Cast of Characters: X-23, Wonder Woman

X-23 has posed:
It's late. Specifically, the wee hours of the morning, when X-23 arrives at the embassy, with a bag over her shoulder. The teenager walks up to the main doors, trying them first, to see if they open. If they don't, she'll take other steps.

Wonder Woman has posed:
The main doors are locked at night, but there is a security system in place and a pair of cameras record anyone who approaches the doorway and indicates when or if someone tries to open them, so already there's a 'pip' sent to the security system of the embassy. Not an emergency, just an alert.

Diana isn't asleep, she doesn't require a whole lot of sleep and thusly tends to not go to bed until 1:00am or so, and she gets up around 5:00am on most days. So she's still up at the moment, in her bedroom off of of her office, she's seated at a small glass table with her laptop open and her eyes upon its screen reading a world news website. There are lights on in the room but the bedroom is at the back of the embassy, rather than the front so they likely wouldn't be seen by whomever was testing the front doors.

X-23 has posed:
The door is locked. That's okay. X-23 simply pops one claw on her right hand, and with a single swipe of the adamantium blade draws it down between the two doors to simply slice through the locks and open the door. She is many things, but subtle is rarely one.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Such an action is definitely going to sound an internal alarm, but its a 'silent' alarm. It rushes through the embassy's security system and alerts all necessary parties, including Diana of course. A ping on her cell phone goes off and one on her laptop that she's on as well. She stands up and with a concerned look on her face she moves toward the doorway of her room out toward the hall. There's she's met by one of her Amazonian sisters who's assigned to the Embassy, the woman is already armed with sword and a glare of combat preparedness.

"It was the front door." The Amazon Warrior tells her Princess as they both move toward the front of the Embassy then, the lights coming on as they enter the hallways and each room throughout the building as well.

X-23 has posed:
X-23 starts forward. She retracts the claw as soon as she's through the door, so she'll encounter the princess and warrior fairly early on; she's not really making any attempt to be stealthy; she's just directly walking forward. The lights are clearly indicating they know she's there, anyway. She moves forward until she sees someone. "Sorry about your door."

Wonder Woman has posed:
X-23 is greeted by both of the Amazons, Diana in a white and black dress that she'd worn during her daily business and the other woman warrior wearing a black top and matching bottoms, comfortable and casual sleepwear it would seem. Though, she's also holding a sword! But Diana--upon seeing Laura--reaches over to her sister to have her lower the sword down. She glances away from the other Themysciran woman and then looks to Laura and shows her a sympathetic expression, she walks toward her. "It is okay, it can be fixed." She replies to her. "Are you okay?" She asks then, motiong Laura to sit on the sofa chair just to her side in the main lobby of the home where there are several chairs and sofas for visitors to wait during business hours.

X-23 has posed:
Laura looks back. "No. The woman I trusted is a ghost. I have nowhere safe to go. May I stay?" she asks Diana, though she's stayed standing. She looks...blank, even for X-23. Dried blood covers her left forearm.

Wonder Woman has posed:
"A ghost?" Diana's sister asks then, looking from the girl to the Princess then, she seems wholely confused by this child. "The litlte one has blood on her hand." She adds.

"I see it." Diana replies as she looks from Laura's hand up to her eyes, she reaches her own hand out slowly and non threateningly. "May I see?" She asks X-23 then, "I take it this is not your blood?" She asks then of the young one. "And yes, you may stay here, this is a safe place for you, I promise that."

X-23 has posed:
"A ghost. She came to give a warning." Laura answers Diana's sister, before answering the princess herself. "It is mine." Thanks to the regen, the skin under it is healed and unmarred, but the dried blood is hers. "Thank you." She says, looking about. "Is there a room I can use to sleep?" The bag over her shoulder holds her few worldly possessions.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana glances toward her sister and the woman nods her head once and goes off down the central hallway of the embassy. "Of course, yes." Diana tells Laura then. "You are welcome here as long as you wish to be here. We certainly need to help find out why you keep finding yourself in situations where you need to use those dangerous claws of yours. I do not want to sound... patronizing, but at your age you should be worrying about much less... harmful things than that." Diana then flashes a soft smile. "Though I am sure that that healing ability you possess makes it seem like 'not so big a deal' hmm?"

The other woman returns with a wet wash cloth and she offers it to Diana who takes it then and will reach out to help clean Laura's hand off some. "I will prepare the room." The other Amazonian woman says, she doesn't seem to trust this kid so much as Diana, but she's also not as experienced with children as Diana is.

"Does this ghost have a name?" Diana then asks.

X-23 has posed:
Laura looks a little confused at the comment about using her claws. "I just cut the door open." The blood on her arm doesn't even seem to register till Diana is cleaning it, then adds "I did that. And the ghost's name is Jean." she says, matter-of-factly.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana had interpretted this late night visit as a 'I just came from a fight' scenario. "I see." She says quietly. "Well then, I have two people I need to speak with, it would seem." She shows a faint smile to the girl then as she motions her down the hallway. "Here, come along." Diana starts down the central hallway then and she looks back to Laura. "Would this Jean by the Headmistress of Xavier's?" She asks then. "I have done a little bit of reading about that school since you and I last spoke."

