Mind if I Punch You in the Face
Date of Scene: 26 October 2018
Location: Unknown
Synopsis: Titans argue with each other about other Titans. No pizza occurs. That's probably the problem.
Cast of Characters: Stardust, Amarok, Robin (Wayne)

Stardust has posed:
Holoninjas get boring after a while. It's not that the Danger Room simulations aren't good, but they're a touch predictable. A live opponent forces you to think more quickly, and helps to avoid falling into the trap of reacting to every opponant the same. On the other hand, hitting holoninjas does come with the risk of accidental mutilations. The logic, then, of asking perhaps the least breakable of the Titans to help with a bit of technique training, is impeccable.

That's the story Amarok has given to Stardust, anyway. Who knows what motivations are truly hidden by that mask. It's enough to get her to agree to turn up at least, and so she does, only ten minutes later than the appointed time. She walks into the Danger Room, in full uniform (at least the variant-of-the-day), eating a donut. "Moony Moon Moon. I'm here. What's up? No attacking me until I finished my donut."

Amarok has posed:
The Danger Room is already on, the landscape a desolate war-torn middle eastern village, the sounds of gun fire and screaming far off in the distance. Written on the side of a nearby building in what appears to be chalk, are the words 'Come find me'. Amarok himself, is nowhere to be found.

Stardust has posed:
Stardust stops, looks around, sniffs dismissively, and munches on her donut as she reads the chalked message. Standing in the simulated sand of a shattered desert village, she shrugs, and concentrates on finishing her donut while the gunfire and screaming continues. When she's finally done, she licks her fingers, rolls her neck, squares her shoulders and looks around. Then she marches over to the console and taps away.

The simulation pauses. The buildings all become wireframe. "Found you," Colette announces, hopping up to sit perched on the edge of the console. She slings her backpack off her back, unzips it and pulls out a water bottle. "Was it a test?" she asks, as she concentrates on getting a drink.

Amarok has posed:
When the simulation pauses, and the landscape turns to an easily seen through wireframe, Amarok is still nowhere to be found. "Of a sort." Comes monotonally through the Danger Room's speakers, followed a good ten seconds later by Amarok through the Danger Room's main door. He looks down at the Tower's resident frenchy in what can be assumed to be annoyance.

Stardust has posed:
"I take it I passed the. Yay me."

Colette's response is delivered deadpan, as she unscrews the top of her water bottle. She glances over towards Amarok with an arched eyebrow, then takes a swig, replaces the cap and puts the bottle away in her pack, which she drops to the floor by the console, all before paying attention to Amarok again.

"Wasn't there something about mountains and Mohammed?" Stardust asks, drolly. "Anyway, that's like tactics. Using the landscape and environment to your advantage. The environment here is the Danger Room. It has an off switch."

Amarok has posed:
Amarok returns the deadpan with his own practiced monotone, "You failed miserably." Whether this is banter, or him being a Judgy-Jason, who can say? At the question, he tilts his head to the side, ".......Who?" He asks flatly, letting a few awkward seconds pass before moving on, "....The test was to determine your ability to read a battlefield, and move through it without being distracted. So that you can do so in the field, where there isn't just a simple off switch." He says in presumed Judgy-Jason mode.

Stardust has posed:
"You should have said," Colette replies. "I mean look at it like this. You set a test. The rules were 'come find me'." She points in the direction of the building that had the chalked message on, though now it's a set of wireframes and the chalk is no longer visible. "See? And here you are. So I win. I read the battlefield in an instant. It said 'I'm a holographic projection, switch me off.' And I did. It's all a matter of perspective, Moon Moon."

Amarok has posed:
"Your perceptions can lie to you. And acting like a petulant brat can get you killed." He says coldly, ".....But that's not why I really called you here." He steps in further, allowing the door to close, "You were involved in an incident here at the Tower recently, it caused a minor quake. I want to know more about what happened."

Stardust has posed:
Stardust stares at Amarok in silence for a few moments, then sighs. She flips a switch on the console, turning the scene back into full detail mode, though still paused, and hops to her feet.

