Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Thor, Rogue, Kid

Thor has posed:
Lightning crackled and danced over Mjolnir, its surface dancing with the remnants of what could have once been lightning only now has settled into the distance rumble of thunder even as the ancient weapon carried the son of Odin forwards in the sky. The clouds were myriad and angry behind him, grey and grim with import unspoken as they seemed to trail after the flying figures on their way across the city's skyline.
It had been an hour, and assuredly boredom may well have set in for his companion. The youth of these days are not known for their patience unless a phone was in their hand and it was unlikely a time when such distraction could be indulged in for the wind currents were severe and their progress hard-earned. Some few words had been shared though not much until Thor seems to draw up short, his strong frame shifting from the horizontal to stand tall against the background of the sky. His brow furrows as he looks downwards, the hammer continuing to sizzle with contained power.
"Bide a moment." He extends a hand to the side as if to cease her progress. "Downwards," He gestures with the hammer, then gives a nod and begins his descent. Not the snap crack flash of movement when he crashes into battle but the light yet steady descent he uses when setting down at ease. Downwards... to the large park below that stands out beside Queens just on river's edge. It looks entirely ordinary for the most part. Swings, monkey bars, jungle gym, sand box, and a small lake with a swirled spiral design of paths that twist through what passes for greenery in this part of the city.

Rogue has posed:
It is true that Rogue is mildly addicted to her phone, but she's not as bad as most youth of today are. She grew up mostly without electronic devices, she was an outdoorsy girl all her life. Its not until recently that she's even had the money to afford her own phone and thusly she's... mildly addicted because of all the public attention she's gotten since becoming an Avenger and thusly gaining fan followers online, devoted fans that follow her social media presence and so forth. That kind of stuff draws the youth even deeper into devices addiction...

Right now though? She doesn't have one on her person. She's in her green and white 'heroic' costume in fact, with the white aviator scarf around her neck and the tall boots that end at the skirt-styled bodysuit and her hair is tied back into a ponytail witht he white bangs flowing about her face.

Rogue just floats after Thor, keeping up with him as he flies just fine, though the lightning and thunder are certainly a bit more theatric than how she tends to just fly about when she needs to. Once they land, in Queens, she looks about and palces her green gloved hands on her hips. "This place smells funny." Rogue just blurts out. "And I don't mean funny ha ha, I mean... funny 'hummmmm'."

Thor has posed:
No casual clothes today, Thor is in his armor with blackened plates and the silvered scales along his arms and legs. His boots are tall and with reinforced panels while his dark red cape hangs free along his back save for the end which is attached to his hip akin to a half-cloak in style. It all seems terribly out of place to the soccer moms and the elementary school-aged children who are there in the park and who are suddenly looking up with widened eyes to the appearance of the two heroes.
Thor, for his part, gives a nod of greeting as well as a smile to a child who dangles upside down on the monkey bars but still manages to send a wave towards the two heroes. He turns his head to the side and says towards Rogue, "Indeed, I am told it is industry, and yonder paper mill but it is a smell that lingers I argue that not."
He advances a few steps towards the first sidewalk that wends its way towards that playground, a twisty turny affair that heads outwards in the direction of the river that separates this part of the city from the rest. "I can tell you now, we seek a child of Jormungand. Though such efforts often come to naught. I thought with yourself in evidence as well it would grant the creature incentive to manifest in some form."

Rogue has posed:
Rogue doesn't have a fancy cape, but her scarf is pretty long even with it being wrapped a couple times around her small throat. It flows gently in the wind as she moves with Thor and smiles'n'waves at the kid hanging from the monkey bars, she likes to be nice to the kids when in public and in uniform, they're the fun ones to see their faces light up.

"Paper mills!" Rogue then says as she looks to Thor. "My word d'they stink... Yeah, I remember passin' through a town in Idaho that had one'a those things and it reaked soooo bad." She shakes her head. "I don't see how the locals could stand it, but people say 'ya get used to it'. Pssh... Not me."

Rogue's green eyes look out to the nearing river that they're approaching and she exhales lightly. "Jormun... gand. Got it." She didn't know what that was. "Ya mean ya brought me here cause I'm awesome, and this 'creature' likes to show up when there's a lotta awesome around?" She glances to Thor with a sly grin.

