Sindr has posed:
The Raethon system, on the fringes of Sector 2814, has a few inhabited planets according to records, scans, and such. One of them, however, stands out by merit of... well, a chunk of it seems to be lit up like a bonfire! Swaths of land can be seen, from space, to be glowing like a bonfire at night, or plagued by roving clouds of black smoke during the day. There is a cluster of ships in orbit.

Ares has posed:
That cluster of Ships in orbit are citizens of the planet itself. They're evacuating. Planetside, the God of War, Ares (or Mars. Same same.) Strikes down a fire demon as he shouts to others. "Get off the planet! NOW! Women and children first!" So far, the War God was alone in stemming the tide and was successfully holding them back...but Ares might not be able to hold off Musphelheims endless hordes forever. He wears pitch black armor, with a sword in one hand and a mace in the other, both humming with immense godly power.

Power Girl has posed:
The JL Comm system is a robust and capable entity, enabling them to listen in to planets so far beyond most of their reach that if half of the street level League knew just how far out the fingers extended, they'd probably spit milk. The reception on Earth from Raethon is a little gross, but at the same time, it's enough.

Flight through the atmosphere at Mach VI always feels just a little slow for Power Girl. This is because as soon as she can -feel- the lose of friction's sensation on her skin, she presses the throttle down, accelerating in portions of a heartbeat past light itself to make child's play of galactic distances. For some, the idea of visiting the edge of the galaxy is a lifelong dream.

    For her, it's a Thursday.

She left not long ago- the slowest part of this process isn't the response, it's the reception- and as soon as she nears the atmosphere, the shrieking shape of an effortless entry into the atmosphere likely trips every sensor in the system.

As well, the first strike on a flaming demon sending a resounding shockwave that sounds like the peal of thunder accompanied by what must be the shout of the -angriest- blonde in the sector, if not the universe, heralds perhaps the most inspiring bit of knowledge in recent memory.

A Kryptonian is here. It's the punchy one.

Star-Lord has posed:
The signal was like a technological scream into the night for anyone with a decent communications array. The Milano picked it up easily, and had just dropped through atmo above the flares. Anyone who has ever heard of the Guardians of the Galaxy would recognize the ship as it flies over the raging fires, having dropped the rest of the Guardians off at various places to scout. Drax and Star-Lord were doing an overall sweep from the sky... and Star-Lord was saving Drax for something /really/ big.

Drax was much too powerful to waste on small fry.

The fight of Ares fighting on the ground has Star-Lord squinting into the sensor screen, "Is that... some kind of earth knight?" Star-Lord asks, incredulously, "that definitely qualifies as str-"

Then Power Girl rockets through the atmosphere, and the resulting shockwave trips the Milano's potential collision alarm, "Woah mama!" The Milano shakes as Star-Lord steadies the craft, the Milano flying over Ares erratically as the ace pilot fights to keep it level.

"What in the hell was that?!"

Sindr has posed:
The fire demons /would/ be outmatched, were it not for the fact it's not /just/ fire demons with swords and spears stomping about. It's massive beasts - dragons, giant lizards that may as well be dragons, other large flying things that don't just respond to pilot controls, but actually have their own survival instincts and combat training. All of these things with armored and flaming bodies. And fire. Copious amounts of fire that not only burns things that burn, but clings to all /kinds/ of things. That blinds various sensors and visual cues. Smoke that obscures things all too easily. That, when hot enough, melts metals and short circuits technology. And there's hordes of them. Hordes of all manner of burning things that set non-burning things to burning.

And some of those burning things - more of them over time - are picking up technology and putting it to use. Poorly, but still doing it. It often breaks, but they're still doing it.

The shockwave accompanied Kryptonian certainly gains her fair share of attention, and probably much to the escaping people's gratitude, draws it away from them. A literal wave of fiery beings gets blown back, only to rush back in to attack the new person.

And unfortunately, shockwaves aren't the only thing to plague the Milano right now. It seems a flight of winged beasts with riders has taken note of the ship, and are heading straight for it!

Drax has posed:
Drax looks over Star-lord's shoulder at the screen, "It is a woman, Quill. I know you have been lonely, but surely you remember."