"Buildings," Colette says, pointing. "Poorly constructed brickwork, wood, cheap concrete. Best entry route: through the walls." She points in three directions, between clusters of buildings. "Sight lines, poor. Answer, fly. See what's going on. Weaponry? Gunfire. Some of it automatic. Nothing heavier. Possibly mortars or small missile launchers hidden in buildings. Flying may trigger a response from any heavy weaponry on site. If so, I no longer need to look for it." She points randomly in the distance. "Screams. Investigate. Stop them, or encourage more of them, depending on the circumstance. Better?"

Was there something about minor quakes? Colette's forgotten already.

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Damian had been gone for some time. Tonight, he made a return to the tower, if not only temporarily.

Damian had info of some Titans in the Danger Room and moved to at least inform someone of what his plans were.

The doors of the danger room open, and Robin slips in in front of the active simulation, as many others have done before. Taking a gander at what was going on before he said anything.

Amarok has posed:
Amarok maintains his unmoving glare on Colette as she goes through her breakdown, ".....Much." He says after she's gone through her spiel. As the Danger Room's door opens again, Amarok's head snaps to turn it's glare on the intruder, eyeing Damian for a few seconds before turning his gaze back on Colette, "Dont think I didn't notice that you didn't answer me..."

Stardust has posed:
"Of course, someone less alert than me wouldn't have noticed the off switch," Stardust comments. "'Cos that really is the most important feature of the environment. I think whoever set this test up needs to work on their powers of observation." She winks at Amarok through the eyehole of her mask.

Damian's arrival elicits a nod and a wave. "Angry Bird. You're back. We have news, but so do you. What's going on with..." she pauses and looks sideways at Amarok. "Uh. Maybe another time. So the portal turned up again. Sort of."

Stardust turns back to Amarok. "Oh I did answer you, can't you take a hint?"

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Damian remains as deadpan as possible. "Don't let me interrupt." He comments, looking to Amarok and Stardust.

"I won the tournament, and found out that there was an attack on Wayne Tower when I was away." He seems quite matter-of-fact about all of it.

Amarok has posed:
Amarok silently stares down Colette for several long and awkward seconds, ".........I can ask you, or I can ask Raven. Your choice." He finaly says before turning to Damian, his head tilting slightly, ".....You actually went to that?"

Stardust has posed:
"You just did ask me, " Stardust points out levelly to Amarok. "And you're still breathing, so you made the right choice who to ask. It's nothing to be concerned about, but it will be if you keep asking. Just let it drop, Moon Moon. Picking at it will not help. Trust me on this."

Stardust holds her gaze on Amarok for a few moments, staring where she assumes his eyes are, then turns to Damian, her expression softening. "Congratulations. I guess that mean you're officially the world's best figher or something, huh? So. The Wayne thing. How uh... how did that go down? Is...was anyone hurt? If there's anything I can do to help with that, let me know."

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
"I did not only go, I confirmed what I knew all along. I am the best combatant in the world." Damian offers, his boasting less opinion and simply sounding like a known fact.

"I must focus on Gotham until we solve what's going on." Damian comments, crossing his arms and leaning against the Danger Room wall.

Amarok has posed:
Amarok looks Damian over for a few seconds before responding in a somehow even less enthused voice than his normal monotone, "......If you say so...." He then turns back to Colette, and his tone returns to it's usual plucky emotionless deadpan, "I dont let anything drop until I get a straight answer in full. Just ask any hood in Gotham."

Stardust has posed:
"So where did Thor, Superman and Wonder Woman come in the contest?" Colette can't help asking impishly, though she does give Damian a wink. At least she hasn't claimed that since her Red X battle ended in a draw that makes her the world's joint best combatant. Though she could at any moment. "Yeah... Not the exactly Gotham's best detective here, but if you need me chasing down leads or punching faces, I got you."

Colette turns to Amarok, sighing slowly and pinching her nose. "Straight answer in full. Okay. Straight answer in full, LET IT DROP. There was an accident. Don't pick at scabs. If you ask Raven, you'll embarrass her. And I'll make you eat your mask. Clear?"