Thor has posed:
The tall Asgardian scrunches up one eye as he walks, his blonde hair having grown in a bit though still nothing compared to his golden locks of times before. He lifts a hand and rubs at the stubble on his chin and then says to her sidelong as they walk, "Perhaps, in a way." He twists Mjolnir through a small circle of motion, a habit of nerves or perhaps simply being antsy.
"In ages past," He gestures with his free hand outwards towards the river or perhaps the ocean that's not too far beyond. "Those who dwelled in this realm would seek the creature's favor by presenting to it youthful maidens who would please it with their beauty." He continues to walk and his brow furrows.
"As to what happened afterwards, however, the tales diverge." Since assuredly some of those maidens did not meet a good fate. Then towards her he says with hurried words as if to alleviate any worry that might manifest. "But with both of us here I doubt things will take a turn."

Rogue has posed:
Rogue seems to beam with an inner happiness when he compliments her--seemingly inadvertently?--whilst explaining why he'd brought her here. "So I'm just that pretty, huh?" She asks coyly, in that flirty sort've way that she's notorious for. "Why Miste'ah Thor, all ya had t'do was tell it t'me, ya didn't have to bring me all the way out here t--Wait." She pauses. Hers dart around then as she tries to find who he's bringing her too.

"The rest'a what you just described makes it sound like you're tryin' to pimp me out t'somebody." She now goes from having a pleasant look on her face to a stern glare at the Asgardian man with the eye-patch. "I swear, if ya brought me out here t'get some creatures romantic interest, just t'better some kinda personal gain'a yours? I'm gonna be cross with you, Blondie."

A heavy sigh escapes between the Southern Belle's lips then and she just keeps going along with this. "Unless the creature looks like Brad Pitt. Or Liam Hensworth. Then I'm all in on this crackpot plan'a yours." That part, is mostly muttered.

Thor has posed:
A snort comes from Thor as he waves a hand to the side, "More that if it were I alone then the creature would have little interest in parley." The Thunderer walks on, still holding Mjolnir lightly in one hand and looking a touch on edge. "With the people of Asgard making Midgard home..." He takes a deep breath and grimaces as he walks. "There are certain forms that must be observed."
His lip twists then as he tries to put a positive spin on it by telling her, "But this is likely little more than a formality." He gives a single sharp nod as he walks, moving towards the edge of the park and the descent that leads downwards towards the pierworks and what passes for a shore in Jersey.
"Well, unless..." Thor's brow furrows, a haze touching his features. Then he shakes his head, "No... no. It's unlikely he has held a grudge for so long."

Kid has posed:
Kid was hustling through the park in a hurry. Oh was untill he missed his train. Of course he missed his train. Finally gets a job and boom, this happens. A sigh escape his lips and he does the next best thing - go through the park!
But as he begins going through...he couldn't help but notice the thunderer and some lady from a 1900 aviator comercial touching down a bit of ways. And with that, curiosity got the better of him and he began to head over. Not quite the slow poke, he soon pass beneath the monkey bars with the same little girl ends up waving at him.
Kid at least nice enough to wave back, before continueing on...he soon caught up with the two avengers, but kept his distance, mostly trailing to see what may be happening. He walked with a lumbering gate, and simply wore torn jeans, and a unzipped hoodie, along side his backpack where he kept his stuff.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue just softly shakes her head. "I still feel bad about what happened to you and your people's home. That really does stink... like, way worse than a paper factory." She glances over at the man and smirks at him. "So I'll help ya if ya need it, if just bein' here and bein' me makes this guy open up more and lets you get the info outta them that you need, then no problem."

Rogue steps up on a park bench while they're walking along and she just casually strides across it before dropping lightly back down to the ground. "Besides. I wanna help the people'a Asgard get settled in here on Earth. This place is pretty great as far as planets in our universe go, right?" She'd never been to any others, but still, all she ever hears about space is war and death... destruction and sorrow, space sounds like a shitty place to her.

The young Avenger sighs then and her gloved hands go up to her white scarf to hold onto either ends as she walks along. Out of the corner of her eye she catches sight of Kid and then looks more pointedly at him. "I think there's a primate rushin' us, Big Fella." She tells the Lord of Thunder.

