Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Mon-El, Black Queen

Mon-El has posed:
The skies turn grey over Walker's Cay, and the atmosphere almost immediately turning dull and gloomy where only moments before the sun had been shining. There is definitely a storm rolling in.

Down on the beach, Lar pulls Selene close to himself as he prepares to take off and leave the island before things get too rough out there. Typically the weather wouldn't matter, but since Selene is with him, it kind of does. "Up we go." he says as he takes her into the sky. "Just uh, point me in the right direction."

Black Queen has posed:
Up into the air they go, and Selene is being carried by Mon-El just after having been attacked. "New York. Manhattan, I have a little house there." She comments easily and holds on tight to the flying daxamite. Selene gets goosebumps all over her arms as they fly, the breeze causing her to chill some, as she pulls in closer. She was after all only in a bikini at the beach and after those monsters attacked her the wind is quite cold.

Once over New York she will guide Mon-El to the 'little house'. It looks like it was once a 5 story apartment, rennovated out of an old city building and then purchased by Selene. And renovated again into a single house, walls broken down to make larger rooms, lots of space, the first floor and second floor nearly combined all throughout to make a giant open, tall space, and filled with antiques and elegence. Crystal chandeliers, and other opulence. All of the furniture is tip top but old, paintings from antique purchases just hanging in the walls, and not a single other soul in sight as she lets Mon-El come inside.

Mon-El has posed:
It is a bit cold on the way there, especially as they get farther north. But fortunately for Selene, it's not too long before they arrive, and Lar touches down in front of the door and puts her down gently.

"Wow, nice place." he comments as they enter. "Looks like you have a taste for antique art." Then he shakes his head. "Right. You said that."

"Uh, do you have towels somewhere?" he asks, even though he probably already knows she does and can see them but you know, it's not polite to get digging through people's things without asking.

Black Queen has posed:
With the comment about her place, Selene nods her head, "Yeah, I am sort of an antiquer, actually. More hobbyist, than professional only because I do not get paid for the work usually." She mentions and with just a small pause adds on, "Well, no money exchanges hands." And then she starts walking toward one of the many bathrooms, this one on the first floor.

She looks around, "Now where are they?" And she opens up a few cupboards until she finds some towels, and walks them in the direction of Mon-El. "Here you are." And since Mon-El is attempting to look through walls and such he may actually find there's a sub-basement, and many different themed bedrooms here. There's no one else living here though. And the basement looks like some kind of bdsm dream or a torture chamber, but there's no one down there, and some of the rooms look like they are utilized for less than normal fun.

Mon-El has posed:
Lar nods at the comments about her hobby as she goes to find towels. "Makes sense, but it's worth it if you enjoy it."

He wasn't...intending to snoop in -everything-, but of course if he wasn't planning on fetching towels himself why was he even trying to look for them himself? Good question that he is probably not going to have to answer. Although those torture chambers do make him a bit uncomfortable....

Okay they make him a -lot- uncomfortable, because they actually remind him of some of the...less honorable things that his parents used to do back home to people who were -too- loud about their dissenting opinions.

Still, he said he would stay, just for the night.

"Uh, thanks." He takes one of the towels and starts to dry himself off, leaving the other for her. "So--you...uhm...you live here alone?"

Black Queen has posed:
"Usually." Selene comments as she is walking about and lightly just drying herself off. Now that she is home, she's just padding about the place in barefeet, and tossing off the thin covering material she had at the beach. So, just in her bikini now. "You want anything to eat or drink?" She wonders as she heads toward the kitchen.

"Thank you for staying though, those monsters made me... well, a bit frightened. And they attacked me right away, I am really confused, but there's no way I could of defeated them. If they come back... or if something else attacks. I, I'm pretty positive I could not defend myself." Smiling she tilts her head as she looks at Mon-El, "Something... bothering you? It is okay, I mean, I really enjoyed going to the island with you, and it is super sweet of you to be willing to stay around."

