Cast of Characters: Phoenix, Rage

Phoenix has posed:
After her encounter with Doctor Strange, Jean had some time to contemplate her decision, and what may still come to pass, before electing to end her self enforced exile. Anyone who happened to be outside might see her descending from the sky, to land in the backyard. Her body engulfed with a slowly dying fiery aura, before disappearing entirely as her feet touch the ground.

Rage has posed:
Having been out in the backyard working on some homework, Andrea glances up from her notebook filled with math notes and calculations. Pushing herself upwards, she squints at the woman coming from the sky until she finally recognizes her. "Miss Grey!" She calls out with wide eyes. "Hey.. is everything okay? I.. we haven't seen you in awhile."

Phoenix has posed:
"No, everything is not okay," Jean murmurs bitterly, as she turns to face Andrea, "but I want to make it okay. Can you tell me why Laura left us?" She asks, though considering the lack of quizzical expression on her face, she may have an idea.

Rage has posed:
".. No. I have no clue why. No one tells me anything. I've just been .. um... studying... New Mutants aren't really a team anymore ever since the guys decided they didn't want to do it anymore, so it's just been me working with Mister Summers in the Danger Room and training. I miss her though, Laura." Andrea rubs the back of her neck. "What's going on? What's wrong?" She pauses. "What can I do to help out?"

Phoenix has posed:
"I'll tell you, she said everyone left her, and nobody cared about her," Jean remarks, without a sense of emotion behind her words, "I was part of it, but I had to remove myself from the Mansion, I was a risk to everyone. I talked to her through astral projection, but she thought I was a ghost and freaked out." Jean shakes her head, and reaches to embrace Andrea, "I'm sorry about what happened to the New Mutants, I guess more direct involvement from faculty would have been healthy. Next time I'll name someone other than Emma to supervise such a team, if it comes to pass again." She leaves the last question unanswered at first, before quipping, "largely a concern for anyone with telepathic gifts. Everyone else is 'mostly' safe for the time being. If all the telepaths in the world can't resolve it, however, I'm very much afraid for our world..."

Rage has posed:
"Wait, what? No one left her! I asked Laura to be my roommate. I've gone shopping with her. I was teaching her how to be normal. She asked me to. She's one of my best friends." Andrea says with shock in her voice, eyes widening. "Why couldn't she just talk to me if she felt that way?" Finding herself hugged, she leans in to return it. "But, what's going on? I was on tour during summer vacation, I come back and everyone is like... gone... Emma is chain smoking and Mason thinks she's acting weird. He wants to spy on her." She says with a wrinkle of her nose. "Maybe I'm super oblivious but.. but.. what happened?" At the last sentence, she asks weakly, "Are we all in danger? Are we going to die?"

Phoenix has posed:
"That's what she felt, I don't know why or how," Jean sighs as Andrea relates a different story, "maybe there was misunderstanding. She is very different, and reads cues differently." Jean shrugs at the question, "she is quick to act, doesn't like to discuss what she thinks is pointless. If she felt unwanted, her solution was to leave us. She is currently with the Amazons at the Themyscirian Embassy. Diana came to confront me about it, thinking I've neglected the Laura or worse...I did not enjoy learning about what happened."

"Emma was not herself, I believe she's recovering now, but I'd still advise to stay away from her," Jean shares with Andrea, looking deep in thoughts as she does. "There is a very powerful enemy that is attacking all telepaths, he essentially took over the Astral Plane. It's a fight for survival right now." Jean smiles at that last question, "as of now, only telepaths are in danger, so you should be fine. I think all non-telepaths are safe for now."

Rage has posed:
"I don't get it.." Andrea says in regards to Laura. "Maybe someone else said something to her. I just.. I wish she would have talked to me. If someone said something, I'd have confronted them. I'd have stuck up for her." She lets out a long sigh. "Can I go visit her? Can you take me to see her? As far as the rest goes, if the telepaths can't fix this and you all .. get hurt or worse.. then we'd be next, right? What is there to stop a powerful telepath from hurting the rest of us who can't protect ourselves?"

Phoenix has posed:
"I haven't discussed visiting her with the Amazons yet, not sure who I should approach...you're welcome to reach them as well, I believe the number for their embassy is available online. You could always try and go there directly." Jean offers some options, before switching the subject, "you've seen Logan lately?"

