Showing Laura how the rich live in NYC
Date of Scene: 08 November 2018
Location: Manhattan, New York City
Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Rage, X-23

Rage has posed:
Located in Manhattan is Andrea's eighteenth story apartment in a building called 'The Executive'. It's an area known for the rich and elite to frequent, buy property and rent it out. With her parents living in California, she has had to place all to herself save a visit from the maid, or Mason when he sneaks over to chill out for a few days. Waiting in front of the building for her friend in the lobby is the popstar, who is tapping away at her phone with a few taps of her thumbs along the screen. She is dressed comfortably in snug jeans and a NYU sweater. There is a butler waiting at the front doors to open them for guests and a receptionist in the wide open lobby filled with expensive furniture and decor.

X-23 has posed:
Laura arrives, with the bag that Diana packed for her. Which is good, because she has none of those things herself. She walks down the sidewalk to finally reach the lobby, stepping in through the door. She looks about once, then moves to step over to Andrea.

Rage has posed:
Glancing upwards at the sight of Laura, Andrea gives her a bright smile. "Hi!" She calls over excitedly as she heads over to throw her arms about for a quick hug. Squeeeeze! "I'm so glad you're here. You'll love it. I even got your own room up there so we aren't sharing a bed. Also I stocked the fridge with your favorite food, aaaaaaaand I got a popcorn machine up there." She rambles once she lets her go, heading for the glass elevators. "Did you walk here?"

X-23 has posed:
Laura gives an awkward, somewhat stiff-armed hug in return. She's not so much the huggy person. She looks abut the lobby. "It's very large. And yes?" She keeps hold of her bag.

Rage has posed:
"I could have sent a car to pick you up. You didn't have to walk. I know how the sidewalks can be out there." Andrea slides a keycard out and swipes it along the elevator so the doors can open up, then steps inside. The elevator has wrap around glass so that you can see the city from that side as it rises upwards. She pushes the button for 18, then hums along with the familiar chime of the elevator music. "So, whatcha wanna do tonight? We can order dinner and watch movies. I'll call Mason and see if he wants to come over and maybe bring a few friends over? Or.. we can just have a girl night?"

X-23 has posed:
Laura watches, trying to keep up with the procedures and stimulai. "Is there something wrong with the sidewalks?" She rides the elevator up. "I am not sure? I am rarely in a room except to sleep." Another pause. "What is a girl night? Nights have gender?"

Rage has posed:
"Yes, nights have genders. There are girl nights and there are guy nights. Guy nights mostly consist of guys sitting around talking about girls and acting stupid. Girl's nights consist of us being dignified with a glass of wine and or orange juice with a movie ... and talking about boys. They are so different." Andrea says with a grin tugging along her lips to show she is joking. "Nothing wrong with the sidewalks. They're just busy. Always bumping into someone, and cars honking... just a lot going on down there."

X-23 has posed:
Laura nods. "There is a lot of activity there. It is a good test to keep up with tactical possibilities. It sounds as if it would be a "girl night", since we are both girls." Laura considers. "I do not know what boys we will talk about."

Rage has posed:
Giggling, Andrea leans in to bump her shoulder gently against hers. "We can skip that part and just watch movies and have popcorn. We can talk about whatever /you/ want." As the doors swing open to Andrea's apartment, she brushes her keycard along the lock to pop it open, then steps into the wide, expansive room filled with white furniture, a wide open kitchen filled with stainless steel appliances, and a wrap around view of windows that overlook the city. It's a beautiful view. Worth every penny. There is a large grand piano set up in a corner with a couple of guitars. Pictures of her family is everywhere, as well as a few of her and her friends at school, and some with the team. She even was able to sneak a few of her and Laura in there too. She /really/ likes photos it seems. "Ta da! Home sweet home."

X-23 has posed:
Laura fidgets a bit. This is very different than what she's used to. She starts to step in, pauses, and looks at the floor. "Should I take my shoes off?" It seems too pristine to get sidewalk dirt on it.

Rage has posed:
"Sure, if you want." Andrea says as she steps out of her sneakers, then nudges them to the side. "I have a maid that comes once a week to dust and vacuum, and I'm hardly home. I'm sure she'd be excited to see some dirt on the ground for a change." She says as she peels out of her sweater to reveal a t-shirt beneath. She folds the sweater and puts it down on a table. "I know this place isn't as cool as the mansion but it's home for me."

X-23 has posed:
Laura steps out of the borrowed sneakers, leaving her in equally borrowed jeans and a Wonder Woman t-shirt. "It is different from the mansion. Which is different from the embassy. Which is different from the Facility." The girl doesn't have a lot of experience with different places. "It's very large. Especially for one person." A moment's hesitation. "It seems lonely."

Rage has posed:
"Oh, sometimes it's lonely, but it's big enough for when my family comes to visit me from California, or if I have house parties and bring friends over, or if Mason wants to stay the night with me for the weekend." Andrea says with a grin on her face. "But it's also an investment. I may rent it out one day, or sell it." Heading into the kitchen, she opens the huge fridge to take out some bottles of orange juice, holding out to her. "It's sort of why I live at the school, so I can be around you guys."

