Cast of Characters: Blink, Rage

Blink has posed:
It has been a while since Blink visited Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. It isn't a place she knows well, only by reputation. She had come there seeking answers, to find out if what she has been told for the last few years of her existance is true. Is it a place of lies? Or one of hope?

On her last visit, she had met Andrea Jackson. It was someone she had heard of, even in Genosha. She wasn't as popular there as she was in the United States though her recent admission of being a mutant had caused a spike in her sales amongst the teen mutants there.

As the portal opens with that strange *blink* sound, the Genoshan shoreline can be seen. Then Blink steps through, feet sinking into the grass at the mansion as the portal shuts behind her. She has a regular acoustic guitar hanging on a sling, tucked mostly behind her back opposite the quiver of javelins. She always has those.

Likely somewhere, the alarms are going off.

Rage has posed:
As the alarms go off, Andrea bolts out quickly, dressed in her training uniform that she was wearing on her way to the gym for a workout. Yellow and black unstable spandex that is designed to shift along with her wolfy body when she has to. No more naked popstar for the TMZ to sneak shots of and harass her later. As she spies the purple colored mutant, her eyes widen. "Clarice!" She has a good memory as well it seems. "Hey! Long time no see." She reaches into the inside of the door and pops in a code to kill the alarm.

Blink has posed:
If there is one thing she has learned, it is not to make any sudden moves on someone else's property. How? Because people should never do it around those who have trained her so she figures it is best to show the same respect here. Upon seeing Andrea, Blink gives her a bright smile without that usual shyness. "It took a little longer than I expected to get back over here. I hoped I'd see you though." She flinks her gaze at Andrea's choice of attire and tilts her head but says nothing. She isn't in a place to be making fashion judgements about others.

Rage has posed:
"It's all good! I"m just glad to see you here again. I was about to hit the gym." Andrea says as she steps in to throw her arms around her for a quick hug. "So what's going on in Genosha? Everything okay? I don't catch up on the news often but I have been thinking about you now and again. I was hoping you'd get the itch to hang out with us more."

Blink has posed:
The hug surprises Blink but she returns it in kind. "Everything is good there. More of the same." She glances to the mansion, awaiting a swarm of people to come tell her to get off the lawn. Literally. No sign. Apparently the code Andrea entered sent the cavalry back to wherever they might have been. She focuses on the young woman before her. "I was hoping to spend a bit more time here. Maybe talk to some of them, find out more. Think that would be possible? Or not a good idea?" Immediately that lack of confidence is there with her verbal backpedaling.

Rage has posed:
"That would be an awesome idea. Xavier's is open to all mutants who want to learn and feel safe." Andrea says with a grin on her face. "And you can meet all of my friends, and we can go shopping together, and go swimming. Our pool is fucking huuuuuge. Also the boys are pretty cute, you know, if you're into boys. The teachers are super amazing too. My counselor is Mister Summers. He has been helping me out with my powers and my projects for charity."

Blink has posed:
The gushing has Blink taking a tiny step backwards. Andrea is so sincere and obviously pleased with this place. The idea of shopping has a double edged sword. While it would be interesting, she's not sure that this country is as easy to go shopping in while being an obvious mutant. "Boys?" Now that sounds terrifying. "I mean I like them but no, not a good idea." She shakes her head negatively, completely dismissing that as quickly as possible. "But I would like to meet those people you feel are good to talk to. Your friends. Counselor you said?"

Rage has posed:
"What do you mean it wouldn't be a good idea? We're a school full of mutants, with mutant /boys/. Boys who have the same fucked up esteem issues that we do." She said we, as in, Andrea has them too. "And you're super hot too, Clarice, I bet you'd have a line of guys wanting to give you flowers or buy you dinner." As far as the rest goes, she nods her head. "I can set you up with a meeting with him. If you want, you can so crash the night with me and stay at my place. I have a room here at the school, and I also got like a million dollar apartment on the fifteenth story or something in Manhattan. It's so swank. I have like five shower heads adn you can fit like ten people in there if you were into that."

Blink has posed:
Blink blinks. Literally. "Why would you want to fit ten people in a shower?" Then she shakes her head again. "I don't know if my caretaker would like me even thinking about boys. No one is interested in me in Genosha. I don't really know how to talk to a guy." She gives a little shrug, the guitar shifting a little behind her. "If you are sure I won't be imposing, I'd be glad to stay at either. I brought this." She pats the guitar. "I'm just learning but I thought maybe... That's really kind of arrogant to think you might want to play guitar together."

Rage has posed:
"Talking to a guy is easy. It's like talking to me. You just say Hi. You start a conversation. You get to know each other's interests, and then you see if there is any attraction." Andrea laughs softly. "And mostly guys just talk to us first, so they do all the hard work." She gives her a grin. "Who is your caretaker? You could bring her over as well." She gives a long stretch of her body. "You want to play the guitar with me?" She grins. "Cool beans. I'm down. What have you learned so far?"

Blink has posed:
The discomfort of that question is obvious as Blink looks aside and folds her arm across her midriff. "I don't think he would be welcome here," is what she says to the invitation to bring her caretaker over to visit. "He has history with some folks." She keeps her eyes averted but then focuses back when the conversatinon turns to music. "Oh, just a few chords. I watch videos on the internet and learn that way. But I want to get better at it."