Thor has posed:
The Asgardian holds up a hand in Rogue's direction as if to stay her protest but when she voices her support for his people he offers a small smile and then looks to the side, one good eye crinkling at the corners. "You did more than your share to aid my people, if you have reservations on this matter I would hold no ill will should you wish to forego this meeting."
Mjolnir makes a faint /whom/ as Thor spins it through its range of motion once again and he looks towards the water. "But aye, Earth... Midgard. It is a pearl beyond price." He offers a nod, "I shall send the call. Make ready."
But then his attention is shifted by Rogue's words and his attention will fall upon Kid once again. His brow knits, frowning for a moment. "I believe he may be following me. Curious." Then he waves a hand, "Pay him no mind, he is harmless." That said he turns back towards the river and raises the hammer.
And that's when the lightning strikes, 'SHABOOMALA!/

Kid has posed:
Kid jumps a bit startled by the lightening, but also excited, making a rather ape like grunt as it strikes. His ears twitch as he had been listening in. If folks want to believe him harmless, that was fine by him.
That being said, since the other two stopped...he decided to keep comming closer, untill he was right next to rogue and Thor. Bold, stupid or not seeing any reason not to he was watching to see what would happen. His hands move to sign, his watch speaking for him as usual "Eh, what's going on here?" he asks simply.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue just grins at Thor and shakes her head. "I don't mind one bit. I got all kindsa people online who follow me cause'a my looks. Whats one more who might enjoy them too?" That might be a very arrogant thing to say, but she's 19 and does have a bit of an ego about her... it'd be hard for a person NOT to considering her life and what she does in it.

"So I'm just supposed to stand--" She cuts herself off as the hammer is used once more to call upon more lightning which makes her gloved hand shoot up to her ears to cover them from the resounding BOOM that follows, she sighs softly then and lowers her hands once more to her hips. "Noise polution..." She mutters.

Rogue's attention sweeps over to the Gorilla Man as he nears to her and she just smiles at him. "Ain't youa cutie." She says, after realizing that he can talk! "Ah... this is... hmmm. Avengers business. Yeah. We're the Avengers." She nods her head a couple of firm times then. "Have no, fear, uh... citizen!" Is he a citizen? So many people around here aren't!

Thor has posed:
Close enough to a citizen, assuredly. But as the lightning strikes it lances downwards into the ground and around the great sweeping spiral pattern of the sidewalks in this park, illuminating te pattern with a bluish afterglow that causes the light to cast curious shadows and a strange haze upon the people nearby. It does not fade, at least not yet, it continues to glow even as Thor lowers his hammer and rests it upon his hip.
"Now we must wait for an answer." Yet with that done he turns his good eye upon Kid and gestures at him, "Be warned. Matters of some import follow, if you interfere or grant me reason to fear your impact upon these proceedings then my wroth shall be great." He takes a moment looking straight at Kid as if letting that sink in before turning back.

Kid has posed:
Kid looks to Thor...than to Rogue. he signs "Thanks, I guess. Guess you look alright for a Airhart ripoff" to her. He signs no comment about citizenship, long as animal control ain't on his arse, he really don't care if folks think he is a citizen or not.
As Thor turns around kid rolls his eyes, clearly not thinking much of what ever anger Thor may hold that or just having enough of an attitude to not give it much weight. He none the less signs "Relax Blondie, just curiouse to see what happens. Sides this looks way too interesting to miss out on"

Rogue has posed:
Rogue looks down at herself when Kid mentions her appearance and she smooths the scarf out across her chest. She has it for a reason really, it helps protect people from touching the skin of her neck or face if she needs to wrap it up around that before a fight breaks out. The rest of her outfit covers her skin up, aside from a small bit of bicep showing above either of her gloves before vanishing beneath the shoulders of her suit again. She just grins at the Gorllia. "Careful though, this may get weir--"

The actions Thor cause confirms that theory of this getting weir too. Rogue takes a step back then and she looks over to Thor. "Ain't ya'll hearda email or Google Hangouts?" She asks with a soft laugh. "But don't worry. I'm here and I'm ready for whatevers t'come next!"

Thor has posed:
The Asgardian's attention is on the large glowing symbol that seems to take up the entirety of the park and its curious structure. But then the waters out in the river begin to swell and surge, foam bubbling forth along with refuse and debris from the river floor. Containers, old car parts, plastic, metal, stone, concrete. It all comes surging upwards in a blurbling rumble that carries with it a stench that puts the paper mill to shame.
Yet it's only after a few moments longer when the long serpentine neck of a creature seemingly composed of the water from which it comes rises up, carrying with it a reptilian head with dripping fangs yet no eyes. The water seems to continue to flow around it and at times within its aqueous body some of the debris can be seen flowing inside and around even as it raises its head some twenty feet into the air to look down upon the heroes.
"I bid thee greetings, child of Jormungandr." Thor's voice has slipped deeper, more stern and something in the words sounding not entirely to the norm.