Drax is more than ready for action, his knives in his belt and bouncing a bit on his booted feet as he takes in the situation. "You Earth people all look alike to me. How can I tell you apart?" He grips the top of the seat as the shockwaves rattle the ship, narrowing his eyes, "Look at those animals! I want one! I will kill them all and you will let me keep it. It will eat from my hand and be my friend, once I wash the blood of that rider off of it!"

Star-Lord has posed:
"Preeetty sure that's not how it works, Drax, but I can appreciate the thought." Star-Lord grunts as he starts to fly around buildings and head for the mountains, the Milano's engines scream as they fly away from Ares as Star-Lord keeps ahead of the winged beasts, "Drax, can you get into the tailgun blaster. I need some breathing room if we're going to land." Power Girl will have to wait.

Sindr has posed:
As they fly away from the buildings and toward the mountains, Drax and Starlord will notice that there are several vast valleys that are heavily inhabited on this side of the mountain range. And yes, there is quite the horde of fire demons and beasts haranguing the escaping population.

However, when reaching the mountain range, that's nothing compared to the ocean of fire on the /other/ side of the mountain range, reaching north and setting a great number of cities ablaze. And there is a key difference; at least in the closest air/star ports, there is no escape. Largely, they are cut off with strategic precision. And the battles here are more pitched, desperate even.

The beasts try to give chase, but the Milano is just too fast for them. They quickly fall behind and select other targets. Even so, there are other flocks that make the attempt, some even close enough to make contact, should Quill's piloting slip.

And on one mountain, there is a lone figure, burning.

Drax has posed:
Drax grumbles to himself as he heads back to the shooting pod, "Try not to kill any of the flying animals. They are cute," he says firmly.

He makes his way back and drops into the gunner's position. On the one hand, he mostly prefers going face to face with his enemies, spilling their blood everywhere, experiencing their screams of terror and basking in the raw power that is his own inhuman and superior prowess.

On the other hand, the guns make a neat rat-tat-tat zapping sound and it's fun to watch things explode.

Drax opens fire, streaming blasts with a haphazard but effective sweeping motion, showing far less care than he instructed Quill to take as he just shoots anything that comes across his screen, laughing as he does so. "Come and get yourself a portion!"

Star-Lord has posed:
"Goddamnnnnniiiitttt...." Star-Lord exclaims in a long shout as he does a barrel roll through a particular nasty swarm trying to keep steady for Drax to fire. When one 'dragon' gets near, there's a sharp turn that Drax and Star-Lord both feel in their stomachs, despite the inertial dampeners. The repeater at the front is cycled rapidly on automatic as he flies through the swarm, leaving the 'dragon' as the only real problem.

A problem which Drax is given a clear line of sight to by Star-Lord.

The lone figure gets his attention on the scanner briefly as he flies, "Yeah, that screams 'I'm arrogant and want everyone to know where the big bad is'. Why are the assholes always the first to think they're untouchable?" Star-Lord rhetorically muses as he turns the Milano in that direction, "Planets basically hell right now, and 500 credits says he's to blame."

Ares has posed:
Ares is fighting off and killing fire demons in droves! Looking like a literal whirlwind of death as he moves like lightning. Swords fly all around him and accurately strike their targets. By now, a small army of dead surround Ares. though the War God is surprised when he sees the Kryptonian streak through the sky and the Milano fights some fire dragons.

Well then.

Tgough the War God looks for Sindr....like he said he would just before the battle began

Power Girl has posed:
Drawing attention is what Power Girl is, frankly, best at. Each species of fire-monster has a level of caution associated with it- anything that is spewing flames is a little more dangerous than the others. Magical flame hurts and burns, and while the suit is rated to survive the surface of the sun, her arms are bare enough that she still won't find it pleasant. She has to play her cards right until the nature of these things is well-enough known.

This means that she's moving- never staying in one place, and not entirely willing to risk pulling the attention of cloying, sticking flames- napalm is never anyone's friend. The fact she's drawn a crowd means definitively that she's not just going to be punching her way out of it all.

Considering they're evacuating the planet- and also considering that the ships that catch flame doing the evacuating aren't -staying- that way after they leave atmosphere... The blonde has a few tricks up her sleeves- the irony of which is not lost on her, as she is well aware her suit has no sleeves.

