Cast of Characters: Ares, Wonder Girl

Ares has posed:
It was about 3 o'clock in the afternoon. JUST after Ares got off work. In case some people don't know, Ares is now John Aaron. centuries ago, he spat in the face of the family that treated him like a dog no matter what great deeds he did for them to show the God's power, and he decided to live as a man.

So, now he's home, dressed in average clothes, wearing jeans and a black T-shirt, a little boy in his arms.

"So, how was school, Alexander?" Ares asks his son, who's true name is Phobos. But, Ares isn't expecting anythign to happen, and seems to just want to spend time with his son.

Who knows who could stop on by?

Wonder Girl has posed:
Ares isn't an easy man to track down. John Aaron, however, is a different story. Cassie Sandsmark has been searching for her half brother pretty much ever since she left the Titans. Not permanently, of course; just enough to clear her head. And she needs someone to talk to who is relatively unbiased.

After many dead ends, she arrives at a quiet home in a quiet part of a quiet town. Yes, this has to be the place. The blonde has grown up quite a lot since she last saw her half-brother. Three years of training with the Amazons plus some time working with the Titans have given her a confidence to match her youthful exhuberence.

She knocks on the door, fully expecting it to be opened by someone she doesn't recognize. Again.

Ares has posed:
She got lucky.

A knock on the door and Ares sighs, "Just a second!" and he stands up from when he was next to Alexander, and imagine his surprise when he opens up the door. "Oh, hello Cassie." He smiles to his actually pleasant half-sister (unlike Diana). "Long time no see." Ares knew long ago that she didn't need his guidance anymore. But, surprises will be surprises.

"Would you like to come in?"

Wonder Girl has posed:
Cassie Sandsmark returns the smile. Broadly. Yes, she's definitely grown since he last saw her. Tank top and close-fitting jeans, boots, and an old-fashioned belt pouch on her hip.

"Hello, Uncle John." she replies, keeping up the facade as she steps inside. "And thanks, I'd like that very much."

"I was actually hoping you might have a few minutes. To talk." Spotting Alexander, she smiles and waves again. "And who might this be?"

Ares has posed:
"Well, come on in then." and Ares steps aside to let hr in. Once she was fully inside, Ares closes the door behind her and moves to the kitchen. "Sure, I have some time. Want coffee or tea?" John asks easily enough, before she asks about Alexander.

"That's my son, Alexander. Alex, say hi to your cousin, Cassie." Alexander gives her a somewhat shy look and he gives a little wave. "He's a little shy, but he'll warm up to you."

John will come back into the room and hand Cassie some tea. "So..what do you want to talk about?"

Wonder Girl has posed:
Cassie Sandsmark smiles at the little boy and also gives a little wave. "Hi, Alex. Pleased to meet you." She crouches down to be on eye level with Alexander for a moment. "I wanted to talk with your dad for a little bit, but then could you show me your room? Maybe it needs a little straightening up first?"

Rising slowly, she nods to Ares and accepts the tea. "Thanks." Giving Alex a moment to scamper off, she takes a sip from her cup and begins. "I've been back training with the Amazons. It's more comfortable than the first time I visited." And yet something is clearly bothering her.

Ares has posed:
Alexander nods happily and runs off to go make sure his room is all nice and fixed up, before Ares has her full attention. Ares seems to set his cup aside, and the God of War crosses his arms, looking Cassie right in the eyes.

"and?"

Ares knows Cassie way too well. He trained her, goddamn it..or helped, train her specifically. "You still seem like something's bothering you."

Wonder Girl has posed:
Cassie Sandsmark takes a sip of her tea, slowly and savoring it. Her expression is one of approval, and perhaps a bit of surprise. "It is, yes. Sort of." The girl draws a deep breath, exhaling slowly.

"It's hard to explain, so I'm just going to start talking and hope it comes out right eventually."

The girl lowers her cup as well. "I may be training with the Amazons, and learning an awful lot from them by the way. But I'm not an Amazon. That becomes more and more obvious to me every day I spent with them. But I have more in common with you than I do with them."

Ares has posed:
Ares keeps his arms crossed as Cassie just TELLS HIM what she thinks her problem is. He nods after about every fifth word she says, showing that he's not only hearing her, but LISTENING to her words like they truly matter. Because they do, to him anyway.

"hmmm.." that's not much to go off of Ares. But he seems to nod, looking at her. "Alright. Regardless of how true that is in my own humble opinion-" are the opinions of Gods truly humble? "but go on." Ares didn't jump to conclusions. He never jumps to conclusions.

Wonder Girl has posed:
Cassie Sandsmark draws another breath, exhaling a chuff of air. "It's important because you're family. I mean, no matter how much I train with them, the Amazons won't really understand me. Not like you can. And it's occurred to me that I'll never REALLY understand who I am without that perspective."

"Without YOUR perspective."

The girl pauses again, taking another sip of tea. "Look. I know you've got a good thing here, with your son. And I don't want to screw that up. But I'd really like it... really appreciate it... if we, you know. Kept in touch."

Ares has posed:
Ares takes a moment after hearing the whole thing to glance towards where Alexander ran off. "Well...damn." The God of War sighs a moment, before his eyes look back to Cassie. "You really know how to make a God of War come out of his hiding spot." he runs a hand through his hair. "Diana's gonna throw a hissy fit, but it's alright, I guess. Well, if you need my perspective or just for me to keep in touch...you got it."

He looks back to where Alexander was.

"Just try not to bring demons or angry amazons to my doorstep, yeah?"

Wonder Girl has posed:
Cassie Sandsmark shakes her head, almost a bit too quickly. "Diana doesn't know I'm here, and I have no intention of telling her." the girl replies in a lower voice. "Like I said; she's close but you're family." And short of going to Olympus or having a divine visitor, he's likely the only family she'll have access to for a while.

At his agreement she smiles again. "Thanks. I'm not sure... I mean I don't have any specific questions right now. But it's just reassuring to know."

Ares has posed:
Ares chuckles. "Good. I'd hate to have to kick her ass again." Okay, the last time she won was by the skin of her freaking teeth...and because he was gloating. Something he's learned to handle. But! He does seem appreciative and touched by her words. "and you're my family, Cass, you know that." he returns the sentiment.

"Anytime. Well, if you want, I do have a guest room here. If you really feel like having a place where you belong, it's yours if you want it."

Wonder Girl has posed:
Cassie Sandsmark tilts her head, but looks genuinely pleased with the offer. "I wouldn't want to intrude, of course, but thanks very much for the offer. I really mean that, too." Picking up the teacup again, she takes another sip before asking.

"So where is Alexander's room?"