Mon-El has posed:
"Right..." Lar replies absently to that answer. He tries to dismiss the images of those torture chambers from his mind, maybe they're just prop replicas from her favorite movies? Some people do like that kind of stuff. But he can't shake them.

He nods as she talks about the monsters. "Yes, yes I can imagine it was scary, it...is reasonable for you to want some measure of security. People are usually pretty shaken up after things like that, especially if they appear to have been targeted specifically, as you were."

Then she asks him if anything is bothering him. "I--uh--" -Should- he bring it up? He glances around nervously, rubbing his neck and failing to finish the thought.

Black Queen has posed:
Coming back toward Mon-el, Selene tilts her head in a bit of confusion. She's looking at him and up towards his nervous looking demeanor. She reaches out a hand to gently touch his arm, so long as he doesn't move away. "Look. It is okay if you do not think I am pretty. I really just want the company, there's no pressure to do anything. Okay? I know sometimes, men think, attractive woman invites them over to her house, that suddenly they'll have to perform." She shakes her head, smiling a little bit, "I get it. You have that blonde haired, wonder girl person as a girlfriend or a memory of one, just it's okay."

And she tilts her head back the other way, "Unless, there's something else? I mean, if you... really... want to... go, I could... uh... call some... security." She then sighs and looks down toward the ground, starting to shuffle her feet a bit as she does so. "I just..." Swallowing, "Thought, you would be better at... keeping me safe. Since it's probably that evil sorceress coming after me, to get to you."

Mon-El has posed:
Lar doesn't pull away, though he doesn't seem to calm down really. Especially when she brings up Kara. "I--she--we're not together any more." he admits with a sigh, his eyes downturned. "It wasn't that she didn't think I was good enough or anything, it was--it was my fault, all right? -I- broke up with her, not the other way around. It was...complicated."

Then he looks back up at her. "No, it's okay, I can stay, it wasn't even that. I gave you my word, so I'm going to keep it. I--" he sighs. "Glorith isn't evil, she's just--" he shakes his head. "Never mind. It's too difficult to explain." A pause. "Maybe you should get some rest. I'll keep watch."

Black Queen has posed:
With you standing there and agreeing still. Selene smiles a bit, "Great. I'm glad you decided to stay." And she then keeps holding onto Lar, moving to put her arm around his, at the elbow, and there's another feeling that Mon-El may or may not be able to really resist. A sensation of his life force being pulled on, tugged, drained even, and attached to Selene's own. "You broke up with her? You don't need to go into details, but I did not think much of her, she's quaint looking in that cute farm girl sort of way."

And she keeps talking, walking Mon-El toward a couch to sit down upon, that tuggging sensation on his very soul slowly increasing behind the words that Selene speaks, the contact of her bare arm. And if Mon-El isn't able to resist he might also start being more compliant to her very words. "I mean, blondes, not the best for raw beauty. I've always preferred dark haired women, like myself. Really, we have more fun."

Mon-El has posed:
At first, Lar seems to be somewhat repulsed by Selene's comment about Kara...he is truly, desperately in love with her, despite the fact that he was telling the truth about having broken it off himself. Yes, if Selene has been using her telepathy on him, she would know that he misses her as if she were his other half but on the other hand, he knows their relationship would only bring about pain and suffering for others. Too many others. He frowns. "Raw beauty isn't everything, Selene. Kara is...something el--"

And then there's this odd sensation, and somehow, he's suddenly sitting on the couch. He looks down at her arm, aware that she's up to -something-, but somehow, not yet wanting to pull away. As if a part of him just wants to know what she has in store. Even though he has regained his memories, somehow...he's never quite felt like he fit in here on Earth. Or anywhere, really. Not even with his own family, whose relationship with him is complicated to say the least. Selene, well at least she has been nothing but warm and welcoming. Never pushy, never trying to tell him what he -should- be.

But, she would also learn, if she doesn't already know--why he was uncomfortable moments before. He'd planned to go investigate the rooms alone, after she had gone to bed. Which was why he had suggested she rest in the first place. "...you know I can see your entire residence...right?"