First, she waits- hunkering down and getting ready, the immediate response to being crowded is to give the demons a round of -deafening- applause. Horizontally, the brick of a woman's hands separate and then reunite at many, -many- times the speed of sound. The resulting BOOM of both her hands breaking the sound barrier and then the sheer force of her gloved palms striking one another is enough to send the air around her out in a furious sphere of force. It also creates a small vaccuum, but that won't be putting out any fires at its size.

Sindr has posed:
So BOOM over and over, sending all but the really massive beasts tumbling. And yeah, at least some of that fire is probably warmer than Power Girl finds comfortable. Some of it probably hurts! But still, things are tossed, and left to pick themselves up again.

Meanwhile, Sindr is atop the mountain - waiting for the Milano to settle into place and its crew to come confront her, if that's what they're going to do. She keeps enough of an eye on them to be aware of an attack, but also spends some of it looking over one side of the mountain range or another, seeing how both sides of this war of hers is going.

Drax has posed:
Drax shouts back, "I do not gamble with you since that time you took me to the race track on Shi'ar-5! You knew that glumpoid was limping and you said nothing when I bet on it! NOTHING!"

He blasts a bit more until he feels satisfied that he's shot everything worth shooting. He unbuckles from the gunner seat and comes around again, "That woman is very fast. I don't think she can be a human. Humans are slow. So try to keep up," he says, going to the bay doors and preparing to open them up so he can jump into the fight close-up.

Star-Lord has posed:
"I couldn't help it you were too blind to see such an obvious medical condition, buddy! A limp is not a hard thing to miss." Star-Lord protests as the Milano is sent into a loop... before he turns the ship back around and heads right for Sindr. "If I land here, the Milano will get swarmed. I'll drop you off where le-baddie is and come back when the coast is clear." Star-Lord replies over the intercom. "It might /not/ be a baddie... but it's probably a baddie."

Star-Lord brings the ship down and tilts it just so for Drax to have a smooth landing as Star-Lord does a flyby. "Have at it!"

Ares has posed:
Ares Starts moving forwards from those lines of hallowed dead as the last of the evacuations seem to proceed. While many would think his job is done? He's War incarnate. He LOVES to fight. So, with a smile on his face, he lifts a hand towards the sky and thunderous lightning comes to his hands....and in one movement, he lets all that divine lightning channel through his body before he unleashes it at the horde in front of him, making a straight path as it annihilates a great number of footsoldiers and one of the dragons that flies in the sky.

The only good thing Ares ever got from his scumbag of a father, Zeus. But, beating other gods (but not killing them) has it's perks when they live up to the bet.

He makes his way forward even still, sword and mace in hand as he weaves a bloody and firy path in an attempt to get to Sindr...though it's gonna take Ares a while, since he's enjoying cutting through her army too much.

Power Girl has posed:
Power Girl has successfully handled the crowd around her, to some degree- knocking down and flat out shattering the closer demons- leaving, at the moment, only the larger and largest of beasts. This is where she shines- as the strength of a Kryptonian in sunlight is almost, if not impossible, to beat.

She pushes off with a rush of bistering wind, the sound snapping like a twig at her efforts. Even though she practically, if not literally, plows through one of the larger monsters... There seems to be something off about this. The horse seems almost endless, and that is something Power Girl cannot necessarily abide. Eventually, the smog will blot out the local star, and that will put her on a timer.

Her attention shifts, the heat rising from her suit and arms- almost blistering, and some of it can be felt. She's sweating- which tells her enough about the nature of the army here. Leaving Ares to do the crowd control- because he seems to be enjoying it- she takes off towards the mountain. Where the ship seemed to be headed- where Ares was cutting a swath towards, and where seemed to be the epicenter of this all.

She hits the ground around the time that Drax will- having noticed Sindr long after the Milano's approach.

Drax has posed:
Drax leaps free of the Milano, tumbling...well, not exactly gracefully, but he does land on his feet, pretty much, with his daggers drawn and muscles straining as he prepares to face off with this mysterious 'baddie'.

"Hello, fire monster! You're going to learn that not everything in this part of the universe burns! At least not at normal temperatures. If you can go higher than that, I might, I'm not really sure, but we might find out and if I do burn, I'm going to be very angry and punch my dagger through your face with a great deal of speed. Also, there is a flying woman approaching and an Earth knight, whatever that is. So, you should surrender now! Or don't because I would like to fight you. EITHER WAY!"

