Jessica Jones has posed:
There's no phone call in advance, no warning aside from Matt's own uncanny way of knowing when people are nearby, when suddenly there's a knock on the door. A rather assertive one. Not in the manner of 'IRS/FBI open up', but rather in the 'not going away so better answer' sort of insistance. "Matt...are you in there? Matt?"

Daredevil has posed:
Matt had been on his couch going over the Hellas International papers they had thoughtfully printed in braile for him when he the familiar cluster of sensations that is Jessica Jones, enters his range of detection. That has his head tilting and by the time she's pounding on the door, he's on his way to open it, dressed down in a hoodie and jeans today.

The bolts are slide back, chain removed and the door opens, "Jess, what's up?" he asks stepping aside assuming the detective would just barge in anyhow.

Jessica Jones has posed:
"Wow..." Jessica mutters when the door is opened and she thankfully stops her pounding, "casual is not a good look on you." That's always a good start when you come to comfort someone, insult them at the getgo. "Heard about your girlfriend...well, ex," she starts but slows to a halt. Everyone knows about it, no need to be a PI, it was all over the news. Truth be told, Jess was quite annoyed at how often media been discussing it these days.

"No real simple way to say this, so...I wanted to see you're alright, and to tell you I'm here for you," the irritation notable in her tone of voice just might mean Jessica is being quite sincere. Then again, she was never one to simply do something because society dictates it. Maybe she cares for Matt despite all of her abrasive derision and teasing.

Daredevil has posed:
Along with the casual look Matt wasn't wearing his shades, so when he blinks at the greeting, it's plain, but he rallies quickly. "Comes with dressing while blind," he counters wryly, a hint of a smile on his lips.

The smile doesn't survive past mention of Elektra, it vanishes, becoming a thin inscrutable line as he braces for the verbal punch that never comes. Instead he gets something he didn't expect at all: sympathy.

Taking a minute to adjust he says, "Come on in, did you want a drink?" he asks leading the way inside, making sure to get his shades before he hits up his drinks cabinet.

Jessica Jones has posed:
"Touche, though I'm used to seeing you sharply dressed, never really thought about that much, must be another super power, huh?" Jessica muses, before closing the gap from Matt, more or less walking in before or as he invites her to come in. But she doesn't waltz past him, she stops to give him a tight embrace. Hopefully not too tight, "no need for a drink, I'm here for you, not to pilfer your drink cabinet." Tell that to a certain Ms. Temple.

"So...do you know what happened? Are you keeping it together? Do you even want to talk about it?" Jessica bombards, before easing her embrace and walking all the way in to allow Matt to shut the door behind him. "I'm sorry, I really suck at things like this."

Daredevil has posed:
Matt's smile returns if subdued, "It's practice, it's why I wear basically the same suit everyday, fewer variables, easier to get it right," he says, which spoke to some of the discipline involved in being Matt Murdock, even if he brushed it off as part of his daily routine.

The hug stops his trek to find his glasses and takes Matt entirely by surprise. His sightless eyes blink a moment before he returns it, gingerly at first, before ultimately returning it in kind. That sort of affection was a rarity in his life.

Then the questions come, which is almost welcome, it keeps his mind on the facts, and he shuts the door behind her. Considering his answers a she says, "No it's alright, we go with what we know, I do the question thing too," he says. If he was going to guess, it was a result of their professions.

He nods over in the direction of the couch as he takes the time to answer, "I do know what happend, I was there," he admits softly, the words are hard to get out. "As for keeping it together," he lets out a breath. "Honestly? Probably not. I've got this hole, right here," he taps his chest. "And despite that I've got a war with the Hand to fight and now, a Elektra's whole fortune dropped on my lap. Mostly I am just trying to keep busy, because if I stop, I think-" he pauses. "No, I know, I won't have it in me to get going again."

The words were quiet, raw, honest and needed.

"As for talking about it? This is the first time I've really had the chance."

Jessica Jones has posed:
"I'm happy if I find the same pair of jeans I took off before crawling to bed, if I manage that..." Jessica relies her far less professional manner in turn. "But hey, I do wash them, occasionally." Board of Educations everywhere, never let Jess teach Home Ec.

