Not So Incognito
Date of Scene: 21 November 2018
Location: New York City
Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Ekaterina Vespucci, Captain America

Ekaterina Vespucci has posed:
The Contessa Ekaterina Vespucci is standing on the corner of a street midtown looking up at the Avengers building taking picture with her phone for artistic reference. Her eidetic memory means the photos are redundant for her purpose which will be later capturing the buildings likeness. In her free hand she carries a large long black coffee (her favorite). It's almost like she is doing reconnisance on the building even though her intentions are quite innocent.

Captain America has posed:
"Papers didn't do it justice, huh?" A quiet masculine voice comes from a bit farther down the sidewalk. The gentleman in question is in his usual 'incognito' get-up of jeans and a white long-sleeve beneath a bomber jacket, shearling lapels and all, as well as a Dodgers baseball cap and aviators. Tony would laugh at the sight, no doubt, but for Steve, the disguise has worked well in the past as long as he kept moving. In his hand, a small paper bag filled with items from a nearby hardward store. In his free time, he's attempting to patch up some of the smaller dings and dents to the interior of the mansion after the catastrophic vacation it took in the insectoid dimension.

"You can probably find higher-definition photos on the Internet," he adds with a small polite smile. He'll have to walk past Ekaterina to reach the side gate and, at this point, he's so close to 'home' that it's not worth hiding who he is, blond hair and broad shoulders and all.

Ekaterina Vespucci has posed:
"Never quite the same as taking your own though," Ekaterina says not looking at STeve for the moment. When she does perk up she double takes at Steve Rogers, "Hey you're Steve Rogers," she states. She bounces - she is quite amll and dressed in baggy cheap student clothing. Looks kind of like a college freshman.

Captain America has posed:
Steve keeps that polite smile plastered on his face and seems to assume the air of inevitable stardom descending upon him. "Yep. That's me." The sunglasses are plucked from his nose and then folded to be tucked into the collar of his shirt, adhered by the clipping effect of one side-arm. "You doing some research on the place then?" Hey, nothing wrong with a little chitchat before he gets back to spackling and painting and attempting to undo what holes //he// made when going after bug eggs hidden like demented Easter goodies in the walls.

Ekaterina Vespucci has posed:
The small girl curtseys and says, "Sono la Contessa Ekaterina Vespucci - butr everyone calls me Kat - even my employees." She puts her phone away. There is a 'Contessa' in New York who is reputedly a crimelored and underworld figure. Whether Steve knew of this is anotrher matter. "I continue to meet real celebrities in New York wow."

Captain America has posed:
"Miss Kat," replies the Captain evenly. His eyes narrow a touch, but otherwise, he attempts to keep up the beatific front he puts forth as part of his public persona. Oh yes -- he remembers this one from a manila folder not too long ago, after idly perusing those of SHIELD interest out of curiosity and mild boredom between meetings. "You can check me off on your sight-seeing list then," he adds in droll cheek. "If you hang around here long enough, you'll run into others as well. Stark runs a high-enough profile as is."

Ekaterina Vespucci has posed:
"You recognise my name?" Kat does not fail to miss the slight change in posture. Kat seems excited by the peospect, "Well I would like to meet some more Avengers. I already have run into Thor Odinson when I was painting in a park around Manhatten. I've yet to meet Tony. I do move in those ciricles - charity auctions and the like."

Captain America has posed:
"You'll run into him any day now. Those events are his forte." The Captain then sighs, almost ruefully. "Yes, Miss Kat, I recognize your name. I've got a good memory. Hopefully I continue to see you on the street and not elsewhere." The insinuation is clear: not behind bars. By his expression, he means well by the comment regardless. "Thor's not hard to miss, especially in that cape. I don't think he knows what anonymity means at all." Steve laughs just a little.

Ekaterina Vespucci has posed:
"I have good legal representation," Kat says with a wink. "Amd I am not everything that I am made out to be. Both more and less." What she means by that is not obvious but her status as an External mutant of some vintage is another poorly concealed secret. "Well the God of Thunder probably wants to live free and open. I mean with all those Asgardian refugees around he's going to be quite visable. I ran into one of his Valkyries the other day. Wound up helping her fight a Dark Elf. A straggler from that whole Ragnarok thingy." Kat gets around apparently.

Captain America has posed:
Steve's brows lift. "Hmm. Hadn't heard about that one. I'll have to speak with him and see how he's holding up. We've been at odd trying to catch up as is." He glances over at the mansion and back to her, down to the pocket where her cell phone went away, and back up to her face. "I never heard what you were up to with those pictures you were taking. Research?" he asks again. What is this guy, campus security?

Ekaterina Vespucci has posed:
"Oh I'm planning a secret attack on you guys. Get you all in one go!" Kat says waggling her eyebrows at Cap. This is definitely her being sarcastic. "Or maybe I'm planning on painting a picture of the building and need a few reference shots. I might have made a scale model of it but I am sure those exist in a couple of architectural firms so why bother."

Captain America has posed:
Giving a small smile, Steve shrugs those broad shoulders of his and glances again over at the manor. "I'm not going to wish you luck, but at least you're doing your research," he replies deadpan. "What medium do you use? In your painting? I sketch in my free time. Well," a small laugh and he rubs at the back of his neck briefly. "In what free time I get. The joys of being a well-known public figure. You know what I mean."

Ekaterina Vespucci has posed:
"Classic oil painting. I sculpt as well. I own a series of commercial galleries around the U.S. You shopuld come visit my New York one. I'm not much of a fan of modern art I must admit. I'm a Dark Ages girl who is fond of Rennaisance Art." She gives away her approximate age there but Steve might just dismiss what she said as a turn of phrase.

Captain America has posed:
"That's a niche interest," Steve agrees, in regards to the particular scope of period art. "Rare too, these days. I'll try and make a point to drop by if I'm in the neighborhood. You gotta name for the place or a business card?" Always useful to have around, those business cards. Never know when you'll need to ring someone up out of the blue for some reason. Plus, the Captain's a polite guy and perhaps showing one at the door will prove he's there on good terms rather than to attempt to bust her.

Ekaterina Vespucci has posed:
Kat fishes about in her bag. She's a clumsy nerdy little caffine fiend. Hardly an imposing figure. "Here," she says passing her card. "Give me a call. I'll roll out the red carpet for you." She smiles sweetly.
