Date of Scene: 03 October 2018
Location: Library - Wayne Manor
Synopsis: Tim and Bruce talk about what Tim will do about an offer.
Cast of Characters: Red Robin, Batman

Red Robin has posed:
The Library, usualy not a place one would find Tim at this time of night, but, he just finished a long paper, as well as the rest of a portfolio that he had been working on during the past week. He left Bruce a message that said 'Tim needs to talk to Bruce.' which meant that it was not crime stuff, or at least, not the type of crime stuff one would think.

Batman has posed:
Some more of the unread subtext of the note might read that Bruce should not show up wearing the cape and cowl. To his credit, by this hour he'd already be out on patrol and it is something of a testament to his role that he has yet to leave. Or maybe he has already been out. Either way, when he steps into the library he is wearing a simple black sweater and jeans. His hair is a mess - recently washed and not yet combed - and he appears to shave the layer of stubble that had been getting quite long over the last few days. He pauses a moment in the doorway, his brow slightly furrowed. The look when something is puzzling him and he can't quite put a finger on it.
    "You wanted to talk?"

Red Robin has posed:
"Yeah, um.. have a seat." He says as he stands up from the chair and looks over at Bruce. "I have a choice to make, and it involves what we do." he then holds up a formal peice of paper, the header clearly states Gotham U Law School. "Due to my degree I'm getting in Forensices and Criminology, they want me to attend law school. They said Based on my GPA, I'd make for one of the est Prosicutors that Gotham has seen since Dent." He says with a frown. "I mean, I could excel there, and it would help to keep anyone we get behind bars... behind bars where they are suposed to be. But it would cut into my street time, massivly." He isn't saying he would quit, far from it, but he wouldent be out every night. "So, I know it's my choice and all that, but I want to know what you think. If we need this." he holds up the paper. "I'll do it, but if you think we are better off not doing it, I'll decline the invitation."

Batman has posed:
"Are you firing me?" Bruce asks as he's invited to take a seat, a touch of the humorous Bruce Wayne mask that he puts on around others. Not family. Perhaps a testament to his own feelings about this sudden meeting that he isn't sure of the nature of. As he sits and it is laid out before him, he seems to relax a bit and then tense up once again. He nods his head, listening as the details are laid out and looking over the paper. He is silent for a long time after Tim is finished speaking, absorbing what he has been told:
"Tim, I don't think this is about what we need. You're probably the biggest team player out of all of us, myself included, but I don't think this is about whether we need a District Attorney in the Family or whether we need Red Robin ... I want to help you with this choice, but at the same time I don't want to make it for you. If I said we needed you out there instead of behind a desk, what would you do?"

Red Robin has posed:
"That's the thing Bruce... I don't know. I went to University because that's what my parents would have wanted, that's what's expected of me. After that I was content to fight crime, like you do, like a lot of us do. But then they drop this in my lap, I mean, this opens a lot of doors, DAQ's office, Judge, heck, Congress or the supreme court. I mean, we do what we do for justice, and you can't tell me that quite a few of the guys we catch get the cases dropped because some of the DA's people are afraid to fight against a counter assault charge." Tim says as he lets out a sigh. "The system;s broken bruce, and it needs to be fixed on the inside, but.. if I spend time doing that, then I can't pick up any extra slack here. That's my dilema, the good of the people versus being here for my family, yes even the little squirt." He says, though he does secretly hope damian cleans house in that tourny, he should have joined, but his crime fighting, and schoolwork, take a heavy amount of time.

Batman has posed:
Bruce nods his head, listening to what Tim has to say. It seems, by the way his impassive features break into a faint half-smile that he needed to hear it from the man himself. He leans back a bit in his seat, "If you want to know what I think, I think you already know the answer. And since I was never much for the zen koans, I'll elaborate - I think you should do it. Damian and I can pick up the slack here." Something tells him Damian won't be running off to law school, "I can call in Dick if need be. I had thought about bringing in ... "
He trails off, as though not quite ready to bring that one up yet.
"What I'm saying is this sounds like the fight that matters more, Tim. I'll be behind you all the way."

Red Robin has posed:
Tim nods and offers a smile. "Well, I won't be a lawyer for at least another three years, so There's time to make sure that Damian grows into what we need him to be." he says as he takes out a pen and signs the paper, and slips it into the vanilla folder as well, which is slipped into an envelope, he already had all the paperwork done apparently. "I'll mail this off tomorrow." he then looks at Bruce. "Bringing in... Spoiler or Jason, one of the two I'm guessing." Tim smirks. "Yeah, I heard he was alive, so... government or Ras' pit of dispair?"

Batman has posed:
"Jason isn't ready to play ball, if he really is back," Bruce says with a shake of his head, frowning lightly and passing over the subject swiftly, "Stephanie ... maybe. There's still more to do there. I have other ideas. Something different."
He stands up, slapping the desk lightly with the palm of his hand, "But that's for me to worry about. You've got a Juris Doctor to earn. I won't pretend I'm not a bit hurt that you won't be a Fighting Bulldog though."
He gestures across the room to the Yale Law diploma mounted on the wall.

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake blinks. "I could have gotten in, Hell, Oxford, MIT, colorado institute of minds, they all wanted me, but I wanted Gotham. This is my city, I learn here, and I protect Justice here." He says with pride. "That and I'll have to make sure Damian is good with the titans, that there will be out the window for me." he says and tosses bruce a small thumb drive. "Graphene nanotech schematics. It;s in theory right now, but I'm sure someone could make a tripple weave synthetic silk from it. My calculations put it at making kevlar look like 2 ply toilet tissue." he says with a smirk. "Stark can weep over our advancement.. smartest man alive... pah!"

Batman has posed:
"I'll tell him you said that at the next billionaire's club meeting," Bruce answers with a laugh, moving over to the window and catching the drive in mid-stride with the utmost grace. He folds his hands behind his back, nodding, "I'll see what I can do with it. I think the standard issue uniforms are due a new iteration, anyway. I see all that power armour out there and wonder if there might be a way to miniatruize ... "
Out over the city, far in the distance, the Bat Signal appears in the clouds. He stares at it for a moment before immediately moving towards the grandfather clock that is the secret entrance to the Batcave, "I've got this. You've got case law to memorize."
Again, the faint smirk, "I don't miss that."

Red Robin has posed:
Tim chuckles. "Eidetic memory remember? Read it once, it's there, besides, that's not until the summer anyway. I have... hacker stuff to do anyway." he says as he turns. "Oh Bruce... be safe." he says before walking towards his room.