Jessica appears rather stunned to learn Matt was there when it happened, "really?" She's at a loss for words, "I'm glad you didn't put your own life on the line to stop it, whatever it was...." but it all gets derailed when the Hand is mentioned. "The Hand!? Isn't that ninja bullshit Danny's thing? Why are you pulled into that shit now?" Yeah, she is concerned for Matt, and she really doesn't like all the martial arts going around. Makes her feel ungraceful, which if we're honest, she very much is.

"Well, in that case, glad to be of service if you want to talk." Jessica almost asks if part of the inheritance has access to some ridiculous bottles of whisky, but manages to hold back, and keep it about Matt for the time being. Which is what it should be.

Daredevil has posed:
There is another smile for Jess' habits. "You and Foggy both then," he with a chuckle, born of years of rooming with the guy.

Matt takes a seat in on the coach, shifing a stack of papers over to do it. He leaves room for Jess to join him. "Yeah, normally that's Danny's end of thing," he agrees. "But Elektra got mixed up with the Hand," he spares her the details of just where she stood in their organization. "They wanted to turn her into something called Black Sky, and they weren't ever going to stop coming, so, she did what she had to do to stop them."

The implications were clear, if there was no Elektra, there was no reason to keep coming even if he couldn't quite say it. He flinches then, expecting to be told off for buying into this mystic bullshit, but what with the Hand and suddenly inheriting a company he was a glowing fist, a dragon story and a cool tattoo from being Danny at this point.

As for the invitation to talk, he's talking which in it's own answer.

Jessica Jones has posed:
"I guess so, but don't you dare tell Foggy we have anything in common," Jessica doesn't quite know what Foggy's situation is at the moment, but she knows she would rather not have anyone approach her in any kind of way she suspects he might.

Jess does joins Matt, sitting down and having a good conversation for once. "Poor thing," Jessica can't mask her disdain for Elektra, but she also doesn't think anyone is deserving of the Hand's attentions. She, naturally, has no clue that Elektra was already involved.

"Black Sky? So now the ninjas are into scifi bullshift? Terrific." Jessica down plays her concern, but just hearing that the Hand wanted to turn Elektra into something she wasn't is making her skin crawl. It's more than that, it makes her angry and scared at the same time. Bringing back all manner of PTSD related stuff she really shouldn't be dealing with in Matt's apartment.

While Jess has grown adapt at hiding her oncoming episodes, the fact she didn't ridicule the mysticism of the Hand might be a sign she's not alright. Just as the lack of digs about Matt starting to emulate Danny. Though in fairness, she said she was there for him, she really been keeping nice for the most part.

"Elektra is brave," Jess says when she finally manages words again after a moment's quiet shuddering, "was..." just hearing of such a feat of escape starts to play with her mind. Why didn't she kill herself to escape Kilgrave? Of course the real answer is because he forbade it, but that's the way mental afflictions work, one often doesn't see what's there.

Another moment passes, and Jess realizes she's been staring at the floor like a zombie. "Matt, I know I came over to be there for you...but, I..." and just like that she's up and in a rush for the door, "I have to go, be strong!"

Daredevil has posed:
"Deal," Matt says with a subdued chuckle about telling Foggy.

Matt can't help but snort slightly at the 'poor thing' aimed at Elektra, he opens his mouth to say 'Better not say that around her' but then he realizes she can't, no one can.

He's quiet a moment before he rises from the fog and catches up. "Sounds like it," he says. "I was told it was some sort of weapon to win the war, the Hand are fighting with Danny and some others, but who knows, all I know is the Hand believed it and weren't going to stop until they got her, even if they cut through everyone we cared about to do it."

And that 'we' includes Jess.

He notices the lack of comment on, well how damn weird all of this is and Matt turns his head Jess' way. Letting his senses bring him more information than their usual passive scan. As he does, he answers, "She was, she died to keep us safe."

But then as he can feel what's going on with Jessica, he says, "Jess, Jesus, are you okay?" he reaches for her while she's just staring at the floor, only for her to rise and bolt for the door.

To say Matt was stunned was an understatement, he rises, but doesn't give chase, "Jess, you can stay, whatever's going on. I get it." Or well he thought he did. He knew some issue of hers was triggered but not what and how exactly.