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Damian looks highly unamused at Dan's statement. Piercing gaze moving towards Colette. "I'll be in touch should it be needed. Red Robin and Nightwing are working on it all. The three of us are on the case." He adds, raising an eyebrow when Colette threatens Dan.

Amarok has posed:
Amarok turns and stares down Colette, presumably unblinking, what with how the mask's eyes dont blink, "......Alright, fine." He turns away, "I suppose I'll just have to ask Raven, and tell her you told me to ask." He then starts for the door, apparently intending to go wake her up to ask right now.....What a douche.

Stardust has posed:
Stardust beats Amarok to the door the way only someone who flies can, in a ballistic arc straight over his head. She lands in the doorway, blocking it. "Moon moon. I am not joking now," she says, her expression agreeing very clearly with her words. "I told you what happened. An accident. Something private. You know private? It happened. Nobody got hurt. It is over and done with. If you ask Raven about it, you will make things worse. Rae is... Rae is in a sensitive state at the moment. Do not upset her with this. She doesn't need it, you don't need it, we don't need it. Is that clear?"

Without waiting Amarok's response, Stardust glances towards Robin. "Three Robins is good. If you need someone who can fly or soak up gunfire, you know how to contact me. I'll be there. Remember, the Titans are kind of family too."

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
"What happened with Raven?" He asks, not caring about privacy here. Robin May have been away but he was still the angry bird. "I'm guessing it has something to do with the portal."

Amarok has posed:
Amarok stops and resumes his eternal staredown with Colette. When she turns her attention to Damian, he once more begins moving for the door, not affording her any response.

Stardust has posed:
Colette slams her hands out sideways, blocking the doorframe. She seems to have no intention of letting anyone leave just yet. It's Damian she speaks to though.

"That's a complicated question," she tells Robin. "We got a new portal yesterday. Weird one, up on the roof. Something about it made Rae upset. Like in a very non-Raven way. She's not talking yet. There was also a voice. Said some stuff, mostly to Vorp." She gives a slight shake of her head. "What Moon Moon is referring to is something else. Rae and I were having a private conversation. Moon Moon is attempting to interfere. He thinks he's helping, and he's very much not. Whatever the thing with the portal has her freaked out about, Rae does not need Moon Moon adding to that with goofballing at her about things that are none of his business and will make her uncomfortable. He doesn't have the sense to understand that you don't poke at fresh wounds. He is not taking sage advice on the matter from a team-mate. He needs to wise up here. Fast."

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Damian looks a bit put off by the actions of his teammates. "Give it time. But Raven should explain further. If it would be enough to scare her, it should be taken seriously and we need to have all the information we can get."

Robin steps under Colette's arm, about time for him to get back to Gotham. "I won't be around for some days. If I'm needed, call me on the T-coms." He advises, and gives a directive. "Allow Raven time enough to gather herself. If she hasn't by the time I am back, I will ask her myself."

Amarok has posed:
Amarok looks down at the diminutive detective as he starts making his way out, ".....As you command." He says after a brief pause before following suit and sliding under Colette's other arm, albeit with a bit more effort than Damian needed. Colette herself isn't given the time of day. Seems he may be upset.

Stardust has posed:
The 'As you command' Amarok gives to Robin is enough for Colette, and she lifts her arms out of the way to save him the effort of crawling under. "She told me some things about herself," she offers to Amarok's back, perhaps as a minor peace offering. "I won't share any more than I'd share the things you've told me in confidence. We need her to talk about the portal. But you're barking up the wrong tree with this, Amarok.

It seems Colette has hasn't quite finished with Damian either. "Robin. One thing, before you go. Swear to me you have nothing to do with these portals. "

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Robin looks to both Colette and Dan. "The portals are our main concern. If it is relevant to the portals, we should investigate. If not, it's flotsam."

After turning to leave, Damian turns again, looking to Colette. "-I- have nothing to do with the portals." He says with confidence.

Amarok has posed:
Amarok just keeps walking, apparently having had enough of his favorite team mates for one night.