Black Queen has posed:
As they find themselves sitting on the couch, Selene is smiling and nods her head, "Yes, of course. Beauty IS everything. Beauty of the soul, beauty of the mind, beauty of the words, and beauty of the body. You must think a lot of Kara... to care so much about her and yet still want to not be with her for the sake of everyone else." She sighs and shakes her head, "I have never had someone who feels that way about me. Sure, there are those who recognize that I am the prettiest, and the smartest, woman they've ever met. And on and on with the compliments, but genuinely delude themselves into thinking I am beyond all others no matter what I do?"

As your mind flickers to other thoughts, Earth, the rooms, she nods her head, "Oh, I know you can see everything. Like you did at the apartment, remember? And I am sure you could look at me naked right now... and yet I still choose to have something on. It is this mask that people wear all the time, throughout the centuries, that always ruins them in the end." There she stays though, still holding onto your arm, still smiling lightly, "You are special. Honorable, friendly, genuinely a man of his word. You can do anything, if only you had the right support. A person of great... influence. With resources that you could use to make this place, your new home, better. Would you like that? Support, true support to make your dreams for this place a reality?"

Mon-El has posed:
"And Kara is beautiful in every way..." Lar insists. But still, maybe Selene is right. Maybe it doesn't make sense to put anyone on -that- high of a pedestal. Not even Kara Zor-El. Not even Supergirl.

With her questions, he nods slowly. "I would...I--" But then his mind once again goes to those rooms he saw, and he tenses a bit, frowning again. "Resources? Like what, the torture devices in the basement?"

Black Queen has posed:
There's a check box of knowledge, and Selene is always reading people's minds, at least their surface thoughts. She's never been one to grant privacy to others by limiting her own powers. No, why be a Telepath if you are not going to snoop? Even the likes of Emma Frost and many other Telepaths still consider it a huge invasion to snoop, not Selene. Or rather, she doesn't care if it is... "You would... I can be..." And Selene pauses when you talk about the torture devices in the basement.

Her cheeks flush and she pulls away a bit, hand still up against Mon-El's arm as she turns to face him somewhat, cheeks red and bright as can be. "Oh, you can see those too? Right, I... ummm...." She looks away a moment and then back, to Mon-El. "Maybe you... um, haven't, been on Earth, so... uh, long, as to... um, you uhh..." She runs her free hand through her hair and seems very anxious about something. "My, late... husband... and... I we, um, we well, we've used such things... for... our... personal, um, pleasure." She blinks a few times, and then mentions, "I doubt I will trust someone again to use them on me, but I keep them... for, sentimental reasons."

Mon-El has posed:
The frown deepens, as Selene suddenly seems nervous when he brings up the torture devices. And admits that they were used for personal pleasure! That does it, he doesn't even listen to the part that came after, the part where she mentioned it had been used on herself. Just because she seemed reluctant to talk about them, he just kind of...assumed that she knew he wouldn't like the answer or something.

"What?!" his eyes suddenly glow with red fire before she can even finish, although the lasers do not shoot out out them just yet. He pulls away from her now, standing up from the couch. Something is off though, he doesn't feel quite the same as before, yet somehow he hadn't noticed it until now. But can't put a finger on what it is. Had she drained him of something? This perturbs him further. "...-personal pleasure-?! You--you--so what did you think, you could hide it from me, or that I'd be fine with it?!" No, he definitely doesn't understand what she is talking about, and this misunderstanding has somehow infuriated him.

Black Queen has posed:
Squealing at the red laser eyes, Selene backs up, startled. She puts her hands up, "No no please. I ... are... your people really conservative or something?" She is stumbling through her words, and she swallows hard, "Yes. I like, having them used on me. I'm sorry I didn't mean to upset you." She is scared and pulling back, her eyes partially squinted as she's trying not to look at the laser eyes, and her hands are waving in front of her face as if they could stop the beams from hurting her.

