Date of Scene: 04 November 2018
Location: The Batcave
Synopsis: The Bat Family let Carrie in on their big secret.
Cast of Characters: Batman, Carrie Kelley, Red Robin, Robin (Wayne)

Batman has posed:
The Batmobile roars through Gotham City, and then out past the city limits. Batman does not stop, nor does he speak again after they've left the Halloween party and the rather tense stand-off with Jason. After a while, the Batmobile turns into a heavily wooded area and off the road entirely - narrowly avoiding trees and rocky outcroppings. Soon, it is speeding directly towards what looks to be a sheer cliff face at top speed only to pass right through it into a sleek, dark tunnel. When the Batmobile finally slows to a halt, it is on a platform suspended above a deep chasm in what looks to be an underground cave turned hi-tech command center. The Batmobile's hatches open, allowing them to exit:
    "This is the Batcave."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley remains quiet the entire ride. There was a lot to think about. More than she had anticipated at the start of this evening which was supposed to have just been a pleasant evening with some good, enjoyable costume party fun. Granted, there were signs that she'd seen which informed her there was more to Jason than met the eye, but never had she anticipated the evening to end like this.

When they arrive at their apparent final destination she finally moves to sit up, hand reaching out to rest on the edge of the open hatch. Green eyes peer up at the ceiling then down, down, until she gazes into that dark chasm below. Best not to look there too long. "Cozy," she offers quietly more out of habit than an attempt at genuine conversation. Shifting up she gets out of the Batmobile to her feet to follow after where Batman goes.

Red Robin has posed:
Red Robin rides up through the tunnel and stops his Bike behind the batmobile. He steps off the bike and nods to the two who got there before him and moves to get the first aid kit. Setting it on the table he takes out a few things, peroxide being one of them, he doesn;t remove his own cowl yet, waiting for Batman to give the all clear on that, but, he wonders if Carrie has an idea who he is.

Batman has posed:
Batman leads the way up the flight of steps that lead to the main platform of the Batcave. The large one that contains a wide variety of trophies and keepsakes not limited to an animatronic tyrannosaurus rex, a massive penny propped up on its side, and a number of glass cases containing all manner of strange things. The Dark Knight walks amongst them, pausing a moment by this one and that before he gets to a large glass case that contains a version of the very costume Carrie is wearing now. The only difference being it looks like it has been through a hell of a time, torn and shredded in places. The case holds pride of place amongst the keepsakes, held with silent reverence.
"You know who we are," he begins, voice even and without inflection, "you've known for some time. I've worked hard to keep you from fully realizing that truth. Both to keep my family safe, and to keep you safe. You're not ready for this life. Or at least I didn't think you were ready. After tonight, I've realized I may have been wrong."
He pauses a moment, glancing past the trophies towards Tim. He nods his head and reaches up to the cowl, releasing a catch that holds it in place. He pauses a moment, considering the move before ultimately going ahead with it. The cowl is lifted, revealing a stern face nothing like the smiling, easy-going visage that sports the front of magazines.
    "I'm Bruce Wayne."

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
The Redbird screeches into the cave. Robin wasn't happy still. The electric motors whine to a stop, on the platform designated for the Redbird.

He jumps off the bike, already moving to get himself stitched up.

"That bastard. Taking a batsuit instead of a costume. Taking real weapons to a Halloween party."

Carrie and Batman aren't quite acknowledged yet, first thing first, he needs to staunch the bleeding.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
"To be fair, I really wasn't trying to figure out your identity," Carrie offers quietly in her defence. Somehow even now she felt as if she were about to be grilled by an adult. She was one herself but the situation just reminded her a lot of being a kid in trouble. Before she can say anything else she glances over at the arrival of Robin. A small, worried frown creeps over her as she watches him more than the grand reveal of Batman-is-Bruce Wayne.

It wasn't that it wasn't important, but Damian was her student. One that was rather upset over the incident apparently, and injured to boot. Her mouth opens to call out to him intending to ask if he was okay... but she glances away thinking better of it. Let him work out his anger first. Instead she turns her attention back to Bruce.

Wordlessly she takes out from her pouch a handful of the Robin-rangs, classic style, that Jason had given her. They're offered out. "It seems these are yours. He'd told me he got them off of Ebay. Insisted on authenticity for the costume." While part of it feels like tattling, she also felt as if she had to explain herself.

Red Robin has posed:
"The real Bruce Wayne, as real as he get's." Red Robin says as he walks over and stands next to the man, pulling back his own cowl to reveal a familiar face, complete with that streak of red dyed hair, though the face itself isn't the happy, goofy Tim that most know, but one of matureity, and of eyes that have seen more than a person his age ought to see. "I think she's ready for the real trainning." he says, this time without the use of his voice modulator. "First Aid kit is on the table Robin, even got out the peroxide for you."