Rage has posed:
"Well, maybe things can get patched up, right?" Andrea says with a grin. "Smiling increases face value and all. We could try and fix things." She gives another stretch, then heads into the house as she motions her to follow. "Come on, let's head to my room so I can snag my guitar and throw on some real clothes. I look like a superhero or something like this."

Blink has posed:
Blink thinks about Victor Creed. She thinks about him showing up on the doorstep of the mansion. She imagines him smiling. Not the smile he has for her with the affection. No, this would be a more feral snarl of a smile she suspects. "Maybe not so much on the smile. One step at a time. Let's see how they accept me visiting first."

Rage has posed:
"I'm sure no one will mind you visiting." Andrea chuckles as she leads her through the mansion. Up the stairs to the girl's dorms she leads her, then opens one up and steps in. She obviously has a roomie, who is Cindy, as her room is decorated different than her side. Andrea's side has expensive designer clothes in a close, with a new dresser, a fancy computer and a new twin bed with plush white sheets. There is also a picture of Mason on the wall, the kind you'd get out of a magazine with little hearts stuck to it. Her guitar is against the wall that she picks up.

Blink has posed:
As Blink enters, she glances around the room. She takes in the difference in each side of the room, putting two and two together to realize that there is a roommate. Hopefully that person won't mind a visitor. The fancy clothes, the new stuff and the fancy sheets are all noted. Blink doesn't live like a pauper but it is a bit above the level of anything she's personally seen. "Wow. This is nice." But then she looks a the picture of Mason and she grins a little. "What's this?" she asks, pointing at the picture.

Rage has posed:
"That's Mason Steel. He is a popstar also. Has a ton of music out there and is just as famous. He's my boyfriend. Also a mutant too. Got rock powers. He's here somewhere I'm sure... probably flirting with some of the freshmen to see if they'll do his math homework." Andrea says as she leans in and kisses the picture on the lips. "See, mutant boys can be cute too."

Blink has posed:
"Really?" That isn't one she is familiar with but perhaps because he hadn't come out as a mutant. Blink tended to have a limited experience with American artists. With Andrea, it was all about the mutancy that had drawn Blink to her music. "He's cute," she says as she giggles when Andrea kisses the picture. She pulls her guitar around to the front then unslings her quiver of javelins. It is set down on the floor. Then she settles on the edge of the bed, setting the guitar down so it leans against her leg. "He's a mutant?" Not an obvious one.

Rage has posed:
"Yeah. Rock powers. He can kinda control hard substances... pull rocks out of the ground. He's not very good with his powers because he's not like... 'out' like we are.. and he's sorta scared of himself. He's like a totally different guy on the stage though." Andrea slings her guitar about her shoulders, then sits on the bed. "I think they call it geokinetics or something. Moving rocks with your mind."

Blink has posed:
Pulling up her guitar, Blink settles it in place atop her lap and puts her fingers in the right places. "I can understand being scared of powers, especially if they are hard to control. I still am uncomfortable using my teleportation sometimes." She glances over. "Why doesn't he come out like you did?"

Rage has posed:
"Because people hate mutants, and he's scared. I was attacked a few times by a hate group called The Reavers after I came out as a mutant and a rights activist. I'm very vocal and I'm all about mutant power and equality and some people don't like it. He's scared to get hurt. He's scared for me. He's just.. not very .. ah .. macho." Andrea admits as she starts to work at her guitar in a few strums.

Blink has posed:
"Move to Genosha. There mutants are the majority. The humans are the minorities," Blink points out as she strums an awkward chord on the guitar. "I was taught by my caretaker that you shouldn't accept people treating you badly for being a mutant." She holds up a hand, looking at the unusual color. "Not like I have a way to really hide what I am. So he wanted to be sure I knew I should be proud."

Rage has posed:
"You should totally be proud. I think you're cute. I don't worry about what people think of me, though I'm not 'out' in regards to my powers." Andrea admits as she nods her head. "If the world found out I could turn into a werewolf they'd probably not like me as much as they do. I'm huge with the teenage crowd for my music. I'm lucky I guess in that regard ..but others in my position are not so. It's why I donate so much to mutant causes and my charities. To help those who can't look like me and pass it off."

Blink has posed:
"I see," Blink says although she's not sure she does. Things to think about and mull over. She does strum the strings once again absently then she glances over again. "You said you were going to work out and that's why you are dressed up like a superhero or villain? What sort of workout is that?" she asks curiously.

Rage has posed:
"Oh, you know.. uh.. cardio...but as a wolf. I was going to get on a treadmill on four paws and run." Andrea laughs softly. "It is a lot harder than it looks. Sometimes I forget where my paws are supposed to go."

Blink has posed:
Blink laughs. "Okay, I am now thankful that isn't my power. Probably works better if you don't think about it and instead just go with your gut." She puts her fingers on the strings again and hits a sour note. She makes a face. "Okay, how do you get this one right?" And with that, she coaxes Andrea into a guitar lesson. For free. With a pop star. This might be a nice visit after all.