Sindr has posed:
Sindr strides casually toward Drax, her tail swishing slowly back and forth. "Hello, green man." she says in an amused tone, smiling at he who wishes to fight her. "If you would like to fight me, I will fight you. But is that all you hope to accomplish? It will not stop my claiming this system as mine. It will not stop those that knight protected from fleeing the planet. It will not stop me, or my hordes. And it will not stop your friend in that ship from getting mauled by that dragon over there.

And yeah, there's a really big dragon flying after the Milano right now; the blasted thing is fast and maneuverable, and shooting gout after gout of fire at the ship."

An eye is kept on the rapidly approaching Kryptonian, ready to defend herself from multiple vectors.

Ares, below, is not entirely heeded at this time; he's having too much fun anyway, even if his progress is a bit more rapid than a mortal could possibly make.

"So what do you hope to gain from fighting me?" she asks again, returning her attention to Drax. She towers over him at twelve feet, but she remains close enough to speak normally, and far enough that he has to close a gap to lay hand on her.

Ares has posed:
After sending a massive number of demons to early graves, a black blur soars into the sky! he reaches such speeds that the sky almost seems to crack from the sound of things.

Eventually, Ares lands //hard//on that mountaintop, standing up slowly with weapons in his hands. Crimson eyes stare forward at the hordes that try to stop him...but, his trip just got shorter, even if he has a small ways before he gets to Sindr and the others.

Mostly Because he wants to fight some more.

Power Girl has posed:
Power Girl can hear Sindr speak. When she arrives, with a heavy slam on the top of the mountain mere paces away, she starts speaking. "We hear that a lot." she begins, strolling forward with all of the confidence in the galaxy. "I tend to feel like it's a bluff. I'm pretty sure if we beat you right back where you came from, your whole thing here ends. Even if it doesn't..." she shrugs, then. By now, she's standing as close to Sindr as Drax is.

"This'll probably still feel -really- good."

Drax has posed:
Drax grins, "The yellow-haired woman in the tight clothes is right! It would be nice if you just admitted we will beat you senseless, but you never do, so we probably just have to do it. Because that's what we do. Well, it's what I do. I don't know her. I'm DRAX!" he says, shouting in her direction. "That's Quill. He likes to be called Star-Lord, even though that name is stupid. He's flying the ship. And I don't know that guy!" he says, gesturing towards Ares.

Sindr has posed:
"I promise you, it won't. My forces will remain, and need to be fought and routed as any military would." Sindr replies. A gesture to her left, where the people Ares protected are being routed and escaping, then a gesture to her right, where there is a /much/ more effective and decisive war going on, spanning a much larger area, "As you can see, it's not small."

"Since we're making introductions, I am Sindr, Daughter of Surtur and Queen of Muspelheim." she says then. "I am pleased to meet such noble, and yes I admit apparently powerful warriors. The man on his way, I might defeat with difficulty. Any of you... Well, I just don't know. All of you together." She shrugs. "Anyway, how are you called?" she asks Power Girl.

Finally, she reveals, "And that..." she says, pointing at the man making his way toward her, "...is Ares, the War God."

Ares has posed:
As the group apparently made introductions, Ares leaps into the mountaintop and lands hard enough to break the ground. he wore full-body, pitch black armor except for anything over or on his head. that long, tattered cape flowing from his shoulders as he looks at all present. "Sindr." he looked ready for another fight, even if his eyes find Power Girl and Drax, wondering if they are his enemies as well.

Power Girl has posed:
Power Girl takes a moment, looking to one side, then the other, as Sindr monologues for a moment. There's a quiet to her demeanor, an altogether nonplussed and unimpressed expression- as if this was an everyday occurrence. It... Kinda was, admittedly.

"So what you're saying is, we oughta do this fast."

The draw back on the following punch was swift, and there was a great deal of proper technique to it. Of all the Kryptonians, Power Girl probably has the meanest right cross- and it's headed straight for Sindr's midriff.

    Punchiest Kryptonian indeed.