"Please, please, I... I'll stop, just don't kill me, please. I swear, I won't ever be tied up again, I promise!" She calls out loudly, and starts sniffling a bit, shaking, trembling on the couch, in pure and utter terror of Mon-El and his fiery eyes.

Mon-El has posed:
When Selene starts to cower and beg, going on about being tied up, the glow fades from his eyes as anger gives way to confusion. However, he still seems rather unsettled and tense. "...conservative? No, they--I...why would you be tied up? And I -don't- kill people unless I absolutely have to, so don't even go there!" he folds his arms, looking indignant but at the same time not looking at her; instead he stares out a window.

"Look, maybe there's been some kind of terrible misunderstanding here. But it's been a long day for you and it's late. You should really get some rest. I'll watch until a little past sunrise, okay?"

Black Queen has posed:
When you at least calm down where you aren't going to shoot her with your eyes, Selene sniffles some, and still looks at you with fear. "Y-you... have never.. heard of... BDSM?" She questions and swallows, though she's still scared, and up on the arm of the couch and sitting there. Watching you. Waiting to cower again, "It's a form of... sexual activity... and it happens on Earth regularly, I just... thought... you would have heard of it. I..."

Then she shakes her head more as you tell her to just go to sleep. "I am not sure I want you watching over me. Maybe you should leave, and attempt to figure out how you are going to say you are sorry. I... I just wanted to have a good day on an island with an attractive man, who might just understand what it is like to be different. And you... you threaten me with laser eyes. Even after I offer to help you?"

Mon-El has posed:
Lar turns back to her, staring. Nope, just a blank look at the mention of BDSM. She doesn't seem to be lying, but still...whatever she was doing just now continues to concern him and cause suspicion, though he doesn't bring it up directly. "No." he answers coldly, despite the explanation of it being fairly normal on Earth. Particularly the bit about sexual activity seems to have soured the idea to him further. Even if she hasn't given a full description of what it is, she might be able to tell he already has an idea, and it reminds him of something that used to happen back home that he loathed with a passion. "And I don't think I -want- to hear of it."

He sighs when she starts to guilt trip him. Perhaps rightly so, but it doesn't really help matters. "I'm sorry, all right? I didn't mean to threaten you, that tends to happen when I get angry or too emotional. You should be glad they didn't -actually- come out. But fine, if you don't want me to stay, I won't." he starts toward the door. "Good night, Ms. Gallio."

Black Queen has posed:
With Lar starting to turn toward the door, Selene looks up. "If I am dead in the morning. I am sorry that I offended you with my private, personal activities. We were not hurting anyone, and you judge. You had no right to look in on things and cast your conservative views at myself and my dead husband." She gets a touch of anger in her voice as she does not stop him from leaving.

Whatever the case may be at this point, Selene's ideally been able to take from Lar enough that he's tied to her more than he might yet realize. She stays in a slightly heightened state of panic and points toward the door. "Arrogance, and hate, are the two worst human traits. Right now, you fit right in."

Mon-El has posed:
Lar was about to just walk out, but then she just had to throw salt on the wound, didn't she? She just had to keep guilting him. He pauses at the door, then abruptly turns around and storms back over to her, glaring daggers although not quite at the 'glowing red' point again yet. "You have torture devices in your basement, what the hell was I supposed to think?! I told you, I -didn't- grow up here like Kal or Kara did. I told you that I can see through just about everything, if you didn't want me to see your -private- business, then why would you ask me to come here in the first place?! And just because you can read my mind, doesn't mean you know me so don't you dare act like you do!"

"-You're- the one who wants me to leave, so if you -are- dead in the morning, it'll be your -own- damn fault! Now good night for real." And then he is out the door and up into the night sky outside.

Black Queen has posed:
And Selene learned tonight the name of the woman who is Supergirl. That she grew up here, and that Lar is an emotional push over. She watches as Lar flies away, it's a little easier for her to track him than even his super senses to track her, but what he hears... as he's leaving, is the sobbing of Selene, and a few words, "I'm a horrible person, I ruin... everything..." And then more sobbing as she stays at her house all alone.