X-23 has posed:
Laura reaches out to take the offered bottle of orange juice, and then looks back. "I can understand that. It is...more pleasant to have social interaction." She opens the bottle, and takes a drink.

Rage has posed:
Andrea nods her head as she unscrews the cap of hers. "It sure does But you also need a place to relax at and to call your own. It helps to get away. I like to relax here and think of new songs to write, or think about new projects and ideas." She sips at her juice, smiling. "Did you like staying at the embassy? I can't believe you were hanging out with Wonder Woman. I know it may not be a big deal for you, but for /me/, I worshipped her as a kid. She is like the epitome of .. girl power. She's so strong and beautiful and she saves lives and she is generous!"

X-23 has posed:
"It was...pleasant." Laura answers. "She reminds me of...certain people." She's quieter than normal, and she actually hugs herself a bit.

Rage has posed:
Noticing, Andrea tilts her head a bit, then inches in a bit closer. "You okay?" She asks with concern in her voice. "Want to talk about it?"

X-23 has posed:
Laura is quiet for a moment. "She reminds me of Miss Grey. And my mother." Diana is third in the list of Laura's surrogate mothers. "I am tired of losing them." she says, voice just sort of...hollow. Broken. Leaving the mansion has not been all good for her.

Rage has posed:
Nodding her head, Andrea says, "If it makes you feel better, Wonder Woman can't get killed. She's sorta an Amazonian Princess Goddess or something, right? She's immortal I think. Miss Grey is still here! She's not going anywhere. I don't think. Annnd... you got me, your sister, right?" She says hopefully. "I'll always have your back, no matter what."

X-23 has posed:
"Miss Grey isn't dead. That still doesn't mean she's there." The comment about sister actually gets a rare look of emotion on Laura's face. Fear. "Not my sister. Don't say that. My friend."

Rage has posed:
".... Oh. Okay.. I just.. " Andrea pauses, finding her cheeks flush. "What's wrong? Did you have a sister before?"

X-23 has posed:
Laura hesitates. A surprisingly long time, for her. Then she speaks. "What do you know about my past, Andrea?" She's serious.

Rage has posed:
"I know that you were experimented on by bad people and that you came to us to find your dad, and that you're not very good with social skills or people due to being locked up in a room your entire life and this is your first taste of the real world." Andrea bites her bottom lip some. ".. Which is why I'm trying really hard to show you that life is okay and normal. That it's okay to let your guard down a bit."

X-23 has posed:
"I am a clone." Laura states. She's got her emotions a little more reined in now. "There are several other clones in various stages of development. They would be my...sisters. They would also be Weapons, like I am." She looks to Andrea. "If you ever see one of my "sisters", you should run."

Rage has posed:
Blinking her eyes, Andrea stares at her for a long moment. She opens her mouth, then slowly closes it as she whistles out a sigh. "... you're a .. you're still a real person. You're not a weapon." She says as she reaches out to take her hands in her own, squeezing them. "Okay? From here out, you're a /person/. A girl. A mutant. A friend. *My* sister. You're not a clone." Resolution rings in her voice as she stares at her.

X-23 has posed:
Laura...X-23...looks down at her hands, and up. Her eyes are bright, because there are tears welling up that aren't falling. "You do not want to be my family, Andrea. I have a..."father"...who does not want to acknowledge I exist. My mother is dead. Bad things happen to my family. And I am dangerous to be around."

Rage has posed:
"I ate a cat." Andrea blurts out to her. "I ate my neighbors cat." She takes in a deep breath, then lets it out slowly.

X-23 has posed:
Laura stares a moment. "..." Beat. "Was it tasty?" She asks, more curious than anything. "The Facility where I was created will be dangerous to anyone who is too close to me." Another pause. "I haven't told anyone all the details."

Rage has posed:
"I don't know if it was tasty or not. I .. it was during my first change as a mutant. One moment I was a girl, angry and mad at something that I can't remember, and that dumb fat tabby was outside yowling all day by the window. Next thing I knew I was chasing it down on all fours, tearing into it with my jaws as a wolf. I was so scared when my brain cleared and I was sitting in the backyard with orange fur everywhere." Andrea says as she rubs the back of her neck. "And I'll always be close to you, Laura. If they come for you, they gotta go through me, and when I go furry, not many can go through me." She assures. "If that /ever/ happens, I'll let her take full control."

X-23 has posed:
Laura frowns. "I do not want to put you between the two. The Facility needs to be dealt with, but I do not want to put you at risk to do so."

Rage has posed:
"We're a team, Laura. It's what we do for each other. You put yourself between me and the Reavers, and I would do this for you. It's what family does." Andrea says with a nod of her head. "I won't let them take you away from us."

X-23 has posed:
Laura's cheeks finally...finally...show the trails of tears as they fall down from her eyes. She rolls them skyward, trying to minimize it. "I do not want to lose more family." she says, tensely.

Rage has posed:
Andrea reaches up and brushes a thumb along her cheek to clear a tear away. "You wont lose me. I promise you."

X-23 has posed:
That will get a hug...a real, proper hug, from Laura, as she gives a surprisingly snug hug to Andrea. "It is nice to have a sister."
