift for her. The flowers he doesn't hand over. Those go to someone else.

"Help, entirely why I am here and you already have."

Lara Croft has posed:
Lara glances over at the pictures that he comments on, she quickly smiles but its gone in a flash as he continues on then toward why he's come and she nods softly once to him and what he says. "Steve then." She says in a pleasant tone. "Oh." Lara starts then, her eyes on the box, curiosity instantly flaming up inside of her as any box with an unknown item in it has kind of fueled Lara's desire to know what it is... her whole life.

When he extends it, she has one of those awkward moments of pause before she reaches out for it to receive. "For me?" She asks him then, and then internally she just tells herself its something for work and not some kind of social gift like a birthday thing or anything, besides her birthday was months ago.

With the box between her hands she looks it over before she raises her eyes up to Steve again. "What sort of story?" She asks him then. "I promise I'm not as weird as they say." She then laughs softly, trying not to making it an overly nerdy sounding laugh. She's a 'Lady' afterall! Nobility... oh how she hated that training as a child.

Captain America has posed:
"Yes. It was short notice but hopefully something you'll enjoy. I've been told it's sexist of me to say things like 'all women love clothes' but... I come from a time where we usually called it how we seen it not how people told us we were supposed to. I mean, gosh, that does sound fairly horrible when I say it out loud." Steve lets out a wistful noise as he blows a gust past his teeth, "Go ahead though, you can open it. I like seeing people's expressions anyways." Anything to smile and feel better about the world. Plus, its human connection, he may be from another era but people are still people and he still wants to be one of them.

"That you were in the expedition that found me. I wanted to personally thank you."

The gift itself is what appears to be a gaudy old pair of Pajamas from the 1930s-1940s, bright colored, big collars, button upon, two piece, top and bottoms. Not a knock off or look a like but actual vintage handmade and in blues, whites and deeper blues. Color back then tended to pop a lot more and had less inlaid variations so its quite bright.
"I have a friend who collected so much and kept it in good condition, I went through what he still had and picked this out. I hope it fits and if not, it still may be a collectable someone might appreciate one day."

Lara Croft has posed:
Lara flashes another quick smile at his words about sexist remarks. "Its unfair for you considering you quite literally come from a different time. Though I've heard that you do fully believe in the opposite gender being given the same rights and responsibilities as their male counterparts, so you may come from a different era but you're still ahead of the pack when it comes to quite a lot of things that still exist, even today in 2026." She lets her smiling gaze linger a second before she looks down to the box.

"Oh, yes of course." But she sets the box down and pauses to look back at him. "Yes, thats right. But really... just finding you was the only gift that was needed... Point in fact, I'm so used to seeking out and recovering objects of great power that can be used to destroy our world, its one of my more refreshing memories to help uncover something that could help save our world." Her smile grows larger then before she adds on. "Or someone, rather."

And then her eyes go down again to the package and she starts to open it up. Once she has the garments out and laid over the box to get a good look at them she just lets her smile turn into a grin. "Unexpected." She says, her brown eyes going back up to his blue. "I love it. Unconventional gifts are actually my favorite kind. I look forward to trying this on tonight." Was that an awkward thing to say? She's not sure, the expression on her face showcases that too...

Captain America has posed:
"I've a standard to hold myself to." Steve says, "My mother would never forgive me otherwise." As if to add levity to it he inserts, "She was Irish. You may understand some of my fear there."

"Objects of great power." A repeat of her words, "Should I be honored by that?" A light joke to soften up some of the atmosphere.

"Be humble all you like, I am in your debt on this one. I can't honestly say what it felt like wake up from that, I'm not that articulate but, I am thankful."

"Good! I hope it is as comfortable as I remember them being when I was a kid. I had a nice one once, they messed up with dyes when they made it so it had on off color of red that almost looked pink, I was embarassed, madly so and my father I swear he was going to give me heck but all he did was chuckle and tell me never wear it out of the house!"
"Which, in retrospect that wasn't very funny, not like it was then but to him he laughed and laughed. Great times." He trails off quietly, losing himself in to a sort of bitter-sweet nostalgia.

Lara Croft has posed:
Lara softly nods to the part of the Irish heritage and she has a faint and warm smile to the concept of it. "Right." She says quietly, her hands raising the top of the outfit up out of the box to hold it up in front of her stoamch where she just lightly runs her thumbs over the material. "It is a compliment, I assure you." She replies a little further before his story of his pink sleepwear makes her laugh, a pleasant sound but one that sounds restrained as though she doesn't like to let herself laugh more than just a little. More etiquette training instilled in her since childhood.

Lara's eyes leave him then and go back down to the clothing he'd gifted her. "I wish all the things I rescued from dark places would someday come to me and offer me comfy things to sleep in." She jests then, raising her eyes again to smile once more. "Thank you, Cap-- Steve." And she extends her right hand to him. "Really, I'm just glad to have helped bring you back to us. We need more people like you. The world, that is."

Captain America has posed:
Steve is fast on the smile as is his hand to extend and take hers in a polite, shockingly light shake of hers. "You as well, Lara. I look forward to working with you more in the future."

A look at her and he holds up that flower assembly in his hand, "What do you think of these? A woman's opinion." Not that she knows who they are for and tastes of course vary. It's simple, small, homey, like almost as though he picked it himself. He did, just from a florist and unfortunately he forgot Peggy's favorite color and flower.

Lara Croft has posed:
Lara would be lying if part of her hadn't expected Captain Rogers was about to give her flowers, but another part of her knew just how absurd that would be for him to do so. She just grins at his last question. "They're beautiful. She'll love them." The British woman tells the all American man on his way out. "And thank you again, I'll send you an email to give you my full review on the outfit first chance that I get." And with that, she gently sets the top back down and offers him a light wave before she returns to sitting behind her desk.
