Ares has posed:
Another day, another trip to the coffee shop.

John Aaron had picked a nice little chair for himself so he could face out the window. You know, one of those counter-chairs that they usually employ at bars, but use at the window? Yeah.

Anyway.

John sips lightly at his black coffee, waking up for the day. He looks at his smart phone. No summons from the Construction company he works at, so he supposes this will be his day off. But speaking of phones..he's still beating himself up for not getting Karen's number. Oh well..maybe he'd see her again?

Power Girl has posed:
    Pushing glasses up on her nose, Karen sighs and walks her way into the coffee house. She lets out a rather unflattering yawn and her hair looks a mess. She really does look like she just woke up. She walks her way up to the counter and lets out another yawn. "mrflenrfle." 'Hot Chocolate coming up.' The barista says and Karen literally puts her head on the counter.....and falls asleep standing up.

Ares has posed:
Ares turns his head to the yawning babe of a woman who proceeds to mumble an order....then headdesks gently. Wait, is she sleeping? Ares can hear her slowed breathing, and with a chuckle, he stands up, approaching the sleeping Karen and putting a hand on her back. "Hey Karen. Are you alright?" He tries to soothe her awake, rather than startle her or force her awake.

Power Girl has posed:
    Karen is sound asleep all right...and no amount of nudging wakes her up. The barista chuckles a bit. "She's a sound sleeper. Don't worry abotu bothering her just yet. She only comes here when she's out of hot chocolate at her apartment." He says before finishing her order, and putting the hot chocolate right next to her nose. This wakes her up partially, and she sits up, to drink the hot chocolate. Her eyes open up a bit and she looks to the barista. "Did I drool this time?" She then looks to John Aaron. "You again. John Henry right? Or was it John Irons." She then looks at the top of his head. "You're not bald."

Ares has posed:
John just pats Karen's back, as if it will help her wake up. He does look to the barista and he gives her a little smile. "I met her a few days ago, so I didn't really know. But hey, good info for the future yeah?" He looks to Karen...and strangely still finds her to be the most beautiful woman he's ever seen. and he's lived millenia. But, when she looks at him, he laughs. "Morning gorgeous. Nope, not bald." he runs a hand through his full head of hair to prove the point. "John Aaron. Close though. Karen...Starr, right?"

Power Girl has posed:
    "Yup, Karen Starr." Karen then takes another drink. "You're the dude I ran into at the bar that didn't hit on me, try to spill a drink on me or ask if they were real." She then chuckles. "Got the trifecta going, doncha?" She says sitting on a stool. "Surprising you're in a coffee shop. This doesn't seem like your kind of place."

Ares has posed:
Ares smiles to Karen lightly, shrugging a bit. "That I am." he winks at her, before he sits on the stool next to her, sipping at his coffee. "Really? I'm in this shop most days. Best coffee in town." he shrugs. "But, it's good to see you. How're you doing? besides falling asleep on counters."

Power Girl has posed:
    "meh. Late night at the lab. One of the lab workers thought he was able to make a new element. Unfortunately, the name says it all....Explodium. Guess what it did." Karen then chuckles a bit.

Ares has posed:
Ares just laughed. "Did he really call it Explodium?" He facepalms, buth e does look at Karen with amusement in his eyes. "Anything else exciting happen at work today? Minus the poor soul who thought making a highly combustible substance is fun?" he gives her a playful nudge with his elbow.

Power Girl has posed:
    "No, I called it explodium after it went off." Karen says with a chuckle. "He's fine though. Was a big blast but he managed to escape most of it, somehow." She doesn't explain the rest though...that Karen moved at superspeed to make the researcher avoid the biggest part of the shockwave, then put him back before he knew what was going on.

Ares has posed:
John chuckles a little bit as he hears the story. "Snarky." he says in a manner of praise, not so much in the form of an insult. But, his eyes have never left Karen's. He seemed to be genuinely enjoying her company. Not for her body (which is killer, by the by), but for her personality. "I'm glad he's alright. Science is nothing to screw around with."

Power Girl has posed:
    "Yeah, but if you don't screw around with it, you're not going to find out what else there is out there. Like how Jellyfish are able to hold their shape instead of just being an amorphous blob. or how an Amoeba can survive." She then downs the rest of her hot chocolate. "One more for the road, chuckles." She says to the barista. "Right, ms Starr."

Ares has posed:
John laughs a bit, looking to Karen. "Uh oh, am I about to lose the best company I've had the pleasure of being next to?" He didn't seem insulted or hurt, but he was just being playful. "Well, if you're taking off.." he looks her in the eyes. "May I have your cell phone number? I'd like to see you again." it's an innocent offer, but at the sime time it's the offer of someone hopeful, that she might //want// to see him again to...in whichever way was wanted.

Power Girl has posed:
    Karen looks to John and chuckles. "you want my phone number." She then shakes her head. "Sure. Why not. I just don't always answer, especially if I'm in the middle of something." She says writing something down on a napkin. It's really flowy cursive too. "Here ya go."

Ares has posed:
John seems to smile then, accepting the napkin and looking at it to read what was written, as if memorizing it, before he tucks it away neatly in his leather jacket pocket, so that it won't fly away from the wind or have the writing be messed up.

"Thank you." he smiles warmly to her. "I can walk you home, if you like?"

Power Girl has posed:
    "it's where I just came from. I'm off to work." Karen says as she gets a latte. "This'll work." She then waves. "See ya around, John." She says as she starts her way out of the coffee shop and heads for Star Labs....
