Cast of Characters: Wonder Woman, Ares

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana Prince was at a public rally for peace almost the mutant population today. It was one roughly year ago that the President of the United States was assassinated by a shapeshifting mutant and as such some feared tensions were high about a flare-up in crime toward that subsect of humanity.

The rally had gone smoothly though. Diana was in attendance and she's wearing her armor and a robe over it with dark blue pants beneath the skirt because its nearing December and the weather is just too cold for skirts even if she doesn't suffer from chill quite like the average person.

She's greeting people now publicly as they come to her to speak with her, her hair is down and its blowing gently in the cold November breeze. Things seem busy, but casual, people seem orderly and calm in the moment.

Ares has posed:
Ares was there. The God of War.

His eyes watched the rally precedings, but his eyes were almost laser-focused on his dearest sister. Despite all of their quabbles and fights, with Ares just wanting to be left alone, or wanting revenge against his family, he never wanted an enemy out of his own sister. But, perhaps with the fate of millions at stake, they can reach an impasse. Even for such a short moment in history.

Diana was greeting people.

Of course she was.

Though, she probably didn't expect the next person in line to approach her be that of Ares. He wore a pitch black tuxedo. His eyes like that of a piercing moon. But he doesn't smile. "Sister."

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana's eyes leave the pair of women she was speaking to and they now fall upon that of Ares, she recognizes him instantly and with it her smile also leaves. She at first tilts her head to the side but then straightens it. "You of all people have no place here at a rally for peace." She says to him, her voice soft enough that the rest around them cannot hear her. "You should leave." She tells him then as she starts to turn as though she's about to just walk away, but really she's planning to walk toward the other Amazons who are on the other side of the crowd between them and the podium where speeches were given moments earlier.

If there's one thing Diana was instructed on above all else, its that Ares was the man who'd bring ruin onto this world. Thats not a lesson easily let go of, especially after their first meeting over a 100 years ago, even if he claims that he was not responsible for that war... what she saw was a man trying to stoke its flame regardless.

Ares has posed:
"Perhaps I should. But we need to talk." Ares's tone and voice suggest that this is a matter of great importance. Though even as she turned heel, Ares sighed. "Even after 800 years of you being alive, you are still just a child." He says with mild irritation. "The world is at risk. If we do nothing, it will suffer and burn."

Perhaps Diana knew about Ares's son Phobos, a young, barely a teenager demi-god who went by Alexander.

"This is bigger than whatever quarrel we have between us."

Wonder Woman has posed:
The building that this rally is in front of has been emptied today for this very purpose and it has secuarity patrols inside of it. So when Ares refers to her as a child, Diana stops and she looks back to him then she turns and marches toward the building where she opens one of the doors and motions for him to enter with her.

Once they're inside she'll take a few steps further in and then turn around to glare at him. "You have no right to refer to me as a 'child' when my life is dedicated to the preservation of peace, and justice. To protect innocents and to secure as much... happiness as can possibly even be preserved on this chaotic world." She definitely has anger in her blue eyes right now though.

"Where you! You toy with people and poke and prod at them to amuse yourself, to create death and destruction when it serves to curb your boredom with your own dull and drab existence upon this plain!"

Diana knew Alexander, she'd visited him at his summer camp last year to privately meet with him and get a sense for the child's happiness and safety.

Ares has posed:
Ares was a simple man. Thus he followed her into this enclosed building, where no one could know of them or hear their cold words, so frightening in their elequence though Diana's anger doesn't seem to even faze him. There was something bigger than his pride, something Diana should have forever learned long ago.

"Please, you're playing of being a hero has given you more pride than you could even stand. But, I'm not here to debate this. What do you know about the Infinity Stones?"

His question pointed at her. He was here on business.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana knew only a little about the stones, she'd learned it recently from Thor and Doctor Strange. So when Ares brings them up she's... having to shift gears from their standard exchange of scathing words to this?

A confused look falls across the perfectly sculpted features of the 6'0" tall Themysciran Princess. Her dark eyebrows lower and her eyes glare a bit more at the man before her. "I know of them." She says to him, indicating she probably doesn' tknow a lot.

"Color me surprised that you are involved in them though. Looking to gather some for your own benetfit, I assume." She's harsh on him, more than anyone likely ever has been to his face before.

Ares has posed:
"Once again Diana, you fail to see the larger picture. Or have you finally embraced your selfishness?" They were siblings. what else could you possibly expect? Alas, Ares kept his eyes on Diana like a hawk, but eventually he lets a sigh cross his features. "Clearly not enough. You underestimate their immense destructive potential."

Despite her harsh words, Ares scoffs. "I've heard worse from Zeus." He challenges her. "The psionic disasters that's bene happening of late? It's because a monster has come into the possession of such a thing. The Mind Gem, if memory serves. In terms of telepathic might, as the name suggests, is infinite. No being should have such a power. You know it, and I know it."

Wonder Woman has posed:
If this weren't such a serious topic of conversation, Diana likely would've already punched him back out into the street... but there were civilians out there too... curbing her anger toward this 'brother' of hers. She angrily folds her arms over her stomach and she stares flatly at him, containing her annoyances... as best she can.

"I have enough knowledge on this matter to know that there are many powerful people who are looking into it to resolve it all as quickly as possible." She says in her thick Greek accented English. "I have told them that I am here should they need my help and that stands, ever as it should. I am not a telepath, however, nor have I a great deal of experience with dealings of the Astral plains. So I am laying in wait... for their word that I can help with something, and then, I will be there."

Ares has posed:
Diana knows full well how that would go. Either she'd win by the skin of her teeth, or she'd lose. Not to emtnion, Ares knows that she wouldn't dare cause such a battle between Gods in such a populated area, where untold numbers of people would be hurt, and Ares would be all the stronger for it. Regardless, he sighs.

"We need all hands on deck. We all must work together for the greater good of existence itself." He turns on his heel. "I care not for your opinion of me, for it has long been wrong for millenia. Why do you think our father always despised me?" Zeus always treated Ares like a dog, no matter what Ares had done.

"Speak with Thor Odinson. He will be more wiling to tell you more."

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana's eyes remain on his, she's solemn and motionless, clearly with a lot of thoughts and emotions rolling through her mind. "I will find him." She says then as her arms uncross from her torso and she lets them vanish back inside of her dark blue robe that falls closed again around her form. "Thor knows he can come to me when there is an issue that I can assist with... but if there is more information that I need to know then I will reach out to him."

The affaris of the pantheon of gods were complicated and Diana truly did not claim to know what caused one to treat the other as such, she only knew she disliked the pettiness of it all and how so many fights could've been resolved with a more peeceful approach if they'd just tried... harder to do so. Like she is now.

Diana moves to step around him and to go back outside to those waiting for her. As she passes him she looks to him yet still. "Though there is no angle here where I will ever trust what you say." Her voice is low, smokey in tone and laced with that deeply trained distaste for him. Its Hippolyta's fault, ultimately!

Ares has posed:
Ares turns his head to Diana, for once in multiple centuries, a smile touches his features. "Man...they really did turn me into the devil." and without another word, Ares disappears like fog. Likely returning to his home and to the presence of his son.

Leaving Diana alone to her thoughts. But of course, he knew she'd never trust him or like him or even so much as willingly be around him. Every story needs a villain.
