A Delicate Offer
Date of Scene: 09 October 2018
Location: Helena's Office
Synopsis: Kate and Helena talk about a business deal.
Cast of Characters: Batwoman, Battleborn

Batwoman has posed:
For practicality, high level business meetings are probably the worst thing ever. Because there's travel, scheduling, assistants, projects, and all kinds of other mess to consider. But when one of the senior advisors for Hamilton Arms - And the adopted daughter of the company CEO - Requests a meeting to discuss something without any staff present, it does make for an interesting request. Kate Kane is an amusing read on paper, too. Chemistry major, DD'd from the Army for her sexual orientation, and now a young, enthusiastic businesswoman who is a steering hand for Hamilton Arms Research and Development Division.

Despite the sensible pants suit, that even manages to hide some of the lean muscle of the redheaded soldier, she caused something of an issue before she even got to the elevator - Leaving Security with two pistols, a collapsible baton and a knife. And yet with makeup pristine, suit freshly pressed and her briefcase beside her, she's finally on her way up.

Battleborn has posed:
Odd, how someone can get Discharged for their orientation, granted, Helena herself is bi, though, when you have a person able to toss cars around a combat field who doesnt really display her affection publicly, though she thinks that Kate's discharge was unfair, she doesn't plan on bringing it up.

The memo from security got a small laugh, Helena finds it... quaint, and somthing to admire. Of course her long coat is off, and her shirt sleeves are rolled up, white silk blouse and her usual itallian leather pants and boots worn. it's not hard for one to see the muscles and curves Helena has, nor the small showing of nordic looking tatoos that start right below her collar bone.

"Ms. Kane, a pleasure, please come in, now, what is this all about?" She says, also making an offer for Coffee.

Batwoman has posed:
Kate enters the room with a flattering smile, "Ms Shepard. A joy to finally meet you face to face." She begins, crossing the room and making her way to the desk, careful not to scratch or dislodge anything before she sets her briefcase down. Damnable thing. Kate's slightly stepped heels are just enough to be professional, but still feminine, and add to her already decent height. "To put it simply? Hamilton Arms is looking to build a few more sites for research and development, and our current list of contractors is somewhat... Lacking in quality and quantity."

A heavy pause follows, "Including a blacksite for our less than public support of some of the vigilantism in Gotham, which I hope is a detail that could stay off the record. As you have something of a history in vigilante action, I thought you would be someone worth speaking to."

Battleborn has posed:
"Shepard Construction mostly deals in Urban Projects, Damages from fights, or acts of gods, sometimes they can be from the same thing." Helena says with a small chuckle. "A small history, most of the time I get a call from my CO to armor up and pound somthing that requires my.. expert skill." Legal is legal. "But I have no problem having my people work those projects, so long as human rights and ethics are followed, I don't see any reason why we can't have a business agreement." She says with a smile before reaching for her coffee mug. "So a few sites at locations of your choice, and then a third facility... let's call it a shipping hub... in gotham." She says with a wink. "You know, your father could have simply called me, for you to come in person, I feel honored."

Batwoman has posed:
"Call it Admiration," Kate responds smoothly, taking her own coffee cup and sipping from it, before couching it in both her hands. "Besides, R&D is currently something of my responsibility, so I like to make the important calls myself and in person - It helps to get a feel for who you're working with, what kind of things they value." A casual glance around the office, before she ventures. "It tells you a lot about whether or not they're someone you should liase with."

"I wouldn't worry about that. I'm not interested in putting anyone's life in danger, I'm looking for discretion and competence. If it takes time or money, neither of those things are really an object, but in the days of corporate espionage, our IP is more important than both." Another sip. "Besides. I never miss a chance to rub shoulders with an Officer. Anything for a competitive advantage."

Battleborn has posed:
A look around the office does show a few Marine Peices, Her Drill Instructor's canvas hat, a few of her combat badges, a picture of a freashly minted Marine (Helena) and other ribbons and awards, as well as trophys from Highschool for both Trakc and feild, and Basket ball. Helena smiles and gives a nod. "I agree IP is first and foremost." She says.

A smile comes across her angular features. "People won't know about thease sites, I'll have people working on them I can trust, the other twenty percent of the shareholders wont know anything about them aside from 'shut up and take your check.'" She says before leaning against her desk. "And if you keep complimenting me like that, I might have to ask you to dinner and a dance."

Batwoman has posed:
"I'll have the contracts forwarded over to you as soon as we've finalised the purchases through some of our shell companies." Kate determines - Because they're hardly 'secret' if they have the company name on them. "And of course, if there's anything you need from us - Or are just curious about - I'm sure we could see what's experimental but otherwise available." Another flattering smile, as Kate shakes her head and teases.

"I doubt you'd be able to drop everything just to take a girl out for a meal because she was flattered. Besides, complimenting you would be more like telling you that if I could look as good as you in ten years, I'd consider it a personal achievement." A soft chuckle follows. "It would belong on my resume."

Battleborn has posed:
Helena chuckles. "Half Asgardian, My life expectancy is double what a normal human's is, so, I age slower. Besides, I'm free tonight." She says with a smile as she leans over closer to Kate. "Have those contracts sent to my personal assistant, he runs most of this company for me while I'm otherwise occupied, and barring a mutant going nuts through the street, like I said, I'm free." She states, of course she leans back and smiles.

Batwoman has posed:
"Well, don't you have me at a disadvantage then." Kate deflects neatly, "I'm woefully human, but I try to keep fit and eat well. My father drilled that into me long before the Army had a chance to." Kate fails to pull away when Helena draws closer, holding her ground with that teasing little quirk of her lip, before she can come to an agreement. "Well then I guess I have no choice but to agree to a dinner. I'll have to get my assistant to finalise the rest of the paperwork on my end. So, what's there to do in Metropolis to keep a girl entertained while she's waiting on being wined and dined?"

Battleborn has posed:
Helena smiles, it's a happy smile too. 'Well, there is the museum, and the monorail, pretty good sight of the city, a lot of people go to the park in hopes of catching superman flying overhead." She says with a chuckle. "Or supergirl." She adds with a smirk, but once they agree on their contract handelers, she sends a quick memo to her assistant.
Where shall I pick you up at, say... seven thirty?"

Batwoman has posed:
"She's cute, but young. Although both her and Superman have always made me feel a touch uncomfortable anyway - But I suppose they're necessary." Kate pulls out her phone, considering the time, and then shrugs. "Perhaps I'll go find something a little more appropriate to wear for dinner then, and you can collect me from the Metropolitan Grand. Apparently they have a penthouse available." Far be it from her not to enjoy a night off, right/

Battleborn has posed:
Now helena has to figure out.. Lambo or Astin Martin... screw it, lambo tonight. She smiles and moves around the desk to take kate's hand. "Well, until then." She says as she kisses the back of the woman's hand with offers a wink. Though, once the woman makes her way out of the room, Helena fist pumps and spins around.

Batwoman has posed:
Kate has the grace to blush faintly at the kiss to the back of her hand, and she blows one at Helena in return. "I'm looking forward to it, Helena." Why not drop the Ms Shepard altogether, after all. She collects her briefcase, and offers a nod, "Until later, then." And with that, she makes her way out of the office. Time to collect her guns.