Batman has posed:
"Perhaps not," Bruce replies, "but you were there, whether you knew it or not. Tim should know. He's been in your shoes."
He extends a hand to take back the Robin-rangs, clutching them in his fist. Tim's words cause his brow to crease, and the grim line of his mouth to become something more like a frown: "Maybe so. That's a ... different beast."
Without warning, he steps past Carrie and towards Damian. He eyes him carefully, keeping his distance as he evaluates the injuries the Red Hood inflicted: "He's right. Let's clean out those wounds. Jason isn't going anywhere."

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Robin looks around, everyone taking off their masks it seems. Damian takes his off as well, revealing his pale green eyes.

Robin takes a seat, beginning to remove his cape and tunic, and tactical armored suit underneath. "The fucker knew where to use that batarang, and got me good." His upper body exposed now, showing many scars, most of them from his early childhood. He starts to dab wounds it's peroxide, and taking his time to do things right, minimizing the risk of infection.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley still has hers on... Though it was not of the same quality as theirs. It was a handmade costume, albeit one made with all the skill of her years in theater. When Bruce turns away to check on Damian she steps after though giving them plenty of room to work. A faint smile is offered to Tim as well as a shrug. "Hi again, Tim. I guess I figured out why Jason was never your favorite topic." A small sigh escapes her as her attention shifts back to the injured one.

Her hand dips down to her belt to fish out her glasses, which she then swaps for the costume mask which leaves just a hint of spirit gum behind on her temples. "I can help, if you want, Damian. I did learn a few tricks in Starling." Was he even aware of her training? She didn't know.

Red Robin has posed:
Tim shakes his head. "That's a topic for another time, once this..." he waves to the batcave. "Settles in." he says as he shakes his head at carrie. "Let Bruce handle him, if he thinks you're coddling him, he gets upset." Tim says in a whisper. "Damian is more grown up than most of the adults in gotham... most of the time anyway." he says as he turns and heads over to the bat-computer. "Yep, Jason Todd - Red Rood, Zeroed." he says, though he does bring up the big map of gotham, glowing blips on the map as he looks at them. "Nightwing, batgirl, oragle, batwoman... all accounted for." he says, useing their hero names and not their real names. "No big hits yet, you'd figure one of the rogues gallary would have tried somthing tonight."

Batman has posed:
Bruce glances down at Damian, looking over the wounds as he cleans them just to make sure there is nothing critically life-threatening that is being downplayed for the sake of bravado. Satisfied, he looks back at Carrie and then Damian before speaking: "Let Ms Kelly take a look." Hell, if she's going to join the gang she might as well get used to sewing up knife wounds and bullet holes. They're both on the curriculum.

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Damian keeps fuming as he mends his wounds. "I can..." He trails off as Bruce asserts Damian to have his wounds looked at. Removing his gloves, Damian sighs, still working off the adrenaline. "I mentioned this in my report. My cover got blown because of shoddy housekeeping. Damian Wayne doesn't go out grandstanding on a motorcycle with chameleontech paint. And I don't have Goliath stay anywhere near the manor grounds in the daytime. And that fucking cheap shot at Mother. I should have offered him a fucking razor blade and told him if he wanted to stay dead, then by all means." Yes, he is throwing a fit, but that was the real Damian, angry ninety percent of the time.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley lifts an eyebrow at Tim's whisper of taking care not to coddle Damian. "I know. He's my student after all." Even if he had hid his true lifestyle that didn't change for her. "But it's up to him if he wants my help or not. It's always his choice." This is said more for Damian's benefit than Tim's, though, as she looks back to him with a reassuring smile. As much as she can muster right now after such a tiring night.

Tim's rattling off of the check-in for others does steal her attention away for a moment though. "Oracle? ... I guess I should have figured that one out, actually," she murmurs quieter with a shake of her head.

Given Damian doesn't protest her help she steps forward, and around behind him. One hand places on his shoulder while the other moves lower along his spine. Several quick, sharp jabs of her thumb are made in specific areas before she reaches up to pinch the tip of one of his ears between thumb and forefinger. "I'm not as good at this as Yin, but this should help speed up your recovery. You'll want to eat something high in protein later. And no," she agrees quietly, "I didn't suspect you at all. I'm really impressed, honestly. You're an excellent actor."

Red Robin has posed:
Red Robin turns around in the chair and looks to the other three. "So, are we each going to take a skillset to teach her? or is one of us going to train her ourselves?" He asks as he tilts his head. "Also, I'd like to upgrade her suit, full restoration, top to bottom." He says as he presses a button on the computer to bring up what looks like a guess at her suit's schematics, the Bats do have a keen eye for things like that.