She turns to hold Andrea by the shoulders as she keeps asking about the telepath issue, and looks her in the eyes, "if you could help, I would have told you how, right now, only telepaths can do something...maybe a sorcerer or two. Powers beyond me are dealing with this threat, this isn't a job for students, much as I'd like to have you help, you'd only harm yourself trying."

Rage has posed:
"It's better to go out on your feet, than on your knees." Andrea says in response to the last, though she mulls over the first. "I haven't seen Mister Logan, no. And.. I guess I can go to the embassy and see her." She shifts her stance a bit, taking a step back after letting go of her hug with Miss Grey. "I have a friend who has came here from Genosha by the way. I wanted you to meet her. Her name is Clarice Ferguson and she goes by Blink. Purple skin. She can teleport to /anywhere/. It's so cool. She's a big fan of mine too and I'm teaching her how to use the guitar. I think she'd like a chance to enroll, even if part time and study amongst the students."

Phoenix has posed:
"Inspirtational quotes won't help," Jean is quick to retort to Andrea's attempt to sway her, "tell me, if you are a human, standing before an atomic bomb, how do you go on your feet?" She tries putting it in perspective, perhaps to make it easier to understand why unlike other times, where the students were taken to fight back against the cyborg, this time around they are told to keep safe and not get involved.

"She would certainly be welcome, if I was around I would have seen her sooner. As it stands, I've just now returned, and I'm not yet sure it was a smart decision..."

Rage has posed:
"You face your death head on, even if it's against an overwhelming odd. You face it, you look it in the eyes. If an atomic bomb is dropping on the school and I know I can't run from it, I'd just reach out and take Mason by the hand, tell him that I love him one last time and just wait for it to hit. I'm not going to run and hide and cower, because it wouldn't do any good. I'd rather have my last thoughts on this Earth before I see God to be one of strength and confidence. That way, he knows who to pick to serve him as one of his guardian angels." Andrea says as she offers up a shrug of her shoulders.

"But, either way, I'm glad you're back. I think it would help the students feel better to know their headmaster has returned. I know that I am. I'm sure Mister Summers would be too." She grins cheekily at her. "I'm sure he's getting tired of seeing me every day."

Phoenix has posed:
"Now what if I told you that someone else could stop that bomb, before you put yourself in its path?" Jean continues, as she realizes the point wasn't made quite yet. "I am confidant we will prevail, but I want my students alive after we do it. Not dying while we figure it out..."

But then Andrea mentions Mr. Summers, and Jean looks a bit flustered for a moment, taking a step back, "why would you mention him of all people? And I'm sure he's not tired of you at all. He likes to help students master their ability and fulfil their potential."

Rage has posed:
"That depends, am I able to save a civilian or two before the bomb hits and ensure their safety, by perhaps leading them to a safehouse? Life is about taking risks, and I think you know me by now that I'm going to take that risk, whether it's coming out to the world as a mutant, or standing in front of a bullet to protect someone that can't help themselves. Sides, if I had someone like you on my six, I'd be confident the bomb would be stopped. I trust you." Andrea says with an amused smirk upon her face, rocking on her feet as she spies Jean's reaction. "Pff, please. I'm a walking TMZ article around here. I'm the most popular person in the world. Everyone tells me everything. When you go to lunch with him, how he stares at you when you pass in the halls, how his cheeks turn as red as his shades." She giggles. "I think I know something about deep crushes. Look how I pined after Mason. Girl, he has it so bad for you that you'd have to be blind to not see it."

Phoenix has posed:
"Than I must say, I am ecstatic that in this instance you have no means of defying me, Andrea, you're headstrong. It's a good quality, but not recognizing when you are powerless and survival should be the route to take will get you killed. I recognize when I have no chance, which is why I removed myself from the school rather than kill everyone...I would hope you won't let pride blind you to the same."

Jean looks slightly more flustered, looking away from Andrea as she described why she'd mention him of all people, and then she quickly murmurs, "I see, well, maybe, I need to go catch up on everything and let the everyone know I'm back...stay strong Andrea, but stay smart too," Jean winks at her, and then hurries into the building.