Drax has posed:
Drax raises an eyebrow, "Muspelheim? That sounds like a soup. I'm pretty sure that's a soup."

And then Power Girl is throwing a punch and Drax is running in behind her to throw one of his own, "My turn!" he yells, charging in with what intends to be a clothesline across Sindr's body if she ducks to the side of Power Girl's punch. Of course, if she jumps to the other side, he will just be running by her quickly with his arm held out, but that's how it goes.

Sindr has posed:
"Ares." Sindr replies easily, letting the man make up his own mind about whom he decides to fight.

Notably, she does /not/ try to dodge the blow from Power Girl; it is braced for, with enough give in the giantess' stance to absorb some of the shock, and let the armor and her inherent durability do the rest. She /is/ Surturs daughter and Heir, after all, so she's far from a pushover.
She skidded back, so she didn't move into Drax's path the way he might have intended. Instead, she flicks a fiery dagger at his face and sticks her tail in his path to see if he trips over it. Another is flung at Power Girl.

Ooo, scary magic fire daggers! Mind, these daggers are giant sized, so....

Ares has posed:
Ares watches the battle begin, though he seems to stay where he is. His eyes taking notice of who is fighting who...only for Power Girl and Drax to make the first move. Why does Ares do nothing for right now? Well, the answer is simple.

He's feeding off of the violence, and he turns to watch as the civilian ships leave the planet. He likely has more worshippers now because of his honest actions, though he glances back to the group.

His task was finished...and he already told Sindr during the parley that he didn't wish to fight her. and so he won't.

Power Girl has posed:
Unluckily for Sindr- who probably isn't going to have the easiest time fending off the two of them together already- Power Girl is taking this quite seriously. This means that there isn't the.... Normal game of footsies. The plying of strength and speed and the caution not to shatter a city's worth of buildings just by flying through it too quickly.

In a blur of movement, Power Girl is just a few feet to the side- unwilling to play around with a seemingly conjured dagger of fire. It reeks of magic to her, after all.

The dagger goes flying by, and Power Girl pays it little mind beyond that- instead accelerating heavily towards Sindr.

This hit is a sweeping left hook, delivered at just under the speed of sound. Part of this is a test- to see just how quickly Sindr can react, and just how much the giant woman can take.

Drax has posed:
Drax ducks the dagger but does trip over the tail. That doesn't mean he's dumb, he's just narrow-minded. Like a charging rhino sort of thing. Only green.

He at least rolls with the fall, pulling himself up again and giving a grunt of irritation, "I hate it when they have extra limbs," he mutters, this time turning and leaping into the air, drawing his daggers and preparing to drive them right into said tail.

Sindr has posed:
Well Sindr can apparently move pretty fast as it stands. She's big, but she's not ridiculously slow. She takes a step back, which in her case is not inconsiderable when talking about close combat distances.

Drax, bless his heart, starts out with the best intentions of stab-it-ing Sindr's tail, but she reaches out to snatch him from the air and thrust him in the path of Power Girl's blow. No tail for Drax.

And then there's insult to injury - she breathes fire. Whether it catches, let alone burns either of them is another matter altogether.

Ares has posed:
Ares starts to walk away. Let the heroes do their work. After all, he fulfilled his promise to the people of this planet. That, and Drax and Power Girl were more than a match for the Queen of Musphelheim. But, he'll keep an eye on the situation in the event that they cannot take the fire demon queen out.

Power Girl has posed:
Most things tend to happen to Power Girl in slow-motion. The flung Drax, though, is timed just right that at her speed, all she can really -do- is pull her punch. It's still coming, but there's a momentary pause that means the momentum of her strike isn't going to be... Quite as devastating. She can't really spare Drax the attention- and hopefully, if he's competing on this level, he's not going to be completely destroyed by said hit.

The flurry of movement changes gears, splitting the sound barrier with a deafening crack- the noise of which will hit the ears of those present well -after- Power Girl's next maneuver. The fire is quite smart- the magic nature of it has Power Girl looking to find a new avenue of attack, which makes her... Well, really predictable. Specifically- Drax had gone for the tail before, and since PG couldn't risk going for Sindr's front, she has to go for the rear... But, she's not without her own tricks.