X-23 has posed:
The girl walks on, following the much longer-legged princess with quicker steps of her own. She looks up. "Yes. Or she was. Before she left." X-23 answers, shaking her head a bit. She doesn't appear to approve of that. Her eyes flit here and there as they move, committing the floorplan to memory as she goes.

Wonder Woman has posed:
The Embassy was once a Mayorial home for a former New York City Mayor, its a large home considering the size of living spaces within the city, and its been kept up well and currently is filled with art and culture of the Themysciran people. Laura will likely relate most to the women warriors depicted in the paintings and sculptures that are prominently displayed throughout the whole building. Diana leads the young further into the room and then up a flight of a stairs to the second level. "Well, I really need to pay a visit there. Perhaps I can do that in the morning." She says as she leads her to one of the Guest rooms. The light is already on within it, the other Amazonian had prepared it for the visitor. "Here you are. Your own private suite." Diana says then with a smile. "There's a restroom within as well so you can clean up and get comfortable for sleep." She motions to a control on the wall. "And should you need anything, you need but press this button here and speak. Food or simply someone to come help you, and they shall arrive."

X-23 has posed:
"Don't. It's dangerous. Something evil is there." Laura says, by way of warning. "It's why I left." Part of why. Part was because of losing her ties. She nods to the guest room. "Thank you." Still curt of speech and laconic.

Wonder Woman has posed:
"I believe you are right." Diana replies then to the young one. "But there are many students there, are there not?" She asks then, now standing in the doorway and watching Laura. "It is my duty to ensure their safety if something bad truly is happening there... I fight dangerous things quite a lot, for the very same reasons. To protect others. It is my life's sworn duty."

X-23 has posed:
"There are." Laura says. Diana's comments make her frown. "Something could happen to you. You shouldn't go." It's the first thing she's said tonight that has any real degree of emotion to it. "You can't fight ghosts."

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana's fellow Amazon sister arrives then from the hallway with a stack of bath towels and a change of clothes, stuff that they have on site from the various school celebrations that they host here at the Embassy, so its 'Wonder Woman' themed clothing, in Laura's size. She steps into the room and sets it all down on the table just inside.

Diana continues to talk to Laura, however. "Can you describe this ghostly presence to me?" She then asks of the young one. "So that I might have a better understanding of it?"

X-23 has posed:
Laura gives a nod to the other woman. "Thank you." She'll then start to strip out of her bloodied clothing to change, modesty be damned. "Jean was a ghost. She said she came to warn me." For Laura, this is practically a speech. "She said something evil is there, inside Emma."

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana and her sister certainly have no discomfort toward another female changing clothing in front of them, its sort of common where they're from. That being said, they also do not look to give the young one the privacy she deserves. Diana's chin is down low and her eyes are on the doorframe in front of her, her ears focused on Laura's words. "Emma?" She asks then. "Is that another teacher's name or is that a student's name?" The other Amazon has exited the room again and gone back into the hallway.

X-23 has posed:
"Another teacher." Pause. "I was going to kill her. But then I decided I should not." And she's not entirely comfortable with that decision. Laura's go-to response to solve any problem is always to kill it.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana looks up then after the girl had swapped out her clothing and spoken these words to her. "I am very glad that you decided not too." She tells her softly. "Killing is something that I have done, myself. But I only do it when it is the very last option, simply the only way to stop something from harming others. It is the option you choose, when all other options have been exhausted. And I feel there are likely other options here, yet still, so I am glad you elected to come here instead." And she shows Laura another soft smile then. "I like the clothing." She says, since the logo that was created for her adorns the garments, so she's biased to liking them!

X-23 has posed:
"I have killed many people. It was not the first time. It will not be the last." Laura says it, just like she's resigned to the fact. She adjusts the t-shirt and shorts; it's much more casual than most of her attire. "It would have solved the problem. But many of the teachers have tried to speak as you...to use killing as a last resort. I took that option. I am not sure it was wise."

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana keeps her smile visible after hearing this last part from Laura. "You will see it in time. I know that killing can seem like the least complicated of all choices, to be done with it and move beyond it. But the problem is that killing can unravel a lot of things that will never be tied back up again. It can cause you to lose ground, become unstable and eventually fall to a place you cannot climb out of, ever again. It is why it has to be handled with such caution."

X-23 has posed:
Laura listens. She doesn't look like she's necessarily buying into the opinion, but at least she is listening. "I am not unstable." Quite the opposite. "But I am unused to deciding when and who to kill. Those decisions were made for me, previously." And learning it, or unlearning it, has been her greatest challenge.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana shows a faint nod to the young girl's words and she feels a great deal of sorrow for what this one has had to go through, things she can't even imagine and if she did know the full spectrum of? She might be inclined to do some killing of her own in Laura's name. "Well. Either way, you are safe here and you are welcome to stay and enjoy. Breakfast will be at 7:30, so you should get some sleep. There is a television there... if you need the white noise to help. I have heard many people claim it helps them rest." Diana moves to step out of the room then with one hand on the door's knob.

X-23 has posed:
Laura nods. Sleep is important, and she has no problem following Diana's "order" to do so. She'll move to the bed, and says "Thank you." before the princess departs.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana nods softly then and offers the girl a soft and calm "Good night, Laura." Shen then pulls the door shut and starts off down the hallway back toward where her room is located. She needs to get out to this Xavier's School and find out what precisely is going on there, her expression is not one of being pleased about what she's heard either.