Kid has posed:
Kid signs "...yea...weird" as he looks up and up and up at the giant snake like creature. He looked along the serpertain body, if it could even be called that. Well he was utterly entranched by this event.
Kid crosses his arms, seems even with his big mouth, he knew when to shut up. And this seemed like an awefully good time. Alot of questions came to mind...but he'll ask later at a less convient time. That is to say a time he is less likely to get eaten.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue certainly wasn't expecting THIS. She watched the water get displaced and filled with trash and garbage, she watches the snake rise up out of it and she just opens her lips and stares up at it... in awe really. "Holy, shit." She says then, her gloved hands are resting on either sides of her hips but she stands there... ready for a fight? At least a bit on edge now that she's seeing this huge thing.

"That does not look like a child'a anything." She tells the Thunder God, though he's likely too busy to really worry about her random commentary at this point. Rogue's eyes glance toward Kid then. "I wouldn't fault ya if ya made a run for it." She tells the Gorilla... because its tempting to her to do the same! Her eyes return to the giant serpent and she draws in a breath. "This thing likes pretty women? Thats, unsettling as hell." She huffs out a laugh, cause, well, its hard to get her sense of humor out of her!

Thor has posed:
The creature responds with a low burbling sound, its voice deep and resonant somehow with the ground around them and with the earth under their feet. It's voice is a series of hums and hrms like a being who speaks slooooowly while all the world exists upon an entirely different frequency. It continues to rise upwards, however, until its neck is an S-curve above them and it looks down on them pointedly. Yet when its voice comes to a moment at rest, Thor shifts his weight to the other heavy armored boot and gestures towards Rogue.
"She is a shield maiden, one of the warriors of this land and has taken up cause with those of Asgard as well."
There is another pause as the creature harrrrrrrrummmmmmbles a few long and low words in whatever language with which it speaks, its head twisting to the side.
"Him?" Thor answers as he glances towards Kid, then he looks back up at the creature. "He is a gorilla." He says that as if that was enough of an answer. Which for now, it is.

Kid has posed:
Kid signs towards Rogue "The hell you mean? This is fracking awesome!!! Like do you get to see stuff like this everyday? Goddamn" he eyes became ever wider as the serpant grew ever taller. He seemed to have zero fear, well fear in regards to being afraid, but he did have fear in a healthy understanind that this thing could probably just tail lash them to mars.

His heard turns about as he more feels the rumble, the hums. It was unusual to not understand a language, which made this all the more curiouse. He elbows Rogue "Better to be liked than hated eh?" he signs after wards. Though he than looks to Thor and the serpant watching their interaction with due curisosity

Rogue has posed:
Rogue's dark eyebrows are up pretty high on her brow as the expression represents the sheer disbelief of what she's seeing. She's seen some stuff in her young life, but nothing like THIS. "Nope..." Rogue mutters back to the Gorilla. "This is a first." Her voice is low to the fuzzy one who elbows her and she grins for a second before she raises her right hand in a 'wave' toward the giant snake creature.

"Hello." Rogue says up to it. "I'm a... Shield Maiden?" She glances over to Thor then. Shields, like in Lord of the Rings or Gladiator, right? Wonder Woman has a shield, so does Captain America and for a second, Rogue wonders if she should get one too... But really its gone pretty quick. "Crazy, uh, weather we've been havin' lately, right?" After she says that she quickly looks over to Thor and shrugs her shoulders.

"Does it understand us?" She asks the Thunder God then. "I mean, me, or whatever." She definitely didn't understand what IT said.

Thor has posed:
"Possibly," Thor says to them sidelong even as the creature keeps its liquid form composed above them, the shape of its eyes seeming to slither back and forth as it looks at each person in turn even while it seems to wait with nigh unto infinite patience. "It has not the gift of Allspeak yet it is tied to us. Connected." He offers that non-explanation even as he steps forwards.
"Asgard is no more." He tells the creature which causes the being to twist its head to the side almost quizzically. "Yet Asgard is here and I am ever bound to your ilk. I would have you carry this message to you and yours."
The tall aquatic water weird seems to answer that with long sad forlorn tones yet somehow tinged with iron, as if it were pronouncing sentence or making a declaration. But once it finishes with that slow meandering sound deep inside its form, it begins to slough off the shape of itself, dropping back into the surface of the river as just so much inanimate water now.