The attack from the rear is a feint of sorts- meant to look like she's going to shoulder-check the giant. The feint of it is that Power Girl is expecting the tail- which she's ready to catch.

Drax has posed:
Drax can, indeed, take the hit, although he can take it a lot better since PG pulled it than if he took her full Kryptonian strength right in his hibungus (technical anatomy term). Still, it hurts like hell and it hurts a lot more than anything has hurt him in a long time so he still lets out a savage wail as it's hit with that blow, "OH WOW YOU ARE STRONG!" he yells as he feels the impact smacking him back. He would do a move of his own, but, y'know, he goes mostly limp, enough that Sindr drops him with the presumption that he's out of commission. Which he isn't. Well, not entirely. But that's gonna leave a mark. Ouch.

Sindr has posed:
Almost a pity, in Sindr's mind, the green man didn't go flying into the distance - but then, what is this? A comic book?

Probably to her regret shortly, she does have enough arrogance to just leave the man lying there without further molestation. Unfortunately for Power Girl, having a tail means that one is quite aware of how vulnerable to attack it is. Having a father like Surtur means that one is more than likely /painfully/ aware that it can be used against oneself.

Sindr's tactic is, instead of using the tail - especially considering Power Girl's strength - to abruptly conjure a fiery spear pointing at the Kryptonian. It's a long spear; long enough that whether shoulder blocking or going for the tail, Power Girl risks impalement rushing in.

Sindr has posed:
It should also be noted that Sindr does not turn around; she is glancing over her shoulder, with the spear jutting behind her at Power Girl.

Power Girl has posed:
Truthfully, Power Girl is fast enough that had she known Sindr was capable of this particular tactic, she'd have been able to change tactic. Doing so would risk Drax's safety- because pushing beyond Mach X in atmosphere can get dangerous for everyone but herself- but she'd be physically -capable.- Sadly, while she -is- fast enough, she is not -psychic- enough.

However, a snap decision is made at that point- a light twist to spare her vital organs, and an internal prayer hoping that her suit holds, and Power Girl keeps going all-in. A fair chunk over the speed of sound, and through the bite of pain that is more intense than she's happy with... Power Girl delivers another right cross, aimed directly at the base of the giant's spine- The kind of strike that'd create a terrifying shockwave of its own...

And from which Power Girl isn't going to be directly standing. The spear's conjured blade bites into her side, tearing open her suit and spilling a generous helping of bright red Kryptonian essence onto the mountaintop. It doesn't look to be fatal, but it certainly isn't feeling nice, as the powerful blonde staggers to a skidding knee post-punch.

Drax has posed:
Drax pulls himself face first from the dirt, shaking his head to clear the cobwebs. He looks up to see the two figures in conflict, Power Girl gushing blood from a wound. Part of him at least has the sense not to yell at the sight of it, since Sindr is obviously a little distracted by all the grievous wounding and such.

He still isn't quite 100 percent but that's never stopped him before as he flings himself forward to throw a hard chop block with his shoulder, trying to drive it into Sindr's knee and help take down her foundation.

Sindr has posed:
Ker-POW. To be honest, there's a lot of thundering and rumbling at this point, which really started with the first sonic boom that Power Girl evoked on the mountaintop due to the avalanches that start on the nearby mountains as well as this one. Lots of rocks, plenty of destruction below which does nothing to inhabitants unless some one decided to take refuge in the mountains, which would not be wise.

Sindr is definitely stunned for a moment by Power Girl's attack, as getting hit with that much power tends to cause problems! Then comes Drax, hammering into her knee. All this illicits a growl - a pained one - from the giantess. "Indeed you are powerful! Absolutely /wonderful/!" she cries, sounding elated even in spite of the pain. In spite of her armor cracking noticably.

With that one leg driven back, Sindr's foundation isn't the best - even so she reaches out to snatch Drax up by his head - well sized for her hand - to use him as a bludgeon to smack Power Girl with a backhand swing.

Power Girl has posed:
There is always a risk when fighting Kryptonians. It's mostly a risk in regards to what state you're going to put them in. A fight is easiest against her kind when the fight is going well for them- but if you make a Kryptonian desperate, or angry... Then the scales tend to shift. Not always, but... Usually. Power Girl had figured she landed a rather impressive blow, at the cost of cutting herself open. She figured that'd stagger Sindr for longer- but no such mercy.