Batman has posed:
"We'll ... sort that out. Later."
Bruce holds up a hand, as though urging Tim to slow down a little: "There's a lot to unpack here, and it's been an eventful evening. Kestrel may have her own ideas about whether or not she wants to be a part of our organization."
As Carrie does her healing work, Bruce pulls up a seat and sits nearby. He steeples his fingers in front of his face and watches intently, before speaking: "Regardless of whether you suspected or not, you know no. And I need you to understand that this is a secret. What you know now is information some people will kill for. I need to know you won't betray our trust."

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Damian's face winces slightly as Carrie brings her jabs, and prodding. The boy's slightly olive skin tone flushes as the blood flow improves. "Thanks." He responds quietly, a hushed tone. It was very difficult for him to have someone who knows him as Damian before knowing Robin. For the moment, he keeps his eyes on himself, the bat out of the bag has him a bit conflicted. Soon he starts to continue to work on himself, placing a couple butterfly clips on his face, then a small suture kit.

Gloves and hemostats are taken out and the suture is clamped on. "There's a reason Da...I am different as Robin. And Batman to Bruce." He comments, talking to his side, towards Carrie.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley glances past Damian toward Tim, and Bruce, as they discuss her joining or not joining this group. Along with the more serious matter that Bruce brings up. Glancing back to Damian she watches as he finishes patching himself up. "You're welcome. And... yeah, I can see why now."

Looking again to Bruce, Carrie offers the faintest of frowns at his question. "I'm not about to out anyone. I know I'm new to this but this IS something I chose to do. Keeping secrets is part of it. Besides..." What she starts to say she hesitates to do so, as her eyes swing down to Damian again with a difficult to read expression. Given how many times she'd shown up ready to chew out Bruce Wayne on Damian's behalf, it might not be so hard for him to deduce that she was protective of her students. This one included.

Red Robin has posed:
"This is who we are, and it's secrecy is very important, even more so than other super heros because we don't have powers." Tim says as he looks t the three of them. "We have our public persona's, they are a dodge, an act, or in some cases, an escape." he says as he levels a look right at bruce.

Batman has posed:
"Damian began this life with more training than all of his predecessors did when they started," Bruce seems to have picked up on what was not said and finishes the thought, "His early life was trying. It's his story to tell. But you should understand that I don't put him in danger lightly. He has a right to be Robin. A right that he earned, and that Tim earned before him."
The comment on using his life as Bruce Wayne as an escape goes unremarked upon, but he does frown a little bit, "Now that we know we can trust you, Tim raises a valid point. What you know? What you've learned so far? Not enough. Not by a long shot. If you're going to do this, you need instruction. If you accept our help, I'll teach you. We all will. But it's your decision. I believe we can trust you with this secret, and if you want that to be all we have in common then so be it."

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
The mention of Damian's former life only makes him slightly morose. He hadn't expected to reveal this side of himself to anyone. "Obviously my mother is not a Metropolis socialite. The rest...maybe later." He comments, working on a stitch on his leg. The young Robin used no anesthetic, nor did he make any painful faces or sounds.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley glances among them all clearly trying to keep up as well as think long and hard on the topic at hand: DID she want to work with them and be trained by them? After all of her work so far, which she knew was just the tip of the iceberg, and the Birds of Prey offering something simlar it did leave her with much to think about. A deep breath is drawn as her weight rocks back onto her heels. "It's something to think about. I was working with Oracle and the Birds of Prey, obviously, though that's ... different." In a way. "If you want details on my suit I'm sure Oracle has it given she's the one that got it for me. My own gear was kind of patchwork before that," she offers toward Tim.

Damian gets a small nod of agreement. "You can tell me what you want, or don't tell me. I won't pry. I've already learned more than you wanted me to know." Given his rather emotional reaction she didn't want to stress him out further. It was clear their relationship as it was meant something to him to have elicited that sort of response. She'd keep things as close to what he wanted as she could in light of things. "No offense, but this is a much longer and more eventful night than I ever anticipated. I think I should look at getting home and resting for the evening before making any decisions."

Red Robin has posed:
Tim nods and turns back to the batcomputer. "I already have the schematics, but go home, think about it, and get some rest." he says with a smile.

Batman has posed:
"Take your time. It isn't a decision to take lightly, and I won't begrudge you saying no."
That said, Bruce gets up and moves towards a series of steel pylons that rise from the ground as he approaches. He opens one like a cabinet, produces something and returns. In his hand he holds a small, barely-visible earpiece and microphone which he then hands to Carrie.
"Receiver and sub-vocal microphone. After Tim takes another shot at your gear it'll be built into the mask but, for now, you can contact us through this." Not to mention the GPS tracker. But Batman will be Batman.
"Now, I think you need to get home."