Kid has posed:
Kid looks to Rogue and signs "Well, guess there is a first for everything." nice to know there are even firsts for heroes. He tried to imagine the aviation girl as a 'Shield Maiden' and...he could see it, he even begins to frame Rogue as if imagining something...before looking to Thor

Kid signs to the thunderer "Alright, well THAT was different. But isn't..Jormuander the World Eater? That ummm...water serpant thing, was a child of a world eater?" he may not have it right of course, mostly likely doesn't, but he was outright curiouse. "And what was it even saying?" he signs wondering all these things

Rogue has posed:
Rogue doesn't know what a World Eater is even, she just shakes her head softly and then places hr hands back onto her hips before she looks once more to Thor, from the creature that was. "There are more of those things down there?" She asks, clucking her tongue as she shakes her head right to left. "See, people always say that its fine t'swim in the ocean, but nah... the ocean is not a swimmin' pool, it has all kindsa weird as heeeeell stuff down in there!"

Her left hand goes up to stroke the white locks of hair out of her eyes on the right side of her face as she stares at the Thunder God. "Did it work?" She asks him then. "I mean, whatever it is that was your goal?" She smirks then. "Was I pretty enough?" She may not want to hear the answer to that!

Thor has posed:
A small snort is given by Thor in response to Rogue's question but he leaves it unanswered for now. Instead he half-kneels and stamps the hammer's haft upon the ground, sending a ripple of impact through the illuminated spiral that had taken over the park for that short time. Once the ripple passes the glow begins to fade and the Asgardian gains his feet. "We shall see if this effort bears fruit."
That said he turns and starts to walk towards the edge of the pier and sets Mjolnir to spinning, the hammer humming as it circles and he tells them. "I am to Norway for now, to pass on the news. I shall see you again when we Avengers gather." A nod of departure is given towards Rogue, then a strange look is given towards Kid as if he doesn't really /get/ the vampire ape fellow.
With those few words having been said he then hurls the hammer upwards and with that motion it carries him off into the sky.

Kid has posed:
Kid gets a half annoyed expression as Thor takes off and signs "....is this Thor fella ALWAYS this much of an asshole?" he asks. "Meet devils who can at least answer a simple damn question" he signs to Rogue before shrugging. And judging by the expression on his face, he was quite serious in that statement. "But guess your flying off too eh?" he wouldn't really be surprised. Seemed the avengers were always busy doing something

Rogue has posed:
Rogue softly nods to Thor after he completes his epic metal show of power and she just turns with him. "Okay." She says to her team mate. "Well, just get aholda me if ya need anymore help." She offers but the Thunderer is gone pretty quickly there after and she's left here in Queens in full uniform wondering what she should do next.

Rogue looks over to the Gorilla and she just grins at him. "He's not an asshole, he's a King." She says. "Kings tend t'act like he does, ya know? Except the Burger King... he stares in people's windows at night. That guy is the real asshole."

The young Avenger walks to the water's edge and she places her gloved hands on the railing then sighs heavily. "Guess I better fly back t'the city." She glances over at the Gorllia. "You need a lift anywhere? Gotta be somewhere fast?" She's offering him a lift, it would seem, and her hand reaches over to showcase it.

Kid has posed:
"Being a king doesn't mean you can't be a jerk" Kid signs. He clearly doesn't care if Thor IS a king. "But yea, could use a lift. Gotta get to Mercy's garage" he signs...he about to take the hand before signing "...also, if you drop me...so help me, I will come back from the grave and punch your soul into an incarnation of Conker the Squirrel" he threatens before than taking the hand.

Rogue has posed:
Rpgue laughs softly and she shakes her head from side to side, her white bangs and white aviator scarf are blowing softly in the wind near the water's edge. "I'm not gonna drop ya." She tells him. "You weigh less than a blade'a grass t'me, Miste'ah." She tells the talking Gorllia. "Now quit your belly ache'n and lets get goin'." And with that, there will be a girl in green and white, flying back to Manhattan carrying a Gorilla! Just another day in NYC!