Worse still, Sindr's injuries are a little less daunting than Power Girl's, and she's able to pick up Drax and treat him like a billy club. Striking her with Drax may be worse for Drax than anything else, but that doesn't mean that the blonde doesn't go flying, rolling partway with the strike so as not to be an immovable object to the Draxbludgeon's Relatively Stoppable Force.

She hits the ground and rolls for half a moment, but when she lifts her head, her eyes aren't... Comforting, anymore. They glow with a burning fury- an anger barely restrained, the kind of reckless cutting loose that only happens so rarely. No civilians at risk. Drax is tough. Sindr can probably take a few hits.

Once again the sound of her sonic boom will hit Sindr and Drax's ears long after Power Girl does. This time, though, it's not a close race. She outpaces the sound of her assault by a factor of seven, her initial impact aiming to be right at Sindr's core. This hit is a Mach-Speed Haymaker, meant to stagger Sindr so that Power Girl can follow up with a truly incredible hammerfist- the sheer amount of physical strength she's putting into these hits is approaching the level that could shatter the crust of the planet they're standing on.

It is reckless, and it is furious, and Power Girl is figuring that Sindr won't last long under its weathering- all she has to do is keep connecting.

Drax has posed:
Drax twists around in that grip after he's used as a bludgeon against Power Girl, his legs flailing out as he's whipped. He manages to get free just as Power Girl starts to charge. Realizing that Sindr might be fast enough to avoid even that speed of a sh ot, he makes sure she takes PG's blow by cause a distraction, driving his daggers into the fire demon's wrist while literally screaming "LOOK AT ME RIGHT NOW I AM STABBING YOU!" at the top of his rather impressive lungs.

Sindr has posed:
The screaming... well, let's just say the distraction works for one reason or another. Sindr is definitely stabbed and there is definitely a growl of pain, but all that gets interrupted.

First, Sindr's armor is finally shattered with that first blow from Power Girl. It finishes cracking and just flat flies apart! Sindr isn't able to defend against this, or the next blow that comes. She does, however, burst into flames. FWOOOM! Now, whether it was fast enough to catch Power Girl at all remains to be seen, because the dust hasn't quite settled yet.

When it does, there's a rather large molten rock pool where Sindr was. The mountain is trembling. There are peals of thunder in the air and shockwaves that are flowing outward. It's bad enough for anyone caught in them, but worse on the backlash that'll come eventually. The winds... won't be favorable for a while.

Power Girl has posed:
The world is officially matriculated- everything is in slow motion, as Power Girl temporarily works her speed more than her physical power. She has sent Sindr fleeing, to some extent- a thing that she does not necessarily understand. She's not the mystic type, to be fair, so she isn't going to be following. The message has, for now, been sent- either that, or Sindr is dead.

In the space of a second or so, Power Girl turns from the flaming woman- outrunning the plasma with some level of hyper-focus in order to move to, catch, and then pull Drax out of the range of whatever heated explosion is going to occur. In her hands, Drax is essentially weightless, and soon after she's pulled him out- assuming he does not resist in some way- she sets him down on the mountaintop some distance from the molten slag that is where their opponent was.

Drax has posed:
Drax finds himself on a mountaintop suddenly, after a massive explosion, with a beautiful and shapely blond woman hovering over him. He slaps himself across the face a few times. "I am not dead," he says, letting out a whoosh of breath. "I was frightened for a moment. Although you would be a good angel, I think. As long as you don't hit me again. Ow," he says, then bends over and strokes over his bruised ribcage, "You hit like a Skrull whiskey."

Sindr has posed:
As Sindr promised, while all this has been going on, the war still goes on below. If the people Ares defended have not finished evacuating, they are nearly done. The flying beasts that were caught in the shockwaves have not yet recovered, but when they do, those that survived will take to the air again and join their fellows on the other side of the mountain. Those remaining on the ground will continue to raid and pillage, in spite of having no one to slaughter.

On the other side of the mountain, the war rages on ferociously. The nation to the north is losing, and there are other lands on this world that are likewise afflicted. Routing them all will take... well, lots of effort.

Sindr may have lost the battle... but, has she won the war for this planet?
